Name: City of Heroes Corruption
Genre: Super Hero action/adventure
Length: Depends on popularity
Rating: up to about 6. Though based on the way things work in both the DC and Marvel universes, people actually die "on screen" here, and potentially violently so.
Synopsis: Brightmoore City, a major city in the central parts of the United States has always been alive and shining in daytimes, as the many decade old structures shine up under the suns glare. However there is a much darker undercurrent to this city, who's name has lost all of it's original meaning. Corruption, both small and large with crime lords running their business freely in the cover of the night, the police doing nothing to stop them. What's more, very recently a new group has moved into town and begun their own operations, completely ignoring the frail and tense peace between the three major Criminal Syndicates that have practically been ruling the city for a decade now. This new organization does not seem intent on making money like the Syndicates, as they have seemingly been raiding only science facilities and other such locations, but what might be even stranger is how the buildings are always completely destroyed, and the newspapers pointing to one of the syndicates for the deed. As their goal is obscured, so it also their motives, for even as they are doing these deeds they continuously ambush groups from the Syndicates, seemingly provoking them. With nothing being done by the police, someone must step up to fight lest the city be plunged into oblivion, and millions of lives with it.
Setting: As is obvious by now, this is a super hero rp where people will be able to make up their own super powers and play around with them, and while I won't be too restrictive, I don't want any superman clones (invulnerability, 10 different (and powerful) abilities, etc). The technology of the world is largely as it is currently, with only a few smaller groups or individuals with "amazing" tech. Still nothing compared to Tony Stark's Iron Man suit however.
The rp itself will play out very freely, as in I won't be leading people by their hands, but you will have to make your own decisions. This naturally means you have a lot of freedom in what occurs, and I'll allow that as long as it isn't taken too far. As for what is too far, imagine either a lot of actions(not giving other's time to react), beating up a major baddy all by yourself in one post (same as before, but also overpowering your character), etc. Or finding the big bads secret base by chance, just won't happen. Use your common sense, and if you're unsure you can always ask me. Something to keep in mind however, super powers are VERY rare in this world, most people don't even know about them and most who do think they are just peoples imaginations, and it is preferable if you are either new as heroes, or aren't native to Brightmoore. (You don't necessarily HAVE to be a hero, but since I doubt we'll get enough to play sides I'd really appreciate it)
As should be obvious is that the city things will play out in is a take on Gotham, what with the corruption and stuff, but unlike Gotham the city is very bright looking during daytime, while it's true "face" comes around during the nights.

Name: Gender: Age:
Personality: Description: Short History: - optional, but a small bit of how your character became a "hero" would be appreciated.
Powers Example Power -power description-
Equipment Example item -item description-
Fairly basic app template, most of it should be self explanatory, but if you need to you can ask questions.
Keep in mind I might very well change the synopsis, as it's only something I came up with quickly, but if you have any opinions about it then I don't mind hearing that either.

