Still working on this, but if you have any suggestions for how to improve on it, I'd gladly listen (Also, add what you think would work well for the General Info part and the Q&A part, as I will no doubt miss some things. I wrote up the short descriptions of the divisions on memory, so I will either fix it up later or add in the missing ones when I have time to do so.
This is a advanced to expert role-playing site and as such appropriate standards are held. This is not a place for those who are new to the English language or writing in general, we are not here to baby-sit and we want to create an environment where all rp’ers of atleast moderate or higher level can feel challenged. Profiles are at an absolute bare minimum 10 paragraphs and honestly I would not expect to be accepted with that. Posts should be at least three paragraphs in length and hopefully sufficiently more. If you hold a captain or council position you will be held to high standards and scrutiny and are expected to be active at least 2-3 times a week. That being said, lets have some fun with it people… despite the fact that we want to be a more advanced site that’s not to say we are any less fun-loving or accepting, we just want to steer clear of sub-par one-liners and godmodders. Those of you who feel in the bracket we are hoping to attract, you know who you are. If you feel intimidated by the expectations I encourage you to still apply, we aren’t in the business of outright denying people, we simply want to maintain a standard for the benefit of overall rp’ing quality.
This has become a real-life friendly site. What we mean by this is that we expect bouts of inactivity from our members, because we understand that life gets in the way. We don't want you to feel pressured to post here if you're busy or stressed. This is meant to be a fun place, not a job. Yes our board may move slower than others, but as long as those that love the site continue to return, the pace of a site should not matter. Remember that it is courteous to post about any long absences in the vacations board to notify anyone you're rping with currently, and just so we know you haven't died. But please remember that it is vital for you to be active in board-wide arcs, as more than just a few people tend to stand in line to post.
It is important you try and give credit to other peoples posts by mirroring yours to be at least around the same length. We do not allow sexual or r-rated interaction here so if you wish for your character to have those kind of relations please do it through pm’ing. Simple romanticism is completely fine but there is a line and we do not like it crossed. When posting we would also like for you to keep in mind the fact that chat-speak is off limits while rp’ing, I sincerely doubt your character would ever say “lol” to his fellow shinigami.
God-moding will not be tolerated here at Bleached Souls. For those who don’t know, god-moding includes predetermining the outcome of your characters attacks or controlling your opponent. For instance, you can say that you thrusted your sword at your opponents chest but not that you stabbed him through the heart. All of your attacks should be attempts until your opponent in his respective post determines whether or not they have hit or missed. If we find someone is god-moding there will be consequences.
You may very well find yourself in a situation where you are facing someone who is stronger then you, please act accordingly. That’s not to say you have to let your opponent wipe the floor with you, but you have to acknowledge the fact that because they are stronger the outcome of their attacks may reflect this. Some of the most fun experiences and personal plot twists can come out of harrowing and dangerous battles, even losses. But be realistic, it takes away from things when you have a vice-captain dodging every attack of an Espada while gleefully hurling innumerable attacks of his own. If we see people god-moding in this fashion they will be asked to maintain a more realistic outlook of the fight. Truth is, however badly he wants it, a mouse will probably never kill a cat. That’s not to say you can’t have some fun trying of course. And however big the difference in power, your opponent will never be allowed to kill you unless you give your permission. But be warned, there may be dire consequences in the form of injuries if you expect to take your phase 1 humanoid and battle the Primera Espada.
All narration must be done in 3rd person. That means no “I did this” but “He did this” instead. An example: Alex saw Amy’s smile wherever he went, looking happily back at him and it made his day.
Try not to ever double post, make sure if you are in a two person thread that you go in the order: you, them, you, them, and so on and so forth. If multiple people are in a thread it is up to you to discuss the posting order and follow it accordingly. Nothing is more messy and confusing then having people post all over the place with no rhyme or reason. However if not stated otherwise, you may post when you have something of value to add. The time when posting order is the most vital, is in battles.
If you are going to have a private thread with invitation only please indicate this in the title by putting (private) or (invite) after the first title. If you wish to have an open thread put (open) or none at all. If you want to have a solo thread put (solo). These tags are required so as to promote organization and to discourage confusion as to whether or not you are allowed to join a certain thread. Of course, you can also specify what kind of characters may join, though a rp in the real world only for Shinigami for example is discouraged.
