Oketsu smiled as his blast sent cracks splintering through the Gillian’s mask. It hadn’t finished the beast off, but it had certainly dealt more than enough damage to bring the hollow to the brink of destruction. Twisting his blade in the spot and swinging around to the other side, Oketsu sensed another building energy, and quickly fired off another Holy Light Break before jumping back and aiming to fall off the hollow’s mask as five smaller ceros flew from the hollow and shot towards him.
As Oketsu disappeared over the edge of the hollows face, he pushed reiatsu into his legs and kicked off its head, sending himself backwards at top speed. He wasn’t sure if it was enough to get him far away enough from the ceros to mount a defensive manoeuvre, or even if they continued to follow him after his last attack on the Gillian, but either way, Oketsu was beginning to get short of breath, he had been using Genesis too much, and was starting to feel the effects of overusing his abilities. ”There’d better not be any more big bads after you boy, this is all getting very old, very fast.” If the ceros had stopped, he would rest for a moment, if the continued on, he would do his best to avoid them, but either way, he was certain that hollow was done for this time.

Both parties attacked at the same time, luckily for him Oketsu had a greater range of maneuverability than his foe. Whereas he was capable of dodging the wall of cero's sent in his direction there was nothing the Gillian could do to avoid his own blow. As the area exploded with white energy the grouping of cero made their escape into the sky, the random pattern by which they had be released and the split-second prior assault by Oketsu meant most went flying past him in a nearly circular pattern, they were still close and perhaps overwhelming to the senses but assuming he didn't purposefully stand in ones way they would do no physical damage. One however by sheer chance bore down on him, thankfully due to the speed with which they had been released the single projectiles power was significantly less than a charged blast and even a direct hit would not be fatal. Regardless it hardly bespoke of intelligence or tactical capability to let oneself be struck, but at the same time with the other cero's flying wildly around him going straight through might have been Oketsu's only option unless he had some serious acrobatic ability he had yet to show.
When he finally landed a small ways from the fallen foe the air was finally still, the reverberations of spirit energy calming and all that was left were the dieing moans of the large beast. Then suddenly just as the debris from his own attack was starting to clear a massive black hand came flying in an overhanded sweep toward the Vizard and the large upper portion of the Gillian followed suit. However as it came down a meter short of where Oketsu had been standing it became clear it had been a last ditch effort as the hollow did not move once it slammed into the ground once more and in fact the drop shattered it's already broken mask into more pieces which fell to the dirt below. White energy poured from the cracks in the mask while disembodied cries were released from within, yet even as the energy in it faded away this did not stop it's massive red eyes from being wholly focused on Oketsu, eternally hungry.
At this point Akabane appeared from the side of the Gillian and walked to stand next to Oketsu, nodding in a human way that suggested approval with a wry half-cocked eye. He turned to look at the Gillian once more which chose just that moment to begin spasming in death-throws, it's body twitching and the energy being lost doubling in blood on the ground and white energy released into the air. And then it was over, all it's energy expended the red-eyes still focused on Oketsu lost their sheen and finally faded out leaving dark empty spots where they had been. Then finally the massive creatures body began to simply evaporate into thin air, breaking up into millions of spirit shards. Akabane spoke to Oketsu and told him they should go back to Victoria as he turned and walked off, leaving the battleground they had just forged.
They had hardly seen the beast beaten when Victoria called out to them, “Please get over here.”, she didn't seem worried but something had obviously happened.
Then as they pulled away from where their large foe had saturated the air the issue became increasingly prevalent. It had at first seemed like Victoria's words had rung true and the hollows had instinctively pulled back once they realized the danger in coming here and indeed it seemed true for the smaller hollows, but now something different was coming, something far more dangerous. It had been difficult to feel at first being in such close proximity to the Gillian and unlike the other hollows this was not drowning the air in spirit particles, instead a large evening orange portal had opened some two dozen meters from where she stood. Though the energy was not filling the air, instead shooting straight out from the portal there could be no doubt that what was behind it and was likely coming through had enormous spiritual energy. Whether it was one individual or multiple standing before the portal would have been like standing in front of a mack truck for weaker individuals as there was easily twenty times the energy the Gillian had, had flowing from it.
Victoria was bearing her trademark serious face and looked to Oketsu, “Are you good for another round? I'll handle this, but if there are multiple individuals I may need you on one or two of them with Akabane.” She looked at him for a few seconds before looking away to the portal, clearly she didn't feel the need to receive assurance from Akabane.
And almost as soon as she had finished talking that was when they arrived, three figures striding forth from the strange orange portal and instantly the Gillian fight was forgotten, nobody in Tokyo with the least amount of spirit energy could not be aware of their arrival. They were hollows but they were not your basic variety nor were they Gillian, two of them were smaller than that type but no less imposing with fierce countenances and still amazingly large size compared to a human, the third was far smaller with the stature of a human but certainly not the appearance. They were in no particular order a bipedal mix between an ape and a dragon, a massive armadillo with enough organic drills to make any industrial center jealous and the smallest, an obviously feminine anthromorphic snake with wings and a strange 'V'-shaped head and body armor.
The mid-sized warrior dragon who seemed to at first glance have the most strength stepped forward first and his eyes immediately found Victoria and the others, though there were no others to notice anyhow, “We wondered who was at hand here.” the creature spoke in a loud booming but obviously intelligent and controlled voice.
Victoria looked up at him, “You are from the Titian Bastion?”
The three of them seemed taken aback by this and the large one spoke, “Yes...I'm surprised a human knew that, perhaps we need to take more precautions to keep our nature secret. But yes, I am Horus of the Titian Bastion.”
“You shouldn't worry to much, few have the means I do of locating information. But it's a shame, I knew Lara when she was in charge...” The tone in Victoria's voice suggested she was up to something, though only someone familiar with her mannerisms would have noticed the uncharacteristic vocalization.
Horus gripped his head and the two others, for what facial features they had, seemed confused, “What...what are you talking about, who?” He seemed genuinely curious as if something very strange was going on in his head but then his demeanor changed as if controlled by an outside force and he spoke in a firm voice, “No. That doesn't matter, you have been eliminating those with the potential to join our ranks. You may not be attacking the Titian Bastion directly but we cannot allow this activity to continue, stand down or fight now.” He finished, displaying a level of emotional control and tactical prowess far beyond that of your average hollow, even for an Adjuchas or Vasto Lorde.
Victoria shrugged, “What a shame, playing to the tune of that fool the General.”
And then it was on, it was like she had known the exact switch to flip because the entire face-off changed when that was said. All three of the hollows went on the defensive but in particular the small ones power signature spiked and in a moments time she had cleared the distance between the two parties, “DON'T YOU DARE INSULT THE GENERAL!!!” she screamed, her wings carrying her straight at Victoria with amazing speed and a impossibly powerful amount of energy building in her palm. And yet, what happened next was hard to ascertain, one moment she was about to unleash an amazing amount of energy the next Victoria's arm was extended and the feminine hollow was gone. On second glance she wasn't gone...well, not from this dimension anyway, she had however been sent flying a hundred or more meters down the length of the park from what one could now see had been a vicious backhand on Victoria's part.
In the following moments a sort of shocked silence and stillness pervaded the area as that clearly wasn't the result these individuals were used to. However Horus recovered quickly and reached to his back where he removed a giant bone, it seemed to have come from some kind of hollow but it had long since been fashioned into a blade. He reared his heavy musculature back and brought the blade down at the woman with enough force to simply bludgeon most people into nonexistence and tear great swaths of ground apart, however it simply stopped. It didn't cause an explosion, nor did it cleave into the ground. Victoria stood beneath it with her arm extended in an open palm, stopping the blade that was a hundred times her size just by being in its way. Then after a moments pause she grasped the blade with that palm and pulled firmly, Horus could do nothing as the blade was removed from his hand and then Victoria built a layer of energy in her opposite palm. She brought it across and slammed it into the blade and it instantly shattered down its entire length as if it was made of glass.
Horus backed up in surprise, obviously trying to reevaluate while the other armadillo like hollow kept looking to him as if it was expecting orders, unsure of how to proceed. In that time Victoria looked to Oketsu and Akabane, they could now see her face was set in an absolute neutral glare and her eyes were glowing once more with the violet energy that Oketsu had seen the first day they had met, this time though there was intent to fight behind them as well. She pointed into the distance where the little hollow was re-righting itself before it got back into the air on it's wings and came flying toward them.
“That one, deal with it if you can...if not just keep it busy until I'm done here.”
She then started walking in a slow but concentrated waltz toward the two larger hollow.
Akabane looked to Oketsu, “Try and act as a distraction best you can here. I'll look to finishing it off.” he nodded and then once more was aflame with red energy and charging toward the also charging female hollow that was now building yellow energy around it's wrist in what had to be gun like weapons.

