Bount
Name: Edrivian Adalwolf - Prefers to be called Edrian or Ed. The later only to close friends however.
Gender: Male
Age: Looks to be in his early twenties, actual age is 347
Physical Description:
Edrian is a man of roughly 6 feet of height with a slim build and sharp features adorning his face. He has chin to ear-length dark blue/black hair that hangs loosely down the sides of his head and over his neck while it forms a bang over his left eye that covers it for the most part. His purple eyes seem to carry power behind them, however his vacant laid-back look he usually sports might dull this impression immensely for most. His skin-tone is that of an average Caucasian person, maybe surprisingly so seeing how he spends most of his days reading indoors.
Edrians typical dress-code is on the slightly odd side, in a way one could say his mind is still stuck to his days in Germany, though it could merely be him liking the style. Though he's done some obvious modernizations to it over the years. Edrians main piece of clothing is a flowing hoodless grey robe with a neck-high collar and a lighter shade of gray lining the edges of the robe. Strapped on-top of the robe Edrian has a number of leather belts that keep the robe firm to his body while also providing additional space for carrying objects as he can easily hook small bags to the belts that goes from his left shoulder all the way to his thighs in a stylish manner. Edrian then wears brown leather gloves that fit firmly to his thin piano fingers and also brown leather boots that go nearly up to his kneecaps, that are held firmly in place with straps that go up the side of the boots. Over all of this Edrian tends to carry a piece of dark purple cloth that looks like a mix between a scarf and a cape, being wrapped around his neck loosely while hanging down over his right shoulder and back, while a hood hangs out on his back.
Personality: Despite being a Bount who has lived for over three hundred years Edrian is a kind hearted man who looks after those close to him and will do anything to protect them should it become a necessity. However he is extremely lazy and laidback, making him seem very unreliable when it comes to performing tasks or following orders usually only doing it to the bare minimum if he even does it at all, although this is merely when he does not see a grand reason behind it as for him the only thing worth truly fighting for is the life of himself or others. Thus, Edrian is a person that will never kill an opponent unless he for some reason has to but even then it is usually by mistake if he is forced to become serious in a battle as he values the lives of people above anything else.
Unlike most Bount, Edrian carry no hatred for the Shinigami in general, and he can easily get along with any humans, mod souls or quincy as long as they accept him, but of course this very casual look on things has gotten him in trouble with the more old fashioned Bount. Though laid back and lazy, Edrian is very carefull with his manners whenever he speaks with someone, especially if it is the first time he meets them, but when taking it easy he is also prety outspoken.
When Edrian is forced into a fight he tends to hold back a lot, never really starting a fight seriously as he doesn't like fighting in general, prefering a good book over a brawl. But should he be forced into one he will always summon his doll and usually toys a little with his opponent by copying their abilities and using them against them, though if he can avoid it he never kills without reason.
History:
Edrian was born to the middle-class Adalwolf family during the 1660's Germany, and named as Edrivian after his grandfather who had perished during the wars leading up to the Peace of Westphalia period of the countries history. Growing up in a family of varying trades Edrian had a good childhood where he got proper education and early on got a fascination with books. As he grew in years he began to study in a nearby university, aiming to become a teacher himself as he loved to learn and share what he learned with others.
When he was eighteen years of age he was introduced to the eldest daughter of one of their families many friends, and they were immediately infatuated with each others and married one year later as Edrian was in the late stages of his studies. Roughly one year later Edrian had finished his studies and moved to a neighboring town with his new wife as he was employed in the local school where he began teaching children to early teens in all manner of subjects, having a very wide range of knowledge from reading on his free-time. Being a very open-minded individual Edrian wasn't as strict as most teachers and often earned the respect of those he taught while being looked down on by the elderly teachers, but who still had too accept him for his knowledge.
Though it was not apparent to everyone else, Edrian noticed fairly early that he seemed to stop aging altogether once he got to roughly 24 years of age, as he began to notice strange... Apparitions... Around him, blurs in the air and sometimes he felt like he could see transparent images of people. As time went on these appearances became more common and clear for him, until he began to see spirits completely once he was nearly thirty years old while still looking to be in his early twenties. At the time this was quite astounding for most people and he had noticed those whom he spent a lot of time with had become suspicious of him, and the fact him and his wife had never had any children surely did not help the rumours...
