Location: Finland, Helsinki. Note: Any character under roughly 100 years can be one of these people "drawn" to the city. However you know just as little as Azerin about it. Sorry about the short opening post, dunno what else to write for it. The city of Helsinki, the capital of Finland was a beautiful place with plenty of sights for a tourist to see. With it's varied houses and architecture every street had something unique to offer for those who enjoyed such. That which stood out amongst all the other houses however were the Cathedral that stood near the cities port, standing high above the other three-to-five story buildings around it with it's clean white walls and jade-colored dome towers. It was atop this very building that a tired but restless looking figure lay, beside the large spire in the buildings center the man who looked to be in his late teens, clothed in black clothing that had become torn at the edges and a few other places, reminiscent of a shinigami's robe and yet different. There were some signs of bleakened gold embroidery at the torn edges, but it almost seemed like if that had been purposefully ripped off... There were however far more outstanding traits for this man, in particular the broken mask which covered nearly half of his face left side, it's surface a clean white much like the building itself, while it had deep purple colored markings that seemed to slither out of the eye-socket and near the chin. Though closed at the moment the eye behind the mask was a golden color, while the other was emerald green. The man had sharp features making up his face, with shoulder-length white almost silvery hair that covered parts of his face currently as he laid there unmoving. He had a slim but muscular build, however like with his face there seemed to be something wrong with the rest of his body as well as his left arm was covered in the same white carapace, forming claws on his hand and armor-like protrusions along the 'upp' side of his arm all the way up to the shoulder where it seemed about to grow into a spiked shoulder-guard. Though most of the rest were covered, it was clear he also had growths along the left side of his chest and along his spine on his back. As well as on the lower portion of his right leg. He almost looked like an Arrancar in ressurection, however the sheated blade next to him, and the lack of a visible hole seemed to dismiss this theory. No, he was something else entirely... He was Zhiel Azerin, former third seat of tenth division and currently the host for Kalverian Kehieleth, the sixth Vasto Lorde. Why was he at such a place? That was a question he himself could not answer. Ever since he regained control of his body he had tried to find something, someone who could help him. He was afraid, no doubt about that, but it was not for his own damned soul but for what the hollow that was corrupting his soul would do once it achieved full dominance. What it had already done when it had used his body sickened him, but he had to fight it somehow... The Masked Syndicate had been unable to help him, rather the hollows emergence during the time had most likely doomed any hope he might have had of their help. And it had been made clear to him right away that his condition was unique... Him, unlike them, had taken in an outside hollow, rather than an inner one being awakened. In the end, he had come here because he had felt drawn to this place. But now once here, it was like if the feeling had disappeared. Yet he could not feel any drive to leave this place behind just yet... During his week of being in this city Azerin had observed a few things occuring, what was probably of most interest to someone of his kind was the sudden increase in spiritual activity in the area, it had been abnormally high when he first came here, but since then it had only increased. It would not surprise him if Soul Society sent someone to investigate soon, thus he had to lay low or leave... It was surprising he had yet to be tracked down by the second divisions agents, but he should probably be thankfull for that... Knowing Yun the captain would most likely want to personally take charge of it, and he did not have the heart to face the man he respected the most, after what he had become... There were more than just spiritual activity here however, the reason for the increased spiritual activity could very well have been caused by the sudden amount of spiritually aware, or at least people with powerful souls, arriving in the city. Of those he had observed he saw no co-relation, they all seemed separate of one another and most did not even seem to be able to see spirits despite their far larger than normal reiatsu pools. Yet there was something... Unsettling... About them, perhaps it was just he who felt this, it was like his soul was resonating, and it made him feel tense. In the midst of this, he could not help but have a bad feeling, something bad was about to happen and yet he had no idea of what and that annoyed him... Without much thought he reached out and grasped the sheath of Hitozarai as he lifted the katana up infront of him. "You wouldn't happen to know anything, would you?" As he'd expected his only response was silence... "Heh.. Yeah, I guess I'm just being paranoid..." He said to himself as he put the sword back down beside him once again. Something would happen in this city, but only one 'person' knew what.

Leaving the room was better than entering Aiko decided as he clambered; his hangover still lightly dousing his motor skills, out of the commander general’s office. He had been summoned on this day for a few reasons. One the eleventh division was once again missing a captain and it was his duty to take over all of the captains responsibilities. He might as well have the title he thought to himself. He did after all have a close tie to the division and have a strong control over the seated officers; they showed him respect and he showed them leadership. Aiko was by no means easy on them but he was fair. The second reason Aiko had been beckoned was he was given a mission. He would be sent far from Tokyo (A usual hotspot for activity and one of the few places Aiko loved to fight) and to a different society. A place where usually hollow where spotted few and far and activity was uncommon. This time Aiko would be travelling to Finland. Helsinki… It was a good thing and a bad thing he decided as he started to make his way out of the building. Good thing is well he was investigating the sudden spike of activity in the area he could grab a drink. He had heard beer in Finland was great! Ten times stronger than sake and there was defiantly enough to kill his hangover.
“So Miyu, I guess command finally thinks I am competent enough to deserve some field time.” Aiko says as he rounds a corner and smiles at a passerby female shinigami. His thoughts flashing to the idea of settling down one day with a wife and live the simple life…. Of a boring old man that does nothing but them god damn cross word puzzles, the idea frustrating him now he decides to reach in his robes and pull out a flask sipping from it. He wipes his lips with his bare arm since the sleeves of his shinigami robes have been torn off to give him more flexibility in battle. Yes battle, Aiko’s true passion. He could go years without a woman as long as he could fight. Well… maybe not years.
His exact assignment was to go and check out why so many souls have been flocking like a herd to Finland. If the situation calls for a fight then he is already there. If not then Aiko is to return back to sereitei and report any oddities to the Gotei 13. He couldn’t help but think this sounded like reckon. Maybe the soul society wasn’t privileging him but punishing him. Maybe they were sick of rebuilding dojo’s in eleventh division quarters because Aiko loved to fight hard, and used his officers to train; sometimes as many as five or six seated men at once. His zanjutsu was almost unmatched among the shinigami in the Gotei 13 and he easily had the best of any shinigami his rank. Still though Aiko was slightly nervous about getting into a large scale confrontation. He wasn’t scared but nervous; like the feeling you get right before someone has a go at you about something and you know they’re going to do it. He had however thought of a new way to use his shikai. If he got into trouble he could handle himself. Aiko chuckled to himself as he made his way to the gates of the first division’s quarters and exited. Of course he was going to get into a fight, hell he would probably start it. Then again Aiko knew he would enjoy it in the end anyways.

The air here was full of reitsu. No this wasn’t reitsu…but I was something. It was so strong Aiko felt lightheaded when he arrived; though that could have been the alcohol. Aiko shrugged not very sure of what it was. At first he started to write down some notes on the paper but decided ‘fuck it’ and tossed them aside. He was here to gather some information have a drink and leave. Nothing more and nothing less. Unless some hollow or other bastard reared there ugly head and came asking for an ass whooping. Now the alcohol was starting to take affect and Aiko felt better. Hangover gone and he could function like normal. Aiko jumped from rooftop to rooftop without destination. He could sense another reitsu in the area. It was odd. It was like hollows yet… not. This whole damn place was odd to him. Aiko decided to sit and look around. This particular building he was sitting on was large; about ten stories high. It was an off blue, kind of like denim blue. There were towers in each corner of the building. Larger rectangular towers that jut straight into the air. Aiko has no love for architecture but if he has to fight, they make nice shields.
Aiko rested his shoulders against the towers and closed his eyes. The entire city seemed strange. It was flooded with energy. With something foreign, alien to him. He wanted it. Aiko wanted what ever it was but had no idea what “it” indeed could be. He decided he wanted more sake as he tossed the empty flask off the roof and closed his eyes. Maybe if he was lucky his wish would be granted. Maybe if he was lucky the problem would come straight to him instead of him having to search for it. Maybe if he was lucky… he would be in fucking Finland.