Name: Zachary Haynes Gender: Male Age: 26 PersonalityPreviously Zachary was neither sheepish nor a gung-ho activist. He, like most people simply preferred to exist and fly under the radar. Not hiding from all the bad in the world but not seeking it out either, instead letting his life pass him by in a dull structured routine. When he was diagnosed with widespread cancer however his viewpoint changed, he came to realize that life was short and you only had that small window to make a change. Knowing that his days were numbered he looked around him to see all the violence and corruption that had taken the life of his father and sister. He decided he would do all he could to change the world before the disease finally claimed him or he was killed out there, figuring both were the same and he might as well do some good. He has not become a completely different person despite this epiphany. At times he would still prefer to tuck his tail between his legs and run like any person would but he forces himself not to. When facing crime his outlook is dependant on the crime. He will typically try to catch a criminal if possible, especially if they were little more than a petty thief or similar. However if their crime is severe he will place capturing them as secondary to making sure their actions are put to an end, as he becomes more aware of the police corruption he may take action into his own hands more often. He also will not put a innocent citizens life in danger, even if the crime is small if taking them down permanently is the only way to insure the citizens safety he will do so, figuring the criminal gave up their claim to safety when they chose to commit the crime. He has a rather excessive intellect despite his seeming “strong-man” appearance. He knows how to utilize almost all technology currently available outside of the more complex things some larger corporations might have tucked away. He can also think objectively and can spot things before they happen. He does not need to be told what to do or hand-held, he is perfectly capable of making his own decisions when under-fire. However he wont turn help away if it is timely and beneficial to his cause, nor will he turn away teaching if the one offering it seems knowledgeable and helpful. Physical DescriptionA large man, Zachary is made even larger by several years of activity intensive construction work. He is also exceptionally tan due to this work though the longer he goes into the RP, crime fighting at night and staying in during the day this is likely to pass. The longer the RP goes on the more evident the decay his disease is causing will also be. He has dirty-blonde hair, which he cuts short (about half an inch) and radiant hazel eyes that almost appear to glow. He usually wears various colors of t-shirt and jeans or khakis with work boots when off the job. Short History Zachary was born, one of the billions of individuals polluting this planet and for the better part of his life he wasn’t much better than them. Get a decent education, keep your head down and live your life to its destined conclusion, those were the rules he grew up by like most everyone else. He zombied his way through his school years with only one notable exception. At 15 he, his father and his sister went to the local drugstore to pick up some typical stuff. When there they just happened to wander into one of the countless random robberies that occurred in Brightmoore every day. The cops arrived shortly after thanks to the clerk having pushed a silent-alarm and a hostage situation began. Hours later the cops finally, out of options, rushed the building and in the ensuing firefight his father was shot and killed. His sister was also shot and though she was taken to the hospital and stabilized her condition faltered to everyone’s surprise a week later before she ever woke back up and she too passed away. For a time he was angry and like most righteous young men wanted to do something about the world around him, but it quickly became overwhelming and within months he had forgotten any such idealistic notions and returned to his previous ways. He went on to go through college and even though he graduated with a degree in computer science actually finding a job was more difficult than it might seem in the poor economic climate. Needing money he eventually took a job as a construction worker, which is where he has found himself until the current time. One day while on the job he was struck by an intense pain in his shoulder, going to the doctor and having it checked he was given unexpected and terrible news. His body was riddled with several kinds of cancer and even if he had the money (he certainly didn’t, insurance being impossible to come by and his pay being miniscule) the chances of survival were negligible. The doctor politely told him he had about a year and a half to live, maybe a year of that being without excessive pain and terminal issues. With that happy news Zachary found himself stepping into the nearest subway in a stupor, just wanting to get home. PowersAdvanced HumanZachary has no super-powers, he is for the most part a normal human. However it could be argued that he is slightly “super”. While he has no immediately notable traits he is, in comparison to the average individual, simply better. He learns faster, has quicker reactions and thinks on his feet. In short if it takes a normal person two months to become a trained marksman it would take Zachery two weeks. He can also learn by watching or by being acted upon, in other words if a criminal utilized a martial art on him he