Shinigami
General Info
Name:
Naiyashi Tayte
[Surname, Given]
Gender:
Female
Age:
182
Division:
Two
Rank:
Third Seat
Physical Description:
Tayte wears the usual Shinigami uniform, and wears it proudly. She weighs 156lbs and is 5’9” in height. Tayte has bright blue eyes and matching hair color. She wears gloves that expose her fingers. The only difference between the gloves in the picture and the ones she wears is that hers are black, as is her Shinigami uniform instead of brown, as in the picture. Also, she does not wear a hat. She wears glasses, which she doesn’t need. It really is just there for show. There is also an oddly designed tattoo spiraling up her right arm and stretching over her right shoulder blade.
Personality:
Tayte falls under the category of serious and stern. She is almost never caught smiling. Though she does possess the natural emotions such as joy, sadness, and anger, she has them bottled up with a tight lid. Even in a fight, which often brings out some form of emotion (be it fear, excitement, etc.), Tayte’s demeanor remains unaltered. This allows her to keep her mind clear and not attack out of emotion. Tayte is somewhat of an intellectual. She is able to come up with incredible strategies in her mind within moments. Though Tayte is quite vicious at times, her facial expression never changes. When she looks at someone or something, it’s always the same, passive gaze. The young woman is also extremely loyal. She would go out of her way for not only a companion but also a person who is unable to do something themselves. The woman is an extremely hard worker. She will put in a hundred and twelve percent in everything she does. Tayte is easily vexed and if she deems something unworthy of a reply, she will simply ignore it. The young woman is not a very talkative person. She usually sticks to her one worded answers. Tayte shows little respect for anyone. To those who she is obligated to give respect to, she will merely hold her tongue. Her mind is a book all to her own. Anything she cannot say aloud will remain as mere thoughts.
Tayte is extremely picky when it comes to food. The only time she shows her childish side to an extreme is when she comes face-to-face with a plate containing vegetables, fruits and anything else that does not contain meat. Needless to say the woman really loves meat, especially red meat. Tayte also hates to talk unnecessarily. Why? It’s too much trouble, plain and simple.
Tayte truly is a complex individual. Her train of thought, her actions, and her words change with each passing moment. Though she usually keeps to herself, there are a few occasions were she will act out of emotions. She is also heavily driven by curiosity and intrigue. The woman puts on a mature, sophisticated, and stern guise. However, the truth of the matter is that she is quite childish. Luckily, the woman is somewhat of a good actress and can wear the disguise like a trench coat. Overall, Tayte is a solitary person.
History
Life
As a young girl, Tayte was blessed with high spirit pressure, and unfortunate to be born in one of the countries roughest neighborhoods. Though she was constantly seeing ghosts, she ignored them. The young girl went into permanent denial. Though they were in her face, clear as day, she did not allow herself to admit their existence. On top of it all, her older brother was capable of seeing the ghosts as well. Since he was always going out of his way to help the lingering souls to find peace, ghosts continued to show up on their doorstep, hoping to be helped into the afterlife as well. Tayte had always been popular during her school years. She was almost always found in the center of the crowd. Filled to the brim with emotions, Tayte was a real joy to be around. Also, Tayte’s younger brother would always be seen tagging along behind her. He was with her more often then their older brother. Tayte didn’t mind having her younger brother with her all the time. The only time she chased him away was when she knew she was about to get into a fight.
Throughout her middle school years, she was constantly getting herself into fights, and for some reason, she always seemed to enjoy it. Tayte was the most pleased, when going head-to-head with some other guy who was usually twice her size. She not only held her own in her various scraps and skirmishes, she was usually the one knocking the other guy around. In high school, the young girl continued her violent ways. She had finally managed to get herself into a tight situation, one where she couldn’t muscle her way out. Though the young teenager had fought more than four guys at once, these weren’t any ordinary punks. They were gangsters. Gangsters that took they’re job as serious as if it were a profession. She had fought one of them a few days back and now they were coming for revenge. Though they didn’t really care for petty high school fights, Tayte had beaten up own of their new recruits during her lunch break, and now, to uphold the reputation of their gang, they had to handle their business, whether it’s protecting their turf, or getting revenge on a young girl.
Stuck in an ally-way, Tayte thought there was no way out, until older brother stepped in and rescued her. She had been beaten severely, and her brother managed to toss the four goons around with ease. Picking the young girl up, he gave her a long and annoying lecture. The tone in his voice was one Tayte had never heard from her indolent brother. It put a bit of fear into the girl, enough fear for her to not simply brush of his lecture and go about doing whatever she felt as she would usually do. He had told her, to sum it all up, not to fight… ever… Despite the fact that Tayte thought it was outrageous, she accepted it.
Since that day, the citywide gang was looking to settle the score. It was only a few days after the young girl’s brother pulled her ass out of the fire, when he was tossed into it. A quick drive-by ended his short life. It was at this point in time, the young girl picked up her passive demeanor. Tayte wanted, more than anything, to gain revenge for her brother’s death. However, with a very convincing mother, she was eased away from the temptation of vengeance.
At the age of twenty-four, the young woman had gotten a job a convenience store. It was a simple part-time job to get a little money as she looked for a career. The same gangsters find out where she worked. Oblivious to what was going on, Tayte was in the backroom sorting boxing. The smell of smoke drew the girl out. The entire store was ablaze. With all the exits blocked, the young woman burned to death before any firefighters arrived.