"You unholy filth! What's your plans with those hollows!"
It was a warehouse, dark, the smell of blood, grease and burnt flesh clung to this particular memory as painfully as the flames had clung to the armor of the Polish-born warrior. Burning spiritual energy seeping into every tiniest nook and crevice of the heavy, technologically engineered suit that had for years served as the Battle Operative's shield against the claws and blows of the masked demons known to called Hollows, just as madness and pain had seeped its way into his mind every day since that failed mission in Karakura Town. The day that he was laying in the cold concrete of some hidden lab, burning alive only to be saved from that masked abomination of a shinigami by one of the men whom he hated most of all.
Someday, I'll kill you, thought the wounded man, as he heard Derrick make his dramatic entrence like some sort of action hero.
“We thought you might be having a problem. Please stay out of the way.”
Such arrogance in the words that rang in his head everytime he recollected that battle, how Daniel despised his savior so, more than the fact that he himself was able to refer to Derrick as such. There was only one man alive who deserves the title of "Savior" in the mind of Daniel Conrad, the only true savior none other than Richard Mallory, the man who would cleanse the world of the filthy, unholy spirits that had infested the planet.
----------
"There he is!" "He's still alive... Get a medical transport here immediately!" "Yes sir, right away!"
"Boss... I'm sorry, I've failed you..."
"Hey pilot, hurry this thing up, we have to get him back to HQ before he dies!" "We should have just left the bastard, he's even worse than the hollows we kill." "Aiasa! This is a Battle Operative you're talking about, show some resp-" "This man's a monster! I know what kind of person he is, killed more innocent civilians were supposed to be protecting and our own comrades than - " "That's enough Private, you seem to know yourself that that man isn't the kind of person you want to piss off." "He's the kind of man who doesn't deserve to live, sir, and its a waste of time and money to try and save someone who won't survive these injuries, and even if he does make it, he wouldn't deserve to. He's worse than the worst." "Shut up Aiasa, monster or no, he's on our side. He kills hollows. That's all there is to it, so just drop it."
Someday, I'll kill you, thought Daniel as he caught bits and pieces of conversation as he slipped in and out of consciousness in the back of the transport as he was being flown back to the NWO Headquarters to be saved in an operation that would not only change him forever, but also mark a notable benchmark in the history of military technology that would remain hidden from the rest of the world. A mere regular, not even an ELITE dared speak of Daniel so in his presence? The poor fool would have probably never said anything of the sort if it was clear that the monster he spoke so lowly off was going to survive that ordeal. Then again, probably nobody suspected at the time that anybody would be able to survive such deep burns, not even Daniel himself if he didn't have such a strong will to survive, and to kill. And that waiting for him was already a team of scientists waiting for just the perfect opportunity to create a human weapon unlike anything ever seen before outside of comic books and science fiction.
----------
"He's going to make it, part one of the operation: successful. Good work gentlemen, now lets have him prepared for the next phase as soon as we can, there's not much time we have before we can undergo the part two of the operation without having to inject him to insure that the implants can synchronize with his own spiritual energy. I'd much rather we get this underway while his own natural spirit energy is as it is, so let the president know that the procedure will begin in three hours time."
What, part two? What are they talking about, what does the Boss have planned for me? Am I being granted a second chance at fulfilling my duty to serve Boss to eradicate them, or am I being punished for my failure...
Over the course of three hours, enough doses of powerful painkillers and tranquilizers were injected into Daniel's body to kill an elephant, surely, but as was needed in order for the half-dead man to not awaken from what had to be ungodly amounts of painful torment thanks to his condition so that the NWO scientists could perform their operation on him to make him able to fight again, and greater than he'd ever been before, greater than any normal human could hope to become. Despite being under huge amounts of chemically-induced rest, the unconscious man could still feel probes and wires and pricks and zaps tingling his battered and charred excuse of a body. Every few hours, there would be the need for the surgeons and technicians to swap out and rest as someone else took their shift undertaking the colossal task of not merely healing Daniel, but reconstructing him altogether. In his sleep he could feel burned flesh and tendons being dissected, needles injecting fluids of only they know what into his bones, concentrated rays of spiritual energy irradiating his wounds as his insides were being pulled apart and damaged organs and tissues being removed and mysterious substances alien to nature's design being knit together and woven where living flesh once held together. Even towards the end, the subconscious Daniel could swear that his own skin was being scrapped and peeled away as layers of nanite-woven membranes and clear collagen-like resin coated him to replace the largest organ of his being.
On two separate occasions, the pain was becoming unbearable and his blood pressure would being to rise at an alarming rate only to have different doses of chemicals and radiations being blasted into him to settle him down again into a drowsy, predominately unconscious state. The entire operation must have taken at least over thirty hours of nonstop surgery, and afterwords they were proud to announce that they had successfully performed what most considered to be an impossible operation to save Daniel's life. After another eighteen hours of sleep, Daniel roused from his slumber to find himself alive and only the slightest bit sore considering what he had just went through. Inspecting himself, he realized that he was far from what he would like to consider human considering he had been fully human for over 30 years prior. He essentially lacked any sort of external genitalia, which came as the largest shock to him as would to any man, even more than the fact that the skin from his neck down was clearly artificially designed despite being able to feel the cold slab of stainless steel below his back, the cold tile floor below his feel, the cold mechanical organs inside of his body that sustained his life. He was cold, which was the main reason why he walked the floor and robed himself in the hospital gown hanging on the wall.
He would later be interviewed and he explained that the cold feeling was his only reason for dressing up at the time, to hell with modesty, considering the lack of anything between his legs to actually hide now. Over the next few weeks, psychologists would continue to assess Daniel's mental state and physicians would monitor his body's progress in adapting to his new body. His movements were stiff at first but after not long at all his posture and form began to flow as if he was 100% natural flesh. After about a month of rehabilitation from the surgery and therapy to ensure that it his body was in a condition for it to be safe for himself and his mind sane enough to be safe for others, he was permitted to undergo intensive training so he may regain his position as a Battle Operative. Little did the experts in charge of assessing him realize just how cunning he really was and how unreliable something like sanity could be, and there was nothing anyone could do to prevent him from doing something he had vowed to do after someone did something he was warned not to do.
After being given a clear bill of health and sanity, Daniel discreetly found his way to the records of every person involved in the mission to reclaim the facilities in Karakura months ago, and using his clearance as a Battle Operative, uncovered the identity of a certain Private Hiroshi Aiasa that had accompanied the crew of paramedics that rushed him back to HQ. There was something that Daniel wanted with the man that had called him 'a monster undeserving to live' and 'worse than a hollow' as memory served. One late afternoon, Private Aiasa was proceeding to return from a patrol on the outskirts of Tokyo, when a sudden flux of spirit pressure had caught the attention of the radar inside of his helmet and he found himself investigating a back alleyway in search of some plus or maybe even a small hollow, so he was on full alert for the worst. Unfortunately for him, what he encountered was in his own words, "worse than the worst."
The private was ambushed and pinned against a brick wall, arms restrained by a pair of bionic limbs encased in a dark skintight armor that could have easily crushed the smaller man's body with little effort at all if he was not wearing armor himself. After being thrown to the ground, Aiasa rolled onto his back, reaching for his sidearm only to notice his shadowy assailant already stood looming over him and had a pistol aimed at his head point blank.
"Are you NWO?" Aiasa questioned hysterically, noticing the insignia on the armor of his adversary. "We're on the same side, you're insane!"
"I am aware of both of those facts, fool." Spoke the imposing figure who proceeded to open fire, shooting Aiasa twice with his tazer gun, disabling the sensors and tracking devices inside the private's MK 1 armor and paralyzing him temporarily so that he couldn't resist the cruelty to come. Crouching over his victim, he removed the helmet of the downed man and opened his own helmet's visor, Aiasa's face turning to pure horror as he stared face to face with the very same Daniel Conrad whom he had been warned to not make an enemy of.
"I believe you said something you regret, Aiasa."
Spoke Daniel, his usually dark eyes glowing a bright gold that sunk deep into Aiasa's mind. Using the situation to his full advantage, Daniel intended to make the man suffer before he died. Despite his wording, he didn't want an apology in the slightest, he was simply going to force the man to acknowledge that he was going to die, Daniel wanted to torture Aiasa to death if he could help it and he wanted Aiasa to know that he was undoubtedly going to die by the man who was once a charred half-corpse that he had insisted was better off dead. Staring into Aiasa's eyes, Daniel began imposing his will into his victim's head so he would not be able to fight back as Daniel stuck his combat knife into Aiasa's leg at a joint in his armor, and wiggled it about and ran the blade up and down through his red flesh, taking in the sight and smell of him bleeding out painfully as Daniel found more and more chinks in his armor to stab and inflict deep lacerations over and over again until he got bored of the man's grimaces and painful moans and pathetic cries for somebody to save him.
At that point, Daniel, who had intentionally avoided stabbing the arm, used his hypnotic abilities to its most terrifying capacities. He at first contemplated making Aiasa shoot himself in the head, but doing so would be too quick in his opinion, instead he decided that he would force the man to tamper with his own suit of armor in order to trigger the self-destruct failsafe built in to prevent NWO technology from falling into enemy hands. Daniel began to walk away from Aiasa stepping outside of the blast radius of the impending explosion intended to reduce the suit and its inhabitant to nothingness. As effective as thus was for keeping NWO technology secret, it also would make it impossible for an investigation to discern the events leading up to the suit's destruction and thus nobody would be able to prove that Daniel had in fact tortured and brought about the death of one of his own comrades. Daniel freed Aiasa from his control just soon enough for the man to panic and use his last moments alive as a free man unable to save his own life. The screams as his body was reduced to dust were spectacular to Daniel as he turned to leave the scene and call it a night back at his beloved NWO, now that he had accomplished killing one of the men whom he had sworn he would. In time, others would die by their own hands thanks to him, and in time he would eventually take his place next to Richard as his right-hand man, and the absolutely obedient weapon of bringing about the will of God, the eradication of all Spirits.
----------
Several months had passed since that night, and just as predicted, Daniel was never implicated in the murder of Private Hiroshi Aiasa, whom was later reported missing in action and tracked down to his last known location where all they found were the remains of a NWO regular whose armor had been tampered with and incinerated. If Daniel had been wearing his full armor, it would be all over thanks to the tracking devices that would pin them together, but since he underwent the dark deed in only his basic underarmor all that was known was that he was out hunting hollows in his new body. Suffice to say, tracking systems and the NWO's radar grid were improved since Aiasa's death to ensure similar events wouldn't repeat themselves.
Daniel had received his new mission orders from Richard in the morning and by noon that day he was onboard a secret flight from the Mallory Arms Corp World Headquarters stationed in Tokyo to Stockholm, Sweeden, and then from there a second short flight later he found himself 400 kilometers northeast standing in the Finnish capital, Helsinki. The air in this city was nostalgic, cold and fresh, rich with spiritual energy in the atmosphere that only meant one thing, there were going to be pluses to pursue, hollows to hunt, and even shinigami to slay if he were fortunate. Daniel stood fully suited up in his powerful MK 2 armor, helmet open of course to take a fresh breath of clean air and to observe the far off cathedral, its grand white walls and green down that once served to commemorate Nicholas I, 19th-century Tsar of Russia, Grand Duke of Finland, and King of Poland from where Daniel himself was from, and thus the only reason why he knew anything about the history of the now-called Helsinki Cathedral.
There were reports of an increase of spirit activity in this metropolitan district of over 580,000 inhabitants, and thus it was up to Daniel to make sure that hollows and anything else that might show itself would be kept in check, along with a platoon of 20 NWO soldiers including 5 ELITES under his direct command, not that he really had any desire to order them about but at least they would do their jobs at covering ground and keeping a patrol in the region. For now, Daniel would decide he'd best take to the streets to familiarize himself with the city before any major problems were given the chance to arise, and who knows what could possibly have happened with Daniel wandering about fully armed in a metropolis of spiritually blessed individuals deemed to become the World Design Capital come 2012. Maybe he'd meet a familiar face, maybe the king of Hell would challenge him and the NWO ELITES to a match of Pesäpallo, maybe Daniel would find a sweet bargain on Froot Loops for sale at a grocery store. Truth be told, Daniel wasn't sure what he would find here in Finland, but he did sense that there was something foreboding and that if he himself were to be sent here then there had to be something dangerous hidden somewhere here and it would only be time before it revealed itself to Daniel.

