It was almost midday in Soul Society. The situations of weeks passed were still fresh in their minds and only some of the scars had been healed, most having to do with the buildings destroyed. The casualties and the moral toll taken from losing so many leaders as well as others would take many years to cover. In the meantime though life went on and it was up to those left behind to insure that they kept things running as they were meant to. Thus if one were an outsider and did not understand the workings of the Shinigami most would have assumed that nothing had occurred at all.
Kazuma Irashi the Commander General took a deep sigh as he once more went over what was written on the white board. The room had been setup exactly like a high school class and the atmosphere within might as well have been a throwback as well. Sitting at two desks in front of him were Azuka Tsuno and Laetitia, the latter was practically falling out of her chair as she moped, leaning on one hand and spun a pencil with the other.
Though Captains were generally allowed to do as they wished with their divisions there was still a good bit of universal information they needed to know, such as the paperwork all divisions had to fill out. It wasn't going easy though as Tsuno just wasn't like other captains he had taught and Laetitia...well, suffice it to say he would never have made her a captai. However it would have been impossible to rework Ninth division while in the midst of the current crisis and so he had chosen someone that could maintain them for now.
He had been about to go over the information again when the door was thrown open and his Vice-captain, Kuatura walked through. Ever since the event where his brother had been one of the casualties Kuatura had been far more serious about his duties, still after a few weeks his usual humor had been returning. It annoyed Kazuma at times but in this case he was glad to see it because it meant he wasn't letting it impair him. Right now as he approached though he looked deathly serious and so Kazuma said nothing of the interruption and instead walked away from the board to see what he had to say.
Kuatura held out an envelope to him, “Five minutes ago an Arrancar appeared on the outer edges of Rukongai. A team was on site and was about to attack, however the Arrancar simply tossed this at them and then left the way it came. I've checked it and it isn't dangerous, but it does seem they are finally on the move.”
Kazuma snatched the envelope out of his hand with more anger than he had intended. At the moment he was ignoring how the Arrancar had so easily breached Soul Society and instead turned his attention to the letter inside, as he read it his countenance grew grim. Once finished he turned to Kuatura.
“Send the word out, have all Captains assemble in the meeting room.”
Kuatura nodded and walked out with haste. Kazuma didn't quite know what to make of this, but he knew nothing good could come of it. He turned to the two amateur captains and told them they were done for the day, now they needed to follow him. They then made their way to the meeting room and took their appointed seats, waiting for the rest to appear.

The headquarters of the NWO were always under guard. After all Richard Mallory their leader (more commonly known as the President) was perhaps the most paranoid man on the planet. Still even his seeming all encompassing pre-planning was not perfect and he couldn't be blamed. After all nobody had ever found out the connection between Mallory Arms and them, thus they had never found their main headquarters. More over there were more important pressing matters on which to attach the manpower he had. After two large clashes with the Brotherhood and the escape of Jager there were endless tasks to accomplish and not nearly enough men with which to cover them. So when the main hanger of the NWO armor division exploded in a fireball that rocked the facility it was understandable why it had come without warning. Damning and pitiful. But understandable.
Emergency crews and soldiers alike responded to the surprise only to find out very quickly that it was no mistake, an attack had begun. The first were cut down quickly and decisively, in minutes dozens of men had fallen. But their teaching kicked in soon enough and they began to lock the facility down, soon the enemy was not making as much forward ground as at first. It was not exactly a battle of attrition for the foe was still moving forward but it would take some time before they continued to spread through the facility.
Elsewhere Richards phone rang its high frequency emergency tone, alerting him to an occurrence of imminent peril. When he looked he was struck by the disheartening news of the attack, but it wasn't that they had been found that was the worst. Multiple camera feeds were visible for his choosing and on several the foe he was about to face was very clear, black cloaked shinigami standing toe to toe with several massive hollows, fighting his men as allies.
His nightmares were coming true.
-----------------
Victoria rolled to one side and then the other laughing to herself as she splashed in the tub. Such things had been all but forgotten in Las Noches and it made her giggle like a little girl to experience simple pleasures once more. Such things were nice for the rest of the world certainly was not. After the massacre with the NWO many of the less stalwart members had left the Brotherhood. Those that remained were the few that had the vision to see what was coming and thankfully they were mostly the strong ones. Still it was doing nothing for moral to lose so many of their friends, either to giving up or worse to death. But nobody was questioning her, her strength was undeniable and the potential threat posed by the Horror Vacui looming. But even so she feared if they didn't attack soon then protests might begin, it wasn't that she wanted them to kill anyone but the longer they took to mobilize the more doubt that would be cast on whether or not her warnings had been true.
