General Info
Name: Ranmyaku, Oketsu
Gender: Male
Age: 378
Ranking: (Former) 3rd Seat/Vice Captain
Physical Description: Oketsu has a slender build, and is six feet and five inches tall. His skin tone is hauntingly pale, giving off an ethereal glow which is accentuated by the pale silver colour of his iris. Along each cheek are three, three centimetre, holes lined with golden rings to prevent the holes from healing over. Oketsu’s hair silver in colour and reaches to his lower back. It is perfectly straight and without a fringe, with the exception of a singer piece of hair which lies over his face and often catches in the wind.
Oketsu still wears what remains of his shinigami robes, though the sleeves have been ripped off, at the shoulder on the left arm and at the elbow on the right. The lower half has been mostly removed and has been reduced to little more than tattered black rags that cover his newly acquired clothes from the human world. Under the remains of his robes he wears a Kevlar vest marked with a picture of two hands raised in fists reaching up towards a red sun, and long black cargo pants, covered in buckles and belts, with large black leather strapped boots which reach up to just below his knees, but are covered by his pants.
Personality Oketsu has a very high opinion of himself from his time spent as 3rd seat in squad 1. He often will look to employ humans or other shinigami to achieve his goals, or even hollows if the chance presents itself. Despite being manipulative and self centred, he also has a strong compassion for those he employs as his subordinates, and will often step in to aid them if the need arises. He also has a strongly patriarchal view of society though, which often leads to him looking down on females, even if they are stronger or hold a superior position to him.
Oketsu views goals as an integral part of life, and often will assign himself or subordinates seemingly unattainable goals simply so that they have something to aim for to lift what is within their limitations. These goals, however, are rarely long term; often Oketsu will replace one goal with another for the simple fact that he likes the new goal more. Oketsu does, however, have a single, lifetime goal which up until this point he has and will continue to follow with all his strength. His only true goal in life is the extermination of the Second Squad, and as such he has trained himself to deal with the Second Squad's generally underhand tactics and stealthy approaches.
Oketsu believes in the innate goodness of most other people, hence his use of subordinates. He believes even in the most feral hollow there is a little good, this belief coming from his own inner darkness. He is disdainful of races, especially those of the brotherhood. He sees Humans are mostly useless and overly emotional, the Quincy as a race long past their expiry date, and Mod Souls as an affront to everything that the Soul Society stands for. Despite these beliefs though he holds a strong admiration for these three races that have managed to join together in the face of adversity. He has spent much time around the brotherhood, hoping to find out where this strength in a crisis comes from.
In battle, Oketsu is generally calm and collected, and will often toy with an opponent before finishing them off. He knows full well how powerful his hollow mask is and tries to only bring it out when it is needed. He often misjudges his opponents based on their looks, although the time he has spent with the brotherhood is slowly eroding his shallow and judgemental nature.
Oketsu only truly hates two things, Arrancar and members of Soul Society Second Squad, as those two races were responsible for his expulsion from Soul Society. He has, however, developed a strong love for human literature, and often hangs out in libraries reading books. This has given him a romanticised view of the world, which often he will manipulate his subordinates to fill out the roles he envisions from his dramatic novels, much to their dismay. To Oketsu, the world is a giant chess game, and he views everyone in life as a piece of the great game, a view which has helped him advance through both shinigami and human society so far, and he believes will continue to do so.
History: As a human, Oketsu lived as a bandit and spent many of his early years robbing passers by until, ate the age of 15, he killed a woman in a robbery. The shock of taking a life was more then he could take, and he dedicated his life towards capturing the bandits who, like him, were terrorising the country side. For six years he lead a group of other reformed bandits in a campaign to wipe out the bandits in the region, and as he moved in to capture the last of the rouges at a mountain fortress, he was killed by one of the men who had fought alongside him. Thus, at the age of 21, Oketsu’s life as a human ended in betrayal.
