It was a cloudy night in the city of Tokyo, and a fierce wind was blowing, promising rain later. The residents of the busy city noticed this, and were heeding nature's warning, hustling to their homes, or for some of them, night jobs.
For Shin, it was simply another annoyance of the night, which was to be expected - the weather chooses the day that he gets forced on Living world patrol to go bad. Apparently, it finally dawned on his captain that Shin had a habit of avoiding things like this, and he was finally ordered to do a few nights of patrolling to make up for his missed days. Personally, Shin had better things to do with his time, like training. He was still trying to figure out the latest cryptic statement that his zanpakuto spirit gifted him with, and running around putting down weakling hollows wasn't helping him. Really, he hadn't even needed to remove his headband - or draw his sword for that matter. It was depressing.
With a sigh at the boredom of the night, he jumped off the skyscraper, looking around for something worth fighting. Anything worthwhile would do.....

Ein walked along the edge of one of the high wires ignoring the rain as it feel down onto his large umbrella. Drops as big as golf balls splashed across its taunt surface; trailing down to its round edge to fall down to the people below. Ein ignored this and he knew no one would see him; he had left his gigai today, wanting some peace. His feet fluttered gracefully across the thin wire and thought about why he was sent out on patrol tonight, though it was superfluous. He had insulted Kaito for his brashness and the comment escalated into a full blown fight with Kaito kicking him out into the rain. “I’ve gotta stop pissing off the council.” He said bleakly regretting his actions.
He moved quickly and silently over the tops of the homes, thankful of his training with squad two before hand. Jumping over a small clock tower complete with a chicken weather vane; Ein found himself staring down at a young Shimigami and felt his power to be on par with his. His mind scrambled through his options: Should he engage? Should he question the shimigami? Should he just try to leave without making a scene? Should he call in to headquarters? Should he say screw it and strike at him while he was distracted? Should he say screw it and go get dinner as he hadn’t eaten yet? What to do, what to do? Ein fumbled with his thoughts for a moment and stood there with his umbrella and hoped the young man would just leave.

Shin just stared at the odd soul standing up there, looking like he couldn't decide what he wanted to do. Okay, so the guy's a freak. From his reiatsu, he's also a shinigami. What's he doing here, and out of uniform? A runaway, or a vizard then.
Walking up to the guy, he stared at him some more before finally asking him. "Who are you? And just why are you skipping around with an umbrella like a little girl?"
Okay, that last part was unnecessary, but bad things happened when Shin was bored. And he was not a nice person anyway.

“I could ask you the same question, though you have no umbrella.” Ein retorted semi-annoyed as he glanced around his surroundings taking not of everything. On their right was an open window, leading into a abandoned warehouse; it was full of cardboard boxes, though unknown to Ein they were all full of smuggled drugs that the yakuza had brought into Tokyo and were dealing right now. On his left side were the taller buildings and skyscrapers, he didn’t really know which would be the better choice should they tangle. He thought about it and figured the skyscrapers would be as he should be able to outmaneuver his opponent; he hoped.
“Its not polite to ask someone’s name without first giving yours stranger. Shimigami, I know aren’t ones for formalities, but I’m sure even they have a point to which they will greet someone. Any who, my name is Ein Thane, Vizard; how may I address you on this most pleasant of nights?”
He spoke sarcastically at the last bit; however his general tone was polite and reserved almost trying to gauge the young shinigami’s action. He stared down at him, keeping his hand on his zanpakuto should the shinigami draw his.
“Use my Ein…I long for the taste of blood again.”
“Easy Tsume…all in due time.”
“FEED ME NOW YOU BASTARD!!!”

Shin rolled his eyes at the vizard's sarcasm, but the name was sounding somewhat familiar. He thought he heard it or saw it once somewhere, but he couldn't remember from where. Odd, he would need to check up on the guy when he got back.
His face shifting into his usual smirk, he looked up at the midget vizard and gave him an answer. "Darkoda Shin, 5th seat of the Special Forces. That leads us back to the other part of my question; just what is a vizard doing out tonight? I know why I'm stuck out here, but if you're here hunting for hollows, I already got rid of all of them."
He feels ready to fight....or at least, a part of him is. There's something incredibly aggressive coming from him. Seems somewhat interesting.
And Kumori was awake, at least for now. That did mean that something about this guy was worth paying attention to.
A strong gust of wind whipped through the area, blowing his robes forward hard, although he didn't show any reaction to getting soaked in the cold rain. Unlike some people, he could handle a little shower, and didn't need an umbrella to shield him.