Strange she would be thinking these things when a loud bang sounded out and her tub practically rolled over from the reverberations. She hopped out and dressed quickly, rushing out of her door only to find a boy being surrounded by two men. Though they looked human she could sense that they were spirits and it dawned on her that they must be Vizard. She was about to call out to them when one raised his zanpakutou on the boy forcing her to charge. She grabbed each of their heads in her hands and slammed them into the wall causing both to fall to the ground unconscious as the boy regained his footing and looked to her questioningly.
She rushed to the nearest window and looked outside, she could see flames billowing from the entrance to the school. But more importantly there were dozens of people surrounding the school all giving the same aura as those she just knocked unconscious. She jumped out the window and came sliding to a stop before them while pointing at the nearest one.
“What is going on here!” she yelled, she had spoken with Ashley already, she knew the woman did not trust her but she didn't think there had been animosity between them.
But there was no response, several of the individuals near pulled hollow masks over their face and charged straight at her with blades drawn. Worse yet she could sense that quite a few had already penetrated into the school itself through the hole the explosion had torn.
-----------------
Ashley took a deep breath as she hobbled along on the support of her cane. She was feeling better today than on most occasions and had decided to go for a walk in the park quite to the chagrin of the other Vizard. Of course she did understand why, just a few days ago she had to have a pissing match with some fool of a Shinigami and just flaring her energy alone had nearly been enough to take her off her feet. She didn't want to admit it and certainly wasn't going to say so to the rest of the Vizard but she wasn't sure how much longer she was going to hold out against the Flayed One. Still for this day at least she was well enough and so it was doubly aggravating when her peace was interrupted.
She was walking along with her retainer Misha and simply talking about the day when a killing aura had washed over them. Such feelings were imposing to the young or newly bloodied but to Ashley they were little more than a sign that an opponent was coming. Thus as they launched into an attack they probably hadn't struck the surprise and fear they had hoped in her, and in fact neither had they Misha. Ashley was far to frail to go wasting her important energy on anything less than a vice-captain class enemy, and that was pushing it. Thus in a split second her seemingly submissive and kind follower had drawn her blade and cut the three attackers down before they could finish their initial bound.
They slammed into the ground and Ashley waltzed over to get a good look at them. It only took a moment for her face to contort in rage before she turned back to the Cathedral and saw that flames were already leaping from it and now she felt the energies of her kin in battle. Thus with all the speed she could she set out for her home. On the ground behind her sat two humans and a bestial, feral hollow. Ashley had been willing to give Torre, or Victoria a chance, she would not do so again.

All across Tokyo, and especially in Karakura, battles had erupted. Between them all hundreds of Arrancar had descended on the town though they had not begun to fight yet, instead they had taken to various points around the city in groups of ten to forty in preparation for what was to come. And at the base of Tokyo Tower Death leaned against one of the struts, waiting for his message to be responded to, a bemused grin etched across his face as he sensed the scenes unfolding.
Of course few of the Arrancar asside from the Horror Vacui and their most trusted Prodigum understood what was truly happening. Few knew of how they had managed to get other species on their side. For now their orders were to stay away from these locations and wait for the shinigami to appear.

Sagara walked into the Captain’s meeting room for the first time in his life. Four of the Captains where already there, along with the Commanding General and his Vice-Captain. He had been in the presence of Captains, and the Commanding General a few times before, but never had he been there as a fellow commander. Sagara Zurri, fourth seat of the Sixth Division, acting Captain.. Sixth Division had been devastated in the attack on Hueco Mundo, and the following explosion of the tower. Sagara himself had been wounded in the explosion. Not only that, he could feel there power, he was use to have one or two around, even fighting, but as more captains came in the combined weight of there naturally flowing riatsu was enough to make Sagara feel pressured, and maybe slightly dizzy.
He grabbed the back seat as he waited for the meeting to begin, no details had been given to him, but he figured it was pretty big for the Commander General to summon a meeting like this. Sagara counted the higher seated soldiers that where still around in the Sixth Division. Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, and Ninth seat where ready to go. They might be limping, but Sixth could provide support for any of the other divisions. He didn’t want a fight right now though, he didn’t want to lose anymore of his friends; even if most of them didn’t think of him as there friend..
