(sorry about the god-modding, I'm going to make it so he's just insanely fast but has no footwork abilities, strength, or any refinement ie. He doesn't know how to use a sword well, does that make up for the god-modding? He's only got speed and instincts, and moderately good reactions)
Kovath also picked up a wooden katana, and went to kneel down. It appeared that Kovath was fine but in reality, he was tired but refused to show it. Kovath then prepared to do whatever they'll ask of him, probably run several billion laps just because he pissed them off. He sighed and replied to Takeshi, "I don't eat cereal nor drink milk or coffee. I hate coffee." Kovath said as he waited for instructions.
"All of you maggots!!" the teacher shouted, "Today is our combat test, you'll be pitted against each other and we will determine your grade from that!" Kovath nearly cursed, he forgot there was a test and he just HAD to use his full speed before the class, now he'll be paired against some guy at the top of the class. He watched as the students fought each other and noticed the style each one had. They all used sword kata while he... he... was a complete amateur! He heard his name and he walked up, opposite of Takeshi. He got into a stance and prepared for the inevitable.
(HAHAHA What irony... JK is that okay? me saying the fighting pair? I can change it if you dislike it, I appreciate you telling that was god-modding, I'm new to rping so I have little experience)

Hearing his name called along with Kovath's, Takeshi stood and took his position in the arena opposite to his fast opponent. Every time he stood here he could feel the eyes of his classmates always glaring him down, and it always got on his nerves. Sometimes he just wanted to lash out at them all, tell them it wasn't his fault that he looked so different from them. At least he was stronger than the majority of the lot, and thus he'd concluded that they were more so envious of him than anything else. He closed his eyes, and envisioned only himself and his opponent, nothing else in the world existed while he fought. Anyone else would just be a pointless distraction who'd get in his way to being the best. He took a strong defensive stance and awaited the instructor to start the contest, his mysterious eyes opening wide the instant he'd heard the word,
"BEGIN!"
Watching with his large mismatch-coloured eyes, and awaited for Kovath to make his move, Takeshi expected that he would rush in and utilize his speed, and Takeshi planned to keep his defense strong and steady, hopefully able to overpower the taller opponent.

"Defense?" Kovath thought as he watched Takeshi drop into a defensive stance. Kovath scanned and found a rock solid defense and if Takeshi has good reactions then all the speed in the world might not help him. Since Kovath was not an endurance type of person, he would have to assume Takeshi will not wear down easily. He also know he probably has many openings in his stance therefore he has to finish the battle quickly, but he's fighting someone with a very solid defense. Therefore, he's most likely going to lose. Kovath chose to overwhelm him.
"BEGIN!!!" shouted the instructor, Kovath immediately charged at a slow speed and slashed, which was parried. Kovath then seemingly disappeared and reappeared behind Takeshi and charged, " You're MINE!!!" Kovath shouted trying to inspire himself.
(Can I say you blocked a small strike or not?)

(It shouldn't be a problem, it's not like you said that you landed a hit.)
As expected, Kovath began with an early attack, but it wasn't that fast. It was like he was testing his opponent's reflexes and reaction. If this was all that Kovath would be able to pull off then it'd be all over quickly. The first attack was easily blocked, but he didn't bother landing a counter-attack just yet. Takeshi wanted to observe his opponent more before he decided to get serious. Then Kovath suddenly picked up the pace greatly and began to use the speed he had used yearlier.
Such speed! Takeshi had thought as he has almost lost his opponent once he began moving quickly. Suddenly Takeshi had heard Kovath behind him, the incredibly fast adversary yelling a victory cry as he went in for the point.
"You're MINE!"
It was all so fast, almost too fast it seemed. Perhaps Kovath was too eager to win this and was going to be reckless. There was barely time to react, and Takeshi's next action would be a gamble. He lunged at the charging opponent, going down low on a single knee and in one strong, upwards thrust of his bokken, hopped that he'd be able to get under Kovath's swing and land a hit on the charging combatant whose own momentum would land him on the end of Takeshi's own weapon. If that didn't work, then Kovath would be able to get the first point and things would look really bad for Takeshi.

"What the?" thought Kovath as he witnessed Takeshi quickly going down on a knee. "Crap," Kocath thought, "I'm going too fast!" Kovath swung his katana in the attempt that they'll still tie in points. He made hit his opponent weakly, while he took the full blow of a stick lodged into his rib. Kovath then jumped back several feet, not trusting that he won't make an opening. " 1 point for Takeshi, 1 point for Kovath, " the referee shouted as both combatants got back into a stance.
"So, this looks like my speed won't win the battle, its time for my ace, " Kovath bluffed as he slipped into a weird stance that looked like he was about to sprint with his wooden katana to his side. He noticed Takeshi was dropping back into the stance he had used earlier, but slightly... different.... more serious. "I need 5 points to win, we both have 1 point. I can't fight long drawn-out battles well, so that means I'll have to land several hits quickly or he'll adapt to my speed." thoght Kovath as he calmed down. Kovath began charging a huge amount of reiatsu into his muscles, making them a stronger to overcome his strength weakness.
Kovath charged at around 3/4 of his full speed, though a huho (Is that spelled right?) could tell there were huge errors in footwork that made him considerably slower. He began with a slash which was parried, then a thrust which was dodged. Then Kovath upped his speed to his maximum (for his level of huho) and began a vicious attack that was starting to tire him out.

