Tsuno's heavy breathing slowed back to normal and his moderately depleted reiryoku reserves from his earlier hado attack were for the most part restored to a reasonably high level suitable for a captain to be able to fight near full capacity. It really wasn't that Tsuno was too injured or tired out, but in order to fight at full strength with his bankai, it would have been a grievous hazard to confront an opponent who had already proven to be highly dangerous without being fully prepared. The Second Division Captain took to his feet, and folded his discarded apparel which was then quickly dropped off at the nearest hiding spot with his agents for safekeeping until later. Tsuno quickly hurried back to the battlefield where Makkuro's barrier shattered releasing a large twister of raging wind.
So, Shiboo-kun has the situation under control as long as I keep Abelardo from escaping the tornado?
The strategy sounded simple enough in planning, but in practice various factors would prove to make the task challenging. One, the smoke from the abundance of fire attacks during the conflict and the collection of sense-dampening fog that made up the funnel cloud made it rather challenging to tell what was happening inside the storm, where the combatants inside were located and if Abelardo was attempting to escape. Fortunately, the blue glow of the arrancar's fiery pillar helped point out his location however if the beacon was only a decoy to distract Tsuno's attention from Abelardo's actual location was yet to be known to the would-be "jailer." Another challenge was the fact that Tsuno particularly would prefer to stay outside the tornado in order to keep Abelardo inside, which would require he be able to attack the arrancar if he did attempt to escape without being pulled in by the wind itself. Despite Tsuno's incredibly light build, hopefully he'd be able to attack with one end of his zanpakuto into the tornado and anchor himself safely with the other. If all things went according to plan, Shiboo-kun and himself would be able to defeat Abelardo and turn to aid Shimizu-san against her opponent in just a short while.
Outside the tornado, Tsuno's reiatsu began to peak and in a large explosion of energy he emerged carrying his bankai, Hinute Lotomasa. Consisting of a pair of large kanabo clubs connected at the butt-ends of the handles by a thick, heavy chain and sporting a triad of large curved blades at the tips, this weapon was definitely intended for heavy, direct combat. It was therefore unusual for the captain to have his bankai activated and then sit by and wait, but if it was what needed to be done, then Tsuno would abide by Makkuro's plan unless the situation was dire enough for him to have to take matters into his own hands.

The barrier collapsing into just a tornado was….well to be blunt, disappointing. He got himself all prepped up for something horribly destructive, and he gets a wind storm. Typical. As the tornado sucked all the flames up, he decided to stop bothering with the fire barrier – it had served it’s use to deflect the weaker shots while he prepared himself, and he needed to take a more hands on approach with these two.
“Keep me from running? Someone’s grown quite a pair! Want to come down here and say that to my face?”
Still cloaked in flames, Abelardo turned to where he could sense that ninja captain waiting, and decided to kill two birds with one stone. Taking a step forward, he vanished in a burst of sonido, reminding the wind captain that he wasn’t in any way slow, paying no heed to the wind bullets flying about. Oddly enough though, Abelardo seemed a bit….bigger than he was before. Or maybe it was a trick of the flames…..

“Well, well, are you surprised?”
Hovering above the wreckage of the skyscraper, Caroline was lazily firing a barrage of water orbs at Rin, even as the water funnel died down, flooding the streets below. Her new resurrection look was certainly unexpected considering her previous clothing; she was dressed as a pirate captain, white shirt, blue pants and jacket, even a blue pirate hat with the skull and crossbones symbol on top. The clothes combined with her childish size would have been comical if she wasn’t currently firing exploding water bombs at Rin. She wasn’t sure just how much damage they would deal, but considering that the blasts of water were reaching the roof, it was probably best not to find out.
“Run, run as fast you can! It’s always better when they put up a-“
Whatever else Caroline was going to say was cut off as a shot of kido connected with one of her water bombs at close range, the subsequent pillar of water blocking her view. She quickly moved aside, firing shots wildly, but in that time Rin had charged right at her, cutting down the few orbs coming her way and flash stepping right at Caroline, who watched in shock as Rin’s sword came within an inch of her heart.
