General Info
Name: Sol Hidrógeno
Gender: Male
Age: 532, appears to be in his early twenties
Rank: Nueve
Base Type: Adjuchas
Physical Description: Sol’s clean shave and slighted but pointed bones make him appear to have a slight build, though anyone who looks closely or stands near him can see that he is well not weak, his muscles like cords of iron under his skin. Standing 6 feet tall Sol seems shorter then he is due to his near constant slouch. A maniac smile is always plastered under his sparkling orange eyes which gleam with a dark mirth and evil intent. Sol’s bright yellow hair makes his skin seem paler then the naturally tanned it in truth is. Sol enjoys being clean and keeps both himself and his robes as clean as possible but well not fret if they get dirty, they can just be cleaned later.
Sol’s robes are tight fitting and have 2 inch large, white metal bands at both wrists. His white clothing shows no obvious cultural influences, being solid white in colour and having few points of interest. Neither button up nor open, the upper part of Sol’s outfit is one single piece only distinguishable from his pants by a white belt with an ornate solid gold buckle expertly made to resemble a sunburst. His boots, also of a white material, reach up to just under his knees and each end in a single up facing spike of white leather.
Overtop his form fitting suit Sol sports a long cloak like robe left open at the front clearly showing his hollow hole. Also of a white fabric the cloak is edged in what a casual onlooker would take to be gold coloured thread in weave pattern but, the “thread” is in truth fine golden wire sown into the fabric. Sol’s Hollow hole yawns out from the very center of his chest, easily visible through the open front of his cloak. In the center of his forehead is where Sol’s diamond-like mask fragment can be found. Stretching out from the center of the fragment are 4 raised points that run along Sol’s head for about an inch in an “x” pattern. Right above his fragment Sol’s yellow hair juts back, constantly in natural spikes standing straight out and back from his scalp, showing off his ears which have slight points to them. On the palm of Sol’s right hand is his numero, printed in a black ink that lends his palm a slightly velvety appearance.
Personality: Said simply Sol is a maniac, though very little about him is in truth simple. Somewhere along the way to his current position his mind buckled and shattered. Don’t think that because of this he is a push over though, if anything it makes him stronger. Sol’s fractured mind can flit from one subject to another as if it is an acrobat on a trapeze. In a conversation his thoughts will wonder off going to what ever he finds the most interesting at that moment, sometimes Sol’s thoughts will return to the matters at hands but more often then not they continue to drift off until he does the same and goes to find a more interesting place to be. On a few very rare occasions Sol’s attention can be caught, and those who ketch it are often pitied afterwards as his attention when drawn is singular. When interested Sol will rant about the thing that has caught his attention, declaring it to be the best or worst object in all of existence, few things can stand his consuming attention burning to a husk just in time for his attention to wane and slip away to something else. Even though Sol is crazy he is neither dumb nor broken. He will fight for what he wants and believes in and often uses how people perceive him to gain the upper hand. Once in battle Sol becomes devoted to his fight in a way to match his personality, fighting without regard of who is hurt and not leaving battle if he can help it. Sol is very smart though, no matter how short his attention span. He takes to most sciences naturally, if they can gather his attention long enough, and he remembers and has built on what he was taught in life.
One of the two things Sol has any love for is power, not its gain for any specific purpose but merely a lust for power itself. Sol will often go off into random rants about his power and how its only true match is the sun. Which given his special type of power may be true. Sol is willing to do anything and everything for power, he would go to the ends of the earth, climb the tallest peak, or fly to the moon to gather a little bit more of the power that he loves. However Sol is smart about how he attains his power, it is the only thing he will willingly think about in advance. If he sees an opportunity to gain power Sol will look at it from as many ways as he can think of, considering who might be setting up a trap for him and if the reward is worth the risk anyway. If Sol sees a trap he will try to turn it on its maker, walking into it with an ace up his sleeve or sending someone else to set off the trap, swooping in after to gather the bait.