But this was not where his life ended for, unbeknownst to Oketsu, one of his followers had been a shinigami. Exposure to this shinigami had developed a reasonable amount of reiatsu in Oketsu, enough so that upon his death he was inducted into the shinigami academy, and over the next hundred years he steadily rose through the ranks of soul society until he was promoted to the rank of 3rd Seat Shinigami in the first squad, under the tutelage of the Commander General.
Thirty years after his promotion to 3rd Seat, Oketsu and two unranked shinigami were engaged in battle with a large group of hollows. Despite their best efforts, Oketsu and his fellow shinigami were cut down, and Oketsu lost consciousness. Upon waking, he found piles of broken masks around him, and the bodies of his fellow shinigami. Not quite understanding what had happened, and what had changed, Oketsu continued on with his life in service of soul society.
Seventy years later, after one hundred years of service as a 3rd Seat, (Oketsu was now aged 210 years of age), Oketsu was engaged in battle with a Numero Arrancar. The battle was intense, and Oketsu was on the verge of defeat, until suddenly a voice inside his head spoke to him. The voice promised to give him the power to win, to live, at the cost of his pride. Oketsu did not understand this, and so he accepted the power, and this was the first time he wore his hollow mask. With the combined power of his shikai and his mask, he was able to overpower and defeat the Arrancar, and returned to Soul Society with much acclaim. Members of the second squad, however, had watched the battle, and had noticed his hollowfication.
On the day he was to be promoted to Vice Captain, the second squad attacked him, and forced him to reveal his mask. With this, he was forced to flee soul society, and live in the human world to avoid being hunted down and killed. From that day forth he spent his time working on harmonising his mask and his zanpakuto and his inner hollow, and has worked on mastering both.
Life in the outside world, at first, was tough, he fell in with a gang that was engaged in a brutal turf war with other local gangs, and quickly rose to be the leader of the gang after the death of the former leader. The gang presented him with a Kevlar vest, decorated with the gang’s markings, and with this Oketsu lead the gang to conquer the areas that they had been warring over, and established a monopoly over much illegal activity in the area. Then the brotherhood moved in.
At first, Oketsu fought against the brotherhood forces, but he soon realised he was outgunned, outmanned, and surrounded. He led his gang in surrender, and they were accepted into the brotherhood as a unit with Oketsu at its head. Oketsu lead this unit and from here developed a strong bond with many of the humans in the brotherhood, especially those in his unit, and life was good for him, until everything went wrong.
Oketsu's until was to move to battle a group of hollows who were attacking his old turf area, and so with high spirits they set out to defend their homes. The battle was supposed to be easy, but other gangs had risen up in Oketsu's absence, and Oketsu's unit, besieged by hollows and a united front of all the gangs in the area, was wiped out to the last man, Oketsu.
With the destruction of his unit, Oketsu went into hiding, following rumours he had heard of a syndicate, a group of fallen shinigami just like him. Oketsu has no idea what this group stands for, but he does know that they symbolise a home, they symbolise a family, they symbolise hope.
Zanpakuto
General
Name: Genesis
Spirit Description: Genesis is tall and muscular man who wears ornate white plate mail armour, covered in glowing white runes and carvings. His hair is short and spiked, and is a soft white, tipped with silver. His eyes glow with the same piercing white light as the runes on his armour, and from his back sprout two long white feathered wings, which are usually folded behind him, but are capable of stretching out to a total wingspan of 6 metres. Genesis also has a scar covering his left eye, and the light shining from his left eye is slightly dimmer than the light from his right eye.
Sealed: When sealed, Genesis appears as a regular katana with a 4'6" long blade and a soft white glow to the blade. The hilt is silver, and covered in glowing white runes that replicate those on Genesis’ breastplate.
Shikai
Activation Phrase: Decimate the unholy, Genesis!
Appearance:
Once released, Genesis becomes a 10' long silver spear with a 2' long and ornately shaped and decorated blade, decorated with runes that glow mimic those that decorate Genesis' chest place. Faint trails of light also leak from behind Oketsu while the shikai is active, forming the faint outline of a set of wings.