One would have expected the fact that Sagara was involved in a Captain’s meeting to elevate his ego, and normally they would have been right. But right now the bitter taste of the reality that Sixth Div was it was weighing him down more then any riatsu.. Soul Society was being held together by the remaining Captains holding a tough face and an iron grip. But Sagara could see how close it was to snapping.. He had to keep Sixth Division together no matter what, the real pressures of being a Captain where on him, even if he was just keeping the seat warm until they decided who would replace Captain Yamato..
Another sigh escaped his lips as he looked down and waited for the meeting to start. His mind wondered to who would be the replacement, and how things would change in the division. How they would stay the same, and what course Soul Society, and the rest of the worlds head from here.

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP!
The warning bells sounded as the main hanger of the armor division went up in flames. Vance was about to swipe his card to use the main elevator and go home as the attack happened. He slid his card into his pocket before pulling out his custom 45. Which sat in a chest holster. He started running full blast towards the stealth division armory, when a hollow ran in front of him. He pulled his pistol up and fired a full clip into his head. The hollow dropped dead and Vance loaded another clip into his pistol before continuing on as other started to head near him. He went around a wall before firing another clip at two more coming his way. “Yeah! Lets park at the armory division so we can drive the car another minute! GREAT,” He paused as he fired off the last two shells. “IDEA!” He finished as he slammed in his last clip and continued towards Stealth division. He turned sharply, jumping on top a wall then jumping off it to keep his momentum up. Two combat squads turned the corner and Vance did a home run slide towards them before ending up prone with his gun towards the corner as two more Hollows came running towards them. The squad dropped them before Vance could get off clean shot. Vance jumped to his feet before saying. “It’s a full invasion! Im lucky to have made it this far without running into anything strong.” The squad leader nodded before telling Vance to head to the armory. Like he needed to be told.. The squad continued on, but by the screams he could tell they didn’t get the same luck he had..
He made it to the armory, short on ammo and breath but alive. He suited up as quick as he could and gathered all his ammo and gear, and more ammo for his pistol. He holstered his pistol in favor of his custom sniper rifle. He ran back towards the armor division, meeting up with three different combat squads on his way there. It was a different seen now, defensive had been set up, dozens if not hundreds of squads where present, armor, stealth, combat, ordinance, and a few scientists where handing out some new tools to a few people. Areas had been sealed off and it looked like they where a real military force. Vance joined with the other snipers in finding vantage points to shoot past there guys.. He sweated inside his suit as his spirit scanner went crazy. This was the real deal.. “Out of all the days I’d work an all-nighter.. This would happen..” He said as he put his finger on the trigger..
_______________
Taza wasn’t planning on this, the Horror Vacui had launched a full scale assault everywhere. Any fool could see it coming, but it had happened much faster then he had imagined, they had brought so many to the fold so quickly it was hard to believe. Even Taza had to agree they where quite the capable rulers.. No one had ever brought together the Arrancar and the hollows like this before. In the six thousands years he had lived he had never seen anything like it.
He sighed quietly as he hovered over Tokyo. He would be drinking right now, but he needed to be sober right now. He needed to adjust his plan, the shingami where never going to ally with him and those that wanted to get rid of the Horror Vacui if they started killing everyone and everything, which is what they where doing. They had started a full scale war against the Shingami. And battles where taking place all around Tokyo, but not by the Arrancar.. The horror Vacui had done something.. OR it was just a major coincidence, something he didn't believe in anymore.
He had left the scene of the major battles in Tokyo, if he was truly needed then he would go. But for now he needed to think, and devise a new way to take back Los Noches. Damn, it was all going wrong..

Kensei ran out of the grocery store that he worked out as he felt the presence of countless arrancar’s and hollows come into Tokyo. His manager was shouting in the background, but Kensei didn’t hear him. He pulled his knife Zanpakuto out of his boot and exited his Giga before flying towards the church. An half dozen humans surrounded him as he neared the Cathedril. They all had a decent amount of Riatsu, some even activated powers that formed as weapons. “Lend me your fists, Kazuno!’ He shouted as his hands become encased in a solid blue metal gauntlets.
He took the position of a boxer as the first three rushed him. He grabbed ones arm while moving out of the way of his thrust before pushing his sword into the gut of the one that attacked him from behind before slamming his fist into the others skill and grabbing the thirds zanpakuto and blasting him with the purple energy that came from the palm of his hand. The energy blew off one of the Human's cheek before Kensie round house kicked him in the face taking off his jaw. He Shunpoed behind one to his right and grabbed him by the head before breaking his neck. He shot the others five times in the head with his Kuro-seishou power, killing them.