OOC: Testing a slightly different way of writing, hope you don't mind how shitty it is xD --- -=//Personal Log of CPL. Chester "Chet" Murlowe\\=-
[17.197.9] It's been four days since I was transferred to the Fifth Fire-Division of Alpha-Beta, and I was amazed how close-knit of a group they seem to be. This causes some problems however as they are not very open to newcomers such as me and throughout our training exercises these last few days I've done my best to become one of them, but to no avail... Seems like they won't respect me unless I prove myself in a real fight, and while I'm ready to do my best for the division I hope to God they won't just abandon me if it ever comes to that... [17.198.4] Though most NWO operatives keep to their own squads and rarely speak with other divisions there's a lot of rumours flying around regarding exactly who the leader of this organization is, and though I hate to admit it I'm really curious myself. One would have to wonder why the leader would need to hide his face the way 'he' does, but I suppose it would be a bad thing if he was exposed to our enemies... For whatever reason anyone would do something stupid as that. I mean we're fighting the good fight here, an invisible war to save humanity from the influence of those demonic spirits... And the pay is good. Still I'm only human and curiosity is a big flaw of mine, so I've been compiling a list of the most likely rumours and ideas that I've heard of, though one wouldn't believe the crazy ideas some people seem to have... Like that the President is an Alien protecting our planet from the aliens that destroyed his... "Never heard that before". The most obvious candidate would have to be Richard Mallory, CO of Mallory Arms. Corporation and the NWO's main source of monetary income. A lot of people claim this to be too obvious however, and that Mallory is simply a puppet for the President, or that the President doesn't even exist and that Commander Derrick is the actual leader. Though more than once when a large scale operation has been issued there have been this person in what has always seemed the latest NWO-tech that has briefed the squad leaders, though no one has seen his face. The ones claiming the President doesn't exist says this is just a Special Operative who's there to inspire us into fighting harder, knowing that the President is with us... I'm not sure what I believe, however most in Alpha-Beta seem to think that Mallory is at least in close connection with the true leadership of the NWO, so I've been agreeing with them whenever this subject is brought up, hopefully we'll get a mission soon where I can actually prove my worth. [17.199.2] This is amazing! The entire Alpha-Beta Division and a dozen ELITE squads have been called on for one massive operation, and I get to be part of it! This is the chance I've been waiting for! I'll be able to prove I'm not just some nobody but a real soldier like the rest of Alpha-Beta! Wow I'm barely able to contain my excitement, sure it's scary as well I mean these operations aren't called for your average hollow hunt, but so far none of these large scale operations have been reported to have failed and we've always been able to keep losses to a minimum. Don't think I've ever seen a military organization this organized and disciplined before, the only unreliable element is that... Thing... That the Leadership calls Y-1, from what I hear it's some kind of super-soldier project gone awry, though I've avoided probing deeper in this issue, simply because I don't know if I WANT to know... Look at me rambling on about something completely unrelated, geez... Still I'm glad to be a part of this operation, finally feels like I'm a real member of the NWO and I hope that the others in Alpha-Beta will accept me after we're done with this. [17.199.3] On the transport to the OZ * now, we just left the Briefing and... Wow... I've got such a mix of awe, amazement and anger in me that I'm completely speechless... On one hand it seems this gang of humans and freaks of nature called the "Brotherhood" is doing some kind of experiment where they are bringing hollow over to the park in Karakura, could they have been related to the incident in Karakura a while back? Doesn't really matter, we'll kill them all for interfering with our mission! But god damn, I had heard the supposed President had a presence, talk about an understatement! The moment he entered the room clad in his black armor it felt like everything just stopped and everyone fell silent and turned toward him as he walked through the room with steps that spoke of control, determination. He seemed to be calm, but at the same time completely aware of his surroundings even in the armor which was clearly of the Mk2 class but with some modifications I've never seen before. That wasn't all however, no once he had reached the end of the large briefing room, standing before the massive screen that was used to show data for upcoming operations he began to speak, and despite his voice being distorted slightly by the helmet he wore it was as if his presence had just grown tremendously. Almost like if he was towering over me... I have heard that reiatsu can have that effect, but that is impossible here, our armor suits shield us from outside reiatsu influences, and so also prevents ours from leaking out. No, what he had was a commanding presence that was beyond any human understanding... And it was amazing. This man is no doubt the leader of the New World Order, I thought when I watched and listened as he gave us our orders. Truly, even if our mission was not as righteous as it is, I would follow this man to the death and beyond. *Operation Zone--- Dozens of pitch black, near soundless transportation helicopters flew through the skies of Tokyo, each one shrouded in a very faint layer of reiatsu that cloaked them from ordinary human eyes. They had a very sleek form, looking like larger, mostly longer modern attack choppers, however they bore no insignia and inside each one of them was an entire squad of ten or more NWO Grunts or ELITEs. There was only a single one that stood out from the rest, one that looked slightly larger but far more armored and armed than the rest was at the head of the twenty or so choppers. It was the HALO Storms chopper and currently also the transport of Richard Mallory, known by most as the President or the Boss, or to those whom had been around since the beginning of the organization, Hunter. The moment they began to approach the Karakura Town area, a silent order was sent out through the choppers and suddenly they vanished from sight even to those capable of seeing spirits. The only sign that they had ever been there was a slight vibrating blur, one thing that they did give off now however was a low spiritual signature, hard to track but not impossible to sense. "Stealth Field is active, prepare for drop."

Game set and...oh you cheating bastard...[/i] Oketsu had little time celebrate the defeat of the Gillian, the wall of ceros it had fired curved into the air and spiralled towards him, though with the loss of control there was no chance of them hitting intentionally. Oketsu simply fell backwards, allowing the ceros to blaze past him, all but one that was. Oketsu almost didn’t notice it until it was too late as well, the ceros around him were messing with his senses, and there was no way he could be expected to be omnipotent in this particular situation. However, as the cero flew towards him Oketsu thrust Genesis up towards it, the two impacting and causing the cero to explode, as they tend to do. That, my friend, was a stupid idea.[/i]
The resulting wave from the cero, while not enough to damage him, was more than enough to throw him off balance and directly into the ground, with Genesis landing blade first inches from his head. ”Well, that was dangerously close, next time, I vote on a battle plan that doesn’t involve shoot the vaizard, for once…” The cero which had streaked by him earlier had made quite a nice little crater for him to land in though, and as Oketsu grabbed Genesis and climbed from the crater, and looked up to see a looming hand of darkness quickly flying towards him. Oketsu noticed it too late, and had no time to react, and by pure luck he was standing but a metre from where the Gillian’s attack ended. Wiping dust and sweat from his brow, Oketsu looked forth as the screams and moans of the dying Gillian slowly ceased. Its eyes, however, never strayed from staring at Oketsu, which was mildly off-putting to say the least, even in death its eyes still could not hide its insatiable hunger.
The cat slowly strolled out from the side of the hollow, approaching Oketsu and nodding in a way that Oketsu felt implied an acceptance, which was the goal he was aiming for after all. ”Cheers, wouldn’t have lasted long without your help.” Oketsu and Akabane both turned to watch the Gillian in its final moments, it death-spasms taking over as it writhed in anguish, white energy leaking from its body as its numerous souls screamed once more for life, and then it was gone. In an instant, it had shattered into countless shards, in an almost beautiful way. However, as Akabane and Victoria soon pointed out, there were other goings on and they were needed elsewhere. Oketsu followed Akabane in a quick paced jog towards Victoria, arriving to see a large blazing orange portal having torn through the fabric of reality. ”That’s not a good sign, is it…” Even from where he was standing, Oketsu could feel the immense power leaking from the portal, and was not looking forward to dealing with whatever was coming out the other side.
Victoria turned to Oketsu, an intense serious look on her face that Oketsu was beginning to become increasingly used to. ” Are you good for another round? I'll handle this, but if there are multiple individuals I may need you on one or two of them with Akabane.” Oketsu laughed and stuck Genesis into the ground beside him, running his hand through his hair and dusting himself off further. ”Oh heck no, but thanks for giving me the illusion of choice Vic.” Oketsu laughed to himself and drew Genesis again, pointing it towards the portal. ”So, we know what’s coming through?”
Oketsu asked not a moment too soon, three figures stepped forth from the portal, and unmistakable air of importance and, more importantly, power surround them. They were obviously hollows, their excessive evolutionary traits and animalistic qualities qualified that without question, but Oketsu wondered what such powerful hollows were doing here. One which appeared like a draconic ape spoke first, a chilling malice lacing his words. ”We wondered who was at hand here.”[/b] Beside Oketsu, Victoria looked across at the speaking hollow, and did so seemingly devoid of emotion from where Oketsu was looking. “You are from the Titian Bastion?” Oketsu had officially lost it. He must have hit is head, or maybe he died, but these hollows were most certainly odd looking even by hollow standards, and what the hell a Titan Bastion was Oketsu didn’t know and frankly he didn’t care, and it took all of his will power to stifle a laugh as the hollows were taken aback by Victoria’s words.
Yes...I'm surprised a human knew that, perhaps we need to take more precautions to keep our nature secret. But yes, I am Horus of the Titian Bastion.” At this, Oketsu squatted on the ground and discretely placed his hand over his mouth to further stifle any rouge sounds leaping from his vocal chords, but he knew full well he wouldn’t last much longer. “You shouldn't worry to much, few have the means I do of locating information. But it's a shame, I knew Lara when she was in charge...” Suddenly, everything seemed different, names, places, people, these weren’t the usual things Oketsu remembered from head injuries in the past, and a sudden wave of seriousness washed over him, causing Oketsu to return to a standing position and listen intently to the goings on of the conversation.
‘Horus’ then burst into a quasi-emotional speech about the loss of his brothers in arms, or something similar, while Oketsu was listening intently, none of the content was being absorbed, just words and pretty sounds, he did pick up one word from Victoria however, “General”, and the reaction it extracted were interesting to say the least. Quite what happened passed Oketsu’s mind, but as far as he could tell, the snake-esque hollow leapt at Victoria, who proceeded to backhand her into the next world. Oketsu let out a single loud “Ha!” before regain his composure and sighed as the entire area descended into silence. Horus got mighty pissed at this, and drawing a massive sharpened bone Oketsu slightly stepped away from Victoria as he bore his weapon down upon her, and stopped it with her bare hands. Was that…she couldn’t be… Be what? I’d damn sure like to know what the hell she is! Well put up and shut up, she’ll tell you eventually. You don’t even try to be helpful anymore…[/i]
As Oketsu’s short internal dialogue, which would be noticeable by those surrounding him from the sudden but faint spike in hollow reiatsu, Oketsu realised that Victoria had not only disarmed Horus, but shattered his weapon. Oketsu gave a short round of applause by clapping his hand against Geneis’ shaft, before looking over to the strange female snake hollow as Victoria gestured towards it. ”I suppose that one is mine then…” Oketsu ran past Horus, flexing the outlines of his own wings and beating them to mimic the hollows own movements, pushing reiatsu into the ground to speed up his movements. As he ran towards her, she started building up yellow energy in a gun barrel like addition to her arm. Oketsu would continue moving full speed towards her, sticking Genesis into the ground and using the momentum to catapult himself into the air over the hollow’s attack, where he would aim to fire a Holy Light Slash at her in a [hopefully] deadly counterattack aimed at her chest.