You can have multiple characters here at Bleached Souls, in fact you can have as many as you want. We do however reserve the right to deny you access to multiple high ranking positions within the same faction. This is simply to give others a chance at the bigger positions as well. You will be required to list all of your characters when applying for a new one, this is to give us a chance to see how many high ranking characters you are already playing. Another reason we may have for discouraging people to play more then one high ranking official within a certain faction is because in meetings it will be difficult and unfair for a single person to control the power of two council members. However it is adviced you intend to finish a character once you post an unfinished application, as they can easily start to flood the application area with unfinished profiles.
Due to concerns of balance a character may not start with either Bankai or being of Captain level strength, unless you have been given explicit permission from Golden Kitten. We may also deem it necessary to deny someone the right to start as a Vasto Lorde, so it is suggested to ask for permission before making an application.
Unlike some sites, here your characters can be in any given amount of threads at one time. However, remember that it will be up to you to maintain a standard of realism and a somewhat steady timeline despite this. So if you wish to immerse yourself in a large number of threads, be aware that you may end up with a tricky meshing of character progression.
A basic list of each race and the official board factions they may belong to. You are allowed to create your own factions, but anything bigger than a small group must be approved by the Administration. We aim to keep this updated as factions may change, but if it appears out of date do not hesitate to tell us.
Shinigami
The Death Gods, or soul reapers of the spiritual world. These warriors are clothed in black robe-like uniforms and wield katana shaped weapons called Zanpakutou, or Soul-Slayers. A Zanpakutou is a part of a Shinigami's soul, containing a sentient spirit which is the embodiment of the zanpakutou itself. Through communing with these inner spirits a Shinigami can achieve greater heights of power and learn to amplify their abilities through their Zanpakutou in the form of Shi-Kai, and later Ban-Kai. They may also learn spiritual magic called Kido, or Demon Magic, split up into the two main categories Hadou and Bakudo, respectively meaning Destructive and Binding Arts. A Shinigami are nearly always a part of the Gotei 13 of Seireitei at some point in their lives, as that is where Shinigami are trained and initiated and while natural Shinigami may occur, it is rare. Shinigami who have abandoned the Gotei 13, by committing a serious crime or by awakening their Inner Hollow (See Sub-Race: Vizards) tend to either go Rogue, or in case of the later, join the Masked Syndicate.
Sub-Race - Vizards
The Vizard are Shinigami who have awakened their Inner Hollow, a malevolent entity which in most cases are a perversion of the Shinigami's own self. These spirits who are similar to Zanpakutou spirits in that they are a part of the Shinigami's soul and a part of their power, but they are different in that they rarely respect their host, and usually attempt to usurp control whenever possible. When this occurs a so called "Pseudo-Vizard" is created, where the Vizard is slowly covered in a Hollow mask and later carapace. If such a transformation is complete without a Vizard subduing their hollow, they are lost forever. However if a Vizard manages to subdue a Inner Hollow they gain considerable power in the form of Hollowfication, which allows the Vizard to summon just the Hollow Mask of their transformation and draw upon the Inner hollows power. When doing this a Vizard may also draw upon abilities that the Inner Hollow may know, such as Cero or Bala. In rare cases a Inner Hollow may have unique abilities of its own, but there are hard to manifest for a Vizard in control. Vizard tend to stick together in the Masked Syndicate, but there are those who prefer to be alone and thus stay as Rogues.
Hollow
Fallen souls, souls who have lost their hearts either through years of pain and anguish as a lonely spirit, being anchored to a spot for decades finally driving them mad, or simply being eaten by mindless hollow or one with the direct intention of making the unfortunate soul into one of them. There are two things which identify a hollow, two things which every hollow has. The first and most notable is the white mask that covers their entire face, sometimes more. The second is a hole which protrudes through their body, usually by the chest, signifying their lost heart, however it can be of varying sizes and be located on different parts of their body. Other than those two things there are no limits to how a hollow may look, however what is well known is that there is a hierarchy of power among hollows, which is as such: The weakest form of Hollow is simply called just that, Hollow. They are new-born hollow to several decade old spirits who have continued to consume human souls to satiate their undying hunger and to try to quench the pain of their lost heart.