“What?”
Rin’s sword was literally only an inch from piercing Caroline, and stuck there, along with Rin, by what could only be described as a net of water, stretched to the limit.
“That was too close; I underestimated how springy this thing could get. Ah well, you live and learn.”
“Just how do you make a net of water!”
“Surface tension. And it’s more of a web really, thus you sticking to it.”
Caroline was quite certain that Rin was not amused by her answer, which just made things even better, especially considering what was coming next. “Watching you stuck here is fun, but time for you to go. Happy landings!”
The web shot back, throwing Rin off at insane speeds and sending her through multiple buildings before she crashed into the ground floor of a building a few meters away. Said building was promptly blown to pieces, sending the rubble crashing down on her.
“Getting buried isn’t so funny now, is it?”
Fortunately, the barrier decided to collapse into a gigantic tornado, tearing the buildings within its reach to pieces and blowing all of the wreckage off of Rin. Of course, she could have easily gotten herself out, but still, it saved some time, which she would need to get out before she got swept away….or the tornado took her hat off. Rin watched with a blank stare as her only hat, that was an almighty pain in the neck to make, got swept away with the rubble, likely to never be seen again.
Hmm, I feel sorry for Makkuro, he’s going to get dumped.
Yeah, in a ditch somewhere most likely.
Caroline had long since left the tornado, hanging out at the edge of the storm. Specifically, she was standing on a building close by Tsuno, waiting for her opponent to come charging out for her. She felt no interest in fighting within those winds, and at least being in close proximity to the ninja should limit her attacks.
That said, when she felt his reiatsu start to rise, as he released his bankai, Caroline saw it in her partner’s best interest to at least keep him from getting sneak attacked by…were those giant clawed clubs? She expected something more ninja-like from him. Before she could react though, she noticed a gigantic mass of reiatsu heading her way, just before she was carried off by a gigantic beam of electricity, screaming all the way. A few seconds later, Rin walked out of the tornado following the path of destruction, the eyebrow twitch of annoyance in full swing, as she had on something far too close to a slasher smile.
Tsuno had his own concerns though, as Abelardo jumped out of the raging tornado, larger than life. Really, his armor was considerably larger and thicker than before, and he looked all the more imposing for it, despite the dents covering various parts of his body. Tsuno acted quickly, swinging a kanabo club at Abelardo, but the attempt to knock him back was less effective than expected. Specifically, the walking suit of armor simply grabbed the club with a molten hand, the metal spreading around the club as he pulled on it. Tsuno was quite uncooperative, his other club keeping him firmly anchored to the ground, as the two engaged in a game of tug-of war.
Alberado was a patient man, but he wasn’t in the mood to play with the ninja right now, sending a stream of flame to convince him to loosen his grip. When Tsuno took the attack without so much as flinching, he lost all pretence of patience, and scaled up his assault; he gripped the club with both hands, pulling it backwards with his full strength with the intention of tossing Tsuno right into the center of the storm. And just to make sure that he got thrown, he opened his mouth again, a crimson orb of energy charging within. The captain could ignore his fire, but Abelardo doubted that he could ignore a cero to the face. As a bonus, on the off chance he tanked it, the blast would destroy the ground the other club was anchored to anyway.

"Hey Abelardo! You forgot about me, you arrogant son of a bitch!"
Makkuro shouted out as he overed over the tornado, holding his blade in both hands as it had finished charging a Tsukisasu completely. Closing his eyes, he let his body center itself and knew that the tornado would soon drop away into nothing and this was his last chance; the winds had already picked up to their maximum speed and there were at least seven more tsukisasus bouncing around inside of the tornado. He watched them spin round and round and thought about what was about to happen.