could learn it by watching and adapt it into his own arsenal rather quickly and with a few uses perfect its flow. From time to time when his adrenaline is pumping he may perform an extraordinary feat of acrobatics or strength however they will never be out of the realm of what an individual with training can realistically commit. At the start of the RP Zachary’s aim is basic at best, he has never wielded a real gun before now and so while he could probably hit something right in front of him, hitting a far off target would only be from sheer luck. He possesses a good deal of physical strength due to his laborious job and natural strength. His skill with that strength is nominal, he has taken some classes in Karate however they are the generic moves that can be taught at any inner-city dojo and though effective against street thugs probably wouldn’t cut it against those with actual training. Zachary starts with a higher mental acuity than his large size typically garners him the belief of, he is a college graduate with adequate knowledge in most subjects and a good deal of learning in all forms of computers. EquipmentOutfitWhat hero would be complete without a costume? In Zachary’s case he takes function over fashion and when he first starts it really couldn’t be considered a costume or armor at all. In the early RP he sports a trench coat, matching pants and shoes, he also wears a street bought bulletproof vest. To hide his face he wears large glasses and a black doo-rag with a long tail over his hair. Later on after meeting a certain individual he begins to acquire more complex equipment and this includes a new suit. A much tougher vest and body plating over his limbs, a complete mask and a visor that includes infra-red, movement and night vision modes. The clothing he wears over this is roughly the same as before if slightly more stylish, he wields a number of tools and weapons under his jacket. Likeness provided by Zhiel – ThanksWeaponryEarly on Zachary only has access to street-bought weapons such as shotguns, pistols and an assorted variety of blades. Later on he receives more advanced versions of these weapons as well as more technologically advanced fare. After gaining something of a teacher who supplies him with many gadgets his arsenal improves greatly. His teacher having a far tighter “no killing” rule tends to supply him with measures better utilized for taking an opponent down without killing them including advanced stun weaponry, flash and smoke bombs and a variety of debilitating blunt melee weapons. ToolsLock picks and an assorted miscellany of wires and computer equipment. Initially he has the former and it grows in complexity the further into the RP we get, computer equipment is introduced after meeting his teacher. Other items for breaking into areas and moving around undetected are included. TravelA ways into the RP Zachary gains a ride to move about the town. This is an advanced superbike which can hit an excess of 300mph on a straight-away though in the city it would be doubtful one could ever reach speeds much over 150 due to the congestion one has to dodge. Small rocket boosters allow for instances of super-speed and quick jumps, for instance if traveling via rooftops. Small weapons are included though having been completely crafted by his teacher they are intended for clearing obstacles from his path or stopping pursuers, not killing.

Name: Michelle Andrea MacNeil Gender: Female Age: 22 Personality: Michelle is a nice person at heart, someone who will always help you if you need it and someone who obviously cares for her fellow man. She is easily excited but is well-behaved and it is obvious she has been taught proper etiquette and protocol by her foster father, along with many other things. She is a brave woman who can keep calm in the most pressing of situations, but only while she herself is the one in the danger-zone, for her care of others gets in the way when out and about easily making her lose her edge or making rash and sometimes outright stupid decisions. This is not because she is stupid however, but rather that she tends to think awfully simple-mindedly when someone else is in danger. She can learn to keep calm when people she knows and trusts are in danger, to a certain extent, however if they should get hurt because she wasn't there to help she will feel terrible about it, thinking she have failed them. Maybe a bit TOO caring of a person. Despite this however she is fairly intelligent, able to hack intermediate computer security on her own as well as device combat strategies utilizing her power and weapons of choice. Description: Michelle is a fairly short woman, standing at the height of 4'9. However despite this she has a well-built body with a lean frame yet with clearly visible muscles when dressed in her outfit. In short she has the form of a trained athlete, and flexibility to match. She has chin-length bright blond hair which she let's hang loose when she is dressed up for her 'job', but otherwise keeps it gathered up behind her ears and over her neck, holding it together with a large brimmed white fedora hat, and usually wearing a bright blue/purple dress with long white gloves, a long skirt that reaches down to her feet but is cut up to her knees at each side, while she wears black leather heels. Casual ClothesShort History: Michelle was adopted by the multi-billionaire James MacNeil when her parents were murdered fifteen years ago. Though she did not see the deed with her own eyes, she had seen the armed men enter their house, heard the screams, and then the gunshots... And