Shinigami
Name:Seishuku Saishun
Gender:Male
Age:527 (27)
Division:8
Rank:Liutenant
Physical Description: Seishuku’s hair is all spiked up, but the spikes curve forward toward his face. Seishuku’s hair is split into three even parts, one in front, a part in the middle, and then the part of his hair in the back. The foremost part of his hair extends until it is parallel with the end of his cheek, is a deep crimson, with many small bangs falling to just above his eyebrows. The secondary section of his hair is a very light scarlet, which covers the remainder of the top of his head. The scarlet section most notably contains large bangs, one on each side of his head, which cover his ears almost completely. The back of his head is the only part that the third of his tri-color hair resides. The back section’s color resembles that of Rangiku Matsumoto, and the Vice-Captain is very fond of it. It extends into three large crescent shaped extensions, which go down to his shoulder blades.
Seishuku stands at about 5’11” to 6’0”, and weighs about 135 pounds. His eyebrows are the same scarlet color as the secondary section of his hair. His eyes are the same color as the third section. Seishuku wears thw typical Shinigami robe. His obi sash is the only thing that stands out about his clothing, as it is crimson. He wears the same Shinigami wooden sandals as everyone else. His sheath is hung from his obi sash on his left hip.
Personality: At first encounter, Seishuku seems very reserved. He would rather give a physical gesture and be done with it, and the head nod is his favorite. Seishuku takes no visible interest in his subordinates either, unless he notices something peculiar about them. He does however; take an interest in some people in his mind, and often can recall the slightest details of a person he ‘didn’t have any interest in’. Seishuku only speaks when he has to, and his subordinates pay attention when he does. His conservative demeanor is not meant as a form of disrespect, but it can be taken as an insult by nobles and higher ranking officers.
The reason he is so reserved is because of his own lack of confidence, and his sensitivity to the feelings of those he cares about. Seishuku secretly cares a lot about his friends, and will risk his own life to save them, even if he won’t speak to it. Paired with his tendency to make mental notes, is his extreme perceptiveness. He likes to figure out a person’s motives and goals before he even begins to talk to them. He likes to speak casually to everyone, except those he respects and admire through personal experience. For example, he will call a known officer, regardless of rank with their titles or honorifics, while someone like Byakuya Kuchiki would be addressed as ‘Kuchiki’ or ‘Byakuya’. When Seishuku becomes attached to somebody, he will protect them from anything, even a verbal assault. This often leads him to be overprotective and then pushed away by those he knows, which could also be a reason for his quiet demeanor. Seishuku is also not very persistent in most things. To those that he knows extensively, he can be flamboyant and fun, often cracking jokes and smiling.
History: Seishuku was born in the fortieth district of Rukongai, an unknown amount of years ago. Being in the exact center point of Rukongai, he didn’t have a poor and tough life, but not a particularly privileged one either. His mother stayed home to cook and clean, whilst his father owned a small fruit and vegetable cart, selling them in the middle of a big market place. The only thing Seishuku could complain about was his last name, which closely resembles the word for leader. His family had a legendary reputation, but hadn’t lived up to it in recent times.
Before his life in Soul Society, Seishuku was a highly ranked fencer in the global stadium. At the time fenicing was more of a way to exhibit one's skill, rather than a sport. He lived a good life under the fame and riches of his title as 3rd ranked fencer, but due to a condition in his heart, he developed irregular heartbeat and died in his mid to late 20's. With no regrets he passed on to other side to begin life anew, in the Soul Society.
His family was legendary because during the formation of the Gotei 13, his family gave hefty funds, and even had a few generations of captains. Their assistance and previous proof of Shinigami prowess had built the Saishun Clan a reputation that they couldn’t keep up for more than a few generations. The clan’s age was now measured by generations after ‘The Grand Teichou Era’, and Seishuku’s is the twenty-seventh generation after the last Saishun captain. Because of his family’s inability to live up to such a high standard, it was often at the tail end of many jokes. It was only a minor thing, but it drove a very sensitive, young Seishuku to silence. Though he had awoken in Soul Society at the age he had died, he still kept this childish sensitivity to what was going on. He had been accepted into the clan by a married couple who could not have children of their own. As such, he addressed them as mother and father.