Ah Finland, currently the second most stable country in the living world, and the source of more than a few tourists. It's capital was also known as the party city of the country, for reasons that Shin didn't really get. But then, he was never much of a party-goer even in life....
Besides, he wasn't here to see the sights, he had bigger reasons for coming not only to the living world, but so far away from Tokyo. With the loss of the third and fourth seats, combined with the vice-captain's promotion to captaincy, Shin was essentially stuck with the vice-captain's responsibilities until further notice, and, far more importantly, without the other two around, all missions that needed one of the stronger division members without involving the captain immediately defaulted to him. Doing the job of three seats by himself was not a pleasant thing.
Then there was the incident with the true training area. The only reason Tsuno hadn't gone at him about that yet was likely because he was only recently released from the fourth division after a certain spirit nearly crushed all his organs. As it was, he was still wondering how he managed to survive that without any serious long lasting injuries.
That wasn't to say that he got off without any mementos; he had more than enough scars from that incident. His uniform hid most of them, but there was nothing that could be done about the four lines moving diagonally upwards on his right cheek, the upper one just missing his eye. In retrospect, it was a pretty cool looking scar, even if it hurt like hell to get it.
But, back to why he was here; there was reason to believe that a runaway shinigami was in the area; a Zhiel Azerin, former third seat from the tenth division. Or at least someone matching his description closely enough to draw attention. The report was a bit sketchy though, to the point that instead of sending an entire team, they sent him to investigate the validity. Then of course, there was the odd reiatsu here.
He wasn't sure why, but something about the area felt... unsettling. Soul Society thought so too, seeing as they sent a vice-captain to investigate that. Which led to the second part of his mission; keep an eye on him and make sure that he doesn't cause too much destruction. Personally, Shin thought that someone dropped the ball when they sent anyone from eleventh division to investigate anything that required some degree of subtlety. To make matters worse, he knew the guy that they sent, and they didn't exactly get along, which meant that Shin needed to avoid him to prevent another pointless fight.
He stood on one of the lower building close to the cathedral, cloaked in a Hyakko kido with his reiatsu low to avoid attention; if Azerin was really in the area, he didn't want him getting any advance warning.... although with Aiko here, that was all but impossible considering how the eleventh division behaved.
Mentally cursing about the insanity of the situation, Shin cracked his knuckles, the slight clang of metal resounding as his hands came together, before silently moving on to the cathedral roof; a better view of the city couldn't hurt.

OOC: Personal thought but... I don't think Kyakko is meant to work with a moving target. The number is just way too low for a perfect stealth kido. "Was it truly wise to give Conrad command of this mission sir?" An aged man asked, he had greying blonde hair and a wrinkled face, wearing typical square-shaped glasses that reflected the light from a large monitor on the wall opposite of where he stood obscuring his slightly faint blue eyes. Mostly all of his body was covered by a clean white lab-coat that was buttoned up and without a single visible wrinkle, contrary to his face, and despite his apparent age he stood with a straight back and seemed to have a sharp mind. Infront of the monitor, observing large amounts of data scrolling across the screen stood a tall man who was dressed in a black business suit and short somewhat spiked dark blonde hair with his arms folded behind his back. "I trust few as I do Daniel. Since his... Reconstruction, he has shown magnificent results, and I do not believe this will be any different." Richard Mallory, the president of Mallory Arms and the New World Order said to the scientists who now stepped a bit closer, as a slight tinge of worry seeped from the mans otherwise calm demeanour. "Sir, if I may speak freely. Mr. Conrad's loyalty is not in question however we cannot fully ascertain his mental condition, for while our tests show he is fully capable... And while this may be somewhat unscientific of me to say this, he makes me feel uneasy. I get this feeling something is not right with him..." As the scientist spoke he made the unconscious motion to re-affix his glasses, something which those who knew the man would know was a sign of him being either nervous or anxious. "I simply do not believe sending him as the only commanding officer for this mission is safe and-" The scientist was cut off as Richard turned around and interrupted him as he began to speak himself, this made the scientist shut up right away, out of respect or fear of his superior was hard to say. "Doctor Schteinn, I value your opinion highly as the lead scientist of the Super-Soldier Revitalization Project, however when you cleared him for active duty your responsibility of him ended. Whatever actions he performs that may be harmful to our organization, though unlikely, will not affect your position within the NWO. There is no need for you to concern yourself further with this, all responsibility lies with me. Now more importantly, what progress have been achieved on the project?" --- We're not alone... The dark, echoing voice of Hitozarai said in Azerin's mind. This surprised Azerin, not the words per-see, but that Hitozarai had taken the initiative and spoken to him first. Hitozarai was... Not very social to put it lightly, and rarely spoke unless it was something of great importance. "Yes, I can sense a shinigami's reiatsu somewhere nearby..." He said in response as he sat up from his position on the cathedral's roof. It was like the city was shrouded in a mist of reiatsu, and it made detection fairly difficult which was probably why he hadn't noticed the guy before now, however that also meant it was unlikely the person had noticed him who were suppressing his reiatsu signature as much as he was capable of. You are too focused at what is at your feet, Azerin... The spirit then said, it's voice almost sounding disappointed... Azerin was pretty confused by this, though he decided to ignore it for now. He needed to move, this place gave a great view of the surroundings for him however it was likely that if this other Shinigami was here to investigate the strange influx of spiritual energy he'd make use of a location with a good view to scout the surroundings, just like this cathedral. He was just about to move out when he suddenly felt like a shadow passed over him, but as he looked up he saw nothing... Was that other Shinigami here already..? No, he could still sense the person a few ways off, had he just imagined it? Whether he had or not he desperately needed to get out of there and with that in mind Azerin fastened Hitozarai's scabbard under his belt before he stood up and began to silently move toward the edge of the roof, before he dropped down below and began to run at full speed away from the docks side of the city deeper into it's center. Whether he had been noticed or not, he could not tell. However he dearly hoped this was not the case as now was not the time for him to get caught up in a fight... --- As this occurred Aiko would be able to pick up the sound of screaming coming from further away from the cathedral, and if he followed these screams he'd be able to pick up the presence of a hollow and... Something else. If he continued to follow this trail he'd find a couple Plus spirits that came running out of a long narrow alley between two larger buildings, as what was incredibly similar to a napalm explosion burst out of the opening, completely incinerating one of the plus and catching another, a girl that seemed to be barely a teenager on fire. And even as she screamed in pain and fear she was quickly turned to ash before anything could be done for her, if Aiko would have in the first place. If Aiko approached the opening into the alley he'd find huge scorch marks on the walls of the buildings and the ground itself, where some trash and other objects were still on fire. However what was most eye-catching of this was the four meter tall, heavily burned and currently disintegrating hollow that stood turned toward the alley exit like if frozen in place after receiving it's 'death blow'. Behind the hollow stood a woman who appeared to be in her early thirties with an obvious western look about her. She had a pale skin-tone and shoulder-length dark brown hair, with most of it tied up in a loose sitting ponytail at the back of her head while a sizeable amount had been left alone on the right side of her forehead as it hung down over her right eye. She had a sharp heart-shaped face with soft features and a button nose, thin eyebrows and no make-up however this did nothing to deteriorate from how beautiful she was. The smirk that adorned her lips at the moment would only complement these features if not for the cold, uncaring look in her gold colored eyes. She was dressed in what could only be referred to a militaristic style, with a white shirt with a collar and a black tie around her neck over which she wore a dark grey military 'jacket' that could almost be mistaken for a business suit if not for the black leather belt around her waist with a suspender that sat loosely from the left side and went over her right shoulder before it was fastened again at the left. Over her waist she wore a fairly short pleated skirt, slightly darker in color than her jacket and from there her thighs were bare down until her knees where she wore knee-high thin black leather boots that was near skin-tight. Her hands were covered by thin white gloves, with which she was just in the motion of sheathing what was unmistakably a Zanpakutou, however there was no doubt that she was not a spirit. As the hollow disintegrated into spirit particles, it was nearly like if they were drawn toward the woman rather than randomly dispersed into the atmosphere. However this could very well be a coincidence. OOC: Here's a picture of the lady not mine just to clarify, but I felt it was too awesome not to use, also it's hard to describe her properly xD Galihan, I'm not sure what to do with Daniel at the moment, though you're free to act as you want, though keep in mind that as long as he's in his suit he can't sense reiatsu and as they are outside Tokyo/Japan their suit radar is pretty limited until they've set up a proper network there (which will happen in a short while.) If anyone's got any questions for me feel free to PM me or message me on AIM.