Oketsu had proved effective against his other opponents even with a lack of true tactics. However in this case he was in trouble, he underestimated his opponent both tactically and skillfully…and he was about to pay for it. As soon as he hopped into the air and released his strike the female hollow extended her arm and fired a medium-sized yellow cero without losing a bit of her forward momentum in the process. When the two energy strikes connected they equaled each other out almost exactly though as it turned out hers was slightly superior and Oketsu was showered in hot sparks though no substantial energy made it through. However that was soon to change as there was only a moment before she came hurtling through the cloud at an insane speed and had her hand in Oketsu’s gut the next.
The blow was not as hard as a purely physical based hollows might have been but it wasn’t comfortable either, easily taking his breath away for just long enough to act on. She spun in the air and slammed her tail into his shoulder sending him toward the ground, kicking up a large dust cloud in the process. Not about to let her foe off that easy though she took to hovering above the crater and aimed both her arms downward as energy built in both. Then she showed what her true strength was, the cero, and began firing. She released dozens of yellow cero in the time it took your average hollow to release one or two and yet each was just as strong as there regular timed counterpart. One could hear her cackling madly as she deepened the crater with every blow until she had expended easily thirty cero on to the target.
When she was finally finished she moved lower in an attempt to admire her work. Though her aggression had seemed aimed solely at Victoria it now became clear that she was highly instinctive and easy to distract, one fight was as good as another and she clearly took some amount of joy out of it. She swung her tail after building some reishi which created a gust of wind clearing the debris field so many impacts had created. Even with her strange face covered in armor there was an obvious recoil of surprise as when the dust had cleared there was nobody to be found in the deep series of craters. She immediately went on the defensive and was practically spinning like a top looking in every direction for her prey.
“I’m pretty sure I told you to distract her, not lunge at her headlong when you had no idea of her capabilities…”
Akabane was sailing over the ground at record speed, carrying so much momentum he might as well have been flying. Seized firmly in his mouth by the back of his outfit was Oketsu which admittedly under any other circumstances would have been a hilarious sight given the latter’s proportions to the former. When they had pulled a decent distance from their foe he came to the ground and dropped Oketsu, whether Oketsu landed well or not was up to him, and jumped over his cargo before sliding to a stop. He turned back around to look up at the female hollow at the same time that she realized her mistake and began looking for them.
“I know who she is now. Beatrix of the Titian Bastion, she’s a Vasto Lorde and as you may have noticed she’s supposed to be the strongest hollow to ever wield cero…” One couldn’t help but think that the sound Akabane made next was his approximation of a mocking scoff, “That’s ok, I’ve killed Vasto Lorde before and I suspect I shall do so again. To bad I’m not at full str-” Akabane paused as if he realized he wasn’t talking to the right person and then just concluded, “Again you try and distract her but keep her strengths in mind this time, keep a distance and backtrack if you need to. I just want an opening, you don’t have to break her yourself.”
He waited until Oketsu was ready, or until Beatrix finally noticed them and started charging her cannons. Either way at that point he took off in her direction and Beatrix, seeming to note he was of greater concern, began firing at the small creature. However Akabane proved to be capable of the intense speed you would expect of his stature and none of the blasts came within a meter of him, having been long gone from that area by the time it struck.
Across the way things were less interesting for Victoria. Horus and the armadillo seemed unsure of how to proceed, after all if she could stop the previous attack she could probably stop any other generic strikes. Eventually they seemed to make a decision and the armadillo pulled into a ball, the next thing Victoria knew Horus had run behind him and given a mighty shove sending him rolling toward her and chewing up everything in its way. However as it bared down on her she reared back and at the last moment swung her foot up to connect with the rolling hollow, this effectively stopped its forward momentum and only took her back an inch or two in the process. With its momentum run out the hollow unrolled and unfortunately found itself prone and on its back.
As it did so Victoria reached out and grabbed it by its long club-like tail. At that moment she looked up into the air as if she was noticing something and then with her free hand she shifted through her pockets until she pulled out a cell phone and began dialing. While doing so she began to move her arm in a circular pattern and very quickly had lifted the massive armadillo off the ground until she was swinging it like the worlds largest mace.
“Martello!” shouted Horus shortly before Victoria released the hollow and sent it flying toward Horus, the big bulky hollow hardly made it but leaped out of the way just in time, landing with a mighty thud. The armadillo named Martello continued on its trajectory for some ways before coming to a rolling stop.
By this point the phone had been answered, “Garahana, do you feel that? Keep your eyes open, pull them into tighter groups and prepare them, I think the NWO is coming.” She hung up the phone at that point and started marching toward Horus who was getting back to his feet.

Oketsu winced for a moment as sparks flew from the collision of the two attacks, but his momentary lapse in concentration was repaid with a fist to the gut, taking the wind from Oketsu’s lungs, and before he could react the hollow had spun on the spot and slammed her tail into his shoulder, sending him crashing into the ground. Oketsu sat up, a faint breeze picking up and blowing his hair over his face, and small white flecks began to gather in the air around him as the hollow showered ceros down at him, however before his mask had half formed, Akabane had dashed through and grabbed him by the back of his robes, wrenching him out from what would likely have been a fatal situation, but also snapping his concentration and causing his mask to shatter before it was formed. On top of this, his robes were gathered around his neck, choking him as he was dragged along, and his arm was too busy holding Genesis to try and free his throat.
When Akabane finally stopped running and let go of Oketsu, he lurched forward and took a deep gasp for air, heaving for air and holding his arm to his chest. ”A note cat, Vaizards still need to breathe, but thanks for saving me from almost certain doom anyway.” Oketsu coughed a few times and rubbed his hand along a faint red mark that was slowly forming on his neck as the hollow cleared the smoke and saw there was no body remaining. Oketsu could see the sudden change in her appearance as she looked around defensively, searching for where Oketsu had gone. ”I’m pretty sure I told you to distract her, not lunge at her headlong when you had no idea of her capabilities…”[/b] Oketsu sighed, ”You had the perfect opportunity to attack her when she was focused on charging her attack on me, who is she anyway, Victoria seemed to recognise them. Do you know them?”
Akabane looked over to the airborne hollow, and Oketsu noticed faint change in the cat’s face, which he figured meant it was thinking. “I know who she is now. Beatrix of the Titian Bastion, she’s a Vasto Lorde and as you may have noticed she’s supposed to be the strongest hollow to ever wield cero…That’s ok, I’ve killed Vasto Lorde before and I suspect I shall do so again. To bad I’m not at full str-” [/b] Oketsu again noticed Akabane thinking for a moment as the cat paused on its words, Oketsu was intrigued, but left it at that, whatever it was, he would find out eventually, but now was not the time. “Again you try and distract her but keep her strengths in mind this time, keep a distance and backtrack if you need to. I just want an opening, you don’t have to break her yourself.”
Oketsu rubbed his head and sighed again, things just kept on getting worse and he was noticing it increasingly. A Vatso Lorde? Aren’t they those hollows which supposedly can take on captains? Oh this is going to be a world of fun. I’ll distract then, but the sooner your ‘opportune moment’ arrives, the more likely the Brotherhood is to be up one member at the end of the day.” As he returned to a standing position, Beatrix located where he and Akabane were standing, and started charging her cannons. Akabane dashed towards her, and in a flashed dodged the blasts that were crashing into the ground behind him. Oketsu took this slight distraction to fire another Holy Light Slash through the air at Beatrix and kicked off the ground, firing a second wave behind the first so that it was shadowing the attack, and hopefully wouldn’t be noticed as he flew up towards her. Well, I’ve already lost one arm, anything else wouldn’t be too bad I suppose. Well, think of it this way, if you die, I’ll take what’s left of your body and we can be an Espada. I might even be nice enough to let you stay inside me, like I do with you, because we get along so well. Yeah, about that, no more talking, that’s just scary…[/i]

The dual light waves flew toward Beatrix, she had obviously taken note of them but was more worried about firing at Akabane who was closing in from below. Eventually though she had to take action as Oketsus strike was upon her, however she quickly displayed her superiority to the hollows they had just fought. With a mild twist of her body and a flap of her bat like wings she soared several meters above the strikes which simply continued to fly past her. Then with her even higher stance she could look out over them and spot exactly where both Oketsu and Akabane were.
She held out an arm at each one and began rapid-firing cero, each one as powerful and fatal as a charged attack had been from the previous Gillian but now with no charge time and dozens flying at once. However while they might have underestimated her she had also at the very least underestimated Akabane. Red-energy still coating him he shot straight into the air in her direction covering the hundred-meter span in seconds and appearing to fly himself. Along the way he crashed through multiple cero as if he were a knife, rather than the cero exploding when he hit them it was as if his energy was cutting small incisions into the energy to allow him to pass straight through and now he was about to rip straight through her.
The way Victoria was approaching Horus and Martello suggested she intended to finish this here and now. However even she was given pause when Horus righted himself and seeming to realize physical confrontation was out of the question energy began building in his mouth. But upon focusing on him it became increasingly clear this was not going to be any normal cero, he straightened his body out and stuck his tail into the air, flaps along his rip-cage began to open and expel excess energy into the air and with every passing moment the energy building doubled in strength. While this attack could potentially do minor damage to Victoria it was not this fact but rather what would happen if she dodged and it went off into the city that spurred her to action. For the first time Victoria ran, for most spiritually enhanced individuals at her level it was quite slow but even still for a regular human it would have been in the blink of ones eye.
As she rushed forward one could hear Horus roaring though it was muffled by the building energy in his maw. Then just as he released the blow she was there and stuff her hand into the breach of his open gullet. The explosive energy connected with the brick wall that was Victoria's own reiatsu and exploded right in the opening of his mouth and then it expanded. The middle of Karakura Park went up in a red mushroom-cloud that blasted a mighty crater in the ground and shattered the windows of buildings for a kilometer around.

All the while Oketsu was desperately fighting for his life inside the park against all from average mindless hollow to Menos Grande on the verge of evolving another individual was at the west exit of the park, laying in a fold-able chair and reading a book. All the while a dozen other people were scattered about and quickly dispatching any stray hollow that appeared in the vicinity. On the ground beside the man clad in a pair of ordinary blue trousers and a loosely buttoned white shirt laid a thin book that looked completely unremarkable with a dark blue cover, no markings or anything. Though the fact it seemed to move slightly in a steady rhythm suggested otherwise. "Edrian-san, please do something!" One of the humans who had just finished dispatching a weaker hollow yelled over to him as he began to walk closer. Edrian however merely brushed part of his raven-blue hair out of his face and changed page in the book. "And then Ichugo raised his mighty blade and bellowed in a might voice, "Friendship POWAH!" and a bright light erupted from the sacred weapon and the evil was banished.... Who wrote this crap?" Edrian said to himself before he closed the book and tossed it over his shoulder, all the while the other man had come up to him by now and was about to talk again, though Edrian interrupted him. "Guess I should avoid novels written by manga artists, eh?" The guy looked speechless, before his expression turned to anger. "What the HELL are you DOING!? They said you'd be working with us to make sure everything goes as planned, and you're just sitting here being lazy!?" The guy yelled in Edrian's face, and he seemed like he would continue as well was it not for the terrifying roar that erupted from under his right foot. "GET YOUR FILTHY FOOT OF ME YOU INSIGNIFICANT MAGGOT OF HUMAN WASTE OR I'M GONNA F*** ******* ***** ******* B****!!!" The man nearly jumped out of his pants, and out under where his foot had been came the book with the blue cover, more or less floating as it slowly 'flapped' the cover like if they were wings, as it "spoke" a mouth with what was unmistakably filled with predator teeth revealed itself along the books spine, seemingly facing the guy who had stood on-top of the sleeping Doll. "S***! son of a B**** I've got a GOD DAMN footprint on my cover now!" Geheimnis complained, though still loud the Doll at least wasn't roaring at enough of a volume to wake the whole of Karakura town. Edrian merely turned to look at his familiar and said in a mock caring tone "Would you like a band-aid for that?" In the next instant one could swear the book was trying to bite his face off while cursing simultaneously. Once the situation had calmed down, and Edrian had a firm grip on his still pissed Doll, the Bount turned to the faaar younger man. "I volunteered to help the Brotherhood with this operation of theirs, to make sure things did not run out of control. Lady Victoria can only keep so many hollow busy at any-one time. My only purpose for being here is to help in-case you actually need it, otherwise this is good training to keep you in shape and further your growth. And to be honest, you need it far more than I do." Edrian explained, as he was not an official member of the Brotherhood his stance on this should be understandable, he wanted to see them succeed but it was not his intention to lead the lesser members of the organization by their hands. The guy did not seem convinced however but just as the man began to speak Edrian focused his purple eyes on something behind the man and his facial expression grew serious. "Duck." He said over the guys ranting in a commanding tone, the guy himself seemed confused for a second but before he really had the time to know what was going on Edrian had stood up shot his left arm right past the guys head and in an instant a powerful bolt of white lightning that was crackling with powerful energies around it shot out from his palm, completely tearing through the body of a four meter tall hollow that had managed to get past the other humans, probably due to the guy ranting to Edrian having left his spot in the perimeter. The husk of the six legged scorpion-like hollow collapsed as the bolt of energy nearly cleaved it in half, before passing on and over the park where Torre just put plugged the mouth of Horus with her fist. THOOOOOM The attack and transport choppers of the New World Order were currently approaching the park of Karakura Town, with the front ones nearly being in position for drop when a massive explosion rocked the park, sending a powerful wave of air-pressure and energy slamming into the choppers who, unlike those in the park, had no cover at all and it seemed like several of the ordinary choppers was about to be knocked out of the sky, before they righted themselves and after a few seconds came back on-course. ["ETA, 20 seconds."] was heard from the speakers in the troop hold of the chopper 'Chet' was in, the man himself looked fairly nervous, probably due to the chopper nearly losing control and falling into the town below, though during this he was typing into his PDA in his lap. 'We've just reached the OZ and it seems all hell is going on down there, what is that Brotherhood up to!? We've had increasingly strong reiatsu readings from the area and it seems we're up against something worse than originally anticipated... Of course with the President, Commander Derrick and his HALO Storm on our side, victory should be assured no matter our opposition.' He was interrupted however by the guy to his side, wearing his helmet already thus obscuring his face. "Hey Rookie, pay attention. The moment the chopper touches the ground we should already be on our way, so ready up and put your damn diary away." Chet looked slightly flustered about being chastised for this, but did as he was told and put the PDA back in a small slim backpack that stood on the floor between his legs. "Yes sir!" He said afterwards as he saluted the man, before grabbing his helmet from his other side and put it on, mechanical locks clicking into place as the suit pressurized itself automatically, before the HUD on his screen lit up. ["Internal Systems Online"] Merely seconds later a dozen of the choppers hovered above several tall buildings standing right in-front of the park, toward the down-town Tokyo area. Before the choppers touched ground on flat rooftops of the semi-scrapers however the soldiers of the New World Order began to pour out, most landing simultaneously with a mighty thud before they rushed off toward the edges of the buildings as the stealth field on the choppers turned off, coming back into existence out of sight from the park itself while the grunts set up a number of heavy or long-range weaponry along the edges of the buildings. The rest of the choppers, in particular the larger one that was home to Richard Mallory and the HALO Storm was heading toward the centre of the park, readying to drop right into the heat of the action, while a few spread out to create a perimeter around the Brotherhood's own perimeter. The choppers flew too high for the little sound they produced to even reach the ground, but it was fully possible for someone of Torre's level to feel there was something else nearby now, and it was only getting closer. Right as they were prepared to drop, the stealth field surrounding the HALO Storm's chopper was turned off. "Gentlemen, it's time." Richard said, donning his own helmet as the otherwise black visor lit up with a faint blue glow and power-lines along the armors plating began to glow.