In the end Edrian decided it was best for them both if he left, whatever happened on his journey he did not think she deserved more hardships that the road would bring and so after a short farewell he left in the cover of the night and never returned. Though he's long put it behind him he has never forgotten this time, and while he realizes he was ignorant at the time, he was happy.
Edrians travels brought him far and wide, though he kept to Germany at the time and it was there he met a man who called himself Krieger. Edrian could immediately tell there was something special about him, and apparently Krieger felt the same as he recognized Edrian as a fellow Bount. Krieger told Edrian of his heritage, but being the learned man he was he did not wish to believe in such fairy-tales, though he did not turn down Krieger's company when he asked if it was alright to come along for the journey. According to Krieger they had all the time in the world. It was nearly a year after this that Edrian got to witness the power of Krieger's Doll for the first time, and though he had a hard time to accept it he eventually came to adapt to the idea of who he truly was, and asked Krieger to tell him everything.
At this time Krieger brought Edrian to a compound of Bount who had gathered for the company of those who could understand them and though Edrian was taught all the essentials of a Bount he really disliked the way they looked at normal humans or other spirits, it just seemed so prejudiced... In the end though he came to learn a lot from them and even though it took nearly two decades he finally managed to summon his Doll, though the results were not quite what he had been expecting.
Taking the form of a book Edrian's Doll would make most people think it might be a "wise sage" type, but it turned out to be the complete opposite as the very first thing it started doing was yelling at Edrian for waking it while it was having "such a goddamn good nap you piece of shit", and though they started off on the wrong foot and still can't quite be said to get along that well Edrian and Geheimnis learned to respect each others somewhat and have become quite good at putting their differences aside when it truly matters, though their opinions still differ greatly on a lot of things and Geheimnis is always quick to point this out.
Edrian stayed at the Bount compound for roughly ten more years but by then had gotten fed up with the other bounts views that had shifted from prejudiced to outright hate to the Shinigami, he then left them and once again began to travel around the world leaving Germany for the very first time in his life as he sought out places of great learning, picking up a dozen different languages along the way and also some abilities for Geheimnis. After a long time Edrian ended up in Japan, and while the Island Country was still pretty hostile to outsiders at this point Edrian's powers made him able to stay out of harms way, and though he would normally have left right away the large spiritual presence in the island country intrigued him and he stayed to study it.
Now several decades later he lives as a close contact of the Brotherhood, working as a form of emissary with a group of Bount that lives near Tokyo.
Additional Info:
Though most Bount of his level possess super-human strength and resilience, all Edrian really possess is agility and reflexes which might be due to his power based Doll. Carries a basic combat knife under his robe with a one foot long blade and a basic handle and guard, nothing especially fancy about it at all actually, though it has it's uses.
Name: Geheimnis (Secret)
Power Level: 2 - Below Average
Physical Appearance: Geheimnis is a book, plain and simple. The doll takes the shape of a fairly small book, about one decimeter tall, fairly thin but with a good number of pages filled with random stuff that the Doll decides to put there, usually switching it out from time to time out of boredome. The cover of the book is in a normal looking purple color, with no specific markings of any kind making it look very normal, however the 'slit' which covers a large part of the books spine, which is in actuallity its mouth, stands out.
Though it is rarely done Geheimnis is capable of a limited form of flight, usually only used when someone manages to knock the book out of Edrian's hands. This takes the form of the book being nearly fully opened as it has it's cover facing upwards with the many pages inside the book fluttering about underneath it. The reason this is so rarely done is mostly due to how much of an advantage it is in a fight should someone 'disarm' Edrian as he loses the abilities of the Doll when not in near-contact with it, and them expecting to have won by getting it out of his hands.
Personality: Bad Mannered. Thats about all you would need to know about Geheimnis, the book is bad mannered, ill tempered and has a knack for insulting people for no reason. He lacks manners, respect and even morals, sometimes even shouting for someones death if he is really upset, though Edrian has learned not to listen to the crazy talking book. However due to Edrian's lazy and laidback nature the book tends to get really upset at him as well, and usually lectures him about it, sometimes in the middle of a fight, though its usually the kind of "use this ability!" and being, for Edrian, generally annoying.
Seal: "Scheige Dich, Geheimnis."
The seal of Geheimnis takes the form of an old looking bookmark, in the form of a golden tassel. And though Edrian always carries it with him, it tends to be inside one of the many books he usually carries around.
