His eyes are large and bright blue in color. His smile is wide and his teeth perfectly straight and white. Zero has medium length brown hair that he leaves tied back with a white headband.
Zero wears a mainly white hooded robe similar to ones boxers wear out to the ring before a fight with the hood being all crimson. Black pants and white/black gloves with a set of steel plates running across the knuckles, Zero always looks ready for a fight.
Personality
Zero is the prototypical alpha male, Cocky, arrogant and prideful. He has supreme confidence in himself and an ego to match. Zero is argumentative and extremely competitive. Loves physical activities, and loves gambling almost as much. He has a casual and upbeat manner about him at most times, he can be deadly serious if the situation calls for it. Though sarcasm comes naturally to him and he enjoys making observational humor even at the worst of times.
To his friends he is loyal even if somewhat rough around the edges. Zero is known to tell a few jokes, though they’re usually at someone else’s expense. He finds weakness displayed by males disgusting. And thus deems it his duty to ridicule those who display it.
Zero enjoys his work with the brotherhood. He finds it invigorating and fulfilling in a way prize fighting never was. The challenge and anticipation of fighting and being able to protect the world in the process is what he lives for, and the forces of las noches provide him with a seemingly endless supply of powerful opponents. Zero is an outspoken supporter of sovereignty of the humans on earth. Believing the forces they have is more than sufficient to deal with the hollows and that the shinigami should stay in soul society and only out of sheer desperation and with much lamentation would he work with the shinigami.
While Zero is not actually the dumb jock he appears to be, he sometimes gives off that impression to people at first given his admittedly large predisposition to anything involving fighting and lack of manners. He is rather quick witted though he doesn’t boast his brain as being one of his strong points even though it has been his brain and not his brawn that have saved his life on more than one occasion.
In combat Zero is focused and serious, though he is known to taunt and insult his foes. He is more of a balanced fighter who doesn’t excel in one area of skill over the others. He is smart and crafty, able to improvise to find ways to turn the odds in his favor. But his main love is to exchange and go blow for blow with strong opponents. The excitement of putting your life on the line and the pain that comes with it. He is addicted to that feeling. He wears his scars and bruises like badges of honor and is quick to recall….IN DETAIL his previous battles..
History:
Zero grew up in a lower middle class home with his mother and father. Though they were not poor, the family had little of life’s luxuries. Zero grew up in a very Spartan environment. His father ran the house with an iron fist but was a generally good hearted and honest man though he made Zero follow a strict set of rules during his youth, including numerous chores and an emphasis on his studies. Studies never appealed to him all that much making Zero’s school life dull and he spent most his days chasing girls and playing just about every sport they offered. His marks were above average but nothing special, his report cards always said that he was full of potential but needed to apply himself more with his schoolwork. He didn’t.Zero was too busy being the captain of the football, wrestling and soccer teams and being the ever popular jock socialist that he was.
Zero’s father was a retired army intelligence officer and an ex-marine at which time he held the bases boxing championship back to back years before that. After he was forcefully retired, he opened a fairly successful boxing gym and would spend a few hours training Zero one on one every day since the boy was five. By age twelve he had begun fighting in junior competition and winning his weight classes championship for his age bracket. A belt he successfully defended until he was 14 and had to give it up and move into the next division. He quickly won the championship there as well. Zero found that though he was a talented boxer he was uninterested in competing in the sport as he found it unexciting and limiting in his skills as a fighter. It was during this time while Zero watching TV at a friends, he watched his first mixed martial arts event. Falling instantly in love with the sport, he brought home the video from his friend’s house and showed it to his father and told him that this was what he wanted to do. His father knew there was no dissuading Zero and wanted to be involved in his son’s career as he believed the boy was a natural born fighter with potential to be a champion. Zero’s father, using the monies earned from Zero and his other fighters bouts and the flux of newcomers to the gym and hired a few other coaches from different martial arts backgrounds and changed his gym into an mma gym. As well as being his manager and agent. Zero’s father still worked with beginners on their cardio, boxing and weight training. But others ran the other aspects of training.