later her parents lifeless bodies. This had all left a deep mark in her, in particular the sound of the gunshots which killed her parents. It was several years later that Michelle found out a amazing, and yet at the same time terrible secret. James MacNeil was in fact 'Vigilante', a infamous man who had fought the crime in the city almost a decade ago, and though few of the higher standing citizens, or the press for that matter, would admit it he had rooted out most of it's corruption. Sadly all the battles had finally taken their toll on the man and he had been forced to retire, something he had done shortly after he had saved Michelle from some underground organization not even Vigilante knew much about, sadly he had arrived too late to save her parents. It seemed that despite her parents best attempts at keeping Michelle's "power" a secret, it had somehow leaked out, and 'they' had come for her. Though he reluctantly agreed to train her, he gave her very strict guidelines to follow as the conditions for this training, which she readily agreed to follow and has since formed her as both a person and a 'hero-to-be'. While well-trained in hand-to-hand and in wielding her weapons, she has very little actual experience as her 'old man' have rarely let her go out and actually do something until just recently. PowerSpace/Time Distortion, Instantaneous Matter TransportationAs named by her 'father', though Michelle herself simply calls it teleportation. This ability allows her to near-instantly move from one place to another, as long as it is within a reasonable distance and a place within her range of vision or a place she is certain about (Such as a ventilation shaft above her, if she is certain that it is safe.) However actually using the ability is new to her, and doing so causes a lot of stress on her body making her exhausted easily. As such she can only use this ability a couple of times per few minutes, and still be able to do move. Though she is capable of teleporting someone she is in physical contact with along with her, the effort will make her incapable of moving for several seconds even if she has not used the ability for several minutes, and the 'penalty' will only become worse if she has used it beforehand. EquipmentOutfitA highly advanced light-Kevlar jump-suit. Made from nano-fibers the protection provided by Michelle's 'outfit' is on par with military grade body-armors without hindering her mobility in the slightest. Though not truly thicker in those areas, the suit provides a higher grade of protection around her shoulders, back and thighs, having been constructed to take advantage of areas that won't need full flexibility. In that same regard Michelle wears steel plated bracers on her wrists and forearms, as well as a plate covering the back of her hands. As the bracers and her gloves are part of the same construction, she also has sharp retractable claws in the finger portions, which she can extend at will and is so sharp she is capable of grabbing onto straight surfaces of stone or weaker metals. Her boots are similar to her bracers, minus the claw bit. When out and about she uses a yellow scarf to conceal her facial features, covering all but her eyes, with her hair hanging freely and covering the rest. She has her double swords strapped to her back, forming a cross on her back with the hilts on the lower end, being stuck in the sheaths by pressurizing them, something which is released when her palms grip the hilts. Hero OutfitDual SwordsTwo simple western-looking swords. Measuring a total of 70 centimeters in length including the hilt which is thin, only two centimeters thick, made of steel and wrapped in black leather to improve grip. The guard has a simple rectangular shape and stands out roughly one inch on each side of the blade, painted black and like the hilt made of steel. The blades themselves are just a little bit over an inch wide and double edged, forming a sharp V at the tip and a straight line through the center of the blades where the edges meet one-another. At the center the blades are just over one centimeter thick at the base. Not the most solid weapons around, but light-weight and efficient for someone who relies of speed and flexibility. Utility BeltA black metal belt separated into multiple segments. Each segment contains a small 'pocket' which allows Michelle to store items up to a centimeter in width and five centimeters in height. Though she has a few other compartements on her outfit this is where she tends to keep all of her tools and similar items. A few includes lock picks, some thin metal wires as well as an assortement of computer hacking tools. It also holds a number of small triangle shaped throwing stars with a hole in the center, which she can use both as an offensive weapon and tied togheter with a wire for a number of uses. TravelSeeing as she can't overuse her power, Michelle is in need of another type of transportation when scouting the city. And as she prefers to remain undetected or hard to notice, a land based vehicle is not the best choice. So instead she uses fairly simple yet advanced para-glider, painted black and with a wing-span of only four meters, and being three meters long and formed in a V shape. The glider is mostly ordinary, however other than being made of a very rigid and sturdy material, it also has two rocket thrusters at the end of the wings, something which can be used to aid in getting up into the air, or increase the travel speed for a short time. However since it's made to be slim and efficient, it has very little room for fuel.