Sol cares very little about what others think of him, he says what he is feeling bluntly, and cackle at nothing. If he sees something that he finds funny or ugly he immediately says how it makes him feel, even if it might be in his better interest not to. To top it all of Sol is nearly always moving seeming to be filled with a boundless energy that drives him to do ridiculous stunts, like to running along ceilings and walls when using the floor would be much easier. Sol’s craziness can be clearly seen in his constant smile and how he jesters crazily with his hands when he talks. The one up thing to being crazy is that Sol has absolutely no fears, when asked about them he often says “I have looked into the abyss and seen its blackness. Know what I did? I danced with it and here I go again!!”
The one thing that Sol care about, besides power, are his golden sculptures. Sol can sculpt gold with a masterful quality and enjoys having his sculptures around him. They are the only thing that can truly sooth his insanity, but only while he has his tools in hand and is working on them, once turned away from his sculpting he is the same old maniac. They are also the only material thing that Sol cares about, he is much more willing to sacrifice his underlings then his golden statues, those under him are only fodder to him anyway, why not see then put to use? Sol does not fear for their destruction, just tries to avoid it, if brought into a rage, or even in normal battles, he might destroy one or two blaming it on his opponent and fighting all the harder. If someone were to destroy his statues he would immediately fly into a rage, focusing on them to the exclusion of all else. Only when the unfortunate fool had stopped breathing and lays at his feet will Sol turn away from them, having forgotten about why he was fighting them at all.
History: Sol’s pre-hollow history happened long, long ago in Spain. He was born to a physicist and a painter in the Kingdom of Aragon (its real) in the capital city of Zaragoza. On his day of birth the sun rose 2 hours early, at the exact time he let out his first cry, and many fortune tellers momentarily went blind as if they had stared into the sun for far to long. From that his first day on earth, it as known that he would be a powerful force in the kingdom. His father tutored him on all that was understood of the world at the time, while his mother taught him the arts. Sol soon accelled at both the sciences and the arts, he had a particular talent for sculpting gold Those first years were sadly doomed to be the happiest and shortest years of his life.
Different people took the signs at his birth to mean different things. Sol’s parents thought it meant he would excel in all he would do, most politicians thought it meant that the sings showed that Sol would rise in the ranks to of the kingdom to challenge even the king. There was one group whoever who saw the signs as meaning something completely different, they interpreted the signs as saying that he would lead them to pre-eminence. This group was a cult of the sun, and also would be Sol’s great undoing. As soon as Sol hit puberty they snuck into his house and stole him away, taking him far out of the city and to a secret place. There they slowly brought him around to their way of thinking, and convinced him to lead them. Sol spent many years denying all they said but eventually he came to except his place amongst them. This was the first sip of power that would eventually lead him to addiction. Slowly Sol extended the power of his cult, drawing in more followers and crushing those that stood against him, all the time slowly realizing that he could speak to ghosts and manipulate the light around him with the force of his spirit.
Eventually his power came to the point where he could challenge the king of Aragon. The king at the time was a shrewd man, he knew that open war would tare apart the kingdom and that he could not turn Sol’s followers. So he came up with a plane that even Sol would think was worthy. The king sent his best assassin out in the night to kill Sol and make it look like one of Sol’s own followers did it. The assassin easily snuck into Sol’s command camp and killed Sol in his bed. The resulting power vacuum and the suspicions about who killed Sol destroyed the cult and the king remained on his thrown, laughing.
Sol remembers none of his time on earth, he only has kept his intellect, knowledge of how the world works, and his ability to work gold.
The first memories Sol has are broken ones from when he was a Gillian. Sol can remember the bitter struggle to take over the Gillian, his flight from the Adjuchas, and how sweet the spirits of his fellow Gillian tasted. Somewhere along the way Sol met whatever it was the broke his mind and became an Adjuchas, perhaps it was his ascension to the Adjuchas state that broke his mind.
Once an Adjuchas, Sol’s quest for power picked up again this time driven in part by his survival and fuelled by the power the currently had. During this time Sol journeyed across Hueco Mundo gathering both power and followers, he would tell parts of his plans to any Adjuchas he met and eat all who didn’t side with him. One day while traveling alone across the sands of Hueco Mundo Sol met a mysterious man who said that he could give Sol more power then he dreamed of in exchange for his eternal service, all Sol most do is gorge himself on the spirits of his followers so that he could be powerful enough to serve. Sensing the power of this strange man, and believing him for some reason he did not know, Sol set off with a skip and slaughtered his followers laughing as he tried to convince half the camp that the other half was revolting then slaughtering those that helped him. Open his return to the stranger Sol was brought to Las Noches where he was made into an Arrancar.