Zero fought his first amateur mixed martial arts fight at the age of 15 and since regularly competed in amateur boxing, Maui Thai, Jiu-Jitsu and wrestling competitions as well since beginning his training, taking him all over the world and making him a semi celebrity as everyone in the press associated him as the next big thing in combat sports. With good reason, in each sport individually as well as mixed martial arts Zero went undefeated through his entire amateur career which ended at 18 after literally hundreds of bouts.
As Zero prepared to make the change to professional competition. His management team had secured him a fight against a former champion who was widely regarded as one of the sports best but had recently been out of action due to injury and was preparing to make a comeback run for a title and wanted to use the hype surrounding the young and undefeated amateur and use him as a stepping stone to achieve that goal. Zero however had other ideas.
He trained like never before, feeling a vast strength building within him that he himself could not explain. Though his trainers and father were astonished at this unprecedented leap in progression, they wrote it off as the boy coming of age and growing into a terrifyingly strong young man. Not to mention their expert tutelage.
Pushing past all his previous limits daily wanting to prove himself on the world stage, and to shut the mouth of the former champ he was to be fighting. As even before the ink on the contract they signed could dry. He went on an all out verbal assualt on Zero to the press saying the boy was “just hype” and would be soundly defeated by the much older and experienced fighter. A view shared by most other than those closest to Zero and a small amount of more hardcore fans who gave him shot at actually winning. This hardly mattered to him however, he believed in himself enough for everyone. Yet it did sting that the person whom he had to fight and who was now trash talking him at every opportunity was one of his idols in the sport. Though this fact only motivated him more.
During his second week out of the eight weeks of training he had set aside to prepare for his debut match as a professional mixed martial artist. Zero was out on his morning jog through an empty city street and a large shockwave blew him off his feet. The road in front of him had a large crater in it as if a bomb had gone off in its center, but he couldn’t see what had made it and there were no signs of a bomb actually detonating. But there was nothing there. As he stared at the spot, Zero was hit hard in the stomach by an invisible attacker and knocked into the side of a truck. In pain, feeling as if his internal organs had turned to jelly inside him, got up and searched for the one responsible. He felt as if he had been hit by a car going 50mph but there was no one to be found.
Suddenly a slight shift, a transparent figure caught his eye. When he focused on the figure it turned into a blue-ish cloud of smoke. It came forward leaving huge indents in the ground as it did. Instinctively raising his arms, Zero was again hit and sent flying backwards. He was in an extreme amount of pain and most likely only alive as his forearms took most of the damage, but still he refused to quit. He summoned all his concentration and focused on the cloud willing himself to see what could not be seen. While he stared at it, the cloud began to take the shape of a monstrous creature in a white mask as zero pulled himself to his feet for a second time. The creature ran at him, snarling and ready to kill. The last thing he remembers of that morning is that it was right on top of him when he blacked out.
Zero woke up in the hospital the next day and was told he’d be there for the next five to rest his injuries. He refused and left after three days. During his time in the hospital, Zeros trainers kept the incident out of the media and he was allowed no visitors had they known he was there anyhow. On his second night there though Zero awoke in the middle of the night and found that his hospital room’s window was open and there was an envelope on his bedside table. Believing it to be fan mail, he read it contents. The message was hand written and short, simply saying “You’re Welcome”. More curious was that the letter head was from a robotics company currently on the fortune 500 list.
Getting no answer as to where the note had come from and not having the time to find out for himself. Zero went back to training the morning after being released from the hospital and had amazingly healed up almost completely by that point. After this event zero felt the well of strength that had been growing within him rise even more and was able to go through the remainder of his training camp, meant to be the most grueling 8 weeks of his life with ease. Leaving many battered sparring partners in his wake. Dumbfounding everyone involved with his career who could not believe the progress he showed in such a short amount of time especially his miraculous recovery and talks of invisible monsters attacking in broad daylight. Though none of them brought any of their questions or concerns up with Zero who at the time would’ve welcomed it as he himself was unsure. But was more than pleased with the results.
