I’m not taking any sides, nor am I implying anything, but everyone can look on your RP samples in your character profiles, so I’m guessing Zhiel does have some foundations to judge your writing skills. Anyways, I just recently picked up on RO (hell, I only got a lvl 15 swordsman) so I don’t have much experience on this; I read the wiki a thousand times though. Anyways, I thought this was good RP material and decided to give it a try. Only one question, though: can we have a jobchange during the RP on the long run? Either way I’m going for a Merchant (if you don’t mind me joining); I just thought it would be good to have something to look forward to. ________________________________________ Name: Anselm Bayard. Gender: Male. Age: 22. Class: Merchant. Personality: Everything regarding Anselm’s life runs on money, it being his major interest in life and his most crucial trait that helps him fit perfectly the role of an ideal merchant. He never bothers to show his lack of interest on anything that doesn’t catch his attention, which goes as far as almost anything not concerning cash, often resulting in him demonstrating a rather apathetic manner towards others; exceptions with very close acquaintances have been seen and it is known that there is a friendly side to him. His greed goes to such an extreme that in some occasions he has been known to not eat in days just to keep from spending money, although really few (or none) of those occasions required such drastic methods of reducing outcome. His personality drastically changes when there is some profit available for him, partially because it is a necessary skill for his condition as a merchant. When negotiating, especially selling, Anselm takes on a friendlier manner, adopting a constant, cheerful smile and enlarging the longitude of his sentences. Even though witnesses of both of his personalities assume it is some sort of “mask”, it is simply the effect of the thrill caused by the possibility of gaining money; such is the power of his avarice. He is not very fond of battling because it involves a lot of physical effort from him in most of the occasions, but, like almost everything, this can be easily changed if a favourable deal is offered to him. He also has a great amount of whims, the most notable of them being the need to be constantly chewing on something. Description: Anselm has mid-long dark blue hair usually spiky and brushed in a way it points upwards with a slight inclination in the front. His eyes are light brown and he is wearing a leather headband on his forehead practically all of the time. His clothes normally consist on a leather jacket and light clothes following the merchant dress code. Visual Reference: i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh160/Sodloc/067.jpgShort history: Anselm was originally born in Izlude despite of his claim that he holds no origin anymore due to his disliking of the town and the fact that he has been travelling for an enormous amount of time. His mother was a travelling magician while his father owned a tavern in the town, which would be the place where they met. After they got married, Anselm would be the first of five sons, the other four all being girls. Even at the young age of 6, Anselm’s mother was already trying to persuade him from getting some interest in the arts of magic to follow on her steps while his father planned for him to become a swordsman, having in mind their guild was located in Izlude. None of them was successful, and, for a long time, Anselm didn’t show any interest in becoming any kind of warrior. At the age of 13, Anselm was taken to Alberta by his uncle Leofrick, a merchant who was looking for a certain magical item. During the trip, Anselm witnessed the merchants’ lifestyle and, most importantly, the power of money and its importance in everyone’s lives. It was at that moment that he fell in love with cash and decided he would grow up to be a rich merchant. Not willing to wait for a long time to begin his training, he convinced his parents to allow Leofrick to take him in his trips and teach him the ways of a merchant. He left without any kind of regrets. During many years, Anselm proved to be an avid student and by the time he turned 19 he already knew the crucial skills of bargaining, transportation and how to defend himself and his properties. He hasn’t gone back to Izlude ever since and claims he won’t do so until he is rich enough for stop working and live an easy life. Equipment: Gorai KamA mace of great size Anselm usually carries on his back; he bought it from an inexperienced merchant who was unaware of its real value. The mace has a ring of small spikes around the tip and measures approximately 125cm. But the real danger of the weapon is its ridiculous weight, able to break through strong defenses if used correctly in optimum conditions. Despite of its heaviness, Anselm is able to carry it with moderate ease. Long swordThanks to his great strength, Anselm is able to carry this weapon on his back in addition to the Gorai Kam. This is a regular sword Anselm bought long ago during his training days with his own money; it is weak and not very special, but serves only as mean of self-defense in case the mace fails to do the job. DaggerFinally, Anselm also carries a small dagger hidden inside of his clothes around the right area of his