The second stage of a Hollows evolution is called the Menos Grande, or Gillian, which normally form when hundreds of cannibalistic hollow, hollows who no longer can be sated by the souls of humans, band togheter and try to devour each others, eventually turning into a huge jumble of spiritual energy and forming into the massive Gillian. For most hollow this is where their evolution ends, as most are mindless Hollow, and remain so as a Gillian. For those who can wrest control from the other hollow which make up a Gillian, they can continue their evolution by continuing to consume Hollow, eventually turning into the powerful Adjuchas stage.
The Adjuchas stage are usually smaller than the Gillian, but many times more powerful and it is at this point that a Hollows natural powers re-manifest themselves as the large jumble of souls which was the Gillian have been quelled into one single dominant soul. Should an Adjuchas be capable of it, they may eventually turn into the final stage of evolution for a Hollow, the Vasto Lorde. These Hollow who tend to be about human in both form and size are the most powerful of hollow, however to truly master their abilities requires even more time, but when they do they are a dangerous match for any captain. Hollow tend to either work alone or in small pocket groups, however there is one larger form of syndicate called the Maestro led by Reina Nightshade, but little is known about them. Many Hollow seek out the Arrancar(See Sub-Race - Arrancar) of Las Noches, the Shinigamified Hollow who are the self-imposed rulers of Hueco Mundo.
Sub-Race - Arrancar
Hollow who have obtained Shinigami Powers, is the most general description of an Arrancar you will come around. However this is not quite true. Though an Arrancar gain a Zanpakutou of their own, they function completely differently from their Shinigami counter-parts. Rather than gaining a inner spirit for their Zanpakutou, a Arrancar seals the core of their power into the shape of the Zanpakutou, which may take the shape of any weapon or object within reasonable limits. For a Hollow to ascend into an Arrancar, they need to quite simply pull of their Hollow Mask. However as simple as this may sound, most hollow who do it recklessly die at the spot, as only powerful or mentally prepared Hollow have the chance of becoming a true arrancar. Many hollow have become Arrancar by accident, by certain events unfolding around or within them, but these situations are rare and wheter they are the initial triggers themselves at all is impossible to say. Most Arrancar swear their alligience to Las Noches, the seat of Arrancar power, but some may chose to wander alone as Rogues.
Humans
Though humans in general are un-knowing of the Spiritual World, some have either a spiritual awareness which has grown due to close interaction with spirits, or just a particularily powerful soul, allowing them to see and interact with spirits. The kind of spirits a human sees most of the time is the Plus, human souls who have yet to pass on, but they are also prone to beeing saught out by Hollow, who are attracted to their higher than average spiritual powers. However such humans are rarely powerless, infact very few normal hollow can defeat a spiritually aware human who have learned to control their inner powers, which manifest in nearly any way or form. Humans tend to either join the Brotherhood, to help fight Hollow and protect both humans and souls. However many humans are also drawn into the clutches of the New World Order, a organization hell-bent on the destruction of all spirits, as they believe them to be a threat to humanity. The choice of ones path often affect the way their powers will develop. Some Humans follow a certain code or have a certain bloodline which determines their powers as well, such as the Quincy(See Sub-Race - Quincy), Bount(See Sub-Race - Bount) and Mod-Souls(See Sub-Race - Mod-Souls).
Sub-Race - Quincy
A group of spiritually aware humans with a set form of training which determines the way their powers are shaped, but also gives them access to abilities few humans or even spirits possess. These warriors tend to specialize in the use of a spiritual bow, but have also constructed several items and incantations to aid them. Quincy most often join the Brotherhood, as they share similiar philosophies, however it is just as regular for one to go solo. Few willingly sign up with the New World Order.
Sub-Race - Bount
Often seen as monsters because of their need to feed on the spiritual energies of dead souls, Bount are not that much different from humans however. The fundamental difference between a human and a Bount is their aging. As long as a bount keeps a steady diet of dead souls their aging stops, allowing them to theoretically live forever. Bount souls are not directly human souls however, either through accident or through an occurance in Soul Society's past (information on this subject is scarce) Bount souls, which are based on a Shinigami's awakened soul flooded into the stream of souls to be reborn, thus allowing the Bount to rise. The similiarity between a Bount and the Shinigami is one, both have a 'spirit' as the center of their power, however rather than the Shinigami who's is in the shape of a sword, with the spirit being within them, a Bount summons the spirit into the real world and can then command it. In general, Bount tend to prefer being loners, but some sign up with the Brotherhood. Bount are in general hunted by the New World Order due to their close connection with Shinigami souls.