“Humans that are that weak attacking us?” That wouldn’t have even killed a Gillian.. But he didn’t have time to ponder that as he ran inside the Cathedral. In front of him was Menos and four other humans with swords they had been pumping riatsu in to make fake weapons. He could feel his fellow Vizards fighting across Tokyo. He hopped the other Humans where as week as the ones he had just fought, otherwise this was going to be a tough battle..
The purple energy swirled around his hands as he activated shitsunen genkotsu (oblivion fist) technique and Shunponed in front of the Menos. He swung down with his fist, however the Menosmet his punch with his arm in a block. What the Menos didn’t count on was the massive force that sent him to the ground. Kensei did a three follow up punches to his face, cracking his mask off and starting rip apart his skin and break his skull open as the other four leaped into action.
Kensei spun around before doing a upper cut to one, which caused him to slam into the roof of the Cathedril. He spun around before noticing the familiar feeling of a blade slicing across his chest. He hissed in pain before slamming his fist as hard as he could into the Human's skull sending him trough one of the pews. The other two circled him cautiously, before one attempted a strike, Kensei Shunpoed behind him and slammed his fist into his back, breaking it before his fist met with the blade of the other, shattering it. He followed up with a punch to the Human's chest sending him into a pillar before his right fist slammed into his skull, cracking open his face. The one that was sent into the pews started to get up, Kensei raised his hand before charging his beam, sending a fully charged Kuro-seishou at his chest, pushing him across the Cathedral. After a few seconds kensei stopped the beam, revealing a charred chest of the human, his skin was burned off in places, allowing one to see charred bone. The smell of burnt flesh clung to the church and Kensei let out a sigh before discharging shitsunen genkotsu. He walked over to the Menos, the last one alive. He slammed his foot into his cracked skull, breaking it open and slamming his foot and the skeleton under it through the Menos's brain. “Whos next.” He said taking off his shirt and wrapping half of it around the wound across his chest. Where was the medics when you needed them?

Makkuro sat calmly in his quarters meditating about the lose of his comrades and the hollows that had caused it; his mind flowed back to the scene as he saw his men dying around him one by one. Suddenly the entire area turned red and he was standing alone floating in the darkness of the abyss left behind. All he can see now is the mocking face of an arrancar with a large flat sword telling him that compassion would do nothing but get him killed. The world tilts, his mind suddenly lashes out at him as Meuma berates him for such thoughts.
"Such thoughts are destructive for both you and me Makkuro."
"I'm not exactly in the mood to be berated about something you know nothing about Meuma. You have never had an attachment to anyone, but me before. I'm not exactly sure how you can possibly relate, so let the thoughts slip by for the moment. I'm just in grief."
"Maybe you should go visit Rin...she seems to put a smile on your face whenever you go and see her."
"Meuma, I know her as a follow Captain nothing more as of now. We've met all of a few times, I will not stampede into her barracks and interrupt God knows what she could be doing. I will deal on my own or I will simply pass on my seat as Captain to someone else. I however, refuse to be calloused to the deaths of those under my station. No words of an arrancar, no order from my captain or advice from anyone else will change that Meuma.
"I understand Makkuro."
Makkuro's mind was still caught on the events that had unfolded a few days ago. Two arrancar had penetrated into the Soul Society and had wrecked havoc on the Rukongai. When he had arrived the men that had been stationed to protect the area had been slaughtered and he as Captain of Squad 3 had his duties to make sure that no one anywhere near the gates of the Seireitei. Departing with ten of his best men, he made his way to the location only to watch them fall one after another to hollows. Finally the last insult was spat upon him as the giant worm hollow, Plateris exploding in a giant flash of light and the remaining men perished in an instant then that monster appeared. Makkuro's fist clenched at the thought of him and his first words to him.
"If you wish to survive in this world, you’ll throw away your compassion as well. When you witness hundreds, thousands of friends die before you, you learn to push away the pain to keep yourself alive. You still have friends, but you don’t break down when they die; you keep it together, or you will end up joining them.”
Makkuro denied that to be true, no matter what he would never throw away his compassion for his fellow man. He could let it rest aside for the moment of combat, but he would weep the bitterest of tears for each one that fell after the battle was over. A knock came to his door and he said enter, a young female shinigami entered with a small bottle of sake and a cup for the captain. She was wirey looking thing with brown hair and a rather diminshed frame. She was only about five-foot four, she was cute but by no stretch of the imagination sexy. Shiboo knew her immediately as his sixth seat Edi Takashi.