chest. This weapon is only used as a surprise attack, but there hasn’t been a day yet that he has had the need to make use of it. Abilities: Anselm possesses strength that surpasses that of regular people and is able to lift heavy weights and even carry them on his back. He was able to lift a rock the size of a man in one occasion just to throw it at a thief trying to steal money from him. ( Enlarge Weight Limit) As a knowledgeable merchant, Anselm is quite experienced at bargaining with other people making use of his social skills. He has been able to rip off all sorts of people in Midgard, including other merchants who were trying to do the same with him. ( Discount & Overcharge) In addition to his bargaining skills, Anselm is also an expert on items and can easily identify their properties, regardless on whether they are weapons, armors, shields, etc. ( Item Appraisal) Anselm strongest technique on battle consists on fusing cash coins with whatever weapon he is equipped with; said weapon will be able to deal a single blow of devastating effect on anything it comes in contact later. Although a powerful attack, Anselm hardly ever makes use of it due to the necessity of sacrificing money and, even if the amount happens to be insignificant compared to his total economy, it is still rare for him to use this skill. ( Mammonite)

Very nice app Jukuma, and I'm surprised you chose merchant (Though pleasantly so ), I like the way you adapted the skills to fit as abilities, though I'm a little skeptical on increase weight limit, just how strong is he? xD Other than that it looks great, though remember that there is no 'set' classes or such like in the game, you can come up with your own stuff (though preferably while keeping it to a theme). And when I said experience I did not mean simply playing the game, I meant knowledge of the world, which you seem to have gotten down quite well Kensei, you're free to make a char app, but I cant promise I will accept it.

To tell the truth, I am surprised myself I ended up choosing the merchant. I considered an archer but they aren’t interesting enough … I’m quite happy with the merchant class. Of course I never meant to make him an Ultra Great Muscle God of Doom, making him strong was the most reasonable way to explain his weight limit skill and I seriously never meant to abuse it in the middle of a battle. In any case, lifting an adult man-size rock would be his very limit and it’s not like he would be able to carry it anywhere, just lift it and throw it. By the way, do you have a set date as to when we will continue the RP or are we supposed to jump in whenever we want?

I'll be posting in the next few days once I finish the work that piled up on me in real life while I was gone. Hopefully we can thereafter continue at a decent speed.
As for joining there are two options, either wait until we get out of the dungeon and meet up then or be a survivor of one of the previous parties down in the dungeon. Of course he doesn't seem like the sort who would have gone down there in the first place but its the only real answer if you don't want to wait (maybe the money/reward offered to the group was big enough to persuade him, I don't know).

Name: Masa
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Class: Mage
Personality: Masa, on first sight, provided you even notice him, appears to be permanently half asleep. He always carries a tired expression, and his very aura bleeds indifference. He isn't very talkative, and his comments tend to be as short as possible, speaking with a calm, quiet tone that could pass for a loud whisper at times.
While people might find him to be shy, he simply prefers quiet, and doesn't particularly care whether or not he is alone most of the time. He is perfectly content being a nameless face in the crowd, simply moving along at his own pace.
Masa is a very sharp and strong willed individual; he is well used to fighting and hardship, and despite his quiet demeanor, is perfectly capable of taking care of himself in battle.
Description:
Masa has a lean build, his body, while not bulging with muscles he is clearly fit. His skin a dark brown colour, and his body is covered in various scars, most of them old and faded from his childhood, although almost all of them are covered by his clothing. His hair is a light green colour, which is generally brushed back in a row of spikes, reaching to his neck with a couple of strands hanging in front of his face. His eyes have the same green colour of his hair,
His clothing consists of a durable pair of black long pants, along with a short sleeved shirt of similar strength. He wears dark blue armored boots over the pants, along with a long sleeved dark blue jacket, that reaches his knees. A noticeable point about his clothing is the multitude of pockets in the inner portion of his jacket, each of them with zippers closing them off.
Short history:
Born in Morroc, Masa and his family were among the poorer residents, living on scraps and barely getting by. His mother, in order to distract him from his hunger, spent her time teaching him how to read and write while his father went out to 'work' - Masa was fully aware that his father was a thief, having followed him on more than one occassion. One of his father's exploits gave him an ancient looking book, that was full of information about magic.