She dodged...again...fuck... Oketsu barely had time to react in what was to be one of the more confusing moments of his life. He drew Genesis behind him to fire a Holy Light Slash in an effort to defend himself, but he quickly realised that his attack would be quickly overpowered by the sheer number of attacks she was firing. Oketsu moved through the air, attempting to move to a better position to deal with her rapidly approaching attack, when suddenly a red streak of light shot past him and scattered the ceros raining down upon him.
Flipping over, he fell to the ground and landed with a noticable thud, pausing for a moment to relax his knees, which did not like the sudden impact all that much. Stretching and looking up, he watched Akabane collide with Beatrix, though from where he was he couldn't tell the severity of the impact, or the damage dealt by it. A sudden wave of reiatsu, however, took him off balance for a moment and lit up the entire park in a deathly red glow centred where Victoria had been fighting Horus. The sudden flash of reiatsu dizzied his senses for a moment, and Oketsu staggered back two steps before regaining his composure.
Unexpectedly, however, Oketsu felt the sudden appearance of something close, something he had never sensed before in all his time. "The hell is that?" Oketsu noticed that above him a large helicopter seemingly materialised out of nothing, which caused Oketsu to stop and converse with the presence lurking in his mind. "Right, you have the slightest idea of what we are up against? Titan Bastion, teleporting helicopters, what is going on? I don't know, I never got involved in the politics of Hueco Mundo, I just killed shit. Then I came to Earth, and continued to kill shit. Then I went to Soul Society and got stuck in you, how the fuck would I have the slightest idea what is going on! So what then, do we go check the helicopter or deal with the hollow, that thing is not Brotherhood, of that I am sure, and a third force would have the advantage here, so maybe we should try damage it before things get too one sided? How should I know, I'm stuck in here, having to read these things as they happen! You're mind is hardly imaginative when it comes to describing where things are, I don't know where this helicopter is apart from 'above'. Maybe if you were a little more creative I could help more! I don't write it, it just happens that way! And it probably doesn't say because I don't know! I can't measure by sight, it's above and far, does that help your majesty? Yeah, it does actually Oketsu, thank you for being so helpful TO YOUR OWN MIND YOU DOUCHE! We are in the same body, you don't need to shout, and for that matter, I'll just go the helicopter, thank you for the much needed aid! Fine, do it, and then come running to me to bail you out. I will not... You will and you damn well know it, now get out of your head and back into the fight...honestly you are such case sometimes.[/i]
Oketsu sighed and flexed the wingframe behind his back, kicking off the ground and heading up towards one of the largest helicopter before noticing several more creating a ring around the Brotherhood perimiter. What is going on here...[/i] Steering himself away from the larger helicopter and towards the larger group of helicopters, Oketsu continued on towards them, hoping to get a chance to do some damage before this new force was fully mobilised.

Akabane slammed into Beatrix but she was to fast and he to slow in this form. Thus while he did connect he only sliced her shoulder before sailing over her, she then turned and fired on him. Akabane proved fast enough to dodge these attacks but it was becoming abundantly clear that this was just going to be one long stalemate at his current strength. Regardless there was no way he could use his true form at this point in time, the very survival of humanity as a species could depend on it and while he wasn't human nor had he ever been he understood the importance there. He would just have to utilize Oketsu to the best of his ability and do this the hard way, he turned to say something and make a plan with the man only to see he was a long ways off, headed toward one of the many floating helicopters that had just appeared (but he had been ignoring in favor of the more dangerous opponent). For a long moment his mouth hung open in a human fashion before he turned back to Beatrix who was still firing on him...oh when he was done here, the Vizard was going to die.
--------
Horus took heavy and labored breaths. The amount of energy he had expelled was intended for long range use, even being near the explosion would have done damage to him, much less going off right in the opening of his mouth. His mask was cracked in several places and there were full on holes shore in some areas. If anything it was actually a testament to his strength he had survived at all as the blow had been incredible with a clear and obvious “Ground Zero” crater in the middle of the park and the cloud of dust and debris still hanging high, which it would do for quite some time. It was also this cloud amongst Victoria's owned heightened senses that exposed the arrival of the NWO earlier than they should have. Try as they might if they wanted to get close enough to strike the helicopters blades wound up disturbing the cloud and giving away their position.
Victoria, who was relatively unscathed save tattered clothing along the arm she used to block the blast, turned and looked upward. Her eyes searched and then locked on one area as if even through the stealth field one of the targets seemed strongest. She turned back to Horus who being on the verge of unconsciousness, hadn't moved and then developing a plan quickly she reached further down his throat. She grasped his tongue causing him to gag and flail slightly as the action brought him back a little but it was too late, she spun and angled the giant hollow high before releasing him toward the empty space of sky like a reverse comet. She cursed when moments later the helicopter released its stealth field and she saw her aim had been slightly off...but it was still going to hit, the results probably just wouldn't be as immediate as she had hoped.
--------
Derrick stood in the middle of the HALO Storm Flying Fortress 001 Helo-Raven, the official name of their much larger (if still sleek) chopper. Normally it'd have just been him and the other HALO members doing their usual prep but as it was Richard Mallory, or Hunter as he and the other senior members knew him was tagging along and with him a dozen other Elite troopers. Derrick had been loaded down with useless baggage before but he hoped that with these being the personally selected Elite by Richard they might prove more effective and knowledgeable when they hit the field than past tag-alongs.
Of course whatever the case he couldn't blame Richard for fronting everything he could along with a small army of others setting up a perimeter. The regular soldiers knew they were headed for a big battle but exactly how big was something only the upper-echelon were aware of, after all morale was an important factor. It wasn't the biggest battle in terms of scale Derrick had ever been in, far from it, but it might very well be the one involving the single-strongest individuals. It had started out humbly enough with a few low-level hollows setting off alarms, then the gathering energy in the air had been detected which the NWO had come to realize was a sign of this “Brotherhood”, though what they were up to was still a matter of debate. However as minor plans were being drawn up to deal with the situation creatures of such size and strength began showing up in such quick succession they could hardly compensate their plans in time. When virtual unknown energy signatures had begun skyrocketing in the area the entire NWO infrastructure had gone into red-alert, Richard had ceased what he was doing and pre-coordinated plans were set in motion to mobilize a massive force in an unbelievably short time.
Now they were traveling to that place, it would only take a few minutes. In that time the darkened interior of the vehicle lit only by a pulsing red light and a port window on each side was completely still, save someone occasionally checking a piece of equipment over before the fight began. Derrick gave some thought to the Brotherhood, they had long known about this group but until just a month ago they had been a group of punk kids that occasionally gained a powerful member that the NWO inevitably either picked up for themselves or put down. They were known to interact with non-humans and for that reason had been deemed a threat, however the threat had been so small they had simply been put on the back burner while more important actions were taken. Then one day the Brotherhood simply went into overdrive, became increasingly active and structured, even engaged in a small battle with the NWO over a spirit and now here they were. They knew the Brotherhood had received a new leader, a female, but other than a few pictures they knew absolutely nothing about her other than what the Brotherhoods current state told them. That was, that she was a skilled leader and she had a plan, now depending on what that plan was she could either just be a nuisance...or a dangerous foe.
But the time for thinking was over, they were ETA Twenty and Richard was making his move toward the back. The HALO Storm moved quickly into position before holding one of several bars in the ceiling meant for stabilization since the drop procedure was rather rocky. The other Elite's began to move into position and then just when they were almost all prepared the Helo rocked horribly causing all of them to lean and several of those who hadn't grabbed on to anything to fall over. Suddenly Svitz their pilot interrupted over the com system and at the same time the back ramp blew open, an emergency procedure since it was usually a smooth machine.
“DITCH!” He roared before the door to the cockpit flung open and his face appeared pointing toward the back, “GOOOOOO!!!” and Derrick nor any of the other HALO's needed to be told anything more, jumping out the back, still several dozen meters of the ground below.
As he did so he spotted at the last moment as a massive hole was torn into the side of the Helo and along with it three of the Elite's simply disappeared into thin air. Then the Helo buckled around them wildly, spinning and taking out several other Elite's unlucky enough to be in its path though Richard, the HALO's and another six Elite's were still operational. They came to a slamming stop at the ground below, though Richard and Derrick felt it least of all due to their high-class armor all of them made the drop alright due to varying levels of such armor. Derrick looked to the side to watch as the Helo broke clean in half at this point, its tail end slamming into the ground and shredding into a thousand pieces. Meanwhile as a testament to Svitz skill and why he was the elite of elite pilots, while most would simply have plowed into the ground he actually managed straighten what remained of the beast out, a seemingly impossible task. It landed on its belly, the weight of the crash immediately crushing its landing struts and then after sliding for quite a ways it rolled over two times before it ended on its back. A second after it had done so something strangely lizard looking and large came slamming to the ground a ways behind it.
However they hadn't spent their time watching this scene closely, they were trained soldiers. They immediately began to fan out and cover their sectors while focusing on the still smoking crater before them. After a few moments a human figure came walking out of the smoke, Derrick immediately recognized her as the woman leader from the Intel they had been keeping on the Brotherhood. They trained all their guns on her as some of the Elite's moved to flank her while she walked to stand in the middle of them and ran one hand through her hair.
“I take it you're the NWO leaders from your strength and coordination? Why have you disturbed us? As long as you minded your own business I was willing to leave you alone for the time being.” Her eyes glowed a deep purple and she made no attempt to hide her full reiatsu (or her full Gigai reiatsu) from these people, these were the kind of humans for whom power did mean something, “Cross that threshold at your own peril.”