Seishuku was walking back from helping his father in the market, when he felt that he was being followed. He turned his head to see a wolf, looking at him eye to eye. Seishuku was panicked for a little bit, but upon looking at the beast he could tell it meant him no harm. It gave him a look, wagged its tail, and walked off. The next day Seishuku took a different path, and encountered the same wolf following him. It stared at him, wagged its tail and then left, in the same manner as before. Once more he met up with the wolf, and this time he decided to speak. “What is it that you want?” The wolf looked at him inquisitively and responded with a soft voice. “What you want.” The wolf cocked her head in one direction, beckoning the young boy to follow her. They climbed to the top of a building, and were able to see a ceremonial release of a Captain’s Shikai. It was amazing. When Seishuku turned back to the wolf, she was gone.
From that day on, he dreamed of being a Shinigami. His dream always ended with that wolf catching on fire, and for many nights he wouldn’t sleep. His meetings with that wolf stopped as well. A few years afterwards, he was running his father’s shopping cart when a lady walked up to the cart and picked out a few choice fruits, and then a few more, and then more, until she had filled up three baskets. When Seishuku stated her total, she smiled and then reached to her side, pulling out her purse. She looked into her wallet and her face sunk. “Oy, it seems a bit short!” She blushed, obviously embarrassed. The kart hadn’t had much business lately, so Seishuku decided to spare her the extra sum of cash. “Thank you so much, how can I repay you?” She exclaimed loudly, causing everyone in the market to look at the two. “That’s fine, it really wasn’t that much.” Seishuku was trying to calm her down, because he really hated the attention. “Oh but I need to!” She pushed, still being very loud. “Fine, fine. But we’ll have to go elsewhere.”
He walked the lady out of the market, and into a side street. He noticed that she was wearing a Shinigami robe. Before he could say anything, she had begun talking already. “It’s not important. What’s your name?” She said cheerfully. “Seishuku Saishun. Anyway, you are a Shinigami, right?” He tried to get to the point quickly. “Yes, why?” Seishuku’s eyes now held determination. “I need to become a Shinigami.” The woman looked at him apologetically. “Sorry, but you have no Spiritual Power, and your Reiatsu….” Seishuku wasn’t paying attention to her words. “Listen…..Shinigami-san; I really need to be a Shinigami. Not for myself, but for my family. Please.” He wasn’t comfortable talking that much, but he had no choice. “Okay then. But only because of your last name. She gave him a strong stare. “Meet outside the gate tomorrow.” With that the Shinigami left, and Seishuku went home to prepare.
After informing his parents, Seishuku went to sleep and dreamed about the wolf again. This time, she led him down a path, with a bright light at the end, but he awoke before he could reach it. He arrived at the gate on time, but the Shinigami wasn’t there. After an hour she showed up. “Sorry, I went to the fruit cart but no one was there!” Seishuku chose to refrain from commenting, but made an agreeing face, with inner sarcasm. They headed into the gate. Soon Seishuku was enrolled in the Shinigami academy. He excelled in hand to hand combat and sword play, as well as kido accuracy. He failed kido classes several times; because of his low Spiritual Power, he was unable to use strong kido.
His life in the academy was lackluster, and he made not even a single aquaintance. He clearly had a mission, and a purpose. That purpose was to achieve the goal that had evaded his family for so long; the title of Captain. He had no time for fun, no time for games. He may have well been the last hope to save his family's name. Seishuku couldn't let such kind, loving people could have their reputation tarnished because of insanely high expectations. He would meet those expectations, and surpass them, for his family.
One night, Seishuku dreamed of the wolf again. This time she told him her name, and told him with that, he could release his sword and pass the academy. It turned out that he needed to train a bit more before he could really release his sword. Two weeks after the dream, he released his Shikai and passed the academy. He was suggested for Squads 2 and 11, because of his better physical and swordsman skills. However, he was pulled into Squad 8 because of his 'Pack Leader' attitude. The captain came out to check on his new recruits. Many people noticed his lack of reiatsu, which generally led to underestimation of his strength, allowing to beat many of his peers who had their Shikai without the use of his own. After a demonstration of his Shikai, he was promoted to fifth seat. After many missions, as well as a few to the real world, Seishuku was promoted to the third seat. He has mastered Bankai only very recently, so his mastery level is understandabley low. He has yet to show anyone his Bankai, and was only promoted to Liutenant a month ago.
Additional Info: Very adept at reading body language and vocal tone. He also dislikes the sunlight, and wears a scowl during the majority of the daytime. In the mornings, he is at his peak of irritation, and will not speak to anyone. As soon as the sun fades he is more cheerful. Another reason for his promotion to Liutenant was because he runs his squad like a pack, and his pack never fails.
