Recently I've taken to writing Haikus. So I figured i'd post what I have come up with here.
It looms ever near. The shadow looms in the mist. The misted snowfall.
Light in the darkness. The shadows bounce off dead trees. I hold the light close.
The burning passion. Blossoms deep inside the soul. Love and hate burn bright.\
Anyone is welcome to post theres here.
If anyone does not know how to write a Haiku. It is a poem in 3 lines. 5 syllables for the first line, 7 for the 2nd, and 5 again for the 3rd. A haiku typically has a seasonal reference somewhere in the poem. The examples in mine are snowfall in the first, indicating winter. Dead trees in the second, indicating the end of fall/beginning of winter. And blossoms in the third, indicating spring or summer.

nice haikus i've done a few myself but with a different style so to speak haiku can be 5,7,5 or 3,5,3 ive done a few of those and also some haikus can be of a different topic aside from the seasonal
my last english teacher gave me a few tips for writing haikus 1. make each word count/ make each word contribute to the piece in such a way that the whole thing cannot be understood if a single word is taken away 2. the third line in most haiku but not all is the twist to what was being described or discussed in teh first two.
i dont like the second rule so much but the first rule helps a lot to brush away the excess ane get to the essence since haikus are attempting to embody the essence of something with very little wording.