He landed on the rooftop, moving to the central pillar and taking a better look at his surroundings. As it was, he couldn't see anyone else, and all he could sense through the reiatsu fog was the faint sense of Aiko off somewhere. Still, he couldn't shake the feeling that there there was something else around, like something was trying itself as much as he was.
A faint sound of movement put him on alert, as he froze, body tensed up, as he actually looked right beneath him. His eyes widened in some surprise as he saw a shinigami run to the roof edge..... if they could be called a shinigami.
His uniform resembled a torn shinigami's uniform, but the half mask on his face gave Shin the impression of an arrancar. The silver hair, and hollowified left arm confirmed his identity as his target, but from the reports, the mask and new growths were certainly new. It was like he was a vizard, slowly losing himself to his inner hollow. This would make apprehending him much harder; it might be possible to reason with the shinigami, but if his hollow was in control, he wasn't going to get anywhere with just words.
And considering that he already killed a shinigami sent after him....
Under any event, he now had a problem. He wasn't sure if Azerin noticed him or if he was just spooked, but he was running now. It was one thing for Shin to chase after him, but the Hyakko kido was like a chameleon's skin; while it would hide him as long as he stayed relatively still, the moment he broke into a full run, the distortion would make his location obvious, and he did not need Azerin to start using his zanpakuto ability. He didn't have much choice in the matter though, leaving his best option to be to try to stop him before he was able to get to the heart of the city, where it would be much easier to hide his location. He didn't have time to call for backup, lest he lose track of the rogue, so it was time for some exercise.
Watching his current path, Shin walked to the edge of the pillar, bracing himself against it. Using it as a support, he shot off the structure, zooming towards Azerin. Hoping for the reiatsu fog to hide his presence until he closed distance, Shin aimed his hand at where the rogue would likely end up, muttering an incantation.
"Bakudo #61, Rikujōkōrō."
If he was lucky, Azerin wouldn't pick up on his presence until it was too late. Otherwise, at least with the force he launched himself with, he had good odds of catching up with him before he hit the city proper.

While he was no longer truly human, instead he was now more akin to a completely humanoid weapon designed to battle the evil spirit monsters known as hollows and shinigami, complete with the entire library of memories and nearly an identical personality to the man who he used to be. Yes, Daniel Conrad was not entirely the same Battle Operative in the head that he used to be, but then again there would probably be no human alive who could survive being burned alive and rebuilt without some serious post-traumatic stress disorder. For Daniel however, the overall effects of his PTSD were both beneficial to his faction overall and the cause of much suffering to those who'd ever cross his path. Post-reconstruction, the therapy taken to treat the PTSD that Daniel was sure to have been suffering was a difficult matter to address for certain people such as Dr. Schteinn, who was in charge of Daniel prior to the Battle Operative being cleared for active duty, as the patient's usual nature before the incident was that of violent aggression and fighting with reckless abandon. What the treatment was good for, however, was making the usually violence-inclined Daniel able to control his rage, store it and focus it when needed. Only against hollows and shinigami did he show signs of anger or lash out at aggressively, but deep down there was now a dark, dangerous side to him that was also more refined, that being his sadistic, murderous nature that arose when he truly held a personal grudge against another individual.
It was that criminal-like mind that made Daniel the most dangerous, the mindset that made him months prior hunt down and torture Pvt. Hiroshi Aiasa to death, that made him want to repay the shinigami-hollow that burned him alive in the first place, and to someday do away with Derrick so that he himself could take the position as Richard's second-in-command. It was the dark desire to replace Derrick that had made Daniel more reliable to the NWO as a whole, having since reconstruction become more interested in ascending the ranks and thus since doing so would require being able to command others below him, Daniel was able to put aside his dislike for the weak in favor of his personal desires. That is why Daniel Conrad was able to accept being made commanding officer of the commando unit "Deltawolf" sent to investigate the disturbence in Helsinki, Finland.
The reiatsu that shrouded this city was thick and ominous despite the clear sky and fresh air coming off the Baltic Sea. Something was not right with Helsinki, but it made Daniel feel somewhat at ease for the first time since the reconstruction of his body asides from the sensation of relief that came from the murder of Aiasa. This same ominousness made many of the soldiers of Deltawolf uneasy, whom many were already worried when word got out that their commander for the operation was to be Daniel Conrad. The 5 ELITES and 15 Regulars were all somewhat suspicious at first of the Battle Operative, but his post-reconstruction attitude seemed to bring about somewhat of a morale boost to the men, if any man could feel at ease in this place when the rest of the unit could not, then he was deserving of some respect at least. None of them would realize that the source of their officer's mentality was the minuscule, undetectable presence of reiatsu that tweaked Daniel's instinct, telling him that his nemesis, the masked shinigami, was somewhere in this city even if he did not know that himself.
The thick spiritual fog was going to delay the synchronization of the NWO's personal equipment with their personal network being set up to observe Helsinki, but nonetheless Daniel was determined to do a patrol of the nearby districts. If they were unable to have a proper network for their radar systems established, then at least they could do something of a reconnaissance mission on foot in the meantime. Deltawolf was divided into five teams of three regulars and a single ELITE, three teams assigned to keep watch of their small base of operations on a small island east of the city's Töölö District, while Daniel led the two other teams towards Tuomiokirkko, the green-roofed cathedral that dominated the skyline to the city's east-end. Despite lacking a proper radar system running for now, and their suits' stealth systems hindering the ability of the men inside to sense spirit pressures, with the visor of his helmet open and exposed to the fresh air, he was able to get the most vague idea that something was happening near that cathedral.
The six regulars, 2 ELITES and the Battle Operative maneuvered down the streets until they reached the Olympic Stadium just east of their base, where suddenly from he small bay to their southeast, Töölö Lake, erupted a piercing howl that gave away the direction of a hollow. The NWO forces rushed to the shoreline to find a pair of pluses fleeing from what appeared to be a crab-like hollow, scuttling slowly after the deceased human souls atop six stilt-like legs each tipped with a pair of sharp mandibles. Daniel gave the order to have it gunned down and harvested if possible, and in that moment the regulars pointed six modified assault rifles resembling Swedish-made AK5 and opened fire.
A spray of glowing blue bullets riddled the crustacean and it dropped to the ground defensively. After the need to reload, it was clear that the hollow's thick shell was tougher than anticipated despite the fragile look of its limbs. It began to lash out at the soldiers and spat some sort of clear fluid from its front-side, but was easily avoided and the NWO were by far more maneuverable than this lethargic excuse for a hollow. After another shower of spiritually-charged lead seemed to only inflict minor injuries to the hollow, one of the ELITEs began charging somewhat of a cumbersome device that had been used to capture hollows during the Karakura operation that ended in Daniel's reconstruction, and the other ELITE loaded what appeared to be an M32 grenade launcher. The regulars stepped back and the ELITEs took over the situation, firing a 40 mm spiritually-charged grenade which generated a bright flash of energy strong enough to kill the beast, and a beam of energy engulfed the dissipating hollow, harvesting it using the large generator-like device. With the hollow gone, the two ghosts, a mother and child apparently, showed themselves from their hiding place behind a tree where they witnessed the armed men kill the hollow.
"Thank you very much, we... wha - " the ghostly woman said in gratitude, only to be separated from her child as the NWO apprehended both of the pluses without any hesitation, awaiting Daniel's orders.
"Take them back to the base. No need to be gentle with them, they're only spirits after all, only useful for serving as fuel." the Battle Operative sighed with disappointment as he looked across the lake towards the cathedral, and checking his radar system. They still didn't have a network established, so they didn't have a choice but to not stray too far away from their hideout or else risk being lost or worse, ambushed and out of supplies.
"Until the network is up and running we cant get too ourselves lost out here, to do so would be a disgrace to the Boss, who specifically assigned Deltawolf to investigate and cleanse this city of whatever evil plagues it. That demon and these abominations are enough for today, move out."
He waited a moment for his orders to be acknowledged by his subordinates, then Daniel approached the two pluses who were struggling in the arms of NWO soldiers, now realizing that they would probably be better off being lunch for a large crab than prisoners of these men. The child plus spat in Daniel's face, whose visor was open so as not to leave him totally blinded by his own armor's stealth technology, he only smiled back and at the brat and gazed into the child's eyes with the same evil, hypnotic gaze that he used in his own childhood to drive his own parents and countless other caregivers into insanity, that he used on numerous others for him to establish his early youth years as Europe's youngest terrorist mastermind before becoming a mercenary for hire prior to joining the NWO, the same gaze he used on Aisasa as he tortured him to death. The child began to weep as he began to wet his pants and was dropped to the ground, unable to run stand. Daniel proceeded to also stare into the eyes of the mother, whose body also fell limp and expressionless. Both of them looked up at Daniel, teary eyed as the large armored man spoke down on them and commanding them to do as he says.
"You two are going to come with us. You will not speak unless told to, neither of you will not attempt to flee or else the other will be punished greatly. You will comply."
The Deltawolf unit watched the scene with curiosity as their commanding officer used his power to influence the minds of the weak-willed on these plus souls, and the two spirits got up and began to follow the armed men without any argument like lifeless dolls. Each soldier made a note to never cross this man, while at the same time grateful that he was on their side. Daniel hoped that they'd be able to drop off these prisoners and resupply, and hopefully soon have their network up and running before the end of the day. He knew that something was going on at the cathedral and he was itching to get there, he could have Deltawolf exterminate five dozen more hollows and capture a hundred pluses but what he wanted was to find the person he knew was somewhere in this city, who Daniel was eager to repay.