General
Name:Urufa (Nickname: Rui)
Spirit Description: Rui-Urufa is an unrealistically tall wolf, measuring to about 5’10” vertically, and is about six feet long. Her fur is tri-colored like Seishuku’s hair, except in reverse order. The blonde covers her head, then the scarlet covering from her shoulders to her hip. Her rear is crimson, and her tail and back legs are as well. Her eyes are the strawberry blonde, and radiate with kindness.
Sealed: His Zanpakutô blade looks like a standard katana, but the blade is unique beginning at the sheath guard, which is a detailed, 3-D representation of a full moon. The cloth wrapped around the handle is a deep crimson, and the end of the handle is a detailed crescent moon. The sheath is scarlet.
Shikai
Activation Phrase:Kouro Honpou (Run Rampant)
Appearance: Rui-Urufa’s release splits into four parts, as the steel from the blade separates to envelop Seishuku’s fingers forming small daggers similar to Soifon’s Suzumebachi, but each dagger-like nail is 7 inches from the base of his finger. As the black colored claws form, the ends of the fingers meet at the wrist, where they form a full moon, and then spiral up 2-3 inches. These envelop each hand. The steel claws form onto his feet as well, allowing his physical attacks to turn into blade slashes. This is when Seishuku is at his best, and even higher level shinigami struggle with Seishuku in this form.
Abilities: With the command ‘Ma-Ji’ (Merge), he can merge the four claws into just two larger claws, or even one very large claw. Additionally, the tips of Rui-Urufa’s claws can absorb Spiritual Power by touch or attack, as well as absorbing various projectile attacks such as Cero, Red Flame Cannon, and Pale Lightning, basically any attack that does not envelop or attack physically. When these attacks are absorbed, they bolster Seishuku’s own miniscule spiritual power. However, more powerful attacks can only be partially absorbed, and the remainder of the attack will be taken by Seishuku. This power is limited in absorption of higher level techniques. Also, an attempted absorb that doesn't fully work will result in a great amount of damage to a vulnerable Seisuku. The maximum discharge is abut 50% at maximum and 5% at minimum (of the original amount). As an attack, a wolf made of Spiritual Power can be flung at an enemy with the command, ‘Raishuu’ (Attack). However, this attack is weak and can only harm normal hollow and lower class Shinigami, as well as humans, with a maximum of 25% raishi output. With the proper amount of absorbed energy though, this attack can be devastating. An added ability is the ability to summon wolves made of spiritual power. These wolves can stay as long as Seishuku wills them to, requiring no additional power to maintain. The wolves follow direct orders through Seishuku’s mind and subtle body hints, making them a valuable ally.
Bankai
Activation Phrase:It pains me to do this to you, Rui…Bankai, Mi-Hitsu Urufa Kisaki
Appearance: The ground shakes, and a giant steel gated fortress surrounds him. Seishuku’s released claws spiral up his shoulders, as he falls down to all fours. Screams can be heard from within the fortress, as fur grows all over Seishuku, and he more than doubles in size. The fortress catches fire, and two large gates blast open. A half kilometer radius is set aflame and demonic sounds and barking can be heard. A Cerberus emerges, standing at about twelve and a half feet tall, and thirteen feet long. The middle head is crimson, the left head is scarlet, and the right head is strawberry blonde. The torso is black, and the three tails match their corresponding heads in color. A flaming collar morphs into sight on his Bankai’s neck, and around his front two claws as well.
Abilities: The Bankai can NOT do damage with the initial flare of the gates opening, but it does manage to set quite a scene as well as maximizing his flame based abilities. Afterwards, he can use his large claws and powerful jaws to crush his opponents, as well as fire.blasts from each head. He as two distinct attacks, the first being ‘Furea-Enka’ or Flare Rocket. The entire Cerberus catches fire, and he rushes his opponent often burning them even while missing. This attack only goes in a straight line though, so a faster opponent may be able to dodge it. The second attack is his strongest, and requires enormous spiritual power to execute, so it is often not a viable option for Seishuku. The attack is Jigoku Seki Urufa Nida (Hell’s Gate She-Wolf’s Pack), where numerous normal sized, flaming wolves rush the enemy, followed up by Furea-Enka with all Seishuku’s got. After the use of Jigoku Seki, Seishuku has a 50% chance of dying. After the use of Furea Enka, he has a 5% chance of death, and with the use of Bankai he has a 1% chance of death, and a 99% chance of extreme exhaustion. His Bankai's full power cannot be harnished by its user, and so Seishuku prefers to remain in his Shikai form.