"Edi? Is something the matter?" She merely blushed and set the sake in front of him as well as the cup. Shiboo knew that her ex-boyfriend had died on the latest mission. The pair had been going through an on and off relationship mostly do her ex's ability to get himself beaten half to death every few days. They were in the off period when he passed and when Shiboo had arrived as the squads new captain. She had been the one that had provided him with the frills that he know wore religiously and had been kind enough to give him a large amount of them when he had returned from combat that fateful day.
"Captain, I thought well...I thought maybe you'd might like a drink after all thats happened...it could take your mind off of it."
"Thank you...thats very kind of you Edi. Would you like to share a drink with me though? You lost an important person as well." "I..."
Meuma didn't get the chance to pour a glass as a shadow rushed past the barracks, Kuatura suddenly opened the door and bowed humbly before delievering his message. Meuma simply nodded, shrugging as he stood up slowly ruffled the bottoms of his hakama, then moved to up on his captain's coat before moving out toward the meeting room.
"I'm sorry Edi."
"I wonder what this is about."
"You and me both."
_________________________________________________ Tokyo City- Sojukin Asamoto
About twenty yards from where Death had situated himself, Sojukin Asamoto the tres espada sat quietly watching the mayhem that was tearing through Tokyo City with vacant eyes. Destruction was one thing he enjoyed and he was simply tuning out to enjoy the show for a few moments as he looked down toward Death. He didn't know if the Horror Vacai would take offense to him seating himself on a higher place than him, but so be it. If he was that petty he shouldn't be leading dispute his enormous strength.
"Wish I had nice bowl of sake right about now." He whispered to himself as an explosion tore through a building to his right, wrapping it in a nice little fireball which sought to reach the sky, but was brought down by a burst of reitsu from Sojukin. The repulsed heat seemed to whimper in the reitsu before retreating back down into the room and regulating itself to a safe distance away from him. He chuckled and thought the show hadn't even begun either. He had to hand it to Death, the man had balls to pull something like this. This was an all out war between everyone now, not just Shinigami and Hollows...everyone was gonna enjoy this show.
Sojukin just laughed hysterically for a moment as he looked around at the chaos surrounding him and the entire world started to burn in his eyes. Though a brief aggrivation stopped his laughter as he felt an bullet smack him in the jaw, making one of his teeth ring for a moment. Frowning, he looked down toward the trajectory of the bullet, sighed and used shunpo down to the foolish NWO operative that thought his toy would take him down. Death was prolonged for him as he grabbed the man by the throat, smiled then shoved a fireball straight down his throat and into his stomach. It didn't start to really heat up till after Sojukin was back beside Death now crouched with his back against the wall.
"So....enjoying the show so far Death or have you seen all this so many times that it's just boring you to tears?" Sojukin asked curiously, despite his overbearing insanity and wish to do nothing but eviserate the nearest person to him or watch someone else do it. Death intrigued him and made him want to know more...then he could kill him should he supply enough power to be able to do so, which he doubted would happen anytime soon. His mind flashed back to the day he was made third espada, Death's power had taken him completely by surprise. The power that he held might as well been a candle against the sun. He sighed as he thought about it and then realized it couldn't be helped with the number of years Death had lived if what he said was true.
"Not trying to sound rude or anything Death, but something has been aching at my mind ever since that day you flicked your finger at me and would have decimated me had I not put my guard up. Just how long have you been alive? I know you've obviously been alive much longer than I have by many many many stretches of the imagination, but just how long have you been alive? I've seen hollows grand ancient hollows, thousands upon thousands of years old and even Taza who is four thousand, who don't have the same amount of strength as you do. I don't wish to ever step my bounds, but I just wish to know so that I might know how long my struggle would have to last to reach the plateau of strength you exist on."
Sojukin's eyes had glazed over after about half of that, his mind wasn't used to being so polite for so long and now blood lust was filling him as he rocked back and forth on his heels. He felt too much like an attack dog at his masters foot and stood up to ease that sensation. He hated to be used, but he knew for the moment he was nothing more than a piece on Death's universal chessboard.