Name: Real Name: Jason Banks Often used aliases: Jesse, Vincent, Nathan. Last name constantly changes. Gender: Male Age: 22 Personality:Jason is, slightly complicated, he was raised by the phrase “nothing in life is free” and true to his parent’s word; nothing was, until he developed his power. And ever since that day he has gladly taken anything he wanted for free. Jason is one of the best con-artists in Brightmoore City. He has coned people out of there expensive cars, gold jewelry, and so much more. He keeps his game simple, get it, and get out as fast as he can. He is a rather petty thief, but keeps his big heists to only those who can afford to take the hit. He never takes from someone who looks to be just making it or not doing so well. Hell, sometimes he even helps a guy suffering out a bit or lets them in on his game once and a while for a quick poker match or something. And between casinos and people, he is living the life of a high roller and loving it. Despite being in a life of crime, he is still a very kind hearted person. He will stop and walk an old lady down the street, or even stop muggings, if it can be done without putting himself in harms way. He just simply doesn’t want to live a boring or normal life. He wants to just grab whatever he wants. He has learned how to handle himself in a fight. He knows how to shoot pretty straight and some basic fighting tactics. Though, if he can he would much rather run then fight someone. He lives by the motto “I run away so I can live to run away another day.” He also doesn’t really care for guns, but has reluctantly learned how to use them. He has been said to have a silver tongue, capable of charming anyone, which only helps his little “game.” He is quick witted, smooth, and a all around likeable guy. You just can seem to hate him. He is also highly observant, and highly intelligent. He has a I.Q. of 131, and is your typical, criminal, laid back, easy going, near genus super powered guy. Description:Coming in at six feet tall, 175 pounds! Jason isn’t really anything special. Sure he is devilishly handsome, with his long jet black hair and his slender build. His style is a bit odd to most, consisting of vests, skinny ties, and odd hats. Every day he tries something new, and sometimes he looks just like a cartoon, and he loves that. His hair is usually combed backwards, as he tries to keep it off his forehead. He has brown eyes, that are for the most part, rather bland. And to most people who pass by him he is just another face, and that helps when he takes something. Image In His Likeness, Thank You Zhiel Short History: Born to a family with champagne taste on a beer budget, he was taught manners, morals, and to appreciate the finer things in life when he could get them. He was raised to respect his elders, and his mates. He had a good education at several private schools. Several manly because he was expelled from them for tardiness, flunking out, falling asleep in class, ect.. Sure he knew how hard it was for his parents to send him to these schools, but he hated it. Everyone thought they where better then him, and the school itself was SO boring. It was a hard twelve years, but he managed to pass with a 2.3 GPA. It was about two months after graduation that his parents finally had talked him into collage. He went to Stanford Brown university, and after several arguments over different things with all his teachers about physics, inventions, and countless other topics he finally dropped out saying that they where complete idiots and it wasn’t worth his money to be there. He moved to Brightmore to get a taste of some excitement, and boy oh boy did he get more then he asked for. Crime, gambling, it was all new to him, even in San Fransico he had never really been exposed to it like he was here. And he loved it, the rush he got when he conned a sucker out of a few hundred dollars. He started to get with a few other crooks, and they started to run cons, and gambling rings all across Brightmore, and they where good. But like most men, they got greedy. They decided to boost a car, and it just so happened the car they boosted was one of the head of one of Brightmores biggest crime ring. Two weeks after, his buddies where dead, and he had to find some way to pay back what the crime lord thought he owed him. He smoothed talked his way out of a death sentence and was now in debted to a crime lord for thousands and thousands of dollars. And by the stroke of luck, six months ago his power surfaced, now he is running everything, everywhere that he can to make the eigty grand he owes, or he is on the run for his life. PowersChange of face: The simplest of his techniques, Jason moves his hand over something, and it changes how it looks to match whatever he wants. He can only change the size and shape a little bit, a example would be making a gold chain into a barb wire. But the thing is, it’s only an illusion, and it disappears at either his will or after a hour. Later on in the Rp he can physically change objects. Copy Cat:Just like the name suggests, Jason can copy objects. For now he can only copy simple things, like keys, money, chains, ect. Later on in the Rp he will be able to copy even more complex things like computers, and eventually even powers. Like the Change of face though, all the things he copies get destroyed, or are returned to what they where before, nothing. Later on in the Rp he will be able to create things forever, but it requires hours of creating, and hours of holding the object in his hand. Keys, and non complex things only take a few seconds to temporarily copy, more complex things like computers take around twenty minutes, powers, he needs to taste a drop of blood and after about ten minutes he can use a weaker version. His version of powers are deluded, with only about half the strength of the original. Permanent copying of powers is impossible, and he can only make them last about two hours. Permanent copying of simple objects like keys takes about ten minutes and complex things like computers, hours. EquipmentBoot GunA simple nine millimeter boot gun that holds five + one round inside it. He tries to never have to use the gun, but will in his most desperate hour or to intimidate someone. Aston Matron DBSHis crown jewel, and favorite thing in the world. His car. He won the Aston Marton DBS in a poker game while betting a car he had just stole.