Flash Step
Wolf Surge: Beta Piercing Blow
Seishuku's strongest subordinate rushes the opponent, acting as a harpoon and is capable of piercing more than one enemy.
Rank: 3rd Seat
Other: This is quite simply an attack, nothing more.
Haunting Aura: Delta Wolf Pursuit
A low ranking wolf pursues the opponent, nipping at their heels. Its primary uses are decoy and tracking.
Rank: 4th Seat
Other: This amount of energy this takes from Seishuku varies upon the length of time this is used. It will last a maximum of 5 posts, but would be EXTREMELY consuming in this case.
Great Wolf Rush
With the speed of a wolf, Seishuku charges with whatever spirit power he has, inflicting small damage which throws his opponent a distance away.
Rank: 6th Seat
Other: Not particularly draining, very economical and quick.
Lunar Flow: Alpha's Howl
A loud howl can be heard, as Seishuku's spirit power flows through his whole body, making him faster and stronger. Only functional at night, with reiatsu absorbed. Lasts about 10 minutes.
Rank: 3rd Seat
Other: His most draining technique, this one's attack boost seems to balnce it out during the alotted time, but once the time is expired its cost could be fatal.
Blasting Wolf Flare
The form of a wolf rushes at Seishuku's opponent but explodes just before it reaches its target, making a great blinding light. Good for quick get-aways or surprise attacks.
Rank: 7th Seat
Wolf Step
When in Shikai release, this specialized version of Flash Step provides a greater top speed than Flash Step, but shorter range.
Rank: Lieutenant
**Note: The wolves are made purely of reiatsu, so they do cost to create. However maintaning them it has small cost, but they can only be about 30 meters from Seishuku himself, and for someone for little reiatsu it is quite a bit draining to keep them out. For the wolves to explode, it costs additional reiatsu. The maximum amount of wolves creatable is 5. The wolves will also dissappear or explode when hit. The only real power to them is their explosions, which in the end can only knock someone unconscious. They are better suited to set up an attack for Seishuku.
Other Characters:This is my character from a different RP, slightly modified.
Roleplay Sample: One head laughed sadistically at the shriek of the other man, as his lust for blood merely increased. Though the hit was a necessary one, Seishuku feared he would lose control. But still he rushed on, and felt the claws digging in to him, so deep this time the Cerberus actually felt it. Though, they still felt they were doing the most damage in the trade off. None the less, the third head was growing unruly, which only increased when the giant beast was shoved up by a powerful kick.
The left head bellowed as the beast had to turn around to stay on its feet, shaking the earth beneath it. To Seishuku's instant shock, he forcibly turned around and raised a giant paw to crush his enemy. This of course, would kill him, but the right and middle heads combined for a shunpo and shot themselves a few feet away. No! This wasn't the time for Seishuku to lose control! That cursed left head shouldn't have that much power by now! Why was it that he was losing control over his own Bankai?
C'mon! Let's getting going Seishuku! I wanna grind that piece of trash into oblivion! The demon yelled into Seishuku's ear, figuratively. No, we need the message. You can kill him later. It was a sad attempt a calming the demon down, but the Shinigami had to try. Urufa now had to leave the control of her head limp, and focus on keeping the demon at bay. No worries, babe, I'll take care of him. She assured Seishuku very softly, and now the captain needed to figure out his strategy.
If he were to throw this fella around a little bit, then maybe that ryoka could cough up that message. No Furea Enka, I don't need it. If I just...... Seishuku was abruptly interrupted. Goddamn, you don't have to be so boring all the time! I'll take care of him..... Seishuku was almost shaking in his cloak. He called out to Urufa, but to no avail. What did you do to her?! The demon cackled. I just got her out of our way buddy-boy. She held you back, now its our turn to shine.
The head on the right went completely limp, and the other two heads seemed to be in disarray. Seishuku's grip on his Bankai was slipping away quickly. You're right Capytan, we don't need Furea Enka. Its too boring. Seishuku knew what was coming next. Hahahaha......I guess you realize then. Let's do it. Now the middle head snapped at the left head, apparently trying to kill it. But it couldn't. It managed to wrap its jaws around the other, but it couldn't crush the other's neck.
