Alright so it's not exactly a secret that Bleached Souls has been on a roller coaster ride in terms of activity, though lately it's been more of a full-stop. I'm aware part of the blame for that lies with me which is why I'm trying to make amends for that now.
The reason I made this thread is to see who's still interested in the BS story/setting, as attempting to make a complete revival with only three people seems, quite honestly, like a waste of time. While I'd love to present some revolutionary fix to all our problems (and a cure for AIDS and Cancer while I'm at it) I simply don't have anything that is guaranteed to work though if enough old members show interest I'm willing to give it a try regardless as I've lost too many "communities" to see another one just waste away.
In short, if you have any interest in seeing Bleached Souls remain active (and hopefully revived), post and tell us your thoughts here. I'm going to assume that those who don't post within a weeks time are done with the site.
Yours Faithfully, Zhiel of the Bleached Souls Staff

Of course you know I am in for the long haul. I don't want to lose another site either and despite the slowness and inconsistency this is my favorite site out of all. It has no drama, good writers and a damn good plot.

Always here, always ready. I am able, and 100% undistract-- Is that a rolling penny? *chases and leaves site*

I'm still here, if only waiting for the few threads I'm in to move since an incredibly log time ago.
By the way, I learned of this by chance since I rarely check the site anymore (trust me, busy life), so shouldn't important announcements like this be PMed to everyone?
That said, it's easy to show up and say we want to see the site active, but this pattern is getting old, it's not the first time we've been this close to kicking the bucket and in the end we just get some activity for a while and then find ourselves in the same situation. I don't know what to think of that anymore; I want to see the site active, since I see a lot of potential in the writers here, but if we continue along the same path eventually people are going to lose interest. I know the reason at least I disappear so often is precisely because the inactivity gets to me. I know I've never been an exemplary member though...
Anyways, we should probably become stricter on our pacing policy. We could even consider implementing rules to punish unannounced inactivity with confiscation of characters or deletion if the situation gets out of hand, at least for a while to promote activity. Having in mind my history record and the fact that I don't even have internet at hand right now (I'm at a cafe right now) suggesting something like this is probably digging my own grave. I'm not necessarily saying those are the only options and I I'm just one voice, but in my opinion we do need to become stricter on this aspect if we want to break the cycle. But hey, I'm the ghost paladin of the site, definitely not an expert on the area.

That won't revive inactive threads. Rather than revival for the site, that would be starting over and that's not what I had in mind, so I would have to change my stand on the matter.

@wanzer I was guessing as much, but our problem stems from most of us being slow posters. JukumaIf people aren't invested enough in the site to check it once a week at least then that just shows they aren't interested anymore, despite the lack of activity I usually check if there's been any new activity every day. And I agree, as our main problem stems from slow progress in terms of posting and the like we'll most likely be implementing something to either force people to be somewhat active or make it so if someone doesn't post within X time, they'll be skipped and whomever was interacting with said character can move things ahead (by limited control of the MIA guys character if necessary). I'll have to speak of it in detail with GK before anything is decided obviously but it's something that has crossed my mind. Getting new members, while not a top priority at present would probably help boost activity a little since there'd be more people for everyone to interact with, which might help people grow more active in general. I'll be doing a bit of thinking on the subject in the coming week. If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions feel free to say so.

@jakuma: I wasn't speaking of changing anything, but having more than just six or seven people here will be necessary if we really want things to flow more. That being said we do need to let people know that things are pretty solidified here.
@ Zhiel, well we do need to get Galihan back, but aside from that. We just need to be focused

@ Zhiel I can agree to that plan.
@wanzer And that's exactly what I meant. True enough we need more people, but first we need to fix our own inactivity problems, otherwise there's little point to it.
And now that you mention it, we really do need Galihan around.

I admit I'm terrible here. Thus, as of today I'll try to get my ass out of the gutter and redirect my university procrastination towards something more benefitial - namely at least once a week activity.
* edit 1 * PS, if anyone does need to get a hold of me, I check my deviantart every single day
** edit 2 ** Personally, I think the overall biggest problem with trying to recruit new people at this time is an overall decline in interest in Bleach with it nearing something of its end sometime soon. The overall disappoint that was the final battle with the Espada and the sudden introduction of an entirely new physic to the Bleachivese which should have been brought in years ago seems to be increasingly problematic. I might consider any ideas to keep the story interesting, but the series it's adapted from in my opinion is what's been keeping me from being eager to continue.