Aiko was dosing in and out of sleep for what seemed like hours. His shoulder hurt from a recent sparring session and the way he was laying didnt help. He was about to rise, stretch and patrol the surrounding area. Maybe scout a few blocks before finding a bar. However luck was eluding Aiko. When he rose he heard a loud terrifying scream. It was a woman, and from the sound of her screech alone Aiko knew there was going to be trouble.
Turning in the direction of the scream Aiko jogged to the ledge of the large cathedral and tried to pinpoint the where exactly the sound was coming from. He heard another sound... this on was more familiar. It was a hollow. the all familiar static scream it let out used to make his hairs stand on edge. Now it just made him smile. Hollows where around and that meant a fight. With a grin on his face he peered out into the dark. He could see where the noise was coming from. He was surprised however that even when he was sleeping he had not sensed the hollow. He needed to pay more attention he concluded for lunging over the edge of the building. Arching forward Aiko began to run down the side of the building. When he was almost near the ground he used his legs and pushed off the wall sending him flipping through the air. He landed facing the two large buildings he had heard the shout of terror coming from. He raced towards the alleyway in between them quickly, dead set on ending whatever was causing all the noise and getting back to his "mission"'.
Aiko approached the alleyway with haste only to be halted by a few screaming pluses that came darting out of the darkness between the building. Just as the last one was making it out a large fire engulfed her. Aiko used his right hand and drew his blade with incredible speed literally cutting the fire down with the force behind his blade. He still had to raise his left hand in front of his face in order to protect his eyes. When he lowered his hand he saw the innocent soul collapse to the ground as the flames ended her afterlife.
" There isn't anything you could have done Aiko..." He heard Miyu say to him. He shrugged and kept his eyes strained in front of him. His Souba now ready to cut down anything that moved. He was not nervous, he was alert.
When he saw the alley way now, still covered in patches of flames and burning material, he noticed it was heavily charred and though the buildings weren't going to collapse from the blast they certainly had taking one hell of a beating. Trash and the building wasn't the only thing on fire however. At the end of the alley way a hollow was stumbling about burning as it began to disintegrate. Aiko realized then that whatever had killed the plus most likely killed the hollow. Which either means there's a careless shinigami in the area or there is something more to worry about then a hollow.
Aiko began to move slowly down the alley now, his eyes still trained ahead of him. He was ready for some sort of attack. Maybe another explosion of flames and heat. Or maybe a larger hollow. As long as it wasnt another one of them damn Arrancar he didnt care. When the hollow had completely disappeared Aiko could see standing behind it a woman. The woman was in her early thirties and if Aiko could guess she was from the states. She had very light skin and shoulder length brown hair. Her hair covered some of the left side of her hair and was tied in a loose ponytail in the back. She was very attractive and if it wasnt for the zanpakutou in her hand Aiko probably would have made some sort of smart ass comment. Her militaristic white shirt-black collar-dark gray jacket threw Aiko way off. She seemed to either have one hell of a gigai or was...human. Her leather black boots made her skin seem even more pale than her face and Aiko noticed the white gloves as she sheathed her sword.
Aiko decided this was a good as time as any to speak. "I don't take it your some kind of shinigami. that wouldnt be my luck. Im from the Soul society... Who are you? And where did you get that gigai?
Aiko copied the woman and sheathed his sword. Though his weapon was now sheathed his guard remained up. He still was unsure about this girl and her outfit made him feel almost uneasy. He didnt want to let his guard down completely and then get stabbed...or burned. He had done that once before and didnt plan on letting it happen again.