Sub-Race - Mod-Souls
Artificially created souls infused in either a recently dead human or a faux body called a gigai. These artificial souls are usually infused with special powers, be they physical or not. Just like with humans a Mod-Soul tends to have large varieties in terms of powers, but most tend to be either physical or mental, few have kinds that summon something. Mod-Souls tend to join the Brotherhood, or work alone or in small groups, however they are hunted by the New World Order who see them as monsters.
Many organizations and groups make up the Bleached Souls canon, some from the official manga, others custom made or edited heavily to suit our own rendition of the Bleach universe. You will find a brief description of them here.
Gotei 13 - The Thirteen Protection Squads
Named after the thirteen different divisions that make up the organization of the Shinigami, the seat of power in Seireitei and Soul Society. Each of these divisions are lead by a Captain class Shinigami, some of the most powerful individuals to walk the world, and often some of the oldest. Each division has 10 Seats, representing the leadership rankings of that division with the first seat being the captain, and the second seat being his second in command, the Vice-Captain. Though positions under tenth are still given a number, it carries no value among the different divisions and are usually only refered to as "unseated" members. Each division has their own specialization, and a short summary of who they are, and what they do, will follow.
[Note: The captain of each squad will have to write up a summary of their division, it will then be added here. For now, a basic description will be added.]
Division 1
The first division are the primary leadership of Seireitei, and thus they tend to oversee the other divisions.
Division 2
The Special Forces of the Gotei 13, spies and assassins of the Shinigami.
Division 3
Division 4
The Medics and Healers of the Gotei 13, in times of peace often tasked with menial labor.
Division 5
Division 6
Tracking and Persuit, those who track down and often than not, engage escaped convicts or traitors of Soul Society.
Division 7
The Kido Division, known for their expertice in the Kido arts.
Division 8
Division 9
Interogation and Execution, a division disliked by many due to it's psychotic inhabitants.
Division 10
The Outer Defense, the division that has the primary task of protecting the spiritual balance.
Division 11
Said to be the strongest fighters within the Gotei 13, a division often called upon at times of war or large scale conflicts.
Division 12
Science and Research, a division of brilliant minds and scientists.
Division 13
Las Noches - The Fortress of the Arrancar
Though it has yet to be confirmed many believe that the massive dome that make up Las Noches outer wall and ceiling is as big as Seireitei, or perhaps even Rukongai itself. This beyond huge dome fortress is the home of the Arrancar of Hueco Mundo, the highest known power among the Hollow. Though this fact may have been disputable some time ago, with the arrival and take-over by a powerful group calling themselves the Horror Vacui, only a fool would challenge the power house that is Las Noches.
The organization of the Arrancar are fairly straight-forward. The group has ten leaders, or perhaps sub-leaders now with the arrival of the Horror Vacui, called the Espada. They are ranked from 1 to 10, with their number signifying their strength compared to other arrancar. Each Espada may have their own personal servants, called Fracion, and though these arrancar or hollow may not be of significant strength, this is unusual as few Espada bother with weaklings. Former Espada, those who have been replaced by stronger arrancar are given an additional number, ranking from 101 to 110 and are called Privaron Espada, in other words, Fallen Espada. Though still greatly respected, and rightly so by most of the inhabitants of Las Noches it is still a great shame to be demoted to this position.
Under these leaders stand the primary fighting force of the Arrancar, the Numéros. An average Numéros is far more powerful than an average Shinigami, however they are also far outnumbered. Numéros tend to come in a number between 11 to 99 depending on their strength. Though not truly a part of the official hierarchy of the Arrancar, the group that is by far the most numerous is the Exequias, the Arrancar's version of the Shinigami's Special Forces. These weaker, in general, Arrancar all have identical masks and few have a Ressurection they can release. This fact comes from how most Exequias are manufactured rather than born naturally like other Arrancar, as weak hollow are taken and through a special method, transformed into loyal soldiers of the Exequias Captain.