OOC: Pretty much how Richard's current armor (The Mk2 AISC) looks like ClickyTesting another way of writing large multi-sided posts, hope it isn't too confusing. Sadly for Oketsu the mere fact that the Attack-Transport helicopters of the New World Order had de-activated their Stealth Field Units meant they were already in position with their soldiers dropping off. One negative toward these current prototypes were that opening a hatch or other section of the choppers would break the weak field surrounding it thus making dropping off troops while it was still invisible an impossibility. But onto more urgent parts of the developing battlefield, Edrian was still having an argument with his Doll Geheimnis when the later suddenly got quiet and though the book did not have eyes one couldn't help but think it seemed to be leaning toward the sky a bit. "What's that...?" It said, sounding quite unsure of itself like if it wasn't sure if whatever it was feeling was imagined or not. "What's what?" Edrian responded, looking quite sceptical, before he too realized something was up and immediately grabbed ahold of the floating book, much to it's dismay, before he flipped the pages open and stopped at one with a ton of text on the left page, including many formulas using terms that even Edrian wasn't completely sure off, and what could be said to be illustrations on the right page, while still keeping a very formulae-ish construction. It all looked like something you might find in ancient parchments or the like. "Wacha gonna use Hirenkyaku for?" Geheimnis asked as Edrian put a hand on the open pages as a faint glow enveloped him for a second, then he quickly closed the book and took a firm grip of it's cover without answering. A little earlier but also at the same time to this, Richard just finished speaking when the Helo-Raven rocked suddenly sending many of the ELITEs who had yet to steady themselves onto the walls or the floor, while Richard himself was quick to grab onto the 'bench' he had been sitting on with his right arm, the exo-skeleton in his armor enabling him the strength and steadfastness to stay in position when a normal human would have fallen. When Svitz, pilot of the HALO Storm came out of his cockpit and yelled at them to jump immediately, Richard knew it was serious. This was the first time he accompanied the HALO Storm on an operation like this, usually operating separately from Derrick as a "divided front", hitting their enemy from two directions or more. The man had always spoken highly of Svitz, how he even considered him part of the HALO and coming from a man like Derrick this was high praise indeed. Knowing this, it meant that the situation was urgent and so Richard was quick to follow Derrick and his unit out the hatch, however he had been slightly too quick as he grabbed onto a large metal "briefcase" which was more akin to a long box of roughly a meter and a half in length, two decimetres tall and one decimetre wide, as the thing slipped out of his grasp just as he went over the edge and out the hatch, the briefcase falling on it's own. Richard couldn't help but curse as he lost his grip on the case holding the Prototype Mag-Rail built to be used by less monstrously large men like Derrick, a long list of swear-words that lasted almost all the way down to the ground as he fought gravity and righted himself by using the still not fully activated Spirit Levitation Device built into the armors metal boots. Having something to actually lessen the falling speed Richard and co hit the ground slightly longer than a second after the case holding his prototype weapon did, the metal case itself surviving admirably well though the bang of the impact was a bad sign overall. Richard himself grunted as he stood up after the impact, and though he had felt it quite a bit more than Derrick did despite his more advanced armor, it was mostly due to being fairly sure the weapon was now useless. Like the others present at the scene Richard was a professional and so he immediately turned his attention toward the smoking crater, and when Victoria stepped out of it he was put even more on guard, pulling his rather large black colored Desert Eagle styled gun from a holster on the armors right thigh before trailing it on her like all the rest. When she stopped moving forward and being completely surrounded by them Richard took a few steps back and bent down beside the cask, moving his left arm to it and righted it, opening it with one hand while keeping the gun in his other still trailed at Victoria's forehead. While Victoria was speaking he dragged the cask forward a bit and lowered his head a bit, making him able to examine the advanced weapon inside while still having his eyes on the woman before him. To his fears he had been right and the weapon was broken, though not beyond repair but it was unlikely he would get the opportunity to do so here. With an annoyed grunt that did not escape the airtight and sound dampening confines of his armor Richard stood up as he heaved the slightly over one meter long Mag-Rail prototype over his shoulder, fastening it with a strap that came with the weapon and also an electro-magnet like system that was incorporated on the back of the armor allowing him to store larger pieces of equipment (as long as they were made of metal) on the back of it. Though he had listened as the woman spoke, he had not cared much for it. Nothing she could say raised his attention though as she paused for a second her reiatsu began to flare, something he noticed with his eyes through the visor and the sudden level of warning his HUD was displaying. She was a Class A priority target at the least, and so was a very dangerous opponent however Richard had never seen a human that could not be taken down by sheer numbers, no matter their strength. Her last sentence made him cock his head back a little however, as he narrowed his eyes angrily, though she couldn't see this due to the visor. "I will say the same to you, so long as you and your little cult kept to yourselves I was willing to ignore your disgusting presence, but now that you are calling Hollow over to this world, I can no longer let it go unpunished. No one stands in the way of our mission, and with the murder of three of our finest soldiers and the destruction of New World Order property you have the arrogance to tell US to back off? You have already passed the threshold, and you will pay for it." And as he finished speaking his voice distorted by the external speakers making his voice sound more intimidating than it actually was, Richard pulled the trigger of his custom-built MDE44, sending a bullet of high reiatsu concentration and explosive properties flying straight toward Victoria's forehead. The bullet meant to pierce a target and later explode inside their body instead shattered upon impact, causing a bright flash and sparks to fly everywhere, raining down around Victoria who's head had been pushed back by the force of the gun, which had probably been a bit stronger than she had anticipated but still not strong enough to harm her... Of course Richard had immediately assumed she would be dead when she made no attempt to move and so turned sideways to watch for their next target while sending out a command to all outside squad leaders. "Begin the execution, kill them all and any who aid them." If only he knew what he was up against... As this occurred however Edrian looked up just in time to see a helicopter aligning for a straight shot at him. And just as he realized what was about to happen and the guy who was still next to him out of shock from all the sudden events looked up to see it himself, it shot what was no doubt a missile straight at them. In a flash (quite literary) Edrian grabbed ahold of the mans collar and used Hirenkyaku, appearing a slight bit away merely a split second before the missile hit the ground where he used to be and exploded sending all from dirt to concrete flying everywhere. "Ah.. That was my favourite portable chair..." Edrian whined as he put the man down behind cover, ignoring anything he may have said before he disappeared again. Flashing around the west exit of Karakura park, Edrian worked hard on bringing as many of the Brotherhood members to a safe place a short bit outside the NWO's current perimeter as he could, where he told them to run before he returned inside. Unfortunately he did not have the time to save all of them as a squad of ELITEs had moved inside the perimeter and gunned down anyone that had been left and not already hidden, their powers not saving them from the far more coordinated soldiers of the NWO who had quickly spread out and taken them on from several angles. Appearing halfways up a tree with thick branches and filled with leaves, hiding him quite well, Edrian began to gasp for air as he nearly fell out of the tree. "Man, you really suck." Geheimnis remarked, though it didn't hold quite as much of the poison the Doll's insults usually did, which was a bit of a surprise for Edrian. "Well hey, I'd like to see you expend more than half your complete reiatsu reserves in half a minute without getting tired..." The Bount remarked himself while panting for air, the Doll actually chuckling at this, for some reason it was in a good mood which was unusual in and of itself. However on the other side of the park the choppers that had just a minute prior dropped off two squads of Grunts and one ELITE squad were now noticing Oketsu from his fast approach. With his reiatsu signature coming up on their radars and his glowing wings making him an apparent target, the Attack-Transport choppers swooped around as they let loose a hail of missile-fire, a dozen reiatsu powered missiles that headed toward the Vizard at neck-breaking speed in a spread out pattern, though the pilots of the choppers were experienced and did not make any assumptions and therefore spread themselves out, one ascending up into the air while the other two began to circle around the Vizard should he dodge or survive somehow, the moment they knew either way they would begin to hail their machine-guns toward him, though if he acted just right they would probably have trouble keeping up with him.

Oketsu flew through the air as the NWO helicopters moved into position to fire. An attack formation it would seem, and Faith said watching those shows on air combat would never pay off in real life. Gotta wait for just the right moment...[/i] Oketsu sighed and dropped Genesis, aiming for a large building below him which stood out from the others around it as a large red light stood atop its roof. Moving his arm up to his chest, Oketsu waited for the moment he saw the first burst of light that signalled that the missiles were being unleashed. A strong and sudden build up of reiatsu filled Oketsu's body as the first spark ignited in the missile pods, signalling the comencement of his plan, "Hado 69, Wave of Destruction!"
Throwing his arm forth, a powerful wave of reiatsu shot forth from Oketsu's body, crashing into the missiles as the left their launch pods, detonating some, and causing others to fly back into the pods from which they came, detonating the rockets inside and decimating the helicopters holding them. "Hell yeah, that's what I'm talking about!" He kicked off the ground and flew back towards where Beatrix was, if there were any helicopters left, he wasn't going to hang around and see, he'd dealt with enough to let them know that they weren't going to have a easy battle, and threw his arm forth once more towards Beatrix this time.
Reiatsu built up in his arm again, and the ground below Beatrix slowly cracked below her. "Bakudo number 61, Chains of Fury!" Four red chains shot up through the ground, flying up with incredible speed towards Beatrix, two smaller chains shot up and lashed out like serpents from behind her while she was distracted by Akabane, aiming to grab her arms and point them at the larger helicopter, while a third, considerably larger, chain dived towards her mid section, and the final chain shot towards her neck, planning on holding her in place so that Akabane would be able to get a direct hit in.
As he did this, he noticed a group of men moving off towards Victoria, and hoped she would be able to deal with it, he was still otherwise distracted, there were other helicopters around, and Beatrix wouldn't be dealt with until Akabane made his attack. Hold out just a little longer, with any luck the snake'll be dealt with and the cat and I can come back you up, just hold out...[/i]