Tragedy struck at the fight when Zero killed his opponent in the ring. A coroner’s report had stated that the deceased fighters internal organs had all burst and had suffered multiple broken bones before he was given a punch that had crushed his skull in the most gruesome and infamous professional fight in history. Zero was blacklisted from the sport and stripped of his professional license at twenty-one years of age. The ruling bodies in the following inquest deciding there was far too much damage done to not be deliberate telling him he is lucky there was not enough evidence for a criminal case.
Zero was crushed by the athletic commission’s decision and was terribly saddened by what had happened, he did not mean to kill his opponent and didn’t understand how it happened, throughout his grief Zero ceased to train himself and took over as a trainer at his father’s gym briefly. Not long after though his grief over killing an idol of his coupled with the loss of his childhood dreams of becoming champion subsiding, gave up his job as trainer and focused solely on training himself, going to great lengths to test his now seemingly Herculean abilities. He needed much more strenuous routines and was much stronger and faster than he had ever been, and that strength just kept building.
After three months of training himself and not understanding what was going on with him, Zero had a run in with another monster such as the one that had attacked him before. Zero fought for his life and succeeded at keeping it for a little while even finding his blows to be damaging the creature slightly, before being cornered by the beast. With his back literally against a wall, Zero readied a punch and put all his might into it and for the first time his powers emerged. The hollow was not beaten but was greatly damaged as well as shocked. Unable to replicate the blow or get over the shock of delivering the first however, Zero was in bad shape as the beast now fiercer than before came at him.
Zero was saved suddenly by young Quincy who had swooped in and killed the monster with ease. Impressed, Zero expressed his gratitude and began immediately asking question about what had happened. The Quincy explained to Zero about the spirit world and also happened to be somewhat of a fan of Zero’s. Zero was greatly interested in learning how to control his newfound abilities and the Quincy more then willing to assist told him that he would take him to a place that would teach him how. From that day on, Zero has stayed with and become an active member of the brotherhood after developing and learning to control his powers.
Over the course of the next few years Zero and the Quincy became as brothers, Zero finding out that it was him that saved zero the first time and had left him the note. Among other things the young man who had brought him to the brother hood was one of e richest men on the planet and was born of a special bloodline allowing him to be able to see the spirit world from birth. One fact that bonded the two was that they both had a hate for what they saw as an unwelcome intrusion into their world by both the hollow and shinigami. Both believing that the human world should stand or fall on its own. While serving in the brotherhood Zero and Daijiro (the Quincy) went on more missions than almost anyone in the organization and learned to completely control his quickly growing powers and advanced to the second level of human power quicker than most thought possible.
Additional Info: Zero is a world class fighter with near perfect fighting technique and is trained in various forms of martial arts, Mainly Muay thai, Brazilian jiu-jitsu and Greco roman wrestling though there are others. He is also quite famous following his mma career, and somewhat known by those that don't that know him from the controversy that ended it. Due to his successes in cage fighting zero has racked up a modest fortune though it is pocket change when compared with his partners.

By pumping reiatsu into his body Zero can move With almost instantaneous acceleration in short bursts. enabling him to keep up with opponents using shunpo or like abilities depending on the users strength in close quarters though at a distance the latter techniques are more efficient.
• Zero can focus reiatsu into his fists, legs, elbows and knees causing them to glow with visible reiatsu to create either extremely forceful blows. Able to kill lower hollows in a single hit or combination. and cause a medium amount of damage to opponents at his level of power. Or leave a decent sized crater or destroyed wall should he miss.

Additional- Zero's regenerative abilities are off the charts. not so astounding that it could be considered a battle ability. But Zero can recover from seemingly life threatening injuries in a matter of days.