Seeing the amount of sheer power those around him held Sol knew that he must step little to gain power equal to theirs. So staying under the radar Sol wove his webs of intrigue, allying himself to few and killing every chance. Sol made sure that should a more powerful Arrancar appear looking for a servant he had killed, or just passing through the area, it was another lesser Arrancar that took the punishment. Dancing his insane waltz Sol bided his time, waiting till he could become an Espada and gain the power he saw as rightfully his.
Now the time of Sol has come and his sun shall rise.
Abilities (pre- Resurrección): The powers Sol has access to outside of Resurrección revolve around the acquisition of power and the direct use of that power.
Banquete: Sol can gather together souls through a technique. When Sol uses this power he must stand still and focus to draw the souls out of all weak spiritual beings, the beings whose souls he can suck out range from animals to normal humans. The extracted souls spin in a cloud to Sol’s mouth and he consumes them in their entirety, delighting in every last morsel. The consumption of souls can heal any flesh wounds Sol has, stopping external bleeding and closing cuts but not healing broken bones or crushed organs, unless a very great number of souls are sucked in.
Quemabola: The other move Sol has access to outside of his Resurrección, this move uses Sol’s reiatsu to create a small sun in Sol’s hand, which he then throws at high speed at his target. Sol can make up to two of these at a time, as they are not very powerful and don’t take that much power. On contact with anything they burn it, extracting spirit particles or light elements to fuel nuclear fusion. They do not explode, nor does water put them out, however they can not sustain themselves for long and once they have left Sol’s hand he can not put more power into them. They take very little energy to form, forming 12 sets (or 24 suns) would cause the same power drain as forming one cero. The suns strike with a little more then the power of Sol’s bala, only enough to lightly hurt a captain but strong enough kill a lower level Shinigami.
Additional Info: Sol is a very good sculptor of gold and keeps many self made statues around his lair, they are one of the few things he can concentrate on for long. Also Sol has a fair understanding of physics, and nuclear fusion in stars.
Zanpakuto
General:
Appearance: In its sealed state Sol’s zanpakuto resembles a normal katana, with a few minor changes. The sheath of the zanpakuto is made of a light orange metal and the crossguard of the sword itself is circular with eight small left curving points coming out of it to make it look like a sun sign.
Resurrección
Armor/Appearance: When Sol releases his zanpakuto his form undergoes many changes. To start with Sol’s skin takes on a golden hue and he becomes more muscular, but only slightly. The raised bands around Sol’s hands disappear and are replaced with thick rounded ridges running from his elbow down to his wrist and ending in circular holes. From the back of Sol’s feet two wavy points to each foot appear as his hair becomes longer, reaching just past his shoulders, and wavy as opposed to spiked. Sol’s long coat disappears to be replaced by a flowing cape. White chitinous armor springs forth from his chest, shoulders, knees, shins, and thighs. The mask fragment on his forehead expands into a thick banded crown, set in its center is a bright gold gem and wavy spikes pointing to the sky burst forth from its front section, the spikes becoming longer as the get closer to the center of his head, the larges spike being directly above the gem. The most striking change though is that in this form Sol becomes calmer, saner.
Abilities: When in his true form Sol can create even bigger suns and use them in different ways. Sol losses the ability to use Banguete, but gains other more powerful abilities in its place.
Quemabola: Now the small suns shoot out of the holes above his wrists, and are more powerful, but also consume more reiatsu. Sol can form 6 sets (or 12 suns) for the same energy cost of one cero, and hit with enough strength to cause moderate damage to a captain.
Amanecer Arma: By putting his hands together Sol concentrates his reiatsu into a powerful beam. When charging Amanecer Arma, Sol can also gather the spirit particles, and/or hydrogen in the case of living things, from the area with in 10 feet of himself, increasing the power of his attack, similar to how he gathers spirit particles with Banguete. The beam is effective out to around 40ft but can go up to 50ft if Sol is able to suck up ample power before firing it. Amanecer Arma has twice the strength of Sol’s cero, when not in release mode, and takes twice as much energy to use but just like his range the power can go up to 2.5 times that of his cero, if there are plenty of spirit particles or hydrogen near him.