Name: Arc, last name unknown. Alias Card Gender: Male Age: 19 Personality:Mysterious sums up Arc quite nicely. Just what the guy is up to is never easy to figure out; he helps out people one minute, and the next, he's robbing them blind. Despite this however, one thing he does stay constant on is his desire to protect whoever he deems innocent enough from harm - unless you annoy him or you're well off, in which case he might relieve you of some goods as payment after the fact. On the subject of relieving stuff. Arc is a highly accomplished pickpocket, and a master of card tricks, and slights of hand in general. He typically uses said card tricks to win card games when gambling, which is how he's become quite well off himself. His desire to have some excitement in his life keeps drawing him to mess with other criminals for fun and profit though. Description:Arc is 6'1", dark skinned, with short black hair that looks like it needs a comb more often than not. Physically, he has a lighter, thin build, although he does have muscles under all those clothes. Despite him having a considerable amount of money, he typically dresses in a jersey, jeans with more than a few pockets, and a large jacket, absolutely ridden with pockets along it's inner side, although most people would never notice this due to it being closed partially most of the time, and gloves. Generally, if he's walking on the street, you wouldn't give him more than a second glance - standing out isn't something he wants, when he isn't at play. Typical Clothing (Courtesy of Zhiel ) When doing the many things he does where it would be best if his identity was hidden, he typically wears a jester's mask - why a jester's mask? He can carry it on him easily enough, and it's freaky enough to be interesting. Short History: Arc was born an orphan, which meant that he quickly learnt the value of fighting for what you wanted. When everyone was half-starved, one also learnt that even the little things had value if you were skilled enough to find uses out of it. Arc found his joys in books, mainly because they doubled as reading entertainment, and a beatstick. When his powers started to manifest though, he found an entirely new purpose in the books. Arc was a smart kid, and he quickly decided that his powers were something to keep to himself. He spent the next few years practicing his control, which in of itself was easier said than done. During this time, his readings focused more on things related to his abilities, and this was how he found out the wonders of card games - cards, which conveniently are made out of a type of paper. Soon enough, between his natural skills, and cheating by various methods, Arc got himself enough money to take care of himself without ever getting a real job, which suited him just fine. Although a few run ins with some of the seedier people he beat gave him another epiphany - if they reacted like that to just losing a card game, their reactions to getting robbed blind would be even better. Besides, it was getting harder to find a decent gambling joint now. PowersPaper manipulationYes, paper manipulation. It's far more useful than it sounds. Arc has the power to control paper, which includes anything made from, or that contains a paper based product. He can cause it to levitate, and shoot it forward at high speeds, along with building various objects out of it as long as he has enough paper to work with. Just how is this of any practical use? He can also control the density of the paper. Those cards he might throw become an actual threat when they're all as hard and sharp as a knife. As it stands, he can only boost the hardness and density to the level of steel at maximum, and the larger the amount of area he's trying to change, the lower his limit before it becomes too straining. Later on, his control will improve, and he'll become capable of changing the area of a paper object. EquipmentAssorted paperWhat is there to describe? He keeps many decks of cards on him, his preferred paper object to manipulate when there isn't any paper around him. He also has various smaller paper objects he carries on him, multiple sheets of paper folded up to very small balls, origami, whatever suits his fancy. One can find a small paper craft on many parts of his body, folded into something until it is needed. ToolsArc has a various assortment of lockpicking tools on him, and generally things one would use for breaking and entering. He also carries real knives on him. TravelArc's pride and joy is a a sleek black motorcycle he owns, perfect for bypassing traffic and for when he needs to get about. Otherwise, he rides on a platform crafted from paper, although he can't keep that up for extended periods of time.