Eventually, Masa's parents succumbed to their harsh life, the father eventually being caught and executed, and his mother dying of grief. Masa was left to fend for himself at six years of age, surviving just like his father did - by stealing food from the market. However, he also had to deal with the other child thieves, who saw him as easy prey. Of course, being able to use basic magic helped him along, even though most of the time it took too long to recite the entire incantation to be of use.
When he was ten, he ran into a sage, and after an embarrassing attempt to rob her, followed by an even more pathetic attempt to fight her, she decided to take him under her wing out of amusement. During this time, he learnt that his new guardian was called Elena, and was a sadistic demon of a sage, although she did train him in everything he needed to know about being a mage. Mainly by giving him one lesson, throwing him against some monster, and leaving him there to win or die.
After seven years of traveling with her, she eventually parted with him, telling him to find out his own path before looking for her again. That kept him busy for a year; he knew that he wanted the power of a wizard, but he also wanted a means of speeding up the cast times of the bigger spells, even if it meant that he just had to focus some energy in training his channeling speed. Keeping himself funded was dealt with by taking on jobs as a traveling exterminator, some dungeon raiding, and some sleight of hand in crowded streets. Some habits were hard to break.
Equipment:
Excellis
A gift from Elena before they parted, Excellis is definitely an odd staff. It is a five foot tall, light blue staff, with various runes engraved along the shaft, up to the head. The head of the staff consists of a light blue curving point, resembling a spear blade, except that the blade itself is hollow. It is engraved with runes, and an odd point about it is that unlike the standard staff, the blade is not just for channeling magic - it actually functions as a sharpened spear point, enchanted to never dull or break, along with the entire staff. The centre of the head contains a transparent, blue orb, with spokes attaching it to a small silver ring around the orb. If one pays close attention to the spokes though, they would notice that they are spaced evenly, and at the same positions as a clock's number markings. Four rods attach the ring to the head, and shaft of the staff at the 12,3,6, and 9 o' clock positions.
This staff is Masa's main weapon, designed to amplify spells like all staffs, but Excellis also radiates energies that improve the efficiency of magic channeling, decreasing the time necessary to gather the energy to cast spells, very useful in the heat of battle when one cannot afford to waste time. When not in use, the staff is collapsible, folding down to about a foot in length, and stored in a belt loop for easy access.
Gemstones
As a mage, Masa possesses certain spells that require gemstones to cast properly. As such, he keeps a ready supply of various types on him.
Abilities:
Elementalist - As an experienced mage, Masa is highly skilled in using elemental spells, and he is capable of calling on various elements as needed for the situation.
He is by far most experienced with fire spells, capable of using the entire line with high effectiveness.
His ability with ice spell is in the middle, fairly strong, but a mage experienced in ice spells will easily outdo him.
Wind spells need a bit of work. There is a clear difference in power between the lightning spells and ice or fire spells.
Experience with Morroc has impressed upon Masa the benefits of learning to expand his senses, to the point of seeing even cloaked beings. (Sight)
Masa has a higher rate of recovery of magic energy than the average person, allowing his body to recover from the energy cost of his spells faster. (Increase SP recovery)

Name: Calder Bayard
Gender: Male
Age: 27
Class: Hunter
Personality:
Regardless of what anyone says about Calder, the male has never done anything, but pursued the happiness of his family to continually please his parents; having always been the elder, Calder has a slight complex regarding his brother, wanting to protect the younger male due to his bad habits and perpetual greed. Having generally been ignored by his parents for the majority of his life, he seeks their affection and some acknowledgement of his existence and approval from them.
The male’s life up till the point of setting out with his brother had always been one of the dotting, but often neglected son; having since the age of thirteen having to help his family survive by constantly gathering meals and performing odd jobs through Izlude; having subsequently spent a majority of his youth working in the blacksmith’s shop, Calder had little chance to make friends. Having never had a relationship beyond those of his family or his work managers, Calder turned to nature for companionship.
Calder having spent so long in the wilderness when he wasn’t working, learning how to read the body language of animals and ‘understand’ them to a degree. His ability to translate the animals lead to many odd situations where animals would constantly gather around him, this lead to further being eschewed by others around him, whom were envious of his talent.
Regardless of this, Calder has kept the ideal that being polite to others is generally the best way to go about things and has maintained interest in politics, world issues and the outside world. Though, his interest most likely does not extend as far as his brothers own; Calder still manages to know enough to speak with others, but his interest is only for the sake of keeping his brother safe.