There wasn’t anything good out of this situation. Every person Aiko had spoken with where just as curious about why the meeting had been called. He knew that it had to involve the appearance of the arrancar and the letter it had delivered; but what did the letter say? If Aiko had been one of the ones present when the arrancar reared its ugly head there wouldn’t have been any meeting, only systematic torture of the being until the info they needed had been extracted… that was ninth divisions job. Aiko sniffled and muttered to himself; Insulting the Arrancar, insulting the lack of defense, Insulting himself for not being there. Aiko was kneeling in his spot around the large table inside the captain’s room. It was the first time he had been in the room as a commander and the first time all responsibility of the eleventh division was on his shoulders. He hated the current situation, it was all so vague. Aiko had brought nothing with him but his wits. He had nothing drawn up and ready, after all how could he? No one knew what to bring and no one knew what was going on. Aiko had arrived, feeling completely unprepared right after sixth divisions fourth seat, who was sadly sixth divisions strongest surviving member officer.
Aiko had a hangover from the night before and was unsure if he was ready for captain duties. However when the meeting was called he knew he had no choice. So he Rushed to the captain’s room almost immediately. For the longest time Aiko had expected a promotion to captain, but he already knew sometimes it wasn’t that easy. There were leadership requirements as well as strength requirements. So this was Aiko’s chance to show his skills. His worth. He had made sure that whenever he was called into a meeting the eleventh division’s top seated officers would immediately assemble and ready for battle. This way if the eleventh was called forth Aiko could just give the word and his best men would come forth ready for the usual large scale ops. Over years Aiko had memorized all the tactics involved in these large operations and though every battle required new strategy Aiko himself was a tactical genius….with a hangover.
Aiko had became Vice Captain after the attack on Las Noches so he never was really familiar with what had happened. He heard rumors about what had gone down but figured, history was history. He did know that one since the Eleventh divisions captain was killed by a Horror Vacui named Chaos. The monster had sent cero through his captains chest ending her life in moments. As Aiko thought about it his tension began to rise. The frustration in the room was mixed with worry and wonder. Before Aiko lost it he received a light pat on the back from the Commander General. Aiko was the newest Vice Captain out of all of the divisions and he was relatively unknown. For him eh was the underdog. He had no options but to keep his composure, the General helped remind him of that.
Sitting there he looked around the room at the many recognizable faces of so many honorable shinigami. He was amazed how even in moments like this the captains could stay strong and set an example for the rest of the shinigami. Aiko did the same. As he waited for more and more Shinigami to file into the room he began to let his mind wander. He remembered how many eleventh division shinigami already looked at him as their leader and Aiko didn’t want to let them down but at the same time he kind of wished all the responsibility wasn’t on his shoulders alone. Either way, weather Aiko had to lead just him self into battle or all of division eleven. A battle was exactly what he was going to give the enemy. The problem was…at this point… No one knew who the enemy was.

A small blue haired teen was running through the streets of Karakura Town. As the young man ran through the streets with a speed no humans eyes could keep up with he dodged things; these ‘things’ were other people. The people the blue haired man was passing seemed petrified; this was because of what they were running from. In the distance behind the people were the sounds of explosions. The explosions where coming from a large cathedral building as hollow attacked the many inhabitants. Luckily for the old building those that lived inside it weren’t ordinary humans or even ordinary spirits… They were vizard, and so was the blue haired boy that was rushing from inside the city to defend his home.
Kaito had picked up the pace when the sounds of the explosion had come into ear shot. When he arrived he noticed a pillar of flame already engulfing the east portion of the building. Dozens of hollow were in the surrounding area. Some flying, some in the courtyard…some inside already. Kaito had no idea how long the battle had been going on for. He had seen smoke in the direction of the cathedral and when he noticed the hundreds of arrancar started to pour out of gargantia he knew something serious was going on. What really unnerved Kaito about this site was that there were a few ex-shinigami, a few bounts and even humans fighting alongside the arrancar. Kaito materialized his zanpakutou and drew the blade. His wits were still about him as he had learned from many years of experience that panic only amplified the situation. His goal now was get inside the cathedral and make head count.
He was already beginning to notice that his brethren were holding off well against the enemy but surely wouldn’t last in a continuous assault. Kaito’s thoughts were interrupted by a cocky hollow that obviously had no idea what Kaito was. Raising his blade in an upward arc Kaito cut the creatures arm in half and then Houtai connected with the hollows throat severing the main artery, by the time blood was leaving the things throat Kaito was already on to his next victim. Kaito was walking now, moving through low rank hollow like a hot knife through butter. When one would get in his way he would take a moment, kill it, and keep moving. Only once did Kaito falter on his way into the cathedral and that was when he had spotted an adjuchas class hollow pin a female vizard momentarily to one of the cathedrals stone pillars. It was only momentary due to Kaito flash stepping his way to the beast and releasing the girl, who quickly made her way back into the fighting.