Abilities: With Genesis active in shikai, Oketsu gains 2 abilities.
The first, Holy Light Slash, is activated by swinging his spear. He is capable of creating a wave of pure white energy that is fired off in the direction of the slash (much like Ichigo/Urahara’s slash moves.) It moves slightly slower than a Cero, but also wields slightly more power, and covers a larger area. This technique uses 3% of Oketsu's total reiatsu.
The second. Holy Light Break, is activated when Oketsu sticks his spear into the ground and fires a move similar to Holy Light Slash, but it travels through the ground, thus it is capable of damaging terrain, and moves considerable faster than Holy Light Slash (half the speed of Bala). The blast travels through the ground, coming up to the average chest height, thus it can be jumped over or sidestepped around reasonably easily. This technique uses 5% of Oketsu's total reiatsu.

Inner Hollow
Appearance:
Inner Hollow: Oketsu’s inner hollow is a visual fusion of both Oketsu and Genesis. It possesses the strong muscular body of Genesis, combined with Genesis’s wings, but it has Oketsu’s face and tone. It wears ripped shinigami robes mimicking Oketsu’s layered over Genesis’ armour. The major difference, however, is that instead of glowing white, the runes on the armour and the hollow’s eyes glow with a dull black light. The hollow also has wings much like Genesis, but the feathers on the wings are black instead of white.
Mask: Oketsu’s hollow mask is a white mask that covers as far back as his ears. The masked is shaped so that it contours to his face, and appears as a skeletal version of his own face. The major difference between Oketsu and his mask is that the teeth are serrated on the mask, and unlike many Vaizard masks the lower jaw of the mask is hinged, allowing it to move as Oketsu speaks. The mask itself is adorned on the right side with runes similar to those on Genesis’ armour which, like the hollow’s armour, glow black. A long glowing black line covers the left eye, copying the scar Genesis bears. The lower jaw has three holes which are perfectly lined up with the piercings in Oketsu’s cheeks, and constantly emit a thin black mist while the mask is being worn.
Visual Effects While Oketsu is wearing his mask, the white glow on his Zanpakuto becomes black, and the same effect is replicated on his shikai and all the white glows are replaced with black glows. The names of all of his shikai abilities are changed from ‘Holy’ to ‘Unholy’.
Disposition: Oketsu gets a long reasonably well with his inner hollow. The hollow has taken much of Oketsu’s personality, and respects that Oketsu is the one in charge, and accepts its subordination. Often it will aid Oketsu when he needs help, and it willingly will lend him its power when asked. The relationship between Genesis and the inner hollow, however, is not so good. Genesis views the inner hollow as an “Unholy beast determined to taint and corrupt the minds of the innocent”, whereas the inner hollow views Genesis as an “Uppity git who needs a swift kick to the hilt.”

Cero: High-powered energy blasts that can be fired from various body parts, such as mouth, tongue, hand or fingers
Shinigami Techniques
Way of Binding: [9] Strike: When cast this kido sends a concentrated orb of red light toward the target at amazing speeds, and if it hits engulfs them in a blinding light that paralyses all their bodily functions for a short period depending on their overall strength.
*Incantation: Disintegrate, you black dog of Rondanini! Look upon yourself with horror and then claw out your own throat!*
Way of Binding: [23] Journey:
This kido causes a person affected by this kido to believe they are running away, and they will continue to do so in the illusion created by this kido, however in truth their body remains motionless. This lasts for a single post, and requires eye contact to come into effect, but can be deadly when used on an opponent in mid air. The incantation is:
"Never ending path, guide the lost along your way, and leave their shells behind."
Way of Destruction: [31] Shot of Red Fire: Fires a ball of red energy at the target
*Incantation: Ye Lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Inferno and pandemonium, the sea barrier surges, March on to the south!*
Way of Destruction:[54] Abolishing Flames: Incinerates a target completely.