Even though both combatant's got a hit in, it felt like Kovath would be pretty sore after taking that stab to the ribs.
"1 point for Takeshi, 1 point for Kovath,"
Takeshi was pleased that his maneuver was at least successful enough to keep the match a tie for now. He got back into his defensive stance, and this time he had anticipated for any sudden bursts of speed like before. Takeshi planned to stand strong and wear down Kovath through endurance, but he knew that for now he'd have to soon capitalize and begin his own offensive in order to succeed. For now, he'd simply defend and dodge until Kovath's flawed form screwed up enough and created a large enough opening.
Takeshi managed to deflect the first attack and sidestep the second, but the following barrage of fast strikes was becoming difficult to block while maintaining his stance. Eventually the last of the many swings landed a hit on Takeshi's torso, much to his surprise.
"1 point for Takeshi, 2 point for Kovath,"
Even though Takeshi was now losing, he wasn't concerned much about the final outcome. From what he could tell, Kovath was going all out and pouring huge amounts of his reiatsu into his offense while Takeshi was not focusing much of his energies at all compared to his aggressive adversary. Takeshi was certain that Kovath would tire himself out before too long if he were to continue, but he wasn't going to gamble the match on poorly educated guesses and chance. He lowered his bokken to his hip, it's tip pointing to the ground and he readied himself to advance on Kovath, beginning his own offensive with a series of wide and swift upward swings in a figure-eight pattern while steadily increasing his pace, moving faster toward Kovath as he continued the attack, hoping for the slightly less experienced student to slip up and take a hit.

"huhuhu" panted Kovath as he finally landed the last hit. He then backed off to try and recover a breath. "That took too long," Kovath thought, "Now I'm tired, my stance is getting sloppy, and I'm starting to run out of reaistu, even worse, I still need 3 more points." Kovath observed his surrounding in an attempt to find a way out, but to no avail. Then he realized that Takeshi began charging.
"Dang it!" thought Kovath as he quickly put a plan into his mind. "Okay, this might just work" though Kovath as he began charging too. Then just as they were about to meet, Takeshi swung his bokken. "Now!" Kovath thought as he allowed Takeshi's hit to make contact. Kovath winced but quickly attempted a slash toward Takeshi hoping that his hit wouldn't be in vain.

Takeshi continued advancing, and was relieved when he felt the wooden blade in his hands strike Kovath but had little time to relax when the aggressive had not ceased his own charging attack despite strain and injury. In all honesty, Takeshi was not surprised when Kovath continued without even taking a slight break. Takeshi had so far figured that Kovath was probably the type of person who wouldn't ease up even if he'd get banged up pretty bad in the process, it was unnerving, to be frank. Takeshi hadn't ever faced someone who'd fight with such an unorthodox style before, most other people would have at least tried to put up some sort of defense.
As Kovath had swung his bokken at Takeshi, the gaijin had managed to follow through his last upward swing into a defensive position which just managed to stop Kovath's oncoming blade. Takeshi was starting to get tired out by this, but he simply sucked it up for now and pushed away Kovath's blade using his own and attempted to land a quick attack of his own in the process. He quickly took a leap backwards to get some distance from Kovath, and tried to catch his breath for a moment before the gap could be closed.
"Intense," he said to himself outloud, a gleam of satisfaction and competitive spirit glistening in the large, colorful eyes of his. "This is what it's about!" He wasn't usually this open or confident in his oral communication, but in the heat of the competition he felt so alive!

"2 points for Takeshi, 2 points for Kovath!" shouted an examiner.
Kovath ignored it as he was beginning to feel an adrenaline rush, "This is just like those old gangfights," Kovath thought as he recalled a moment where he got beat up by 5 people but took down 3 of them. Kovath hadn't felt this new energy in years, and with one word to sum it up, it felt... Fantastic!! He felt more and more excited, his pain began easing, his muscles didn't seem so tired anymore. It was like he could take on all the Captains and lieutenants in the Gotei and win without a scratch!
""COME ON!!!" shouted Kovath as he charged recklessly at full speed toward his opponent. "SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT!!!" Kovath continued as he they made contact, Kovath began slashing here and there trying to find weak spots. Kovath then pulled back slightly and prepared for a 100% offensive and 0% defense assault. Therefore, if he messed up, he would be in a very, very bad situation. He pumped even more reaistu into his muscle trying to push his body to the limits of speed and strength. If he kept this up, it would require a 4th squad Captain to repair the damage. Kovath shouted, "DEFEND YOURSELF!" as he charged like a berserker into Takeshi's defense.