Even as Aiko entered the alley and approached the woman who seemed to be the one to have defeated the now disipating hollow she did not appear to take notice of him at all. Her golden eyes were locked staring at the crumbling remains of the hollow as it dissipated into blue and purple spirit particles, however the particles did not float aimlessly into the sky as was customary. Instead the purple-ish spirit particles floated in the womans direction instead and once they got close seemingly disappeared like normal spirit particles would... Wether this held any meaning or were just coincidence was impossible to tell at this time however. It was first when Aiko spoke that she seemed to pay him any heed, however with how her eyes merely moved up to gaze at him instead made it appear she had known about him being there the whole time, or at least were not easily frightened. As she listened to what he said she raised her brows slightly, shortly before she frowned and her eyes turned back to the ground before her. Seemingly in deep thought the woman raised the scabbard in which her zanpakutou were and then let it go, and just as it was about to fall it simply faded from existence... Before Aiko got the chance to ask about this however she responded with a cautious, but still friendly voice that had a slight Russian accent to it. "Shinigami? Soul Society? Gigai?" She said this with a sceptical look on her face, as she turned her full attention to Aiko and began to walk toward him with the intent of passing him by and continue out of the alley. However long before she reached him she continued speaking. "You... You're not alive, are you? A spirit like these others perhaps... No, you're different." As she asked this she seemed genuinely curious about Aiko, but as she was about to reach him she stopped and looked him over, a faint glow filling her golden eyes for a moment before she continued past him. Wether he followed her out of the alley or not was his choice, either way she seemed to have lost interest in him... "You can call me Aure, I am busy however so please do not bother me." --- Azerin barely got thirty meters from the Cathedral before someone was on him. However as the reiatsu fog had shrouded his presence so did it shroud Shin's even as he threw himself at full throttle and it was only the bright light of Rikujokoro in his palm that warned Azerin that something was up. Sadly he did not see exactly what was going on and had not expected it, thus his attempt at dodging the bakudo went the wrong way and though he avoided getting caught completely, one of the shards pierced his left arm and forced him into a complete halt as he nearly fell over from the sudden stop. Acting almost like if driven by an unseen force Azerin near immediately turned around as much as he could and pointed his right arm at Shin who was heading toward him at high speeds. "Bakudo #9, Geki!" and as he said this a deep red glow was emitted from Azerin's palm as a bright flash of red was released from it and unless he did something to prevent it, would engulf Shin and prevent him from moving, for a short bit at least. With this Azerin drew his zanpakutou, and after what felt like seconds but was merely a few moments he had raised his blade and focused his reiatsu into it, as he struck and shattered the shard that held his arm in place, and the moment this was done Azerin was once again on the run. Blade still in hand as he ran, ready for the pursuit of whom he presumed was a squad two or six member Azerin knew that had the kido caught him completely he would not have been able to break it so easily... Quickening the pace as much as he was capable of Azerin began to make random turns in order to hopefully make the pursuit harder, however he was not a tracker and so was not too familiar with the skills of Shin. --- Shortly after arriving at their temporary HQ in Helsinki one of the ELITE's separated from the rest and sought his way to the Communications Center set up to link with the main headquarters in Japan. The room was of a circular shape with roughly five metres across the middle of the room until one reached the opposite wall which was filled with old TV-monitors, it looked to be an old security booth. Under the monitors was a long desk-like console that was shaped in a half-circle, though it appeared inoperable and it was instead a rather large laptop that stood upon it that was the goal of the ELITE. With the press of a button the black screen lit up, showing a large number of different windows displaying all forms of data, with one that seemed to stand our from the rest reading "Calibration in Progress: 73%", however the ELITE seemed to ignore this and instead opened a new program window and began to type on the keyboard before he pressed a button on the side of the laptop instead of on the keyboard, another window reading "Sending Data" appeared. A few seconds passed silently, before all currently active windows on the screen seemingly shut down and the screen turned dark for a second, a moment later lighting up slightly as the silhouette of a man could be seen, however no features could be discerned. "Reporting in, sir." The man spoke in fluent Japanese, with the man nodding in response before he spoke in a distorted voice that was clearly going through some kind of voice synthesizer. [ "How is the Subject performing so far?"] The ELITE seemed to pause for a moment as if considering how to best respond, however the helmet on the mans head prevented anyone from seeing his face at this time. "Mr. Conrad has shown remarkable restraint and ability to make quick and decisive choices when leading others. So far I have nothing negative to report, however his use of his powers on regular spirits may be noteworthy. I believe however that while he may require further watch, he is a vaulable asset to the NWO, Sir." The man explained, crossing his arms behind his back as he did while he stood with a straight back like if standing before a superior officer. Though the silhouette was hard to read, the ELITE got the impression that the man smiled at this. [ "Very good. I look forward to your next report, Operative Aiwaru."] And with that the connection between the two were cut, and immediately the data windows that had previously been on the screen returned, with the top one now reading "81%". It appeared all necessary transmitters had been placed, and the satellite the NWO used for mobile expeditions was now on-course. It would be a mere hour before the system was fully calibrated, and they could begin the hunt. Elsewhere in the rebuilt prison that was currently the NWO's temporary HQ in Finland"Sir, our short-range scanners have detected the precense of a hollow inside the facility!" One regular Grunt nearly shouted as he came running up to Daniel, he was currently not wearing his helmet which revealed his short black hair and Japanese features, huffing audibly suggesting him having ran a fair distance to get to the Operative. "We have lost contact with D-Unit stationed on the prison level where we have been keeping the captured spirits. Your orders?" He then asked as several Grunts that had followed the man known as Sergeant Okaze formed up behind him. ((The hollow in question has a long slender body made of white scales, similar to a traditional chinese dragon, coupled with short legs and arms with sharp but pretty useless (as weapons) claws, it's primary weapon is either the long, sharp spikes that goes along it's spine and tail, or the sharp teeth that line the interior of it's shark-like mask. The hollow is roughly twenty meters long and the body itself is about a meter in diameter in width, however it moves with surprising grace and speed, moving more like a snake than something with legs. It also appears to have at least a basic form of intelligence. I've got a few basic plans for this guy, so don't kill him off in one post Otherwise, go wild.))

Upon returning to their newly established base of operations within Helsinki, Daniel dismissed he squadrons who had accompanied him on the brief expedition that had just transpired. One hollow harvested and two pluses imprisoned was hardly a mission for the record books, but at least it did give the regulars and ELITEs some exercise and Daniel a chance to try out this whole "commanding officer" deal that he would need to get used to before he could possibly overthrow Derrick while at the same time maintaining the good graces of the Boss, to who Daniel owed his existence to entirely. In any case, the network connecting their small hideout to the NWO's main systems were still down for the time being and there was little else to do but for Daniel to excuse the men to do their own business until the next opportunity to hunt more hollows, hopefully at least another would be destroyed by the end of the day.
Daniel had no reason to suspect that one of the ELITEs who had been placed under his command for this operation was in fact a Stealth Operative sent by Richard to keep tabs on the Battle Operative to ensure that his new body did not compromise his abilities to think or put his units at risk. For all that he cared about, everything was going well and so it should have. Nobody so far was posing a risk to Daniel's long-term bid for power within the NWO, and everyone seemed to acknowledge him as the commanding officer for the time being. He was able to relax knowing these things, and found himself in a small armory where he was able to remove his large power armor and proceed to relax in the light jumpsuit that was now a part of his very body, and claiming what appeared to be the office of the warden in charge of this prison while it was still in use as his own private quarters.
The room was still adorned with some decent furniture and a not-so-discreetly hidden stash of what was probably illegally acquired cigars and alcohol; mainly half-empty bottles of cheap domestic vodka along with an extremely valuable bottle yet to be cracked open, XO cognac of all things, perhaps he would enjoy such a luxury with some of the other men as a special treat if they he managed to find some snifters to actually serve the twenty-year old brandy properly. Suffice to say, Daniel was not necessarily a man in need of such indulgences considering his cybernetic state would probably do wonders at robbing the pleasures of alcohol consumption, so he simply locked up the drawer he had stumbled across back up and plopped down behind the large mahogany desk, staring at the bottle of brandy on top with a dull gaze, the office door wide open for anyone to walk in if they so desired an audience with the Battle Operative. Before he could actually settle down, a small group of Grunts came running in, huffing and in obvious distress. The first man, a sergeant of Japanese descent named Okaze if Daniel recalled from the briefing, spoke up.
"Sir, our short-range scanners have detected the presence of a hollow inside the facility! We have lost contact with D-Unit stationed on the prison level where we have been keeping the captured spirits. Your orders?"
Daniel shot up from his position and proceeded to collect his discarded armaments that he had not yet organized since removing his power armor, two pistols - one a taser and the other a modified deagle - as well as a large combat knife that looked as if was meant for hunting dinosaurs with.
"Have the facility on High Alert until the threat is exterminated and once the alert is out, have everyone organize into small fire squads led by an ELITE if possible and try to be the first to bring the beast down!"
In less than a few seconds, Daniel had gathered what he needed and put on his helmet, closing the visor designating he was ready for battle, shouting orders as he was preparing. Before he himself actually moved out himself, the other men could sense that Daniel was not entire finished as he looked back at the desk and sighed.
"First team to exterminate the monster can share the cognac I found in here later tonight, sound good?"
As odd as it may have sounded coming from a reputably hardened man like Daniel, a few of the grunts seemed to like the idea and nodded as if to say 'why the hell not?' and the soldiers moved moved out as quickly as they barged in. Daniel grinned as he followed them, perhaps rather more casually than expected from the usually aggressive man, and a hidden grin stretched across his face behind his dark visor. He was going to enjoy this hunt, and even make a contest of it with his subordinates if he could help it, hopefully it wouldn't prove to be that dangerous of a threat.