Ein’s eyes dilated in the night turning into a wide black hole allowing him to see every detail of the area. Darkoda was smirking at him, possibly because of the height difference in them; maybe he was underestimating him already. Ein shrugged at him and jumped down fluttering down through the pouring rain till he was standing next to the shimigami. Several thoughts passed through his mind as he did this, but he overruled them. His only concern at the moment was this shinigami who obviously more intent on discerning every detail before engaging. “Good,” he thought “that makes two of us with a decent head on our shoulders.” Ite spoke up at the comment just as the rain started to buffet both of them and soaked right through their clothes.
“I’ve got a decent head on my shoulder’s Ein; I’m just too lazy to use it.” Ite’s voice was riddled with drunkness and almost in a stupor. That was typical of him; though not wanted. He needed Ite sober right now; just as he needed Tsume to get over his blood lust. Exasperated he answers the shinigami looking straight into his eyes.
“I’ve been sent out on patrol, probably just as you have been. I ended up pissing off my handler; so now I’m stuck out here till dawn. Special Ops eh? I used to be a part of them back in my shinigami days; though I was originally part of the Science Division. Seems to me that many things have changed since my absence; no matter not my place to judge the Soul Societies actions anymore.” Ein said this all gracefully ignoring the sense of foreboding coming from the young man’s zanpakuto, but then again Tsume was giving off the same sense. “Both are dark types,” Ein deduced suddenly when he felt a similar pressure from both of them much heavier than other types. “No wonder Tsume is so on edge, its been a long time since he has seen another of his breed.”
Ein’s robes blew backwords as he was standing in front of the shinigami and watched him stand there getting soaked. Ein didn’t mind the rain, nor getting wet. He just didn’t enjoy getting soaked to the point that it restricted movement, he could remember a point far in the past that had nearly got him killed. He sighed and sidestepped around the young man showing his back to him as he looked up at the clock tower. “I take it you pissed someone off to end up here as well eh?”

Shin listened to the mini-vizard talk about his past as a shinigami with some interest. So he used to be in Special forces? Well that explained why he sounded familiar; Shin must have come across his name on a list of missing shinigami. It was fairly ironic that they were both out here for the same reason - getting on their superior's bad side.
He watched Ein turn his back to him, looking up at the clock tower. Not a wise move when dealing with someone that you don't know, especially if you're aware that they're from the assassination division. Honestly, and he used to be in the second division.
"It's been strongly suggested to me that I actually go out on patrol for once. Apparently my captain didn't appreciate me ducking patrol duty."
He gave a sigh of his own, as he pondered the state of things. He couldn't leave until morning, and there was nothing around with any kind of power outside of Ein. Well...might as well, it wasn't as if there was anything better to do tonight.
"So, to stop ourselves from being bored to death out here, how about a sparring match? Not like there's anything else to do."

"So, to stop ourselves from being bored to death out here, how about a sparring match? Not like there's anything else to do."
Not really caring much about fighting at the moment, Ein turned to the shinigami with half-hearted interest. “He ducks patrol duty huh?,” he thought to himself as he looked back at the shinigami. “He’s lazy then.” Tsume gave a growl and told him to get to it as he wouldn’t wait all night. Ein ignored the dragon’s plaintive cries and went about talking to the shinigami or rather looking around to see what was going on about them. Several cars drove by, while late night shoppers moved back and forth hurrying out of the rain to pick up some last minute item; maybe bread or milk or something else. Ein found it so enthralling to watch normal humans again, so ignorantly blissful of what was truly happening around them. “So, then Darkoda….was it? I supposed I could spare with you, if you wish. I don’t truly see the necessity of it, but if it is what you wish so be it.”
Ein took a loose boxing stance, with one hand up and other straddled low. It was a variation of Muhammad Alli’s and often tricked opponents into thinking he was open. He sighed contentedly for a moment as he breathed in the pouring rain’s scent; Tsume meanwhile just gripped about not being used first and wanting to taste blood. Ein ignored him again and threatened to spank him like a naughty child if he didn’t come down. At which point Tsume began to pout much to the hilarity of Ite, who then received a quick claw to the face.
“You may begin.”

