Age: 412
Physical Description: Oketsu has a slender build, and is six feet and five inches tall. His skin tone is hauntingly pale, giving off an ethereal glow which is accentuated by the pale silver colour of his iris. Along each cheek are three, three centimetre, holes lined with golden rings to prevent the holes from healing over. Oketsu’s hair silver in colour and reaches to his lower back. It is perfectly straight and without a fringe, with the exception of a singer piece of hair which lies over his face and often catches in the wind.
Oketsu still wears what remains of his shinigami robes, though the sleeves have been ripped off, at the shoulder on the left arm and at the elbow on the right. The lower half has been mostly removed and has been reduced to little more than tattered black rags that cover his newly acquired clothes from the human world. Under the remains of his robes he wears a Kevlar vest marked with a picture of two hands raised in fists reaching up towards a red sun, and long black cargo pants, covered in buckles and belts, with large black leather strapped boots which reach up to just below his knees, but are covered by his pants.
Oketsu’s left arm has been removed, though work from a Brotherhood medical crew member has healed over the wound, preventing it from scarring. Long black and red bloodstains mark the side of his vest, trailing down from his missing limb in a jagged trail to his waist. Genesis, his Zanpakuto, is strapped horizontally just above his hips, with the hilt facing towards his right side, for increased ease in drawing it given his disability.
History Addition: <Added to the end of History>
However, upon actually watching the Syndicate, he realised their goals did not match his own. So he simply stopped watching them, and carried out his time living in an old library where he worked as the librarian during the day, earning a living and functioning as part of regular human society. This worked for him, he occasionally checked on the Brotherhood of the Masked Syndicate, and his reiatsu often pulled Hollows towards his library, meaning his combat skills were never dulled, but he grew complacent and moved on to just enjoying life in the human world.
During this time, and ten years before the event that would forever disrupt his world, a young girl of six years of age was left at the library, for what reason and by who Oketsu was never able to tell. He named her Faith, and set about raising her, teaching her everything he had learned in his long life. As she grew, she became more attuned to his reiatsu, feeding off it and growing in power, and sensing this Oketsu trained her, and together they lived in the library, eventually she grew strong enough to join in the battles with hollows that attacked the library, her ability to create shields of energy proving beyond helpful on several occasions. Their life was a good life, and together they won several awards and gathered many rare books to add to their collection, until everything changed.
One day a book was returned with a letter inside, tell Oketsu of a single window of opportunity, with which he could enter the Senkaimon, and regain contact with his captain. Leaping on the opportunity, Oketsu Faith to take over the library in his absence, leaving all of his money and belongings to her with the exception of his clothes and his sword, and she promised she would guard the life he was leaving behind until he returned again. Thanking her and leaving, Oketsu managed to make his way into the Rukongai before he was finally stopped by two vice captain level shinigami.
Oketsu was reasonably older than either of his opponents, and his self confidence and arrogance would prove to be his downfall. Refusing to release his shikai, he was outnumbered and overpowered, and in the ensuing battle lost his left arm before fleeing the Rukongai. Injured and relying on his inner hollow just to keep himself alive, Oketsu returned to the one place he knew he could be turn to, The Brotherhood. While things had changed, he was accepted again into their ranks, and since has been fighting for the Brotherhood, though recently his thoughts have strayed to the home he left behind, and how Faith has been, though fate will determine when and if he will see her again.
Bankai
Activation Phrase: “BAN-KAI! Angelus Genesis!”
Appearance: The shaft of Genesis’ spear disappears, and instead the head becomes a spear, elongating and widening to just over 4 metres in length, with the hole at the base of the original spearhead becoming a handle, and the spikes retracting so that Oketsu may hold the blade.
As with Genesis himself, a large suit of runic gothic styled plate mail appears on Oketsu’s body, although the left arm is missing. Karge angelic white feathered wings appear on his back, and a halo of white energy surrounding his head. Every time he flies, a trail of white feathers are left behind, which slowly dissolve as they fall, never quite reaching the ground.
As with his shikai, his Bankai appearance changes once his hollow powers are released. The glowing runes on his armour and sword change to a deep glowing red, the halo on his head turns to a dull black, and the feathers of his wings grow black as a crow’s.
Abilities:
A Feather in the Hand: Genesis adjusts it’s weight in Oketsu’s hand, allowing him to use the blade efficiently. It also adjusts it weight in the hands of any other, becoming beyond heavy for anyone without Oketsu’s reiatsu who tries to hold it. (Thus, Faith can hold it too.)
Angelic Wings: Oketsu is able to move at 1.5x his regular speed, but only while in the air, on the ground, he moves at 4/5ths his normal speed, as the wings are difficult to manoeuvre with while walking or running.
Angelic Storm/Demonic Tempest: Oketsu is able to dislodge feathers of reiatsu and manipulate them at will. Activating this ability costs 25% of Oketsu’s total reiatsu, and provides him with around 10,000 feathers of reiatsu, which can be used to attack or defend (in a style similar to Byakuya’s zanpakuto) depending on what they are needed for, however any feathers lost when they are released from his wings grows back instantly (so that he doesn’t have naked wings).
While at first the abiloty may seem indominatable, an observant opponent will notice a faint aura surrounding the feathers, which is red when they are being used for offense and blue when they are being used for defense, and that there is a three second gap where there is no colouring on the feathers. During this short window, the feathers are incredibly vulnerable to reiatsu other than Oketsu's, and will crumble away if attacked with reiatsu during the switch.
Defensive Mode: During this mode, the feathers can move approximatly at the speed of a cero when further than 1 metre away from Oketsu, and move at five times that speed whle in a 1 metre zone around Oketsu. While active the reiatsu used to create the feathers is condensed considerably, making them smaller, but also incredibly difficult to deal lasting damage to. As this mode simply condenses the feathers, no additional reiatsu is required during this mode,
Offensive Mode: During this mode, the feathers can travel at double the speed of the defensive feathers can outside of one metre, and half that speed within one metre. In offensive mode, the feathers are considerably more vulnerable to enemy reiatsu based attacks, and while they can join together and cause a deadlock with oncoming attacks, they have a tendancy to split out of the way of enemy reiatsu, leaving Oketsu open to attacks if he relies too heavily on this mode. There is also a 0.5% per post cost to Oketsu's reiatsu for each 2,500 feathers active.
Inner World: <Goes under inner hollow I think>
Oketsu’s inner world is a massive sprawling library, with one book for every day of his life. Having lived as long as he has, the halls of his inner world are filled with endless book cases, covered in books of varying age, colour and states of repair. Apart from the book cases, however, Oketsu’s inner world is entirely black, thus there is no way of telling the difference between the floor or the roof, partly because there are no walls, the world repeats on itself, and only Oketsu, Genesis and his inner hollow have the knowledge to make their way through the labyrinth of bookcases, anyone else finding their way in would be lost for sure. The books are not ordered at all however, the book made from the day before could be found on the same shelf as the book of the day he was born, and this randomness is all part of his inner hollow messing with the structure of his inner world.
Within his inner world, there is a single section, containing five book shelves, which there is colour underneath, great red veins run through the black, and the book cases here scream and wail as if they were made from tortured souls. In this area is the life story of Oketsu’s inner hollow, condensed into one book per year of its life. Oketsu has never entered this section, as his hollow stops him every time he tries, and it continues to guard this area religiously (or as religiously as a hollow can).
These are the ammendments I would like to have added to my Vaizard Oketsu. If you could check over these, and then unlock Oketsu's topic so I can add these in once they are okay'd, it'd be appreciated^^