Name: Luna Gender: Female Age: 16 Personality: Luna’s personality is almost as stable as her mental state, which is not saying a lot at all. Her personality is prone to severe and sometimes violent mood swings, and her powers have done little to improve upon this since she discovered them. Her insanity allows her, however, to see the world in a way no other would be able to (or often want to) and as such she often is characterised by the state of her mind. Her mind, while plagued by many other moods (so to say) often swings between four distinct expressions. Luna: Her usual and generally the most stable of her moods is similar to that characterised by the moon. She acts omniscient, as if from her position the world itself is laid bare before her, and all look up to her in her presence. Her demeanor is cold and calculating; often working with others while in this mood is difficult for her as she prefers to stand alone, and is prone to calling out seemingly random lines of numbers and words, which in her mind are many things which are inconceivable to a sane mind. Solis: The next most stable mood is that of the sun. She becomes violent, but happy at the same time, often experiencing seemingly random bursts of intense euphoria and bloodlust simultaneously or in rapid succession. She also is taken easily by the heart, and all too often can be distracted by a pretty face and well shaped body (male or female, she’s not picky)that happens across her path. Mortis: Her less stable mood is the personification of death. She becomes obsessed with death, of taking lives, and bodies for that matter, and grows to deeply resent the living. This is the only mood in which she will happily take a corpse as her host, and unlike other moods she revels in the sensation life after death brings. She tends to regard allies and foes in the same way, bodies that are yet to be dead, and when pushed she will do all in her power to rectify this. Insania: Her final and least stable moodset is the very embodiment of true herself, insanity. Her speech no longer seems coherent, and her eyes are constantly glazed over, though always moving. She never blinks, nor does she ever stop moving, every moment she is fidgeting with something, to stand still would be death, and death would be a minor inconvenience at any particular point of time. In this mood, she is much more attuned to the world, things which no one else would ever think to notice become clear as daylight to her, but the lack of cohesion or functional memory are often severe impediments to her cause. She truly loves nothing, but she houses a seething hatred for staff of asylums, who treated her so poorly and abused her so often in the time she was locked in the Brightmoore Mental Institution. Anyone who is, pretends to be, or even vaguely resembles an asylum worker will find themselves in more worlds of pain then their unbroken minds can comprehend, often despite the urgings of other heroes and general population around her. PhysicalDescription: Luna dresses in a long black trench coat, made from leather and covered in straps and buckles. Underneath she wears a black bodysuit, laden with belts in every direction, which make seeing her body almost impossible, especially in the night. She is around 5”3’, and her hair reaches her shoulders, is dead straight, and as white as pale moonlight. Her eyes are a similar colour, and a crescent moon tattoo covers her right eye. A large scythe, with a blackened metal shaft and a silvery crescent blade, is strapped to her back, and always surrounded by a faint and barely noticeable blue-green glow. Courtesy of ZhielShort History: At the age of three, Luna witnessed the rather brutal murder of her parents, by a man in a strange costume, with a large crescent moon inlaid on his cape. That moment marked the first pivotal moment in Luna’s life, forever would she be scarred by this event, and her mind very quickly spiraled downwards into the madness that consumed her. Within a week, she was sent to an orphanage, where she lived seemingly happily until she was five, when another child dressed up as a magician, garbed in a purple robe decorated with stars and crescent moons. Reports on the incident noted that safety scissors were used to slowly remove the child’s head from his body as Luna lashed out at him, and her vicious flailing prevented anyone from drawing near enough to stop her. She was sent to Brightmoore Mental Institution, for evaluation and rehabilitation, instead she was tortured, abused and experimented upon every day for the next ten years. Her mental state grew increasingly unstable during this period, and no less than fourty asylum workers were severely injured, and a further fifteen were killed in that time, and she gained a reputation as an impossible case. Records