Other Characters: Kaiba Katayama co-vc 1st squad
Roleplay Sample:
Since losing his armor, Ombra was enjoying an overwhelming speed advantage that Kaiba was hopelessly struggling to keep up with. The wound in his shoulder was still flowing freely. He knew that even though he could still move his left arm slightly, it was nowhere near a hundred percent. Ombra was fully aware of this shortcoming and forced Kaiba to fight completely defensive, eliminating any chance for the shinigami to mount any offense at all, let alone an effective one. Using his gauntlet and zanpakuto, it took every ounce of his strength, skill and determination to change the many potential fatal blows into the superficial wounds that were quickly appearing all over his body. Even the persistently optimistic Kaiba knew that he could not keep this up much longer. In fact he was amazed he had stuck in this long. The guardian had him outmatched in every aspect of the fight save perhaps technique, and that was all that was keeping the shinigami alive for now.
A harsh grunt escaped from Kaiba’s lips as he brought his sword up to block an overhead strike from the insect like Ombra. With little time to react, the guardian flitted behind the shinigami and forced him to duck low to the ground, avoiding being skewered once again. By this point, Kaiba had lost track of how many close calls there had been. Instead he focused on dodging the inevitable follow up attack that would be thrown at him. As he rolled forward, the sight of an airborne and quickly descending Ombra could be seen. With his skills with shunpo being at a fledgling level, Kaiba was forced to painfully shift his body to the side mid-roll barely avoiding the facial impaling that had awaited him otherwise. Ombras blade dug into the earth beside Kaiba’s head as he lay on his back, the attack so near him that his cheek was given a deep gouge as it passed him by. Rolling back up to his feet, Kaiba was alerted to the fact that he had lost track of his opponent. With his ability to sense reiatsu severely affected by the strange atmosphere in this dimension, he was forced to swivel his head from left to right then to turn around to make sure he was not about to be caught by surprise, but Ombra was nowhere to be seen. A slight rustle in the trees behind him made Kaiba turn quickly toward its source. In doing so he had unwittingly played right into Ombra’s hand as the guardian now appeared behind him, his sword pulled back. Kaiba could only look on in horror as he turned to face Ombra and felt his stomach being pierced by the blade before it tore through his back as well. A large gob of blood came out of Kaibas mouth as Ombra pulled his blade back out through the hole it had created in his abdomen, twisting it as he did so to widen the wound. With his body weakened from the rapid loss of blood and nothing left to keep him on his feet, Kaiba Katayama fell face down into the shallow water beneath him. His heartbeat becoming erratic then slowing then coming to a stop world around him went black.
The feeling of a roaring fire warmed his skin and the young shinigami found himself in a blackened chamber. There were small fires all around him and a row of torches illuminating a path leading to what looked to be throne. He knew this place, he had been here many times before and he instinctively shuddered inwardly before he began approaching the throne. The thrones occupant sat with one leg crossed over the other, by far the largest fire in the chamber was directly behind the throne. The flames appearing to make the shadows of the room look as if they were dancing along with casting a bright light which made his sword spirits long red hair appear to be aflame as well.
“My dear boy, my dear, sweet boy” She said patronizingly. “How could you let that disgusting thing best you? Pathetic”
“I didn’t let him!” He screamed. “He was faster than me, I couldn’t stop him.”
“HA HA HA Well then, I guess he has earned the right to devour your brother and the young ones. You sicken me Kaiba!”
Kaen’s words were spoken with such malice that Kaiba was taken back and could not reply. Images of Kuatura and the others succumbing to a similar fate as he had filled his mind and tormented him.
“You know lover, this all could have been avoided. If you didn’t spend so much time trying to ignore me, that…….Thing wouldn’t have laid a hand on you, it really will be your fault when they die.” Spoke Kaen in a sing song voice. Her arms spread out on the thrones arm rests.
“WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!!! SPEAK TO ME! CAN I SAVE THEM?”
“Oh ho ho.” She chuckled. “Saving them is not what is important. Lover. It was thinking like that which got you in this predicament in the first place.”
“Stop talking in riddles! If…..” He yelled in annoyance.
“What is important, my boy.” She interrupted. “Is incinerating ones enemies without a seconds pause, that! Is how a true warrior does battle. Destruction of ones enemy is all the matters, nothing else.”