Kaito entered the open door of the cathedral and immediately noticed a few things. For one the usually messy lobby was a down right disaster. A few humans’ bodies lay in shambles bleeding out on the floor in front of him. Kaito made his way down the hall sheathing his zanpakutou. He waited towards the back for the more experienced vizard to show. Hopefully once they were united the syndicate could figure out what the hell was going on.

Oketsu was in his library, he'd taken a break from being at the Brotherhood stronghold, there was nothing good to read there, and Faith had asked him to stay, so how could he refuse? Oketsu and Faith sat together on the couch, reading over some of the newer arrivals to the library that Oketsu hadn't yet had a chance to read. It was relaxing, which was a welcome change to the norm he was growing ever increasingly expectant of. Things had been going out of control everywhere, the NWO attack, the Brotherhood's own internal leadership shift and the slowly mounting pressure for action to be taken, not to mention his own run in with Desmae not that long ago, he was glad to finally have a moment to rest and relax while the world carried on around him.
A sudden crashing sound outside signalled to Oketsu that was not to be the case today, however. As he and Faith ran to the window to look outside, two large hollows were lead by a man who Faith pointed out wore a mask just like Oketsu. Vaizards working with hollows? I thought all the Vaizards apart from myself in this area worked for Ashley...unless...[/i] Faith turned to Oketsu with a terrified stare that told Oketsu she was worried, "Oketsu...who are they? What do they want?"[/b] Oketsu sighed and managed a weak smile, looking down on the girl he had raised from her youth, this telltale sign of her fear reminding him that she was still only human. "It's not much Faith, you know hollows, they are nothing to worry about. The man, well he's just like me, but probably not as strong."[/b] Oketsu finished this last line with a wink which drew forth a smile from Faith as she moved into the centre of the library. "Shall I protect the library then Oketsu?"[/b] Waving his hand and nodding, Oketsu walked over to the front door, unsheathing Genesis as he did. "Mhm, and keep the barrier up until I say so, I'll call you."[/b] Oketsu held up the small black phone that Faith had bought him upon his return, and took out the hands free set and plugged it into the phone, and his ears.
"Call, school, main phone line."[/b] Oketsu's phone registered his voice, and run through a series of beeps before it began to ring, and as it did Oketsu opened the door and walked outside to meet the three who were steadily approaching his library home. "Oi, ugly. Why don't you and your hollow friends come over here, you'll get more fun fighting me then you would blowing up cars and buildings, I guarantee it."[/b] Oketsu stepped forward as a shining white dome surrounded his library, Faith was getting to work, and Oketsu now could only hope that the Brothehood would answer his call, he needed to know what was going on, and soon.

Kuroi strolled through the corridors towards where the explosion had sounded. She honestly didn't care what it was, she was bored and wanted to kill things, and if an explosion meant there were things to kill, then did she ever intend on making the most of it. As she approached the area the sound had come from she saw Victoria running up to a window and shouting out asking what was going on. Kuroi could tell if Victoria was worried like this, then something was serious. Which was good, all the more fun for her.
She drew forth the ancient tome from her hip, which was already trembling with excitement, and raised one hand before her, "Zeige Dich, Akumu!"[/b] A black mist escaped the book, and from it rose the nighmarish figure of Akumu, who stretched his arms and floated close to Kuroi's face. "You don't bring me out often enough girl, I get bored in that book..."[/b][/i] Kurio gave a faint wave of her hand and gestured for him to follow her as they walked towards Victoria, just as a nearby group of people pulled masks over their faces, preparing for combat. Kuroi smiled and drew her own mask from her side and pulled it over her face. "We're here Victoria, and for once you've got something interesting for us I see. Well, tell me what you wish and I'll go kill it, you've been keeping me stuffed up in here long enough, the black princess sings again tonight, but it's up to you what she sings, no?"[/b] Kurio ran her hands through her hair before drawing her shield and sword, and pointing her blade towards the group who were steadily advancing upon them. "Well, shall we?"[/b]

Sin did not have the time for calculated movements at the moment. He had sensed countless portals to Hueco Mundo opening, and spilling forth all manner of demons into the human world. This was far from the best possible event that could take place, as he could tell that these were not his hollows, that someone was behind this, and he had a good idea who. But, he had not the time for this, as he flew over Tokyo, he spotted a human religious building, tall and majestic, and wreathed in flames as it was beset by hostile forces.