were made to say that she had died, but in truth she was taken further down into the asylum so that the doctors there could continue to perform their psycho-surgical experiments upon her. These experiments were aimed at dividing and controlling her damaged mind, and on building predetermined triggers for mood swings, so as to craft her into a military spy capable of sudden violent attacks, and then an instantaneous switch to a more passive mood. However mildly successful they were, Luna did not appreciate what was being done to her mind, and when she was nearing her sixteenth birthday, her powers activated for the first time. While struggling to resist being taken to the operating theatre again, her body suddenly slipped through the hands of the workers dragging her, she had become wholly insubstantial. Not wanting to waste time thinking about how, she flew through the walls and left the asylum, returning to the home she had once lived in as a child. [Note: While she had no memory of the place, her file, which was often read aloud in her presence, had given her the address her parents had died at, and thus enabled her to find it with minimal difficulty.] Upon finding her home uninhabited, her body regained corporality, and for the next year she secluded herself from the world, practicing and mastering the different aspects of her powers. While she is unsure if she has fully reached her potential, she is certain that she has the strength to venture out into the world and make a difference, and that she has done, as she set out to fight crime and anything else she didn’t particularly like in the city. That, and her house got demolished, so she was kind of forced out, but she would never admit to that. PowersEthereality: At its most basic form, Luna’s powers allow her body to cease to be corporeal, and become ghost-like in almost every way. She becomes immune to mundane physical objects, and generally only energy based attacks are capable of damaging her. That said however, she becomes extremely weak to electricity in this form, as it is almost pure energy, and a sudden electric shot will cause her body to return to its corporeal form almost instantaneously, with grievous body wounds. In addition, her powers are shocked, and she cannot activate them again for an hour after contact with energy based attacks. [This includes lasers, tasers, lightning, or any other justifiable energy attack.]This form also allows her to fly, which makes her an excellent scout, but the high presence of electricity in clouds makes high altitude flight incredibly risky, as a fall from that height would kill her outright. Posession: The more advanced aspect of her power is her ability to, while in her ethereal form, possess a body, and this serves two functions. One: She can take control of a body, and gain full use of its abilities (if she knows what they are and has seen them used before, or the host spirit explains their use to her), which is done automatically if the host is dead or willing, but strong willed individuals can eject her from their bodies through sheer force of will. As she is relatively untrained in the use of this ability, the will required to kick her out of a body is not noticeably taxing on any reasonably powerful individuals. Possessing a corpse allows a free possession of anything that is dead, however she can only maintain herself in a dead body for ten minutes, before the body rejects her automatically. The other function is to passively ‘hitch a ride’, where she possesses a body, but acts as the dormant spirit. This way she can get through places (such as electrical fields) she would otherwise be unable to do so, or to move stealthily into an enemy base (her regular form, while untouchable, is still visible, this allows much more efficient infiltration) and also allows her to speak directly to the mind of the host carrying her. The rules for possession are still the same, a dead or willing body is a guaranteed success, and while in this form she is harder to remove, strong individuals can still do so with minimum fuss. EquipmentTrench Coat with Buckles: While seemingly a mundane coat, the material is such that it bonds with her own body when she changes forms, allowing her to continue wearing the coat when she is ethereal, instead of becoming naked (as that would be bad.) Ghost-Reaper: Luna’s wicked looking scythe is 6” in length, the blade reaching 3”6’ at its furthest point. While it, like Luna’s coat, becomes ethereal when she does, it serves only as looks, unless she runs into another ethereal being, at which point she will precede to reap the hell out of them. The Ghost-Reaper has no effect on the corporeal world while it is not part of it. However, in her corporeal form, its just a regular scythe that is nigh-impossible to break.