Shin took in the vizard's fighting stance, taking note of the relaxed state of it. So the guy was experienced, but then if he was in Division 2, he would be. Cracking his shoulders and neck, he let his reiatsu out a bit, pushing away the rain, as he got into a fighting stance of his own. He didn't particularly care about his necessity rant, the guy chose to have a rumble with him, and Shin was itching for something substantial to do tonight.
Maybe you might be able to give me a spin, I could use something to torch, the last time you released me was against the hound and your captain.
Shin took note of Kumori's desire to actually fight; normally she preferred sleeping, only coming out when it was apparent that he needed to release her. She seemed to be a bit more aggressive after meeting Tsuno.....
Hearing Ein beginning the fight, Shin immediately rushed forward, his foot spinning to kick the vizard in the neck. A simple opener, to test out what he could really do; the position was open enough for Shin to respond depending on what he pulled.

Ein watched carefully as the shinigami rushed him; he took in every motion noting every step and even the lifting of his foot. It was how he had been taught in Squad 2 analyze then strike unless an opening reveals itself. The burst of reiatsu was unnecessary because they had both already gotten a degree of each others powers, but the real question was Darkoda cunning enough to hang with him. “Nice, a spin kick been a while since someone threw one of those at me.” Ein said calmly ducking under it, then sliding beneath it toward Darkoda’s body.
Ein’s face grew a little more serious as he mentally addressed his own Zanpakuto. “Tsume, release your blood lust and your thirst shall be quenched. I will draw forth the blade just prepare your fangs.”
Tsume roared in his mental landscape, jetting up from the abyss toward the sky tearing up the dark clouds. He soared high above them up to the mirror-like substance that coated their true sky. Taping it, Tsume looked out into the real world and opened his mouth wide, ready for the deluge of blood that was sure to come, whether from the Shinigami or Ein. He watched with baited breathe and his mind buzzing as he responded to him. “Lo, my mouth is open and my fangs ready, now pour the blood down my throat or calling me you shall regret!”
“How poetic” Ite said with a grimace. “You two need to join a poetry club you freakin pansies.”
Ein had to chuckle at this in spite of himself and retorted to Ite as he began drawing his blade. “You should join a lazy bastards club.” His sword was out of the sheathe now and he was at Darkoda’s side moving to stab the kidney from behind his back and around his own. He held the blade in a reverse angle so he could easily move it to defend himself should a new problem present itself. This was when Ite responded to him.
“I already have it’s call a bar.”

Shin was unsurprised that the vizard ducked under his kick, and he wasn't concerned about the guy trying to stab him from behind. As soon as Ein ducked, he simply used his momentum to flip his entire body forward, moving to the side out of the way of his blade. Mentally rolling his eyes, Shin drew his own zanpakuto, holding it to the side, before rushing at Ein again, this time sliding low on the ground in an attempt to cut out his legs from beneath him.
Expecting the vizard to dodge that easily enough he prepared to follow up the attack with a kick to the back of his knees, followed by another slash at Ein's back. All this time, he kept his guard up; he didn't like sword fights, they were troublesome. He would just release if this kept up.

Ein drew himself back away from Shin, watching as he neared him again. It was the same strategy as before only now he was slicing low. Keeping himself limber, Ein performed a backwards cartwheel out of the way of the slice; then reversed his momentum flipping up over the shinigami’s knees and up past his head. On his way up, Ein began an incantation as he held his blade for protection. “Ring the bells of Hell’s Alignment and feel your body decay, drop to your knees as its Gates Open! Ransack!”
Out of Ein’s hand came three green balls, no bigger than baseballs. Ein fired them when he was about two feet from Darkoda’s chest and held his blade ready to counter anything that Shin would throw at him. If he was left alone, Ein would fly over his head and about two feet behind him.