“Nothing matters now, don’t you get it? It’s too late, all that’s left is to wait until I rejoin the life stream. And just my luck I get to spend it with you, I let them all down.”
“You’re hurting my feelings lover. And just when I was gonna help you out.”
“How the fuck can you help me, it’s over. I know you were watching. Don’t fuck with me Kaen now’s not the time.”
“I am not fucking with you, as much as the thought excites me. I will grant you the power you need, not that you deserve it, after ignoring me all these years.” She interjected. “But. You must answer me one thing. Do you want to live, or do you want to kill your enemies so that they can never raise a hand to you or your loved ones ever again?”
“I….Want….I want to kill, I want to kill them all.”
She smiled. apparently pleased with his answer, and once more the world went black.
Ombra had just finished cleaning Kaibas blood off of his blades and began to walk away. Although to Kaiba it felt as if he were away for a long time, in reality it had been mere seconds. A pulse of high reiatsu was shot through the area like a shockwave from an explosion making the guardian turn back towards his latest victim slowly. Too his shock and dismay, the sight of a standing and miraculously unscathed Kaiba greeted him. Flames permeated from the shinigamis body and even the damp foliage around him was catching fire. Kaiba himself glowed with an aura crimson in color. Steam came off the water in which he stood, Ombra looked on and for just a moment felt a cool chill run down his spine. After remembering how easily he had defeated him previously though, a smirk appeared on Ombra’s face once more.
“Your petty light show does not scare me shinigami, I am the 1st guardian of the gate. You will never defeat me, you should have just stayed down and maybe I wouldn’t have noticed and then you could have scurried away like the rodent you are in comparison to me. Instead you chose death. How foolish” Ombra stated in confidence.
Kaiba stood stark still, seemingly not noticing the guardian or his words. Instead he seemed to not notice Ombra at all. He seemed to be focusing on something but Ombra could not guess at what it could be, enraging him.
“You DARE ignore ME! I wil……..”
Ombra managed to spit out before stopping short. As he saw Kaiba’s stern glare fall upon him, Kaiba extended his hand towards him with his index and middle finger pointing at Ombra.
“Ignite” Kaiba said solemnly as his sword burst into flames surrounding the blade without moving up the hilt.
“That supposed to scare me?” Questioned Ombra. A trace of fear perceptible in his voice as he did so.
The hollow before Kaiba looked to regain his composure quickly and was aggravated that he had been shaken in the slightest. Suddenly Ombra’s eye began to glow a deep red and he fired cero at his opponent. To his shock, Kaiba, unflinching used his flaming zanpakuto to deflect the blast. Sending it into the trees off to his right, utterly destroying everything it came in contact with before dissipating.
Kaiba turned his hand over, fingers still extended, his palm facing upwards now.
“Tefura” The shinigami said coolly, with a quick flip of his fingers now upturned as well.
In quick succession the ground beneath Ombra rumbled slightly before exploding in a violent shower of water and rocks causing him to leap backwards. The airborne debris served to obstruct his vision and he lost track of Kaiba, in a flash Kaiba appeared in front of him, his sword pulled back and with a flash of heat and light swiped at Ombra who made his own slash at the shinigami. The two landed, kneeling in the water with their backs facing each other. Ombra stood up as Kaiba remained crouched.
“Now do you see shinigami?” Ombra asked, the cocky smirk returning to his face. “I am invinnnccciiii…..”
Ombra was cut short mid sentence as his left bladed arm fell to the floor, completely severed. The guardian had little time to dwell on this however as a spurt of blood came from his neck and his head fell from his shoulders and into the shallow depths upon which he stood, his body following soon after As it came crashing to its knees before disintegrating into what seemed to be a mist or water like substance. As curious as this might have been at any other time, Kaiba was just content that Ombra was gone and he could move on.
Kaiba rose from his position, the flames on his sword disappeared seemingly returning into the blade itself, the crimson aura around Kaiba also vanished and Kaiba looked to the skies in relief and kissed his zanpakuto’s blade before re-sheathing it.
“That’s my boy.” Kaen’s sultry voice could be heard inside his head