Extremo Amanecer: This is Sol most powerful move. For this move Sol puts his hands in the air concentrating his considerable power into a core of energy. Rolling and folding his power in on itself Sol is able to create an event similar to nuclear fusion in stars, it can even use elements instead of spirit particles as fuel. All spirit particles not part of some powerful being, at least a mid level Shinigami or Hollow, are sucked into the sun making it stronger and bigger, though spirit particles don’t work well as a fuel and a large amounts of them are needed to increase the power and size of Extremo Amanecer. Much more useful fuels are light elements specifically hydrogen, which Sol can pull out of any nearby non-spiritually aware being or out of the very land, presuming it is not arid (desert). The more spirit particles or light elements Sol puts into the sun the stronger and bigger it gets and the more time it takes to charge and absorb particles. Sol can only use this once per battle, as he needs a rest afterward. It takes 2 posts to charge to triple the power of a cero, 3 to reach four times the power of a normal cero, and so on. Once more depending on the quality and quantity of fuel near by the charge time can go down, as far as being cut in half if say he is underwater. Once completed Sol throws the gigantic ball of pure power at whoever he wants, when it contacts anything it rips out the spirit particles or hydrogen to fuel itself, vaporizing what ever it touches, but it cant be blocked if one has enough spirit pressure and it can be dodged. The ball soon vanishes but can as with Amanecer Arma the range and duration can go up if the sun contacts enough fuel, if it were to take out a crippled captain level Shinigami or enter a large body of water it could stick around for an additional post.
Hollow Techniques
Bala :: The technique hardens the user's spiritual pressure and fires it like a bullet from their fist. Though weaker than a cero blast, it moves about twenty times faster
Cero:: High-powered energy blasts that can be fired from various body parts, such as mouth, tongue, hand or fingers. Sol’s cero is orange and is fired out of his fingers when he makes a gun with them, puts two fingers down, the other two and the thumb up.
Garganta:: It literally tears open the dimensional fabric separating the worlds, revealing a tunnel of whirling, torrential energy that must be focused and solidified to create a discernible pathway
Hierro:: Hardened skin caused by the compression of spirit power. This allows Arrancar to block released Zanpakuto bare-handed, but is not impenetrable. Stronger Arrancar possess stronger skin.
Pesquisa:: The ability to sense and track spiritual power
Sonido:: Allows the user to travel at incredibly high speeds for short distances, similar to flash step.

Sol sat crossed legged on top of the dome of Los Noches staring up at the moon and wondering as always where the light it reflected was coming from. Twitching his hand in thought Sol decided to finally find out where the light was coming from. Sitting there he thought, well it can’t be coming from the moon that would make no sense, well maybe it can I’m here after all and I make no sense. Or do I, maybe I’m to smart to understand myself. Hmm, I should ask the flying pig I was just talking to, he seemed smart enough to understand me. Wait, if he understood me then he would want to find out where the sun is. Gasp that pig used my!! I need to find the sun before he can make it into a sandwich. With that horrible thought in mind Sol flipped and launched off the roof of Los Noches flying straight up as fast as he could, heading for the moon. Shooting like a comet in reverse Sol flew straight to the moon, at least he was until he was distracted by a flare of reiatsu. Looking down at Hueco Mundo Sol could just make out a swirling of spiritual energy, but even as he looked the energy dissipated. Completely forgetting about the moon for the moment Sol fell back to Hueco Mundo, using gravity to help him go down faster then he was able to ascend. In no time at all Sol was able to clearly make out the hollow that caused the reiatsu flare, as he saw the hollow his face scrunched up in anger as he thought, that isn’t the damned pig, it just a stupid Adjuchas!! Well I was at one time one of his pathetic order, so maybe I should be so gracious as to drop down there and give him a taste of my knowledge, for his benefit. By now Sol was almost directly above the Adjuchas, moving around so the creature could see him Sol began to hover in mid air and took a closer look at the Hollow. It looked something like a horse, a horse made of pure white marble that had foot long spikes coming out of its shoulders. Fire burned in its eyes and flames leapt back from all four of its ankles. As it tossed its head in an attempt to impress and frighten Sol the flames of it main and tail sparked in the everlasting night of Hueco Mundo. “What do you want?” It said in a deep bass tone, flaring its nostrils.