Way of Binding: [61] Six Rods of Prison Light: Summons six thin, but wide, beams of light that slam into a target's midsection, holding them in place. A moving target is hard to hit with this kido, but one standing still is a near guaranteed hit due to its amazing speed. However for a level 60 kido it is fairly weak, anyone stronger than the user would be able to break out of it if given some time.
*Incantation: Carriage of thunder. Bridge of a spinning wheel. With light, divide this into six.*
Way of Binding: [61] Chains of Fury
This tricky kido causes chains of pure reiatsu to rise from the ground and ensnare the target. The chains move very quickly and home in on a target, making dodging very hard. The more physical force is applied to the chains, the stronger they become, however a simple kido will destroy them instantly. Because it is such a rare kido to learn, however, most people are unaware of the weakness of these chains, and will struggle to escape fruitlessly. The incantation is:
“Chain of heaven, restrain the impure, and bind those who would wield their strength against you.”
Way of Destruction: [69] Wave of Destruction:
This kido allows the user to fire a shockwave in every direction that has enough force to knock most things hit by it down, and is often used to level forests. Only very weak people, however, will actually receive serious damage from the wave. The incantation is:
“Waves of light and dark surge forth, and clear the way for a new day’s birth.”
Way of Binding: [75] Quintet of Iron Pillars: Summons five incredibly tall and thick pillars to pin a target to the ground. The pillars themselves fall from the sky and pushes anything which gets in their way onto the ground and holds them there. Though hard to hit with, it is incredibly sturdy and only excessive physical strength can break this kido.
*Incantation: Walls of iron sand, a priestly pagoda, glowing ironclad fireflies. Standing upright, silent to the end.*

Oketsu knelt before the Commander General, knowing full well that today he was to accept the rank of Vice Captain of the First Squad. As the Commander walked towards him with the arm brace that represented the rank of Vice Captain, one of the greatest honours bestowed on a shinigami. As he rose to accept the brace, a familiar voice echoed through his head, ”You are not alone.”[/i] Oketsu looked up to see three shinigami standing around him with their Zanpakuto activated. Oketsu looked around in bewilderment, ”What is the meaning of this?” One of the shinigami stepped forward, ”We are from the second squad, we saw your battle with the Arrancar, we know all about your hollowfication.” Oketsu sighed and drew Genesis from its sheath, running his hand along the blade, ” Decimate the unholy, Genesis!” Oketsu sword split into two long spears, glowing with white light.
The three shinigami of the second squad leaped forth, bringing their swords down at Oketsu, who sidestepped and swung his spears towards his attackers. One of them was caught by the pole of the blade and flew back as the wind was forced out of his chest and he slammed into a pillar behind him. The other two were able to dodge, and both raised their arms towards Oketsu, firing off blasts of kido at him. Oketsu was still injured from his battle with the Arrancar, and was unable to move fast enough to avoid the blasts, which collided with his arms, one at the shoulder and the other at the elbow. Oketsu was forced to his knees as a searing pain shot through him and he dropped his spears, which crashed down onto the ground as the remaining two shinigami walked towards him slowly. Suddenly the voice crept through his head again, ”I warned you, if you take my power you must give up your pride as a shinigami. I will lend you my power again, and you will run, and we will survive.” Oketsu leaned his head forward as small white ships flew through the air and began to cover his face, and the once white glow of his spears turned a dull black.
“See, Commander General, your Vice Captain is nothing more than a pathetic excuse for a shinigami. He is no longer worthy of standing beside us in battle, and for that we will deal with him now at your behest.” Oketsu grabbed his spear and moved quickly upwards, cleaving through both of the shinigami that were advancing on him. He then looked over to the Commander General, and sighed a thin black mist through his mask, ”Commander General, I am sorry.” Oketsu leaped up onto the roof of a nearby building, and began to move towards the Senkai gate. Other shinigami moved to capture him, but the Commander General belayed the order, he still had high hopes for his protégé, and this was not how he wanted this story to end.