The Brotherhood - An Alliance of "lesser races"
There are three primary spirit-aware organizations within the human world, of which the second one to officially form was the Brotherhood. This organization's purpose is not that of conquest or for the sake of universal balance, but rather was made with the common man in mind. The Brotherhood exists to defend innocents from any that might try to harm them, as well as to harbor shelter for both human and non-humans who wish to help in their cause. The Brotherhood, like it's namesake, has little in the form of a leadership structure only really incorporating a few elected council-members as the top of command. However with the recent discord in the spiritual world it is possible their leadership structure and organization as a whole might need to change. Currently the Brotherhood is shelter for spiritually aware humans, Quincy, Bount and even Mod-Souls.
The Masked Syndicate - The Outcasts
Though not as sinister as their name might suggest, the Vizard of the Masked Syndicate all carry the burden of being outcasts from Soul Society and the Gotei 13. Similar to the Brotherhood, the Masked Syndicate functions as a shelter for their own kind more than as a organization bent on world domination, and just like the Brotherhood whom they preceded, the Masked Syndicate has only a basic leadership structure made up of the oldest and most powerful of it's members known as the Council of Seven. Though few in number compared to their Shinigami brethren one would be a fool to discard them as a minor player within the power balance of the spiritual world.
The New World Order - Protectors of Humanity, or Harbingers of Destruction?
The third organization to form in the human world, and the only one that is not out to help spirits of any form, but rather destroy them. The NWO believe that spirits are sinister demons (not in the literal sense) out to destroy humanity, not the souls of dead humans. And because of this they view themselves as humanities only defense against these monstrosities. Because their mission is entirely opposite of each others, and they harbor "dangerous individuals" within their ranks the NWO sees the Brotherhood as an enemy to be dealt with in the future, but has left them alone for the time being as they have yet to interupt any of their operations. However this is most likely due to the fact that the NWO is very good at keeping it's activities a secret, and even now Soul Society does not know that there is a secret organization working against it.
Unlike most spiritually aware organizations, the NWO is made up almost entirely of powerless humans. However while this would make them literally worthless under normal circumstances the NWO has developed spiritually empowered weapons and armor that let even their weakest members fight Hollow, however even the strongest of them cannot fight captain class spirits as of yet, but their technology is constantly evolving and it is only a matter of time until they become a threat to Soul Society itself.
The New World Order has a very militaristic command structure with the most important person being the President, Richard Mallory. Under him stands five Commanders who command different aspects of the organization. Under these individuals stand the Special Operatives, agents of the NWO who are either specialized in combat or stealth and are given access to high-end technology almost on par with that of the Commanders themselves. Under the Special Operatives stand the ELITE squads, groups of soldiers who distinguish themselves from the masses either through their deeds or by unlocking their reiatsu or power potential. While they do not sport as impressive equipment as the Special Operatives, the ELITEs are still a force to be reckoned with as they are used to accomplish key objectives in NWO operations. Lowest in the hierarchy of the NWO stands the Privates, a collection of marines who, while highly trained is only given the most basic of spirit-tech. While a Private is very easy for a spirit to kill, their team-oriented fighting styles make them a very dangerous match for any normal Hollow or low-ranking Shinigami, and during large operations it is not unlikely to see three or more squads working together for one objective, backed by a Special Operative or ELITE squad.
As many are aware a persons reiatsu mass directly influence the strength of their bodies in a passive sense. However there is a great deal of confusion about just how this works and how it affects a person in a battle. Just how is that person not capable of easily wielding his giant axe when he can cleave buildings appart? The reason is really quite simple. The amount of reiatsu coursing through ones body can only amplify ones physical attributes so much, however focused to the point of an attack and it amplifies the power massively. Thus a person with massive physical strength and low reiatsu could fight a person with low physical strength and massive reiatsu, however the amplification is more along the lines of (Strength x Reiatsu) rather than (Strength + Reiatsu), thus having a low of either turns up badly. Note that any form of energy, or simply velocity, may replace reiatsu or strength as a damage factor.
Though sources vary it is now clear we must set standardized limitations on the physic defying capabilities of spirits. Most importantly, where can a spirit "fly" or "float"? The answer is the real world only. However some seem to believe that because they can "float" in this realm, they can alltoghether prevent being smashed around, this is not the case. For if one does not have control over their flight they can not completely prevent it either. Which brings us to another interesting point: Just because objects in the real world, or at other locations for that matter, are not made of sharp reiatsu blades does not mean it will not hurt to get knocked into them (See: Reiatsu and You!), though if what sent you into the object didn't kill you, it is highly unlikely the object will.