Death
Filled with anger, the deceased woman lingered on in the city. She desperately wanted to get her own revenge on the men that had caused her death. She spent most of her time watching over her younger brother. He was in his last year of high school and had picked up Tayte’s love of fighting. However, unlike his two older siblings, he was unable to see spirits. He was still as joyful as he always was. Even with both his older siblings deceased, the adolescent boy appeared unaffected. However, he was truly scared by their deaths. Going from the youngest of three to an only child in a matter of months is not the most enjoyable scenario to go through. Despite this and the many fights he ends up in, Tayte’s younger brother was still found in the center of his own crowd, just as Tayte had been.
Tayte watched with pride as her little brother fought two guys older than him and dragged his friend out of a difficult situation. The woman had been dead for two months before she was attacked by some sort of monster. She managed to escape from the monster. The young woman ran to a deserted warehouse in fear. She had never before seen such an abomination. Though she seen many ghosts, this was her first time coming across a hallow. It was down right frightening. Wide-eyed and short-breathed, Tayte had never felt fear like this before. Unfortunately, she wasn’t given much time to rest from her first fight before three more monsters appeared. All three attacked at the same time. For the first time in her life, she shut her eyes out of fear and braced herself for the worse. A moment had passed and she felt nothing. Tayte opened her eyes and the monsters were gone and there was a man standing in front of her. The man wore all black and had a silver katana. Before she got a chance to thank him, he sent her to the soul society.
Academy
Tayte was dead for merely a few months before she ended up joining the academy. The many years she spent fighting in the street allowed her to excel at hand-to-hand combat. However, her swordsmanship skills were sub-par. In the academy, Tayte was soon in the center of the crowd once again, bringing back fond memories. The young girl quickly built up a rivalry with one of the other students. He was both a good friend, and a more than worthy sparring partner. Tayte had always mopped the floor with him in hand-to-hand combat, while she was defeated during the sword training. Because of their numerous spars, Tayte’s swordsmanship skills improved drastically, while his combat skills increased as well. Eventually they both graduated from the academy together.
Present
Flying through the ranks, Tayte has reached the third seat of the second division.
Additional Info:
Tayte has now developed her swordsmanship skills to the point that it even surpasses her incredible skill in hand-to-hand combat. Tayte is also training to achieve bankai.

This blade is simply a hilt with black lightning expanding forward appearing as the blade, because of this, the sword cannot cut through anything. Instead, it will pass through the object. This will allow it to electrocute the object from the inside out. Once it penetrates the object, it will leave a burn mark where an ordinary sword would have left a gaping wound. However, when coming into contact with a zanpakuto (or any other enemy weapon with equal or greater power), it will contact physically. Also, Tayte is capable of shooting out black lightning (the same size as the blade itself) at great speeds with a simple swing of her blade, though, the more times she uses it, the more energy is drained from her.
Great Lightning Wave
Raising Hitokai to the sky, Tayte will then slam the blade on the ground. This will shoot black lightning forward in a straight manner. The lightning will be about four meters wide and will extend for as long as Tayte required it to. However, the longer the lightning extends, the more Tayte will feel drained.
Shield
This creates a large shield of lightning. Aiming the blade forward, black lightning will leave the tip of the blade and reach around Tayte. This will encase the woman in a protective dome made from pure lightning. Also, Tayte is not obliged to close of the dome. The lightning could simply protect the front of her, leaving her back exposed. She is also able to make her shield large enough to protect her companion(s). This is a strong shield, it is capable of protecting her from multiple low level attacks. As for the stronger ones, the first hit it will crack and the second hit will cause it to shatter.

Tayte sat atop a rooftop, staring out at the night sky. She had been conversing with a younger shinigami, though he had long since left the roof the woman now sat upon. Hitokai had been materialized, not for battle, but for keeping the woman company. Since the other shinigami left, Hitokai had been her only source of entertainment. Putting his arrogant comments aside, she managed to converse peacefully with him for a brief moment. However, the inevitable had occurred. The two had gotten deep into an argument. The argument was over something as simple as what they’re next activity was. Hitokai wanted to simply sleep, while Tayte was looking to get some training in. She was always up for bettering herself, no matter the time of day. Hitokai’s lazy attitude only came out when the sun went down. Before that, it’s Tayte who was looking to take a break.
”What will you gain from a few seconds of swinging me around?”
Hitokai spoke in his usual pompous tone of voice. Ignoring the high-pitched screech in his voice, Tayte replied.
”Everything…”
Glaring the dog-like creature in his eyes, she continued.
”… and who ever said it would only be for a few seconds?”
Out of spite, the woman spoke to him as though he were a child. Tayte’s expression almost instantaneously reverted back to its passive gaze as she withdrew eye contact. Turning her head to the sky, she watched the numerous stars twinkle, as if they were dancing on the black sky. The dog’s comments were drowned out as she acted as though she were mesmerized by the abundance of stars.
Hey! Are you even listening?”
Snapping back to attention, Tayte stared at him. Slowly shaking her head from side to side, the woman hoped off the rooftop. She had grown bored with the argument. He was allowed to do whatever he wished. Regardless of his decision, she had made up her mind about what to do. It was around three o’clock in the middle of the night, and she was headed to her favorite training grounds. She would get in about an hour in before she headed home.