Shin watched Ein flip over the slash, and immediately adjusted himself as he heard him reciting an incantation. Not bothering to wait for him to finish, he pointed his hand at him, making full use of incantation bypass.
"Hado #33, Sokatsui."
The stream of blue reiatsu shot forth, drowning out the green orbs from Ein's hado. Watching his current path and anticipating his landing zone, Shin pointed at where he would land, timing another kido spell to go off as soon as he landed.
"Carriage of Thunder. Bridge of a spinning wheel. With light, divide this into six. Bakudo # 61, Rikujōkōrō."
Whether or not it hit didn't particularly matter, but it would make Shin's next move much harder to evade. Holding out his zanpakuto, his reiatsu began surging again, as a smirk formed on his face.
"Embrace the darkness, Kumori." As his zanpakuto released, he felt as if time slowed down for him slightly, as his reaction time got boosted. A smirk forming on his face again, he flicked the blade forward, releasing a wave of dark 'flames' at Ein.

Ein watched for a moment as the hado streamed at him; thankful he had taken precautions during his previous motions. Placing the blade in front of the path of the fire; Ein changed his momentum and found himself sailing higher up creating reishi platforms for his feet before rolling out of the way of the flames before any serious damage could be done, though his arm was a little numb. Ein soon saw the tale tale signs of Bakudo 61 and moved out of the way; while staring down at Shin. “Your good kid, most people wouldn’t think to try to use a double kido attack so early on. Though neither of us are really tired enough to be caught off guard by them.”
Ein watched for a moment as Shin released his zanpakuto, noting the release phrase and the activation leading to his sword gaining a yin-yang symbol around the guard. Ein spat a little and held Tsume outward as inward his spirit was ready to be released. “So darkness really was your calling eh? Seems we have two of the same breed combating here…lets see whose is king.”
Tsume’s eyes bulged for a moment as it roared and bolstered himself for release, ready at any moment to fly toward in a frenzy. “DO IT NOW!!!”
Ein obliged his zanpakuto and let out; “Rise from the Darkness, Shintan Tsume!” The air around Ein and Shin blew wildly as Shintan Tsume disintegrated, black blades forming in the air and blowing back onto Ein’s arms just as the black flame approached him. The gauntlets formed and the excess energy from them was used to force the flames away from him into the air where they would cause no harm to the surroundings. Moving his fingers inside of the gaunlet’s Ein took in a deep breathe of air; it felt good to be one with Tsume again. “Works wonders don’t it? The conjunction with your zanpakuto, the rush of energy…Aww it’s grand isn’t it!?”

Shin was actually mildly impressed; Ein had evaded both of his attacks easily enough, walking away with only a minor scratch on his arm. This was definitely turning out to be worthwhile.
“You're definitely a former Special forces member, but I wonder what else you can do."
He felt the reiatsu coming from Ein, as he released his own zanpakuto, forming two black gauntlets on his arms that reminded Shin of a dragon's claws. The reiatsu released from his release pushed his attack out of the way, but there was plenty more where that came from. Especially since he managed to tick off Kumori.
Why does everyone assume that I'm male? First it was Tsuno, then this guy, what part of Kumori sounds masculine?
Oh calm down already, focus on dealing with his zanpakuto.
See who is the strongest? I'll corrode the scales off that lizard of his, just remember what I told you Shin.
“Works wonders don’t it? The conjunction with your zanpakuto, the rush of energy…Aww it’s grand isn’t it!?”
"It's always a blast, and it keeps blood thirsty zanpakuto spirits happy for a while, and not trying to drive you up a wall."
While saying that, Shin had started twirling his zanpakuto by the fox-tail, dark energy already starting to gather across the entire sword. Letting the funnel of darkness build, he flipped higher, levelling with Ein and out of the path of the buildings, before pointing his finger at the vizard.
"Bakudo #9, Geki."
The kido was really a distraction; he expected him to evade it, at which point Shin would just send Kumori flying at him, making the energy gathered explode outwards if Ein tried dodging or parrying. If it somehow hit, well that just made it easier to strike him.