Abilities: Einsicht sind Schwere - Knowledge is Power
Description: Knowledge is Power is Geheimnis ability which, when utilized by both it and Edrian, can be used to 'steal' an enemies attacks or powers for a limited time. The way it works is that Edrian observes a power or ability being used, and gaining a basic understanding of how it works and what it does. Then through a psychic link between the two, only utilized for this power, that information is transfered to Geheimnis who 'makes more sense' of it and actually binds that knowledge into power and stores it on one of his many pages, usually the page open at the time of the 'stealing'. However this is under normal circumstances just temporary, lasting for a few hours depending on the power itself, there is a way to permanenly seal the ability into the book.
The way this is done, is for Edrian to perform a certain ritual on the body of a dead or dying foe of which he has copied an ability, and if the foe is dying, the ritual will kill them. The ritual itself takes about two hours to perform, using the victims blood to bind their power to his in a real 'evil ritual' fashion, which might explain why he barely if ever performs it. To use an ability, permanent or not, Edrian flips to the abilities page and concentrates for a moment, before he either closes the book or keeps it open if he so feels like it. After that he can freely use that particular ability until he wants to change to another or has to re-seal Geheimnis for whatever reason. Swapping abilties costs 1% of his reiatsu.
Restrictions: Geheimnis can only hold three temporary abilities at one time, these are not restricted to being from just one person and can be taken from many. However the actual copying process takes a fair share of reiatsu itself so its unwise to copy everything he sees even if its not truly useful. And there are obvious restrictions toward abilities that require something physical to function, though in general, abilities need to be taken on a case-by-case basis.
Other Characters: Zhiel Azerin/Kalverian Kehieleth, Richard Mallory, Jessica Mallory.
Roleplay Sample: The city of Helsinki, the capital of Finland was a beautiful place with plenty of sights for a tourist to see. With it's varied houses and architecture every street had something unique to offer for those who enjoyed such. That which stood out amongst all the other houses however were the Cathedral that stood near the cities port, standing high above the other three-to-five story buildings around it with it's clean white walls and jade-colored dome towers. It was atop this very building that a tired but restless looking figure lay, beside the large spire in the buildings center the man who looked to be in his late teens, clothed in black clothing that had become torn at the edges and a few other places, reminiscent of a shinigami's robe and yet different. There were some signs of bleakened gold embroidery at the torn edges, but it almost seemed like if that had been purposefully ripped off...
There were however far more outstanding traits for this man, in particular the broken mask which covered nearly half of his face left side, it's surface a clean white much like the building itself, while it had deep purple colored markings that seemed to slither out of the eye-socket and near the chin. Though closed at the moment the eye behind the mask was a golden color, while the other was emerald green. The man had sharp features making up his face, with shoulder-length white almost silvery hair that covered parts of his face currently as he laid there unmoving. He had a slim but muscular build, however like with his face there seemed to be something wrong with the rest of his body as well as his left arm was covered in the same white carapace, forming claws on his hand and armor-like protrusions along the 'upp' side of his arm all the way up to the shoulder where it seemed about to grow into a spiked shoulder-guard. Though most of the rest were covered, it was clear he also had growths along the left side of his chest and along his spine on his back. As well as on the lower portion of his right leg. He almost looked like an Arrancar in ressurection, however the sheated blade next to him, and the lack of a visible hole seemed to dismiss this theory. No, he was something else entirely... He was Zhiel Azerin, former third seat of tenth division and currently the host for Kalverian Kehieleth, the sixth Vasto Lorde.
Why was he at such a place? That was a question he himself could not answer. Ever since he regained control of his body he had tried to find something, someone who could help him. He was afraid, no doubt about that, but it was not for his own damned soul but for what the hollow that was corrupting his soul would do once it achieved full dominance. What it had already done when it had used his body sickened him, but he had to fight it somehow... The Masked Syndicate had been unable to help him, rather the hollows emergence during the time had most likely doomed any hope he might have had of their help. And it had been made clear to him right away that his condition was unique... Him, unlike them, had taken in an outside hollow, rather than an inner one being awakened. In the end, he had come here because he had felt drawn to this place. But now once here, it was like if the feeling had disappeared. Yet he could not feel any drive to leave this place behind just yet...
During his week of being in this city Azerin had observed a few things occuring, what was probably of most interest to someone of his kind was the sudden increase in spiritual activity in the area, it had been abnormally high when he first came here, but since then it had only increased. It would not surprise him if Soul Society sent someone to investigate soon, thus he had to lay low or leave... It was surprising he had yet to be tracked down by the second divisions agents, but he should probably be thankfull for that... Knowing Yun the captain would most likely want to personally take charge of it, and he did not have the heart to face the man he respected the most, after what he had become...
