Because it came up and is probably important I am starting this topic to keep a tally of the number of personnel in the various races. Because Las Noches has pretty much unlimited numbers at this point (a plot device that will be explained in time) and most others have refrained from mass casualties or are small enough to keep those numbers stated within the actual RP's it will only be the Gotei 13 for now. That said others may be added in time and from this point forward I'll try to keep it updated after any major clash.
I'm working on the assumption that most divisions started out with roughly 500 members, however as shown with my own divisions this is far from the truth. If you envisioned yours with more/less or saw it as taking more/less casualties during these battles then please contact me.
WORK IN PROGRESS
The RP Begins
Division 1: 100 – As a command, bureaucratic, and general paperwork division they never required a full force.
Division 2: 500
Division 3: 500
Division 4: 500
Division 5: 500
Division 6: 500
Division 7: 500
Division 8: 800 – As the military might of Seireitei the Eight Division has traditionally kept a larger roster of members than others.
Division 9: 500 official, 2000 reality – Ninth has pulled criminals and other such fighters off the streets of Rukongai and unofficially instated them as fodder. Just one of the secrets the other divisions (Second in particular) is attempting to discover but has not yes succeed in, and which efforts have been greatly hampered with recent losses allowing an unchecked control by Laetitia.
Division 10: 600 official, 700 reality – Tenth kept an extra force of 100 in the Deaths Hand, and an unofficial 100 manned the Black Tower, and other secret projects.
Division 11: 500
Division 12: 500
Division 13: 500
After For the Fallen
Division 1: 86 – First faced Death and Fury's Prodigum, the latter saw several casualties.
Division 2: 424 – Second division was one of the most widely fronted divisions in the Las Noches assault, they were however not expecting the Horror Vacui's own stealth operatives. Most importantly the “Caption” Kisho was eliminated by the Horror Vacui known as Victim.
Division 3: 481 – Third division protected the gate crossing dimensions during the assault and remained mostly unharmed until the Black Tower was struck down at the end of the conflict, the falling debris struck down some members.
Division 4: 492 – For fear of the intensity of the battle (a fear that proved true) Fourth was held back to administer aid to those who retreated through the gate and did not take part in direct assault. They would only lose a handful of personnel during the destruction of the Black Tower.
Division 5: 500
Division 6: 412 – Sixth division acted as a distraction from the primary force that inserted into Las Noches. However their captain, Yamato Takahashi over zealously pursued their attack until they found themselves deep in the lower depths of the Arrancar headquarters. Though he would effectively eliminate one of the Espada he would later find his aggressive tactics to be his downfall. Deep in enemy territory the division was accosted by the Horror Vacui Dementia, to whose hand Takahashi would fall, many members were also lost on the way in and during the chaotic retreat [This is a retcon, initially Takahashi would survive but as the member in control ceased activity before any further canon events took place this fight was utilized to remove them so another could take their place].
Division 7: 500
Division 8: 752 – Wagering a full assault on Las Noches would end poorly Seireitei instead opted for a smaller strike force. Under this premise Eighth division would instead provide support and defense, several members protecting the Hueco Mundo side of the dimensional gate would perish but the larger portion of deaths came at the destruction of the Black Tower, much of Eight Division being gathered about it.
Division 9: 500 official, 1421 reality – Ninth acted as a second distraction from the main force but entered as a small force, they would lose two members including their captain Hitotsu but unlike the other divisions they handled this well as emotional attachment (the normal kind anyway) is nonexistent within the division. Fearing the heightened security and scrutiny the Las Noches assaults failure brought Laetitia allowed a coup she was aware of to fester within the division instead of striking it down. However when it came time for these usurpers to strike they found their moves had been read and were eliminated, at the same time a “Blood Thinning” was allowed to take place so that Ninths numbers did not become obvious. However at the loss of hundreds they gained a new set of leaders that were religiously loyal to the new command.
Division 10: 589 – With the exposure of the Black Tower tenth was forced to reveal its extra members. They would also act as one of the primary spearheads in the assault, a fact that cost them heavily. Half of the Deaths Hand would be eliminated and there were no survivors in the Black Tower project when it was destroyed.
Division 11: 433 – The second member of the direct assault, most of the Eleventh Division members who entered Hueco Mundo would perish, this included then captain Matono Nekomi who perished at the hands of the Horror Vacui known as Chaos (Manifesto).
Division 12: 500 – The Twelfth Division widely played a support role during the attack and lost no members, though their captain entered with a mind to test the bounds of the Arrancar within he escaped unharmed along with the aid of his vice-captain [This is a retcon. Initially Hana was 3rd seat with another member providing the VC, however after a long period of inactivity this was rectified to the current stance].
Division 13: 500 – Thirteenth Division was not present during the assault, and though they provided defense of the gate on the Soul Society side they played second to other divisions. Though a insult at the time it saw the division undamaged in the wake of the assault [This is a retcon, the original captain and only member at the time did not take much active participation in the assault and has since been removed from the continuity, instead replaced by Rin who in the timeline has long been the captain].