Few will not have the ambition to improve upon their abilities, however it is important to note that no improvements can be done without the approval of the Administration. Should you wish to improve your character it is adviced you post a thread stating so in the training section, and what you wish to improve on your character along, along with what threads you use for the purpouse of "training". When we have time we will look over this and judge whether you are worthy of it or not. Take note that the bigger the request the more effort and activity is required, and proper training sequence certainly improves your chances for bigger things like bankai.

Activity
This has become a real-life friendly site. What we mean by this is that we expect bouts of inactivity from our members, because we understand that life gets in the way. We don't want you to feel pressured to post here if you're busy or stressed. This is meant to be a fun place, not a job. - Regarding High Positions: To be fair to other members, we DO hold higher standards for members who hold Captain, Council, or Espada positions. If you disappear/ don't post for a month, we reserve the right to strip you of your position.
Posting
It is important you try and give credit to other peoples posts by mirroring yours to be at least around the same length. In Character Rules
No God-moding
God-moding will not be tolerated here at Bleached Souls. For those who don’t know, god-moding includes predetermining the outcome of your characters attacks or controlling your opponent. Acknowledging Discrepancy
You may very well find yourself in a situation where you are facing someone who is stronger then you, please act accordingly. That’s not to say you have to let your opponent wipe the floor with you, but you have to acknowledge the fact that because they are stronger the outcome of their attacks may reflect this. Narration
All narration must be done in 3rd person. That means no “I did this” but “He did this” instead. An example: Alex saw Amy’s smile wherever he went, looking happily back at him and it made his day.
Posting Order
Try not to ever double post, make sure if you are in a two person thread that you go in the order: you, them, you, them, and so on and so forth. If multiple people are in a thread it is up to you to discuss the posting order and follow it accordingly. - If a member has not posted in two days, his/her turn may be skipped to keep things moving
Thread Titles
If you are going to have a private thread with invitation only please indicate this in the title by putting (private) or (invite) after the first title. If you wish to have an open thread put (open) or none at all. If you want to have a solo thread put (solo). These tags are required so as to promote organization and to discourage confusion as to whether or not you are allowed to join a certain thread. Of course, you can also specify what kind of characters may join, though a rp in the real world only for Shinigami for example is discouraged.
Multiple Characters
You can have multiple characters here at Bleached Souls, in fact you can have as many as you want. Rogues/Non-Faction Characters
Due to concerns of balance a character may not start with either Bankai or being of Captain level strength, unless you have been given explicit permission from Golden Kitten. We may also deem it necessary to deny someone the right to start as a Vasto Lorde, so it is suggested to ask for permission before making an application.
Multiple Places
Unlike some sites, here your characters can be in any given amount of threads at one time. However, remember that it will be up to you to maintain a standard of realism and a somewhat steady timeline despite this. So if you wish to immerse yourself in a large number of threads, be aware that you may end up with a tricky meshing of character progression.
Races and Factions
A basic list of each race and the official board factions they may belong to. You are allowed to create your own factions, but anything bigger than a small group must be approved by the Administration. We aim to keep this updated as factions may change, but if it appears out of date do not hesitate to tell us.
Races
Factions
Setting, Mechanics, and General Info
The Setting
Bleached Souls world is one heavily based on the Manga and Anime Bleach, however we do not take every thing from the canon and incorporate it here the moment it is revealed, but rather taken into consideration for the future. If something is not mentioned in the template for your chosen race, then it is unlikely it is added. However it does no harm to ask just to be sure. [unfinished]

Reiatsu and You!
Physics in a Bleached world
Though sources vary it is now clear we must set standardized limitations on the physic defying capabilities of spirits.
A short bit on Improvement
Few will not have the ambition to improve upon their abilities, however it is important to note that no improvements can be done without the approval of the Administration. Should you wish to improve your character it is adviced you post a thread stating so in the training section, and what you wish to improve on your character along, along with what threads you use for the purpouse of "training". When we have time we will look over this and judge whether you are worthy of it or not. Take note that the bigger the request the more effort and activity is required, and proper training sequence certainly improves your chances for bigger things like bankai.