Now the left head roared out a sadistic laugh, matching the insanity of the other cackle. "nOw I'lL ShOw yOu WhAt I cAn dO wItH tHiS bODy! JiGoKu SeKi UrUfA nIdA!!!!" The demon's words echoed, and he raised his head to howl. The temperature shot up 20 degrees, and the barking got louder, but the demons drowned them out. All around the ryoka, several demonic wolves spread out all around the enemy. They were taunting him, barking, with flames shooting off of them. They all looked to the Cerberus for the signal.
The Cerberus caught fire, burning with a strong intensity, and a drowning reiatsu. The left head raised itself to roar, but instead, its head hit the floor in a bloody mess. The right and middle heads panted heavily, looking at the eerily still living head. "YoU! HoW?! No, yOu bItcH!" He cursed at Urufa, angry that he couldn't pull off the devastating move. Now the Cerberus dropped down to its knees, exhausted from loss of blood. The severed head took the chance to throw itself at Seishuku's head, biting on its neck. The right head bit the severed one, in a crazed hellish scene.
The remaining connected heads roared in pain, as the Cerberus’s fire burnt it to a crisp. The Wolf Empress's pack dissolved, and the flames disappeared. The gate dissolved, taken a satanic figure with it. All that remained from the crazed frenzy was Seishuku on all fours in the blood, barely able to keep himself up. His Shikai was crushed, the remnants of the claws were small stubs, and the once mighty reiatsu dissolved into what one could swear was negative reiatsu.
Damned demon.... He cursed, as a gaping wound in Seishuku's neck-shoulder area (from the bite) poured out blood, and Seishuku coughed blood out. Finally, the proud form of the captain began to raise himself, staggering and panting heavily. His arms hung like lifeless leeks, swaying from exhaustion. His whole being was stained a deep crimson, and his hair was all the same color now. Seishuku could only imagine how satisfying this was for the ryoka. This was the only way Seishuku could defy his enemy. But he couldn't keep himself up. He dropped straight down on the floor, face first. He panted heavily, thinking of his squad, and wishing he could protect them just a second longer. He grasped on to his last seconds of life, as he waited for his enemy to come and finish him off. Here the mighty captain was, all but dead on the floor, eyes almost glazed over, breathing heavily, and choking on his own blood. This was the end for him, no matter how much he had regretted the way it was going to end.
It was his fault though. He far outmatched the beast in skill, but also out matched him in rash decisions this battle. His Shikai was better than his Bankai, and far less risk was associated with its release. Added to the difficulty of fighting with a demon that controlled 33.33% of your movements, is that the energy he absorbed from the reptile was dark and evil in nature. Since Seishuku hadn’t taken the time to convert the power into his own, he was at the mercy of the reiatsu’s nature. The demon had a like reiatsu, so he optimized its power to gain control of the Seishuku and Urufa.
Well he wouldn’t make that mistake again. Releasing his Shikai, he absorbed the flowing reiatsu of his opponent, and waited patiently for his opponent to rush at him. Sure enough, the beast dashed at him. Just before Seishuku’s enemy could reach him, Seishuku attacked with a wolf energy blast. “Raishuu!” He yelled as the beast connected, stalling him enough for Seishuku could get distance from him. Now he could kill his enemy. Because the blast required zero control, it didn’t matter what type of reiatsu it was made of. Seishuku took the time to convert the reiatsu into a more familiar one.
Now it was time. He heard the ryoka roar, and used his special technique, Lunar Flow: Alpha’s Howl. Seishuku grabbed the area of his gaping wound, and got ready to end the battle with one final rush. “Great Wolf Rush!” He yelled as he dashed toward his opponent. Soon the two running combatants met, as the lizard creature landed his claw stab directly in Seishuku’s old wound. But Seishuku landed his claw stab into the beast’s heart. As they both coughed up blood, Seishuku pulled his own claw and his opponent’s out of their respective targets.
It was finally over, he had done his job and eliminated the ryoka. After a few steps, he couldn’t move anymore. He dropped to the ground, one of his shaking hands trying to grab his shoulder. Seishuku heard the steps of sandals approaching him. They were his squad mates, along with three from Division 4. As his comrades lifted him, they left the bloody battlefield, and the corpse of the ryoka.
-(Note: I just noticed another profile for the position of Captain. I am willing to go down to Lieutenant position and will change my profile accordingly. Thank you.)-

Zanpakuto
Shinigami Techniques
Additional