Hmm, mumbled Sol more to himself then to the creature in front of him. Turning his head sideways, his ear almost resting on his shoulder Sol said, “You seem modestly strong, but your attitude needs work on. Here’s a little advice for you, be thankful that it doesn’t come with a cero!” Sol began to speak louder and wave his arms around to punctuate his words. “Don’t show your reiatsu around Los Noches, someone might come out and eat you, someone like me! That is if I knew a good recipe for horse meat, I wonder if one of the others does maybe I should ask them and get back my invisible beach ball.”
“Your crazy, aren’t you?” Replied the horse Adjuchas, obviously getting frustrated by being held back from doing whatever it was that he planed to accomplish.
“And proud of it!!” Yelled back Sol, “I’ll just let that one slide you banana eating hippy. Horses eat bananas don’t they? Hmm, well they should, some day I shall go out and force horses to eat bananas, and my banana empire shall span worlds!! Wait… what where we talking about? Bananas, horses, impotence, you, that’s right! I have been thinking of making a chariot there is no need for me to walk, fly, or swim everywhere. How would you like to be the dumb horse that pulls this chariot across the sky?” With a twitch sol brought his head forward expectantly, grinning in an attempt to seem like he would be a good master for some poor little pony.
“As good as that sounds I think I shall pass. But so you don’t feel like this has been a waste, I shall eat you and end your crazed suffering!” The Adjuchas yelled back as a burst of fire erupted forth from his mouth. The jet of fire burned its way towards Sol, who causally used sonido to step to the side. Landing to the right of the Adjuchas, the fire harmlessly dissipating into the air, Sol yawned in boredom even as his hand shot up. Forming a gun like shape with his index and middle finger Sol pointed at the Adjuchas and said “bang!” An orange bala shot out from Sol’s finger tips and flew with frightening speed at the Adjuchas obviously catching him unaware and hitting him directly in the side leaving a patch of burn skin behind his front shoulder.
“Ugh!” Grunted the Adjuchas as he completed his turn, stumbling from the impact, “How can someone so stupid have power enough to hurt me?!? Well I shall show you!” The flames at the Adjuchas’ heels and main flared brighter and more intense as a cero began to charge itself at his open mouth. With a high pitched whiney the Adjuchas shot out the cero which burned with a red reiatsu hurtling toward Sol who used Sonido once more this time to jump to above the Adjuchas.
“So that’s a no then? Ah well your spirit might taste like chicken.” Sol said laughing manically as two small suns formed, one in each of his hands. Pulling his hands back to either side of him Sol yelled, “Quemabola!” bringing his hands forward as the suns zoomed out, one a little after the other. Seeing them coming toward him the Adjuchas jumped to the right dodging the first attack but the second sun Sol shot, let fly a little later, had been aimed at the spot where the Adjuchas now stood and took him full in the face. As the sphere dissipated it left behind a large burn mark on the Hollows mask, and with a “snap” cracks ran out from the burn. Moving at speed once more, Sol appeared directly in front of the now wounded Adjuchas. “Look at these!” Sol yelled as he formed two more suns and shoved them into the eye hole on the mask of the stunned Adjuchas. The suns bore through the mask, then the skull of the Adjuchas coming out on the other side of his head before dissipating. As the body of the Adjuchas disappeared Sol opened his mouth and sucked in what remained of the creature. Licking his lips Sol stood up straight, and wiped his hands together. Turning around to go back into Los Noches Sol bumped into the mask of another Hollow, who jumped back at the contact. This new Hollow was the size of a dog but had the body of a pig, two large white wings, and on its mask was a ridiculous grin. For a moment the two stood perfectly still staring at each other. Then Sol’s mouth fell to the ground and with a yell he took off after the darn flying pig, which had by now taken off as fast as it could.