Thank you Tsuno....I hope none of these catch you by mistake
Makkuro muttered inside of his own mind as he moved back into the center of the tornado; only now becoming aware that Rin had been flung by some sort of attack into the center of the Tornado and was next to him. He looked at her for a moment and felt his blood run cold at the fact that her hat was blown away and by the creepy smile on her face. Despite being in the middle of a battle and ready to finish off his hated enemy, he still felt more afriad of her wrath than anything else and swore to himself he'd get that hat back before anything happened to it. He noted it was hovering at the top of the tornado high above any of the current wind blades, letting out a deep sigh, he felt the winds beginning to die down and stuck his blade into the tornado letting himself build up speed and power as he was taken round and round. He was just at the edge of feeling dizzy when he flashed-stepped out of the tornado and the winds dropped sending the remaining seven tsukisasu's screaming immediately toward Abelardo's back, legs and his neck.
"Die, you stupid son of a bitch!"
Makkuro screamed as he appeared in front of Abelardo, his entire body traveling at the rate of speed that the tornado had slung him. He had been glad he'd flash stepped behind Tsuno otherwise this tactic wouldn't have worked as he noted the cero just beginning to form in the monster's mouth when he unleashed his slash straight at his mouth and into the red cero ball. Immediately following the release of the slash, he flash stepped again, diving down to catch Rin's hat before it could even touch the ground and breathed a heavy sigh of relief glad that no damage had come to it what so ever. He turned and took in Caroline's appearance at that point....a...pirate?
"What the hell kind of arrancar turns into a pirate!?"

((Im sorry this took me so long to post. Getting ready to move and getting settled into university's been really busy for me for the past bit.))
Waiting for some sort of sign, Tsuno's attention was distracted momentarily when he was able to sense Caroline's presence nearby, likely hiding from Rin's onslaught while trying to keep taps on the Second Squad captain in hopes he wouldn't be sneaking up on her. It was a reasonable attitude, Tsuno knew that facing someone like Rin head-on would likely result in dire consequences for anyone that stupid when the Thirteenth Squad captain was serious about her battle, as well as it was fairly well understood that Second Squad was most dangerous when not to be found. Unfortunately, that moment of distraction allowed Tsuno to get more than he asked for when the released Abelardo burst from the funnel cloud, lunging for him. Not that he was particularly startled, however the brief moment of delay was enough to make his initial counterattack a tad sloppy by his standards and the large weapon was deflected off of the arrancar's armour which seemed to be different from when he initially released his powers. Perhaps there was some sort of reaction to the strong winds to feed his fire-based reiatsu or maybe it was just his own naturally molten, warping form that posed a greater threat the longer he remained in his true form.
Grabbing hold of the end of Hinute Lotomasa, Abelardo's lava-like metallic hand began to tug and mold around Tsuno's bankai and try to drag him into Makkuro's tornado with him. Despite being firmly anchored to the ground, and being far stronger in terms of physique than he appeared, Tsuno was unable to hold his ground for long and was slowly but steadily being drawn in. Luckily, Tsuno had lots of experience dealing with fire thanks to his own zanpakuto being fire-element so Abelardo's immolation attempts were less effective than he'd hoped but the sudden massive yanking did its job of nearly uprooting the captain's anchor and the sudden charging of cero made it clear that Tsuno was not going to just sit around and hold his position for any more that he already had so far. Tsuno, eager to avoid Abelardo's direct energy blast aimed for his face, decided it'd best if he were to unleash one of his bankai's special attacks. Asides from bludgeoning and shredding, Hinute Lotomasa was also able to launch its blades with extremely volatile force if Tsuno desired so. While the blades were capable of launching regularly, given Abelardo's grip it would be useless unless Tsuno actually did decide to go all out with at least some of his blades, causing them to ignite and burn within the arrancar's arm which was melted around the weapon. Suddenly two of the blades launched, still attached to the arrancar's arm which pushed him back deep into the storm, dragging Tsuno along with a pair of attached chains that quickly melted before the blades exploded like a pair of missiles.