Calder is often exasperated of tired due to his brother’s antics, generally having to pull his younger brother away from some insane prospect due to his obsession with money. Due to all of this, Calder has developed a rather sarcastic sense of human, generally getting a laugh at others expense when their backs are turned. He is polite enough to never saying something to someone’s face and is currently looking for someone that he can actually speak to on an intellectual level, who will actually listen.
Description:
Calder can be said to look much like an older and more masculine version of his brother, primarily due to his preferring the outdoors and having spent his time practicing archery and becoming in tuned with nature, rather than reading books on how to earn money. All in all, Calder appears just what a fledging adult should look like, his facial construction has finished sharpening and sports a five o’clock shadow of rust mixing with brown; while his hair is shaved closer to his skull giving him a buzz cut similar to a marine’s. While the dark brown tint is still easily visible, his hair can’t be said to be much longer than a few centimeters at any given point and rounds off at the base of his skull just before the neckline. While the male’s nose and cheeks still reflect a slight segment of youth by giving a slight roundness, they appear strong giving some prominence over the rest of his features; however, the most striking quality about the male are his amber colored eyes, which occasionally appear a lighter green when the right florescence strikes them.
While the face is what most people focus on when first meeting someone, Calder’s body isn’t something to ignore regardless. While standing at close to six feet and having a broader visual appearance, Calder has long arms, each filled with sinew and muscle from his longer years of working as Blacksmith’s apprentice and constantly using a bow. His tall figure is primarily drawn from his powerful legs, which have seen their fair share of exercise from the back peddling and circle strafing he does around his enemies during combat. Regardless, the male dresses rather properly, keeping a tidy appearance with a constantly clean white shirt, that covers his arms and a pair of finger guards wrapped around his thumbs, his index fingers and his middle fingers. Meanwhile, he wears a light brown jerkin ,over the long sleeved white shirt, with dark green fringes. At the back of this jerkin is a small flap of extra fabric, which can be pulled up as a hood during the cold or when Calder needs to be stealthy. The male wears black colored fabric over his legs in order to make them look more like the base of a tree, giving me the impression that he truly does feel more home in nature.
Short history: Calder was born in the city of Izlude; while the town was generally peaceful, Calder’s family did not have much in regards to the others and often struggled to survive. When Calder’s brother, Anselm was born, it made the family struggles all that much harder and until Calder became the local blacksmith’s apprentice the family just barely squeaked by year after year. Having always been one to care for his family, when his mother told him to always look after his younger brother, he took it to heart and now acts as his brother’s guardian ensuring that the young male doesn’t get himself killed while searching for his fortune.
Equipment:
Falken Bow: The bow that Calder always carries was the last bow he crafted before leaving Izlude and his only memento of his hometown. Having crafted the bow through his own intensive labor, he poured his heart into every feature of the piece, recurving it to increase power and making an ornate item that is also functional. Many have said the bow would be priceless if sold and much his brother’s chagrin, he has never allowed him to auction off the item. Around the ebony wood, symbols of wildlife have been beautifully carved throughout, making the bow look like a living piece of nature rather than an inanimate object. While the feel itself is smooth to the touch, the bow’s hard lines make it appear almost like a gnarled tree with symbols of squirrels and birds etched into it.
A Belt of quivers, the male currently holds seven quivers with three being on each side of his hip and closed off, so no one can see the side of them. Each holds a different type of arrow, while the one on his back holds the main arrows he uses.
Iron Arrows
Plain Arrows
Stone Arrows
Sharpened Arrows
Poisoned Arrows
Fire Arrows
(A single holy arrow gifted to him by his Father prior to leaving. Seeing as it was one of the rare gifts he received, Calder has never even dreamed of firing it and keeps it in a pouch by itself, wrapped in silk.)
A small set of throwing knives, kept in the pouches of his Jerkin.
Rapier: The weapon was a gift from the local Blacksmith when Calder was about to leave from Izlude. Having worked for him long enough to have earned his respect, if not a somewhat unhealthy affection, the aging blacksmith gave Calder the rapier as a gift, though rarely used due to Calder’s preference to ranged combat, it has gotten him out of several scrapes in the past.