A sigh escaped into the air. While fair Helsinki was indeed a beautiful place, it was not the "vacation" that was alluded. The NWO operative thinking such thoughts took the moment to move her scanner away from her eye, as it was quite useless regarding the current situation. Marisa Truax took a quick look around, surveying the current location. She and the other four members of her unit were mobilizing down a small street, somewhere in the southern part of town, past the market. Marisa herself was bringing up the rear, with the two techies in the center, and two more regulars in the front. They were just a short distance from their target area, a good place to set up part of the new radar system they needed in the area. Without it, they were quite blind, as the "fog" rendered most spiritual of the NWO spiritual detection equipment as almost useless, and so that was why they were trekking through the wonderful city of Helsinki. Again, not the vacation Marisa had wanted when she asked Boss if she could have some relaxtion time from her usual work... she now knew better than to ask that again, especially considering the increasing workload everyone was having.
Marisa tapped her thumb against her pistol holster in a whimsical rhythm to help her concentrate on the task at hand. Even though they were all coated in the faint shield of reiatsu that the NWO had cleverly invented as a way to stay hidden from the common folk, she was still going to remain cautious. She had a bad habit of technology hating her, and even NWO technology wasn't perfect.... but she'd never let Boss know. The two regulars in the front were chatting about something, but it was most likely unimportant. The technicians were quiet, thankfully, as one was preoccupied with gazing at random buildings they passed, and the other was fidling with a receptor that would become a part of the radar system. Still, even with the peaceful scenario they had, something seemed off. Marisa looked over her shoulder towards the direction of the Cathedral and felt uneasy. She hadn't felt the same since the last big operation, and that went to hell pretty quickly.
Marisa spied an ideal spot for the equipment as they neared the end of the area of Unioninkatu. She figured that the German Church would be an okay enough spot to put their radar system to good use. At this, Marisa took point, and she guided them all inside from the rear while the clergyman in the front helped out an elderly couple. Marisa motioned for the regulars to stay at the door, and then she went ahead of the techs as they all went upstairs, going into the tower. The techies then proceeded to set up the equipment in the tower, keeping the stuff out of the way. That hardly mattered, as the tower didn’t look like it saw too many visitors, but you could never be too cautious.
“Well boys, if that’s all, I suggest we head back to base.”
The techs nodded, and they filed back down the small ladder, but before Marisa could an electronic message sounded off in her headset. She flipped her visor back into position, and discovered that apparently a Hollow was causing a problem back inside their new home base. Frustrating. She grunted, and slide down the ladder, turning back to her men.
“Let’s put a hustle in our step, you all got the message.” She then pulled up her communication link. “AT-31C, we need a pickup back to base. We’re over by the old German Church.”
“Copy that, inbound in three.”
The unit waited in the courtyard behind the church as the attack-transport chopper swooped down gently, and they all filed in neatly, with Marisa being third aboard. She got into a seat and sighed again - today was once again going to be one of those days. The crew sat in silence for a few minutes before one of the techs spoke up.
“Hey, you guys see that?”
Marisa glanced over to where he was looking, but saw nothing of interest. She turned back away, but out of the corner of her eye she saw something dart under the copter. Priority levels on the rise, she started to pay full attention to her environment. “Are our scanners still mute?” One of the techies nodded in reply, and Marisa swore under her breath. She went to lean out slightly to see what she could see, but right about that time a large rocking motion swayed AT-31C, causing everyone to brace. Before Marisa could ask what it was, she heard the sound of ripping metal, and a white claw shot up through an opening in the floor, piercing one of the technician’s legs. At once, three pistols were drawn and fired, hammering away and blowing off half of the Hollow’s fingers. It withdrew it’s hand, and the technician moaned in agony from the giant hole in his leg. As Marisa reloaded, one of the soldiers yelled for everyone to brace, and Marisa turned to see his horror - two Hollows heading right towards them through the air at ramming speed. One smacked hard and completely tore through the rear of the flying machine, and the lost of altitude was immediate and gaining. The other missed, but it was apparent that neither Hollow was going to give up as the plummeted to the ground. A warning light was going off, but Marisa was more focused on praying for a safe landing.

The fog went far in shielding Shin’s presence, but Azerin was able to at least notice that something was wrong just before his kido hit, and was able to avoid being fully bound. At least one of the shards did manage to catch his arm. Unfortunately that didn’t stop Azerin from swinging around and firing a Geki bakudo at him.
Note to self: Direct dashing does not let you dodge easily.
Dodging out of the question, Shin focused his reiatsu as he slammed into the kido, using sheer force to push his way through even if it slowed him down for a few moments. Those few seconds were more than enough time for Azerin to break the small hold on him and take off into the city proper, but Shin was right after him, hand pressing a small button on his glasses.
“Anything to report?”
“I’ve found Azerin, and he’s on the run. Try to get the area I’m in locked down before he manages to disappear within the city, he appears to be losing control of himself to his hollow, and no one wants that rampaging all over such a massive place.”
Pushing himself to move faster, Shin ran along streets and alleys, trying to maintain as much of a lock on Azerin’s reiatsu as was possible in the fog of the city; if he lost him, he was going to have one hell of a time finding him again. He really should have got around to learning that tracking kido, but at the least, Azerin was not known for being a skilled tracker. Of course, things could have changed, he did manage to keep himself hidden for so long.

A short while earlier...
PVC Henry "The Tiger" Murdowe stood casually leaning toward the wall in the long corridor that made up the newly assigned Cell Block D, where a few spirits that had been captured previously was now held. A couple meters to his left stood his partner since his military days, tense as always and never able to relax while on duty, as the younger man kept eyeing the spirits cowering in the cell by the wall opposite to them nervously, though whether he was afraid of them or felt pity for them and was morally challenged was hard to say. Sure high-command said that they spirits were monsters in human form, but they acted so much like humans that it was hard to not doubt this. However Henry knew that his friend was too much of a coward to oppose their commanders and that suited him just fine, he didn't really care whether they were monsters or not for him the pay was all that mattered.
Suddenly however the child spirit reared it's head as it looked about, as if it was sensing something, and just as suddenly it began to flail it's arms wildly while screaming in panic. The 'mother' seemed to be both confused and alarmed by this but did not seem to know what the boy was reacting too, and turned helplessly toward Henry and his companion like if she wanted help... Getting annoyed quickly Henry ignored, or didn't notice, the red blip that appeared on the radar portion of his HUD and walked up to the bars holding the spirits inside as he banged the stock of his customized M16 rifle at them. "Quiet down, or I'll make sure you won't be able to scream anymore!" he said aloud angrily, though it didn't seem to help as the kid began to cry and yell harder. "Oh for fucks sa-" He was however interrupted when his friend yelled over to him.
"Something happened down at the Guard Office, and I keep getting a signal from somewhere in that direction but it could just be interference from the surrounding area. We should go check it out."
Henry just let out an annoyed grunt but that's when he noticed that he could no longer read the life-signs of the rest of his squad, and that the red blip that had appeared a few seconds ago was becoming more frequent, in other words whatever was causing it was coming closer... And just then the blip became one long beep. "Shit!" He yelled out as he lifted his gun up, but too late as the ceiling in-front of him collapsed on-top of his friend and through it came the form of a snake-like hollow made of white scales with a white mask adorning it's shark-like face. Not having time to worry about his long-time partner Henry immediately brought his gun to bear as he began to fire, only to have the standard issue spiritually-charged bullets bouncing off of the mask of the hollow as it rammed straight into him with such great force the man was sent flying up into the air, followed by a loud bang as he slammed straight up into the ceiling. However the hollow was not done with him there as while it passed by under him with great speed it threw it's tail up and as he fell back down impaled him along the end of it's spine, the two feet long spine-spikes easily piercing through his weak Mk1 Grunt armor.
With "The Tiger" still stuck to the back of it's tail the hollow flew/slithered over to the cage that held the two spirits captive, and in a moments time had ripped the weak iron bars open and as the two spirits cowered up in a corner the hollow slowly crept closer to both of them, saliva dripping from it's large predator teeth as it was seemingly savouring the moment...
Present time...
As was standard procedure each fire-team was split up evenly, most carrying the standard NWO customized M16 rifle while at least one carried a heavier weapon such as a grenade launcher or RPG however in tight confines such as the prison corridors heavy weapons were rarely used optimally and so the heavy-weapons teams had instead grabbed AA-12 shotguns loaded with spiritually charged Frag12 rounds. ((Look it up if you're wondering what it is)) And as they spread out on Daniels behest they began to surround every viable exit from the prison area D-Unit had been stationed in, however the reiatsu signature of the hollow had suddenly vanished...
Then almost like if from nowhere the red blip that signified the hollow appeared on Daniel's radar however it's exact location was impossible to read... He would be able to tell it was somewhere ahead of him and as a fire-team came running in his direction, calling out an "all-clear" it would soon become obvious where it was. All too late the soldiers realized their error, as the snake-like form of the hollow came crashing through the nearby wall sending several of the Grunt's to the ground from the large chunks of debris that hit them head-on. However as it's tail swung out it became clear that may very well have been a life-saver as one who had stood his ground got his torso torn open as his chest armor literally split in two as blood was sprayed onto the wall, shortly followed by the body of the dying Grunt. With most of the soldiers out of the way for the moment the hollow seemed to change it's attention to Daniel.
And as the rest of the hollow came through the hole the flailing body of "The Tiger" became visible, still stuck to the very end of the hollows tail.
---
"Mayday, mayday! We're attacked by unidentified number of flying hollow, the rear end has been torn off! Please respond!" The pilot repeated over the NWO's temporary air-frequency.
With much of it's back weight lost and no way to truly control the flying machine the Pilot could do little to halt the descent but try to keep it as steady as possible while keeping an eye out for the two hollow trying to make them into their next meal. However with a ripped off back-end came complications and as the chopper was nearly struck clean out of the sky with the hollows next attempt, causing a huge dent in the lower back-half and resulting in the machine spinning uncontrollably as it sailed toward the ground, sadly one of the soldiers lost his grip and was tossed out the open back... Now with no way to control the chopper the pilot knew the next attack would most likely score a near perfect hit, and so called for the inhabitants to brace themselves for emergency landing.
Seeing one of the hollow come flying toward them as the chopper spun around the pilot measured the distance toward the ground and with one daring action pulled the "breaks" on the rotor-blades putting the machine in a near free-fall like state, the additional fall speed making them dodge the hollow as it swooped by over them and immediately after the pilot put the blades in full spin again but it was not enough to stop the fast descent and soon they would crash into the streets of Helsinki.
---
Azerin was indeed not known to be a trained tracker and this was the truth, however his time as a refugee from Soul Society had seen him run into all manners of spirits, both weaker and stronger than himself that he had to run from to avoid a fight and so he had become quite adept at just that, running. However the man now following him as he ran through the alleyways and streets of helsinki was a trained tracker, a member of squad two or six, he would not give up easily and though Azerin was quite fast he was not famous for his speed. No this person would catch up to him eventually, running would only see him unnecessarily tired for when he truly did get the opportunity to escape.
And so with his mind made up Azerin took a quick turn into the alleyways to his left, running in a long straight line actually hoping that Shin would see him he quickly turned into a thin alleyway between two buildings that looked like they might as well be the same building. Immediately after entering the alleyway Azerin came to a sudden stop and spun around as he began chanting a quick incantation, just focusing enough to make it seem like he had tried to conceal it but not enough to truly fool Shin. "Kyõmon"((Mirror Door)) he said as he raised his left arm and held his hand forward with an open palm as a transparent barrier formed in the crevice that separated the houses, on the outside it would look like a solid wall of the same type as the houses themselves but it would not require a very careful inspection to notice that there were no true "depth" in the illusionary wall. If Azerin had calculated this right then this man would no doubt be able to quickly break this barrier, as it had not been made with strength in mind which he hoped would be obvious. And as he considered his next step the former shinigami raised his left arm up by his chest as he began to chant silently to himself once more.
"Carriage of Thunder. Bridge of a spinning wheel. With light, divide this into six..."
A bright yellow glow began to emanate from Azerin's left hand, and with any luck the shinigami pursuing him would break the barrier just in time for him to finish, or soon after. Sure rikujokoro gave itself away with the bright light it emanated, but if Shin could not see the light before it hit him... Azerin would perhaps be able to escape from this without having to resort to actual violence.
OOC: Sorry for short parts, wasn't sure what to write. Dark, you can decide what happens next but if Shin does get hit Azerin would run immediately. Otherwise just assume he'd try to defend himself but not really attack with any serious intent (you can control him to this extent).