((OOC: Joint post, Zhiel and me.))
---------------------
Victoria didn't really like picking on those weaker than her, it wreaked of the sort of thing her old companions at Las Noches would do but sometimes it was necessary. The depth of her understanding for this NWO was indeed the weakest of her potential foes but she knew enough. She knew that they used force to get what they want, she knew that they utilized soul energy to power their weapons and that souls seemed to disappear when they were around, and now their true colors had been revealed in their overzealous and instant desire to wipe their fellow humans out without explanation. Yes, Victoria did not like to pick on those weaker than her, but that pertained to those who were innocent, it was now obvious...the NWO was not innocent. It was obvious they would not help the Brotherhood and though they might face the Hollows if forced to it was also clear they could cause as much trouble as their real enemy in the time that might take. She might not like it but as she felt other soldiers dropping in amongst her own people, many of whom she knew might be injured or die in this conflict not being as tough as her, she knew they had to be dealt with.
Back to reality, that had hurt, she had never expected a human weapon to hurt her in any way and that was perhaps more proof that this was an organization that was better off being dealt with as soon as possible. If they could already make weapons she could feel then they could do some real damage to weaker individuals if they were given the time to improve. Of course as for what just happened and it hurting...well, a mosquito bite hurt in its own way as well...and thats about all that could be said about that. For a brief moment her head snapped back and Richard's response further suggested he was used to hunting weak and outclassed opponents, he was about to regret that. The rest of the soldiers hadn't been quite as cocky as he was but they did let their guard down and show obvious signs of being disappointed in a lackluster result after all the effort put into this operation. They were still turned toward her but most of them had lowered their weapons at that point which was a grave error, of course it was arguable if they would have helped in the least anyhow.
One of the regular soldiers had simply been to close, it was likely regulation distance for this sort of situation but that was when you were dealing with a human. Victoria had hardly brought her head up to show that the bullet had done little more than leave a small pink pinprick on her forehead when she took a step to the side. She produced a backhand to the mans chest and for the first time showed why regular humans weren't meant to fight spirit beings. He died instantly but that didn't make it pretty for the others to watch, Victoria could control her strength to an extent but it was beyond her ability to lower them enough not to decimate a human form upon contact. His low level armor simply vaporized around the chest area where the strike had connected and the force rippled through his body ripping out the backside, both armor and long strands of flesh and blood flew into the air behind him.
Victoria knew not to stop even though the grotesque difference in power sickened her, this was no time for sympathy, she might not die but the quicker she ended this the more humans in the Brotherhood she saved. She reached up and caught the now dead man by the arm, looked to one of the other soldiers who among the rest was just now realizing the danger and going to raise his weapon. Victoria slung the limp body in his direction, the forces she exerted on the body were even greater than she expected and its arm tore off at the stump long before she could release the whole form. What was released could hardly be made out to be a body, it was in her hand, then it wasn't and by that point it had already collided with the other man. The body and the other soldier had been sent hurtling across the field before slamming into the ground several times with speed and force that turned the majority of both into long red smears. She tossed the remaining arm at another soldier and while the result wasn't hardly as horrifying it still hit him in the head and snapped his neck back in a way that no human could experience and live before he fell to the ground.
By this point they were all aiming at her and opening fire but the bullets simply bounced off as if she were made of some wholly unknown material. Then she stepped forward and zoomed toward Richard with great speed from a human perspective. Derrick didn't have time to think about what was happening or how this was possible, he just knew it was his job to keep Richard safe. He was of course a monster of a man and made even more so by the Mark 2 armor he wore which dwarfed all the other armors being worn currently and which was geared specifically to his strengths. He had no time for bullets and they didn't seem to be working anyway, his own strength which was considerable would work better, he wasn't sure if he actually believed this but with Victoria already there he couldn't sit around considering the possibility of if this went wrong. His left arm which included a massive mechanical piston began charging with as much soul energy as he could force into it and the larger fist on that arm crackled with electrical energy. Due to how quickly he had force it the energy was unpredictable and tore through the ground around him in large arcing streams but he had a target to force it into and released the piston straight at the charging Victoria.
She ran straight up to him and placed one arm on top of his hand and the other below it before bracing her legs, allowing the blow to flow through her and into the ground. It had been a powerful attack for a human but it had been no greater than that which Horus had released upon her earlier, simply more condensed but not more than enough to shift her footing back an almost imperceptible degree. When the energy had pilfered out completely and there was no forward momentum on the mans part anymore she pulled her right leg back with him firmly in hand and kicked at his knee.
It shattered instantly, the armor exploding in the same fashion the weaker armor had if in slightly larger shards. His knee followed suit, completely inverting in the opposite direction a knee should bend. Derrick was a tough man and tried not to scream but he still made a sickening gurgle laden grunt when this occurred, but Victoria had just gotten started, when this man was incapacitated there was little the others here could do. With his arm still in hand she pulled downward and the plates on his gauntlet erupted upward before a break that could be heard clear through his armor occurred, and this time he did yell. Releasing the arm she slammed one hand into his other arm, breaking the armor and sending blood flying as the blow almost severed his arm at the the shoulder before she used her other hand to grab him and drive his torso on to her knee where she released a wave of reiatsu. This was to much for the suit and what was left buckled and exploded in a cloud of shrapnel leaving only a few pieces hanging on and the undersuit beneath it.
Before he could hit the ground though she pulled her hand back and slapped him across the face which sent him tumbling for a dozen meters, he did not get up or even make a movement and his entire body was contorted in ways a human body simply should not have been. It would not have been surprising to find that almost every bone in his body was broken, shattered or at least fractured and this was close to the truth. Had he not been wearing his armor (and even then it was sheer luck) as well as having the large amount of reiatsu he did to support him he would no doubt have died in the first blow or two, and even though he was still alive for the moment, his continued survival would grow more unlikely with every passing moment. For just a moment it was evident nobody knew how to react but one of the men said something over their com and they began firing again though one couldn't help but notice they were backing up while doing so. After all Derrick was the strongest one-on-one fighter the NWO had, he had fought Hollows the size of small buildings with his bare hands...things were bad.
On the far end of the field a mechanical voice called out, “DERRICK!...YOU BITCH!!!” and a giant mechanized monster came rolling across the ground, breaking formation and charging their position at highway speeds.
There was now nobody between Victoria and Richard and the effect the bullets had were painfully underwhelming, a dozen soldiers firing full-auto were just seeing their attacks falling to the ground after repelling off her iron like skin, and none of them could hope to compare to Derricks physical capabilities. As she got closer to Richard they also had to start firing with less consistency due to the danger of hitting him. She began to get closer as she cracked the knuckles in her right hand, “Poor decision.”
Richard had certainly never expected the woman to survive, or even be completely unharmed by the 44 caliber bullet charged to the brim with reiatsu. But here she was, backhanding his ELITEs to oblivion and beyond, blood and guts flying everywhere along with metal shrapnel from the armor suits... He had never seen anything like this and though it wasn't quite fear, Richard was nearly paralyzed for a second but when the lump that had once been 2nd Lieutenant Mikhael Anders, a candidate for the new Battle Operative training program flew across his field of vision and made a red smear out of the mans own superior officer. Seeing this Richard began to back away as he opened a storage compartment on the left thigh and pulled out what seemed like two cartridges before he moved one of them to his other hand, not wasting any more time to act Richard sent several 'mental commands' through his AIC Suit that opened small hatches in the arm-guards covering all the way from his wrists to his elbows, the hatch being just under the palms of his hands and with a quick action the cartridge like objects had been inserted.
It was at this moment that Victoria decided to go after him, and as he was still busy absorbing the contents of his Spirit Batteries he was not ready to face her just yet. However at the last second Derrick stepped in but he ended up being beaten... Badly... Determined not to let his sacrifice go to waste however Richard quickly jumped backwards, using the spirit levitation device to float along shortly above the ground thus coming farther away from Victoria that he otherwise would have, and in the meantime he ejected the now empty cartridges as the side effects of absorbing two at the same time began to be felt by him. His perception of time suddenly felt slower, while things around him came into perfect clarity and simultaneously the blue power lines along his armor began to shine brightly from the overflow of energy now coursing through the armor suit and him. Having gathered himself from the overdose Richard could now see Victoria heading toward him after having bitch-slapped Derrick into a twisted pile on the solid ground, and somewhere way in the background he heard the synthesized voice of Tank yell out, though the words was lost on him as his focus was entirely on Victoria now. Before she could truly close her distance Richard grabbed the stock of the large Mag-Rail rifle and pulled it off his back, throwing the whole thing with incredible force probably rivaling what Derrick was otherwise capable off, with Richards more advanced armor combined with the overflowing reiatsu he had absorbed.
The moment the weapon started zooming toward Victoria however Richard uttered a quick audio command through his suit, and the moment the thing began to crackle with energy it was obvious it was rigged to explode. After watching her take Derrick's strongest attack head-on Richard had no allusions that such a improvised explosive had any chance of harming her, however it's main purpose was to obscure her surroundings which it did admirably well as it exploded in a powerful burst of reiatsu and electricity creating a cloud of dust around the place it hit. Richard quickly acted on this, pushing extra power into his Spirit Levitation Device before he pushed away with all strength he and his Exo-Skeleton could muster pushing the man nearly thirty meters up into the air, before he activated the levitation device main function, it focusing both internal and external spirit particles into an invisible barrier of force that Richard was able to stand on without any problems. As he was doing this however Richard pulled out another set of Spirit Batteries from his storage compartment and while gritting his teeth in tense anticipation of the pain that would follow the complete overdose, he inserted the cartridges into the once again opened hatches. Simultaneously he sent a message over the com-unit, having turned off his external speakers to prevent Victoria from locating him prematurely though he wouldn't be surprised if she could do so anyhow.
"Fall back! Take Derrick and run-" He began, though grunting in pain as the side-effects of absorbing roughly twenty times his own reiatsu mass began to make themselves apparent... Oh he was going to feel this afterwards, assuming Victoria didn't kill him that is. "Take him and return to the rendezvous point, call in Y1!" Though the message was mostly meant for the remaining HALO Storm members, it was also a way to get the ELITEs to back off. However as he stood in the air, the cartridges now empty and being ejected from the hatches, the previously shining blue power lines instead now began to crackle with energy, bolts of blue striking in-between any lines that interjected each others, as small cracks appeared in some areas of the power suit from the overload. Though to assume the suit had become brittle would be foolish, it had only become stronger, far far stronger. Though how long this, or Richard, would last was questionable to say the least.
---------------------
Seemingly forgotten amongst the sudden appearance of a new human force and the sheer scale of the approaching battle Horus stood up from where he had landed. He was damaged to a greater extent than he had suffered in as long as he could remember, a normal hollow would have been angered or continued attacking on instinct, but he was not normal. He had learned much this day, he now knew there were individuals in the real world who should not be underestimated, he also knew that the human factions were broken up just as much as the hollow world and prone to just as much infighting, both important facts to know for different reasons. He also realized that any change that could be made here was long past and the only thing he and his group stood to gain was death, no more hollows were going to appear here and what information could be gleaned about the human groups already had been.
He called out to Beatrix, his bellowing voice easily crossing the distance, “Beatrix! We are leaving!”
He took a step back and an orange dimensional portal ripped its way into reality, then taking one more step back he was gone and the portal closed. Across the field a similar portal appeared behind Martello which he managed to pull himself through before it to closed, clearly having no more desire to be here than his leader.
Meanwhile Beatrix who heard Horus seemed to look across in a questioning manner before she simply nodded. She looked to her two opponents just as Oketsu was releasing his binding spell and made what, had she not been a hollow, was probably meant to be a school-girl style wave. She shot high into the air, far faster than Oketsus chains could keep up and then a bright light of orange appeared in the sky, more difficult to see than the ones that had appeared on the ground. Regardless when the light had disappeared she too was nowhere to be found and all three hollows energy signatures had vanished completely. Akabane instantly knew this threat was over and instead he landed near Oketsu, turning toward the several helicopters still circling about.
“Someday I will claw your throat out in your sleep for that stupid, stupid decision. But for now we have other matters to attend to.”
---------------------
The wave of energy that Oketsu let loose on the attack-transport choppers and the load they just unleashed toward him did have the effect he had wished for, mostly. The chopper that had begun ascending was hit immediately due to it not having built up enough of a momentum to rise quickly enough. The flying machine exploded violently sending metal shrapnel and hull pieces flying everywhere, hitting both NWO soldiers and Brotherhood members in the area, however the fact that the NWO soldiers were armored and had military training gave them a far higher advantage in avoiding heavy injuries.
The same could not be said for the other two choppers however, having been moving sideways already from the point they shot the missiles their momentum had simply been too much for the missiles to be pushed back into them. Instead the now wildly flying missiles struck the sides of buildings outside the park, the reiatsu charged missile tearing a deep hole into it before exploding showering the streets below in debris as large portions of the mid and upper portions of the apartment complex fell apart...
The choppers seemed to ignore their fallen comrade and the destruction wreaked behind them, if anything it might have increased their fervor and let loose a seemingly endless wave of reiatsu charged lead from dual-machine guns under a pair of small 'wings' on the sides of the cockpit of the choppers. It was about this time that the soldiers on the ground began to spread out as well, one group of Grunts advancing forward quickly while quickly dispatching any Brotherhood members trying to move from whatever hiding spots they had found, while another group of Grunts were covering their backs from slightly behind and the ELITE squad that accompanied them began to fire at Oketsu as well.
Though at first their fire might have seemed random, the longer the Vizard attempted to dodge them it would become increasingly apparent they were actually just keeping him busy as fire other choppers swooped down from above, they too firing hails of energy-laden bullets toward the Vizard, and unless he did something quick he'd soon be cornered by the sheer number of them all.