Abilities:
Arrow Crafting: Calder, mostly due to his brother’s stinginess, has never been able to really purchase arrows for himself; instead, he uses what he can from the land around him, refining ores through his training as a blacksmith and constantly gathering samplings and other various types of wood in order to create his bows and arrows.
Arrow Repel: Having been in many tight situations before, where distance became a problem as enemies grew too close to him; Calder designed a special type of arrow that that has a ball instead of a point on the tip of the arrow. Doing so allows him to produce enough force with an arrow to knock back enemies or force them onto their butts, while sacrificing some of the piercing power.
Arrow Shower: Another one of Calder’s custom arrows, the male has tied a Bundle of arrow together, using one significantly large arrow as the base. By launching this bundle into the air, the weak strands that hold it together fall apart at the seams causing the arrows to fall in various directions once the decent starts, creating a literal arrow shower.
Owl’s Eye and Vulture’s eye: Most of Calder’s early life was spent in the wilderness playing, this has left him with a keener eyes than most giving him the ability to process information faster and see things further away than others may.
Knowledge of Wildlife: Having Spent so long in the wilderness and taking such an intense interest in it, Calder has studied and researched various types of beast-like creatures, giving him insight on how to gain their friendship or the best methods to kill them.
Ore Refinery: Calder’s many years of working under the tutoring of professional blacksmith has given him a basic understanding of how to refine simple ores and even how to smith them into weapons. Though his chosen profession is archery and having been trained by the guild in Izlude along with joining them.

I apologize for still not having posted, haven't had a chance to really get into it again just yet... While waiting for some other stuff to happen I threw this together, a small fun idea for a quick overview of our characters "stats" (largely just there for reference sake, aka "Rei is pretty strong and very tough, but doesn't have a lot of magical aptitude" (One of the aspects I believe Int would stand for to make it more relevant, since if it stood for actual intelligence everyone would have a decent amount of it and then you'd wonder why magic was so rare ) I added a photoshop version as an attachement and here's two jpg templates you can choose from if you feel like making it, to add a sprite you'll need to find a character simulator (just google for RO char simulator) and screenshot it or something. TemplateWithShadowTemplateNoShadowHere's the one I made for Rei as a reference, no need to have the diagram(?) thing completely accurate or even have numbers at all for it, it's just a little fun extra. I worked under the assumption that Dex translated to Awareness, and Agi translated to the Reaction Time. So basically as seen Uriel is aware of his surroundings and quick to react, but moderate strength and low health (likely the lowest of anyone except as yet introduced character) makes him vulnerable, thus the exact reason he was looking for a meatshield in the very first arc. He can take a few more hits than a glass cannon, but he won't be slugging it out Crusader style. In game standards his Int is horrible for a priest, but in RP standards this translates to him having a larger magical pool than the rest of the party but a lower aptitude for healing/buffing than a cleric since he's a battIe priest. stuck luk firmly in the middle as in game it translates to critical hits (and other things, but primarily that), here I figure thats a good a explanation as any alongside other things "luck" entails in real life. My reasoning here is Uriel has had both one-hit kills and not-so-one-hit-kills, I attribute the occasional one-hit kill (beyond this being more "realistic" than the game) to his luk stat achieving a critical over his typically moderate strength. Also the sprite is a High Priest, Uriel is only of the Priest level at this point, but the outfit was closer to what he wears in the RP.

Explanation Time!!!!!: His strength is basically otherwordly, there's no weapon too heavy for him or a shield that can completely block his attacks; in addition, since his luck is quite decent, it isn't rare for him to land critical hits. I interpreted dexterity as accuracy and related (so in a way yes, awareness) and agility as having to do with body movement (with a high value meaning the character can basically dodge with backflips and other acrobatic movements). So he can accurately land strong hits, but would struggle not getting hit back or even approaching his enemies in the first place. His vitality and defense in general are only decent and his intelligence (magic-wise, though he isn't really all that smart anyways) is just plain awful, meaning he has 0 potential with spells. In short, he is a monster that can break through any defense and can be a useful ally in the front lines, but his vitality isn't high enough to keep him there for too long and his skills are still those of a merchant and not a warrior, meaning he will have to take many breaks in the back and still isn't by any means a substitute for a Crusader or a Knight. Basically, a timed beast; weird build, but I didn't want to have him sell and get items for the party and then stay in the very back when the fight starts.