"Dammit! Everyone brace for impa-"
Marisa's last words were completely cut off as the sound of screeching metal on ground erupted into the air. The pilot had done well to prevent the landing from being a direct cockpit versus ground scenario, but the vehicle's velocity was still high enough to allow the ground to win the battle. Marisa couldn't quite recall what happened at that point - she awoke just seconds after the crash with her vision swimming. With a groan, she shook it off, and then arose slowly. She took a few shaky steps away from the wreckage and a quick glance around showed her that the copter had tore a pathway about 100 feet through the street before their transport made contact with a small building. The body of one of the technicians hung loosely from the flying machine, and without even checking for vitals Marisa knew he was gone. She clambored through the copter to get inside the building, and as she reached what used to be the cockpit - which now resembled a cracked egg that entered into a now open wall - she found that the techie who's leg had been punctured was quite dead, considering that he had obviously been rag-dolled into the back of the seat. Feeling alone, Marisa wasted no time getting into the small building, urging her very sore body to push on.
The building itself wasn't anything special, just a basic two story home of some sort. But for the next 40 seconds it was a quite check of herself. She found that her armor had taken the brunt of the impact but wasn't as damaged as she would've assumed. She tried to get her comlink to work to see if any of the radio equipment that they had set up was operational, but she got nothing - either it wasn't working or it was her end that was damaged, which Marisa didn't doubt. She leaned up against the stairs for a brief moment, which immediately became a bad idea.
A hollow's hand smashed out from under the stairs, hungrily aiming for Marisa - she was, however, not in that location anymore. Split-second reactions had led her to roll to the other side of the room, and she already had her pistol at the ready as the Hollow began pulling itself into the room - a brutish thing, serpantine with wings and 4 arms. Realizing that a direct confrontation was not going to work out in her favor, she fired off a few rounds into it's mask, causing small fragmentations. This upset the spirit, and it reached out to nab her. The stealth operative avoided it, then kicked the door open to the next room and dashed through and reached for the special explosives that she had on her side. The device was shapped like a rounded cone, with two simple buttons on the side, one blue and one green. Turning around to anticipate the Hollow's arrival, she hit a blue button and a small repetative beeping began, slowly picking up in pace. The Hollow stuck it's head through the door and roared, mouth opened wide - a very convinient moment, as it was then that the CB2D [Contained Blossoming Demolition Device] was chucked right through the large set of pearly white teeth. The CB2D is interesting - it's design is made so that the explosion only echoes in one direction for a small distance, which is perfect for taking down a single wall, or for tougher-to-kill Hollows. At least, Marisa could comfirm that as her foe imploded to the left, rupturing it's mask and leaving the right side to dissapate slowly. Sighing, and knowing that there may be more Hollows along the way, Marisa worked her way out of the building and down the street, sticking close to cover. Gazing up, she spotted the Cathedral, and figured it would made a good place to get her bearings before trying to do anything else. She markedly made her way, wary of the skies above and the ground ahead of her.

Azerin was taking him on a fast-track tour of Helsinki, dashing through streets and alleyways, and doing quite a good job of trying to lose him, it was quite clear that the former shinigami had picked up quite a few tricks in losing someone. Fortunately for Shin, it wasn’t quite enough to lose someone trained in tracking down criminals, and as Azerin kept ducking down alleys, Shin was gradually catching up. As it was, the chase might be more beneficial than harmful; depending on what Azerin’s stamina was, he might end up exhausting himself and making Shin’s job far easier on him.
Of course, this led to another concern; that couldn’t have been the first time that the traitor had been pursued by someone that he couldn’t outrun, and it didn’t take much smarts to figure out that the best means of throwing off a pursuer was to attack them when they weren’t expecting it. The risk of running into a sword was high enough that Azerin would always gain time on corners, solely because Shin had to be sure that he was actually still moving and not lying in wait to ambush him. Azerin certainly seemed to realize that his best hope was to keep taking turns, and as such, when he chose a long alleyway, Shin was more than a little wary. It was of course, entirely possible that he simply didn’t know the city that well, or that he panicked and chose a bad street, but carelessness got operatives killed, and Shin was reasonably sure that Azerin would have had explored the city in enough detail by now to have escape routes in mind.
Either way, since he chose a straight alley to run down, the simplest and safest option was to bind him again. Keeping a close eye on Azerin, and his reiatsu for any warning spikes to signify an incoming kido, Shin raised his left arm as he started silently chanting – this particular opponent called for a full incantation.
Well more like he would have, if it were not for Azerin ducking down another alleyway. A faint pulse of reiatsu alerted Shin to the casting of a kido, and confirmed his suspicions about Azerin. Why bother casting any kido when it was clear that by running down such a long alley, that he was guaranteeing that Shin would see his path? The rogue was up to something, and whatever his plan, Shin had no intention of running right into it. Gathering reiatsu into his legs, Shin started to mutter a different incantation.
“Lord of the storms, keeper of the raging seas……”
Using the reiatsu at his feet to mask the charging kido, Shin jumped straight up, landing on the rooftop of the building next to the alleyway that Azerin was in. The rogue was still present near the entrance of the alley, clearly waiting on him to take the path and spring his trap. Of course, even in the fog, it was likely that he picked up on the burst of reiatsu that Shin used to scale the building, but he was going to have other problems soon. It was quite convenient that Azerin chose to stick to narrow alleys without any human presence. The short time it took to climb the building was enough to finish the incantation, and he was ready to flush out the rogue, literally.
“Hado #57, Honryuu.”
Shin quickly aimed at Azerin from the rooftop, palm outstretched, as the high pressure flood of water shot out from his palm. Within the narrow confines of the buildings, Azerin would certainly have his work cut out for him if he wanted to dodge the hado.
“You know, you could just give up and save both of us a lot of trouble. I’d rather not have to drag you in kicking and screaming.”