OOC: Zhiel, you weren't on when writing this, so I wasn't 100% sure of how strong or how many guys there would be, I got a vauge idea from GK, and wrote this up from that, however if they are stronger than I gave them credit for, feel free to ask me to re-post, cause I know nothing about NWO, so I don't really know what I was up against.
Damn, she got away that fast?[/i] Oketsu sighed and turned, realising that two of the helicopters had survived the attack, and were beginning to unleash a hail of reiatsu charged bullets upon him. Akabane flew and landed next to Oketsu, remarking upon how stupid Oketsu’s decision was. ”It worked, she’s gone, lets move on with our lives! You deal with helicopters, I’ll deal with the soldiers on the ground.” Oketsu threw his arm towards the first of the two remaining helicopters. The falling chains behind him twitched for a moment before registering their new command flying straight past Oketsu and aiming to grab the first helicopter and slam it into the second, but Oketsu didn’t have as much time as he would have liked to watch the results of this manoeuvre, as ground teams opened fire on him from below as well, and he could see more helicopters were approaching him. This is several levels of not good…
Oketsu realised that things were not going his way, and without Genesis, he didn’t stand much of a chance as new helicopters moved in to open up fire upon him. You know, it’s times like these you are lucky you have me. Were it not for you I’d probably still have my other arm and not have dropped Genesis in the first place, so I’d be able to take them. Of that I am certain, however you don’t have Genesis, all you have is me. See those soldiers down there? You can direct a cero at them, kill a few, disorientate the rest, go down and crush them with your enhanced speed and strength, then work on up to taking out those flying machines. And you are sure that will work? Of course I am, they’re just humans, a cero blast will rip through their pathetic defences.[/i]
Oketsu kicked from the spot he was in, narrowly avoiding a trace of fire from one of the helicopters as it tore through the air he was occupying only moments ago. Oketsu’s hair fell about his face, and flecks of white appeared to gather on his face as a red light built up, visible through Oketsu’s hair. As his hair parted, Oketsu’s mask glistened in the red light of his cero, which he fired moments later aimed at the centre of the group of soldiers. He ensured that his movements on the way down were erratic and near impossible to predict, aiming to prevent the survivors from reorganising after the cero blast detonated in their midst, vaporising three unfortunate soldiers instantly and several of the others were sent sprawling. Those who had remained upright continued firing on Oketsu, however his rapid movements prevented any of them from finding their mark.
As the soldiers who had been knocked down righted themselves, Oketsu landed atop one of them, his foot crushing through their helmet with ease, before he launched towards two men who had brought their rifles to bear at him, and leapt over them, ripping the arm off one with reasonable ease before spinning on the spot and kicking the injured soldier into several of his companions, the closest of which was knocked down with a sickening crack as the impact shattered his sternum through his armour, the other were simply knocked to the ground and shaken by the impact of their heads to the ground. The impact of his arrival was quickly wearing off, however, and the remaining twenty odd soldiers turned their rifles on Oketsu and opened fire.
Dropping to a crouching position, Oketsu dashed along the ground and crashed through the legs of one of the soldiers, grabbing his screaming body and walking backwards, using it to cover him. The soldiers quickly moved to flank him, and Oketsu charged a cero in his mouth again before throwing the body to the soldiers approaching his right flank while jumping and firing his cero in the soldiers on his other side, tearing a bloody hole through four of the men, and removing the gun arm of a fifth, while the body caused the soldiers on the other side to stumble as the still living soldier flailed in pain as he crashed into them, preventing them for launching an immediate counterattack while Oketsu ran towards the remaining six soldiers on the left hand side. The first, without his firing arm, backed away a little too slowly, and found Oketsu’s fist on the other side of his chest, and a gaping hole where there was no gaping hole before. The hand that had burst through his chest opened to fire another cero through three of the remaining soldiers, but the survivors had spread out and opened fire.
While Oketsu managed to dodge most the rounds, one of the men was lucky enough to fire a burst directly into Oketsu’s forehead, causing his head to snap back for a moment, but the moment was not long enough for the NOW to capitalise on and as the man watched in dismay the bullets fell to the ground, and the shallow wounds they had scored on the mask quickly healed themselves. ”My turn.” The man opened fire, but Oketsu was too fast, sidestepping and jumping forward with enough speed and strength to catch the man’s gun and very quickly ram it upwards into its owners head while it still fired. Several holes appeared in the back of his helmet, and a thick red spray escaped from the confines of the mans body as he slumped, only to be kicked straight into the last surviving man his flank, flying straight into his head and shattering helmet and skull alike, the impact tearing through his brain and killing him instantly.
The nine remaining soldiers fanned out and moved to encircle Oketsu, who leaped up into the air again, however another lucky shot managed to pass through his shin. Slightly irritated by this, Oketsu sped up his movements and landed outside of the circle, throwing his hand forth as a ball of red energy shot from his outstretched hand and engulfed the nearest man in flames, and a quick jump saw Oketsu fly-kick the burning man into another of his companions, the two of them being engulfed in red spiritual fire before crumpling in a heap to the ground. Rushing towards two soldiers who were standing together, bullets ricocheting off his mask as he dashed head first towards them, he leapt into the air and turned on his side, his hand grabbing one man’s head and his foot catching the other, and Oketsu proceeded to reduce these heads to a thick red paste leaking from their crushed helmets as their bodies twitched in the small craters the impact had made.
Realising they were seriously outclassed, the remaining soldiers moved to retreat, only to find Oketsu quickly had caught up to them, tearing through the first with his fist and catching his spine, ripping it out and running up to trip the legs of two other soldiers, stepping full force on their backs and crushing through their spines before whipping the spine across the head of one of the soldiers that both the man’s helmet and the spine shattered on impact. Throwing another ball of red fire, the last retreating soldier was cut down, and Oketsu turned on the man who had been knocked to the ground when his helmet was smashed. The man had drawn a pistol and fired it through Oketsu’s stomach, causing him considerably more anger than pain in his current form. Within an instant, Oketsu had stood on the man’s arm and shattered the bone inside, the armour surrounding it only barely holding together as chunks of it shattered around. Lifting the man up from the ground, Oketsu charged a cero and fired it point blank into the man’s face, vaporising his head before throwing his corpse to the ground. Walking over to the two soldier who had lost consciousness from being knocked to the ground, Oketsu simply stepped on their necks, shattering their trachea and causing them to slowly choke and die in their forced slumber. Oketsu sighed and looked up to see how Akabane was faring with the helicopters, and wondered if the cat would be needing his aid. As he did, the wingframes of reiatsu behind him slowly faded away, wherever Genesis was, Oketsu wasn’t getting anything out of him at this range, and keeping his Shikai active would serve no use from here on out.