There were more than just spiritual activity here however, the reason for the increased spiritual activity could very well have been caused by the sudden amount of spiritually aware, or at least people with powerful souls, arriving in the city. Of those he had observed he saw no co-relation, they all seemed separate of one another and most did not even seem to be able to see spirits despite their far larger than normal reiatsu pools. Yet there was something... Unsettling... About them, perhaps it was just he who felt this, it was like his soul was resonating, and it made him feel tense. In the midst of this, he could not help but have a bad feeling, something bad was about to happen and yet he had no idea of what and that annoyed him... Without much thought he reached out and grasped the sheath of Hitozarai as he lifted the katana up infront of him. "You wouldn't happen to know anything, would you?" As he'd expected his only response was silence... "Heh.. Yeah, I guess I'm just being paranoid..." He said to himself as he put the sword back down beside him once again. Something would happen in this city, but only one 'person' knew what.

List of the Sealed
07/10
#1 Mirage - Hollow Power
Mirage is a simple camoflauge power Edrian has stolen from a regular hollow. Though the power is simple, its very usefull when not wanting to be discovered as it makes the user blend in with his background and becoming near invisible when standing still. However the mirage is disrupted when moving, making him easy to notice but hard to actually follow with ones eyes. When using this Edrian tends to minimize his reiatsu output so that he is near impossible to find with ones senses. Costs roughly 2% to activate and then an additional % of his reiatsu to sustain per twenty seconds.
#2 Enkosen(Arc Shield) - Shinigami Bakudo #39
Summons a shield of condensed reiatsu to block opponents' attacks. When used by Edrian is able to block attack kido up to number 59 and their equivalents. Costs roughly 3% of his reiatsu to use, and an additional % to sustain it against each attack that can do damage to it.
#3 Hirenkyaku - Quincy Skill
A technique that allows the user to move quickly, similar to Flash step. To perform this technique, the user gathers spirit particles under their feet and can ride on them for long distances. Costs roughly 2% to use this ability as it is not a natural power of his and is normally only possible by the Quincy "race".
#4 Sōren Byakurai(Twin White Lightning) - Shinigami Hadou #41
A technique created by a Kido Specialist who Edrian encountered one day, and unfortunately died in a hollow attack.
But before then he was able to copy this technique and then performed the ritual on the mans body.
Soren Byakurai is, just like Soren Sokatsui a technique that essentially combines it with itself, but rather than with the Sokatsui variation, Soren Byakurai becomes excessively more powerful as the second bolt whirls around the first adding more impact damage and a drill-like effect to the point. Costs roughly 6% reiatsu to use this hadou which is fired from his hand.
#5 Fiery Fury - Hollow Power
A simple but fairly powerful hollow ability, which Edrian performs by gathering the sufficient reiatsu to his lungs before he breaths out, sending bellowing flames out in a wide arc that spreads and continues forward almost flowing on the ground for up to forty meters if he continues blowing it, however this requires him to be standing on flat ground. It is very inaccurate in the air however, as the flames quickly fall toward the ground, like liquid fire. Initial contact is not very bad unless the target is weak to fire, but staying in it is a very very bad idea even for those with resistance to fire and heat. Initial cost is about 5% of his reiatsu, while continuously expelling the fire will drain up to 5% more depending on the time spent.
#6 Shitotsu Sansen(Beak-Stab Triple Beam) - Shinigami Bakudo #30
Forming a golden triangle with one's fingers, it shoots three beams of light that pin the target to one place on a surface, optimally slamming into the targets body at three places in a shape of a perfect triangle. Edrian closes Geheimnis as he holds his arms out and turns them in the shape of a triangle, as the kido forms before him. Costs roughly 5% of his reiatsu, the 'beams' travel at roughly cero speed, thus they are not hard to dodge should one be expecting them.
#7 Cero - Menos Ability
High-powered energy blasts that can be fired from various body parts, such as mouth, tongue, hand or fingers. Edrian holds up Geheimnis in-front of him with the book opened and aimed where he wishes to fire the cero, before it is charged from within the book and then fired as a fairly large beam of red energy. The beam starts at roughly a meter wide and fires in a thin cone-like shape and after traveling roughly twenty meters will have become four meters wide. Costs 10% of his total reiatsu to use but is his most powerful attack.