It wasn't clear how much damage the attack could have done to Abelardo thanks to his molten-body but surely it probably did enough to ensure that if Tsuno needed to, he'd be able to finish his enemy with his remaining four blades, three on the formerly anchored end and one left on the free end. However, despite not being certain how it damaged the arrancar, Makkuro was fortunately there to join in with the onslaught to possibly interrupt the cero and give Tsuno the chance to accommodate to the windstorm around them all.

Abelardo was completely caught unawares when some chains on the club he was holding onto suddenly shot forward, propelling him back into the tornado. He did end up dragging the other captain along for the ride, but then the offending blades, already quite annoyingly stuck in his arm, proceeded to explode on him. This captain certainly liked his bombs. It went without saying that Abelardo was not happy about the damage to his right arm either.
Then to add on more injury, the cero that Abelardo was about to fire exploded prematurely in a spectacular fashion when a blade of wind slammed into his mouth, momentarily blinding him, as the other shots peppered his body. The combined explosions did well to cloud him in smoke and dust, albeit temporarily as the tornado swept all the debris that he didn’t melt away.
Both captains could see that their attacks were actually showing visible effectiveness now. The areas where Makkuro’s shots had landed were completely cut open, gashes in the armor visible, molten metal flowing out of the wounds. Far more noticeable though was Abelardo’s right arm, or what was left of it; everything from just above the elbow was missing, the remaining stump dripping metal freely to the ground. Even without any lungs, the rapid ripples flowing through the molten spirit’s body spoke of just how affected he was from the battle, but it also spoke of a growing storm, as the temperature started to climb drastically.
“You worthless rodents….to think that you could injure me….to actually think that you could beat me…I’ll kill you,I’llkillyoui’llkillyoui’llkillyoui’llkillyoui’llkillyoui’llkillyoui’llkillyou!!!!!!”[/b]
As if responding to his rage, Abelardo’s body exploded with reiatsu, streams of molten metal erupting from various points all around him, the streams not directly aimed at the captains rushing forward before exploding into molten meteors, resembling the scene of a volcano erupting. Abelardo wasn’t even visible anymore, just a mass of metal and reiatsu, the raging winds of the tornado whipping the smaller blobs of metal into shards of semi-molten metal, raging around the tornado and threatening to shred the captains to pieces if the larger metal streams and meteors didn’t kill them first.

Makkuro's only reaction was to immediately to charge backwards away from Abelardo as his Bankai form faded away and returned him back to his sealed state. He cursed that aspect of his weapon now as he charged about the battlefield getting as far away from Abelardo as possible as quickly as possible. He didn't need to be a genius to know that getting hit by any of those objects would be a bad, bad idea. However, his only thoughts remained on insuring that Rin's hat didn't receive any damage; he was soon darting back and forth with his blade against his side bouncing roughly against his hip and the hat pressed gently against his chest. Suddenly, he turned panting covered in ash and soot. He had been careful to use his sword hand to avoid getting any on Rin's hat, then with all the grace he could muster. Flashstepped as far from the battlefield as possible, handed the hat to one of the gate guards who looked at him bewildered with a look of question on his face.
"That's Captain Shimizu's hat....take damn good care of it or she'll kill you."
The guard gulped immediately giving a smart salute before watching the tattered Captain zip away back toward whatever battle he was a part of right now. As Makkuro returned to the battlefield, he sighed knowing he was about useless right now and could only look down at Abelardo as he spewed out like a volcano. There was little to nothing he could do right now, his sword would have to remain sealed and his kidou were about useless on this behemoth...unless....Makkuro was suddenly hit with a realization that the beast was severly injuried so maybe his kidou wouldn't be so useless anymore.
"Prisms of light focus into the night sky. Form the boundless cage of purifying light! Hado 47! Gaki Rekko!"
Makkuro yelled out as he launched the eight beams of light equivalent to a cero towards Abelardo whom was hidden inside of his mass of metal. He hoped it would be enough to end this battle once and for all.