Humans were spontaneous, that was both what made them so interesting and so dangerous. Most spirit beings had a tendency to drag things out, as a general rule the older ones had some degree of intense pride and would never pull out their trump card until they were virtually on the precipice of death. This was in sharp contrast to the current situation, certainly the human leader had been dramatically out of his league but to so quickly judge this a time for immediate and near suicidal action was something Victoria, as one such elderly spirit being (if perhaps less stuck in her ways than most), could not foresee. It was this, on top of the facts that she did not yet fully understand how the NWO tech worked nor the limits of their functionality, that wound up protecting Richard. His improvised explosive wasn't something her traditionally situated fighting mind would have thought up, though she would keep it in sight for the future, and the following burst of energy while utilizing the given cover was enough to put the needed distance between them to pump himself up. Richard would not escape this day unscathed, but he had saved his life.
As predicted the explosive didn't do much damage to Victoria. What someone needed to damage her annoyingly powerful defenses was concentration, explosive attacks were little better than blowing a gust of wind against a regular individual. No, what was required was someone with a great deal of reiatsu who could also focus that energy into a contained area, then you had someone that could start doing damage...the NWO unfortunately lacked such an individual this day. More importantly it momentarily blocked her ability to track Richard on a spiritual wavelength...it did not however completely obscure her eyes which had been well trained over a thousand years of battle to see through such petty smokescreens. Regardless for the split second he was lost to her she moved on to other things, Richard might have been making it out of this day alive but his men weren't so lucky.
On his order the HALO Storm and the remaining Elite's had begun pulling out, the largest man amongst them had shouldered the broken Derrick and single-handedly began pulled him along while the rest opened fire into the cloud left by Richard's improvised explosive. Then one moment the closest Elite that was blindly firing was there and the next an arm had reached out of the cloud and pulled him in where his communication promptly cut off. None of them were fools and made no further attempt to retrieve him, instead using the opportunity to double-time it as far as possible, that was when the body of the captured soldier came flying out of the cloud and clipped one of the last Elite's snapping his spine clear in half as he fell backward. Then a shadow formed in the clouds, one of Victoria's typical slow but steady movement from one place to another and it was this it seemed the HALO storm had been waiting for. The only obvious female among them released her hands in a spread pattern and at this half a dozen little black balls sailed into the cloud, there was a brief pause and then the explosive crater went up in another series of fire balls.
It might have seemed to the HALO Storm who soon pulled away that this had worked, in fact they had simply gotten lucky. Victoria had at that point regained her bearings on Richard and he was of course of far greater importance, the old head off the snake symbolism. There he was, floating high in the air where he probably thought to get a moments reprieve. While in this gigai Victoria was indeed incapable of the flight higher level spirits could achieve that hardly left her helpless, it just required a bit of ingenuity. Still within the cloud of dust she threw one of her legs back and braced her other knee upon the ground while deciding exactly how to angle herself. A great deal of spirit energy built in her legs and then she pushed off, the force behind this instantly shattered the ground and sent a shockwave out that cleared the dust in a perfect circle around her. Victoria had essentially created a human cannon using spirit energy and the accompanying boom from the force was fitting.
Normally such a waste of spiritual energy would have been pointless as there were more efficient means but in this form it was the only answer. Plus while unwieldy and wasteful it also propelled Victoria at a far greater speed than she would otherwise be capable of, not to mention the obvious force behind it. In a split-second she had traveled the distance between them and in what seemed like slow motion they began to pass each other before she spun her body into a ball and brought her whole leg down into his chest. On any other day Richard would have been dead in an instant, today though his buying time had, as said, saved him and while the blow cracked his breastplate and likely did bad things to his body he survived. He was sent sailing into the ground where he bobbed and skipped across the dirt for several meters (a shorter distance than might otherwise have occurred due to the angle of attack) like a rock across a pond.
Of course Victoria knew full well that Richard had survived and was preparing to go finish this when a blast of yellow energy passed by her head. The speed with which it had formed and traveled the distance had taken her off-guard, especially since she had been focusing on finishing this quickly. She located the source and found the large mechanical construct that had been traveling from across the park was now below and firing upon her. Of all the individuals who had attacked her this day that blast had been the only one capable of doing any sort of damage to Victoria while in her gigai. She was more familiar with machines than most spirits having an affinity for technology but even so she'd certainly never had anything to do with a tank. Still when you dealt with Hollows for most of your life you got used to taking on unique situations you'd never experienced before, with that thought in mind she came crashing down next to Richard and looked to the tank.
She couldn't quite tell due to its construction but a momentary swell in its spiritual pressure (she would have to figure out how a machine could have spiritual pressure later) seemed to suggest it was about to fire. Thinking quickly Victoria kicked the prone Richard into the air and caught him upside down with one hand on his leg and the other on his shoulder and held him in front of her. Clearly it was either too late for the machine to stop, and something told Victoria it was to angry to care even if it had been and opened fire. The shell traveled between them in record time and slammed into Richards shoulder, Victoria released him so the force of the blow didn't travel through her and side-stepped so that he went cartwheeling backward to her left-flank. She then turned back toward the machine and while holding her head low, charged.
----------------------
High above the chaos that reigned below a single sleek vehicle hovered in still silence. It was a helicopter and a large one at that but its shape was more akin to a jet and despite its bulk it was organized in such a way that the profile it actually gave was far smaller. Where the other helicopters required stealth systems this one was stealth in its own right, no human detection method would ever find it and even without the usual spiritual systems (which it of course possessed as well) it could go unnoticed in its own right through methods not all to dissimilar to anti-radar detection. This was where the important information was, while perfectly capable of combat it had been tasked upon the Mistress Leina to act as an observation and relay station. This would normally not have been necessary but they had not known the full extent of the situation and it was through careful planning that the NWO continued to succeed against foes greater than itself.
It seemed this plan had not been without warrant either, they could never have expected this outcome. Some of the plan was going as expected but just as much of it had gone to hell, perhaps most disturbing of all was how quickly their primary and greatest force had been decimated. They had been waiting to pull Richard out of the fire but so far he seemed willing to try and do it himself and the crew of the Mistress Leina knew well enough how bad things could go if two people with two different plans tried to do the same thing without consulting the other, and so they waited. Meanwhile they observed the rest of the situations below, there was one equally worrisome battle taking place not far from Richards where quite few Elite soldiers were meeting their ends. Beyond that there were several other areas where the NWO weren't finding it so simple to cut the Brotherhood down, they might not all have been breaking the NWO's back like those two hot-zones but several were proving tougher than had been assumed. Whatever the case, whether it ranged from the good to the bad, little of it was going as it should have.
Then a spot of utterly unexpected and good news came forth. The inside of the Mistress Leina was not like a normal helo, it was more akin to a high altitude reconnaissance plane with its long fuselage populated by a number of displays and consoles instead of storage space. Where a single pilot (or two at most) could fly most helicopters it took a full team of four to operate the Mistress Leina, of course a single individual could pilot it but it was so highly advanced and included so many weapons and sensory platforms that it would have been impossible to utilize it to a full degree. It was one such sensory platform that had just located something interesting.
“Are we certain?” He asked.
“Within a 1.7% margin of error.” She responded.
He nodded and pulled up the com system, “Teams five and nine, teams five and nine, this is The Governor, respond.” There was a pause and then some garbled speech could be heard from the headset he was wearing, “Five and nine you are now assigned Codenames: Finder and Keeper respectively. Intellectual property has been found near your location and we are uploading coordinates now, you will rendezvous and then secure location. Be advised this is Class Seven sensitive, you are being given leave of class for duration of op but restrictions still apply, we will be hot-dropping a containment protocol near target, utilize for capture and then pull from battlezone immediately. Begin operation, “Get that shiny thing!”, contact me when you are on location.”
While the team gave affirmation he looked to the side of where he was sitting, on a nearby monitor was an enhanced image of a blade stuck point first into the roof of a nearby building. He smiled slightly to himself, he had been wanting a new coat, the requisition he could pull from this would certainly cover it. However he was brought out of his reverie when he was tapped on the shoulder and his first officer gave him a new data-feed. He looked it over, the situation in the park was going from bad to worse. The HALO storm was retreating, Richard was playing the fool and trying to escape on foot and now things in the other battlezone were going south quick, Elite's being eliminated left and right.
Now Reginald wasn't much of a team-player nor did he consider the NWO much of his friend. But he was a professional and he did love to fight in his Lady and Mistress. If Richard did not intend to call for aid then he would eliminate this other threat. And so he gave the word to take them down and the propellers that had until now been keeping them in constant hover-mode retracted, throwing them into free fall for a moment before the powerful engines attached to its underbelly and wings kicked in.

The Vizard had just given him an order. Of course Akabane understood the sensibility in him going after the helicopters (he knew what they were thanks to Victoria) but he was one of those old prideful spirits we talked about, almost to a childlike degree. His initial reaction was to just stare in an annoyed manner as Oketsu charged off and he seriously considered just letting the Vizard handle it himself. In the end though the realistic side won out and he realized that Victoria would no doubt have requested the same of him, which he would do. As such he viewed going after the enemy as Victoria's wish which he would fulfill, oh but make no mistake, he was going to claw Oketsu's eyes out when the man least expected it. Damn whipper snapper giving him orders, stupid annoying children thinking they knew what was best, grumble, grumble, hiss, hiss, are grumpy old man.

This was going better than they could have thought, at least thats what the pilots of the helicopters thought at first. Considering that this was their first real battle against a capable opponent it was to be expected that some losses would be taken, but from the air things seemed to be going rather well. Of course being on their own private frequency they were oblivious to how bad things were going elsewhere and that the overall operation was falling apart in places. But they quickly began to realize things weren't quite as they seemed, after dropping their assigned groups off they had pulled out to a safe distance to let them deal with the situation below but now they were losing contact with individuals at a rapid pace. Both pilots coordinated with one another to get a better look at the situation below and try to lock on to target while they called in three of the surrounding attack vehicles, that was when th co-pilot of AT22-B turned around.
"CAPTAIN!!! INCOMING PROJECTILE, FAST ONE!!!"
They had been taken by surprise and the captain didn't know how to respond, "WHERE?! WHAT DIRECTION?!" they looked wildly but couldn't spot from where it had been fired.
"SIR ITS...." The co-pilots face grew confused, “We lost the signature, maybe they missed?” He looked hopeful.
That was when a voice called out over the radio, “AT22-B, IT'S ON TOP OF YOU! SHAKE IT!”
The captain pulled hard on the stick but the last thing they saw before their vehicle went up in flames was the head of a white kitten peering over the top of the cockpit and looking in on them. As soon as this had occurred a red streak of energy shot from it straight to HK31-B. It had been too close at the time and had way to fire or maneuver as its tail was ripped off causing it to instantly nose-dive into the ground creating an explosion of significant size. The same red streak shot toward HK12-B but about halfway between when it looked like the attack vehicle was going to succumb to the same fate the small red streak exploded and was then sent hurtling to the ground. At the same time a silent but painfully fast black blur swung around overhead and then engaged hover mode to get a look at the situation. A voice called out in a loudspeaker to the ground below.
“Enemies of the NWO, this is the voice, OF GOD!!! FEAR ME AND OBEY!!! YOU CANNOT WIN!!! THE HONORABLE THING WOULD BE TO KILL YOURSELVES!!! SO WHAT YO-”
He was then interrupted by a voice in the background, “REGINALD! LATER!!!”
“Bah...fine...fine...” And then the voice disappeared, instead switching to the NWO channel.
“Hunter Killers 24, 56 and 17 of group B, you're on the little one. You know it's there now, don't get caught with your pants down again. Attack Transport 03 of group B, pull out and await further orders, we may need you to pull the survivors below out in a moment. I will handle the other target, be prepared for a further change of orders.” Several voices and flickering lights on his console flashed affirmative.
The Mistress Leina used its advanced equipment to lock on to Oketsu without having to be directly on him and this immediately whipped their nose around to bear down on him. Reginald concentrated for a moment and his spiritual energy began to spike, soon neural pathways that had hardly been active until that moment began pulsating with energy and as his influence spread so to did this occur in those piloting the craft with him. In five seconds they had gone from being another (if skilled) crew to a single organism, true they could still think for themselves and did not share specific thoughts but they knew exactly what the others were doing and never wasted time on inefficiency. Their opponents might have thought them just a more advanced vehicle, but they could never truly understand the complexity of what they were about to face.
And then a volley of small missiles was launched from the wings of the Mistress Leina right for Oketsu. And yet it was as if each had been perfectly calculated, either impacting him directly or cutting off a route he could have taken to escape, and at the same time done in such a way that none of the surviving soldiers were hit. Then by the time Oketsu had recovered the Mistress Leina was gone, once more engaging it's engines and stealth systems and disappearing into the sky.