He could see an anxiety in Kovath's eyes, an overeagerness to win combined with a heavy dose of adrenaline. Kovath gave a war cry before charging in at Takeshi, abandoning what appeared to be all sense of reason or strategy. It was rather intimidating, but not frightening. Takeshi scoffed as Kovath stormed at him, and held his bokken steady as he deflected several oncoming attacks. It seemed like things were moving in slow motion for a moment as Takeshi wondered what he was going to do once things got back to speed.
That wouldn't work, he told himself after he thought of trying to duck low and stabbing again, things like that never happen more than once.
He jumped back again just before Kovath began his charge. Takeshi took a breath, rested his eyes, and lowered his blade briefly before deciding on what to do. He planned on starting off by sidestepping. Keeping his blade low he'd hopefully have a chance of taking out his legs. Tripping Kovath and landing an attack to his back would could almost win the match for Takeshi, or at least give him more time to recuperate and take a breather. That was his strategy for now.
He began by leaping to the right, the blade in his left hand sweeping at level with Kovath's knees in hopes of taking him taking him face-down on the wooden floor.
((Sorry for taking a week to reply, I had an unexpected turn of events over the last few days but I'm better now.))

Kovath was very high on adrenalin, that was obvious, but he still had his reflexes and most of his thinking intact as he noticed Takeshi side-step and aim a blow toward his knees. The problem was that Kovath was going to fast to parry, or dodge so he did the first thing he could think of, attack. He noticed Takeshi was trying to attack, therefore if Kovath counterattacked while Takeshi tried to get a blow, then Takeshi would either defend Kovath's blow and therefore Kovath could continue his onslaught, or they would each get one point.
So Kovath allowed himself to get tripped, but Kovath while getting tripped did a rather unorthodox move and placed his sword his left hand and blindly slashed and stabbed in Takeshi's direction, trying to get in a blow. Kovath realized that it'll be hard to recuperate but, at least he knew he was going to be tripped therefore, Kovath could react to it better as Kovath tried to land a hit or two.

In one fluid motion, Takeshi swung his blade and spun around to catch sight of Kovath pulling off some sort of awkward attempt at landing a few hits in while apparently disregarding any noticeable attempt at recovering his footwork.
Does this guy really care so little about his form just at a chance at winning this? He oughta be placed in Squad 11 after graduation,
Takeshi thought as he recalled what he'd heard about the trend of aggressiveness and pure offense set by Squad 11 in the past.
His instincts told himself defend against the attacks, but he managed to tell himself to do otherwise. If he continued sticking to defense, he probably wouldn't be able stand for much more. Instead, he decided to step backwards to evade Kovath's blade altogether and immediately afterwards move in to land an overhead blow on Kovath the moment he'd be open after he'd finish his counters in order to pull into the lead.
"I must capitalize!"
Takeshi said to himself as he raised his blade and lunged at Kovath, swinging downward in attempts of breaking the stalemate so far.

Kovath was in a particularly bad situation now, he had lost his footwork and was now rolling on the floor trying to recover. "Crap, I gotta get fast of else," Kovath was thinking before he saw Takeshi charge at him. "Oh no!" Kovath thought as he put a rather weak defense to defend himself. All of this was in vain as Takeshi's blade broke the defense and hit Kovath's shoulder. That was one point.
"Takeshi 3 points, Kovath 2 points!" the referee shouted as he continued to watch, though he was slightly itching to stop the fight as it had gone for quite some time.
Kovath immediately rolled away and stood back up against his opponent. "How am I supposed to beat him? His defense is almost perfect and he's starting to get used to my speed," Kovath thought as he was panting along. He was tired from pumping all that reiatsu into his body and it showed. There was only one option, he was tired and was going to get even more so on offensive so....he took a defensive stance.

"Takeshi 3 points, Kovath 2 points!"
"Just... two more... two... more... *sigh*... shit..." Takeshi gasped between his jagged breathing. He was very worn out by this ongoing contest, and was struggling to keep pushing himself like he was. Basic human nature - instinct - commands men and forces them to always go for the top, but sometimes reason would get in the way and intervene, especially for the sake of survival. Now this may not have been a matter of life or death, but it was definitely the time that his head decided to prevent Takeshi from causing any more harm to himself, or at least take a short break.
He leaned on his bokken as if it were a cane, and stopped to take a long breather. Takeshi looked up at Kovath, who had appeared to be preparing for another round, and shook his head while holding up a finger as if to say "gimme a minute." in a universal language. He felt a bit lightheaded, probably dehydrated a bit. He undid his sash, removing the upper kimono of his robe to take off his large white undershirt which he threw across the room next to his sheathed zanpakuto. He quickly redressed himself and got back into his position across from Kovath, raising his blade to his side, ready to resume once he was ready.
((Very sorry about the wait, bad case of writer's block ))

Kovath was too panting as he saw Takeshi hold a finger up. Kovath understood and took a slight breather while he looked around, the audience was quite into the match as they stood muttering about who would strike first. Kovath then turned his attention to Takeshi as he took off an undershirt and prepared himself once more.
"Come on, is all you can do defend? You're never going to win battles like that,: Kovath said grinning as he tried to coax Takeshi into an attack. Kovath needed quite a bit of rest as he was utterly worn out from the terribly exhausting offense he was doing. Kovath raised a sleeve to wipe his forehead of sweat before once again settling into a defensive position.
