Hey...how is everyone...? Uh...
*awkward silence*
Right...I'll get straight to the point than.
I ended up in a car accident. I shattered my right femur right by my knee so my knee had to be completely rebuilt. I also broke the right side of my pelvis, I knocked it in to where it was digging into the center of my back inside my body. My right wrist was broken, than had to be operated on and rebroken because it collapsed during the healing process. And as if that wasn't bad enough, I broke 6 ribs on my left side.
I was lucky they didn't amputate my leg, and i was VERY lucky I'm still alive. There was less than a hand width between the steering wheel and the seat. The engine block was sitting right where the radio was, the windshield and all the windows were shattered, it was...horrible. I can remember looking at my arm and just seeing it fucked up, knowing it was broken before the pain even hit me...I climbed out of the car myself, (adrenaline is a doozy) and my body didn't actually register the pain till I was on the ground.
I'm still not done healing yet, got a while of that to go. I went through a month of being in the trauma center, another week in another less intensive ward, than i was moved to a Rehabilitation clinic to get physical therapy and occupational therapy to learn to cope with being so badly disabled for awhile. I stayed there for two weeks before coming home finally.
I'm living back with my family at the moment, I can't walk at all, and my knee is like three times bigger than it should be. I lost 65 pounds, have longass zipper scars from my three operations, and on top of all that...I now have to go back and do physical therapy again to learn how to walk, which so far has been almost as painful as my last week in the hospital. (Which wasn't as painful as that first month cause it was my recovery week rather than the trauma i went through from the accident and my surgeries. I had my leg in traction for the first week which hurt so bad I WANTED to die.)
So...in conclusion I AM sorry I didn't get back to you sooner...Things have just been really hard that's all. I still can't even bare any weight on my leg yet, and I may never be able to snowboard again.
Anyway...ya, sorry guys...If you'd still have me, I'd like to come back.