Sin could sense great power in here, and the fact they were fighting against those who had entered through the portals meant they weren't on the side of the Horror Vacui, which meant they could be allies. Sin landed atop the cathedral, and studied the scene below. Humans and hollows fought alongside eachother to battle masked men and women with strange, hollow-like reiatsu. In all his years, Sin had never encountered something like these masked warriors, he would have to question Anar on the nature of these fighters. However, he did not wish to see these masked fighters overwhelmed, and thus sent out a single command to all the hollows in the area. The Vaizard's would feel it too if they were wearing their masks, but chances are, this was already their overriding goal. Defend the building and those inside.[/i]
The command was sent, and the feral hollows in the area would have their senses overridden by a drive to defend the Vaizard's and their home, which would inevitably lead them to turn on their human allies. From atop the roof, Sin scanned around, he couldn't quite tell the numbers of either side, but he had made up his mind which side he was going to aid, and it would be wise to announce as such before he were killed by them. He sent a telepathic message to all the masked warriors in the area whose reiatsu he could sense as being masked [So any vaizard without their mask will not hear him] in the hope of proving his alliance to their cause. "I am Sin, of an empire deep within Hueco Mundo, I come now to aid you, masked warriors, and am at your service."[/i][/b]
Sin leapt from the roof top and roared, in doing so the gem around his neck began to glow, thus instead of a massive dragon landing among the Vaizard's, it was the skeletal pharoah, surrounded by blowing sands which withered the grass around him as he walked. He would wait to see if his offer of alliance was accepted before turning his powers onto their attackers, for he would hate to be fighting a battle on both sides, millenia of life had taught him that was far from an optimal event.

Rin walked into the meeting room, for once not immediately calling out the old man upon entering; the entire mood was one of unusual seriousness, and the man wouldn’t call an unscheduled meeting for no reason. Besides, she knew about the arrancar that delivered a letter to the commander – and was allowed to get away, someone screwed up there. Death had made his move, and now it was a matter of if they could deal with whatever Death had concocted. Even her zanpakuto sprits were behaving, actually recognising the seriousness of the situation.
She moved to her seat, taking a quick glance at Makkuro; he still looked saddened over that….incident with those arrancar, but at least he looked better than last time she saw him. It would take time, but he would eventually find his own means of dealing with the grief – she would rather not lose another captain, they needed all the power they could get right now, and he was one of the few captains that she was sure was sane.
Is that really why you want him to stick around?
Don’t start.
By the way, did you tell Kubi where you were going?
………..Oh shi-
-
It was quite the night at Tokyo – they were throwing a grand festival unannounced in the city, with fireworks and streamers, and so many performers. Reina would have missed it if she didn’t pick up on the gigantic mass of gargantas opening. But now, she had VIP seating at the beginning of an all out war – vizards, hollows, humans, quincies, all fighting each other, it was such lovely bliss. The only thing ruining it really was what this attack meant. Death was making his move, luring everyone into a grand battle royale, and while she had no problems with everyone killing each other, the last thing she needed was Death coming out on top.
She wasn’t an idiot, and she saw the Horror Vacui in action when they destroyed the shinigami captains. She was still feeling massive jealousy issues at the ceros that giant guy was throwing around – she was the god of ceros damnit! How dare he take her calling sign! And he even had ridiculous speed – was nothing sacred?!
Ah well, she couldn’t do anything about that for now. She had to bide her time, Death had all the makings of an overconfident, arrogant egomaniac – sooner or later he had his group would do something idiotic, and he would get himself either killed, or weakened enough for her to swoop in and finish the job. I’m a way, this was quite perfect; a lot of people she didn’t like were going to die, and she had a perfect view. Then when everyone was weakened, she could just have her little army clean up the mess.
Come on little monkeys, give me a show to remember. Fortunately, she got here early enough to raid the snack stores before they got destroyed – she had a small mountain of candies, popcorn, soda, and sake. Not the cheap stuff either, this was the grade A stuff. She wasn’t particularly worried about being attacked, after all Death was hanging out at the Tokyo Tower, and from her central spot she was fully capable of sensing the action everywhere in real time. With the reiastu getting thrown around, it was like a split screen, gigantic high-def TV. The only real issues were the arrancar that knew her; which was pretty much Taza and Sojukin; one was too focused on killing Death to care, and Sojukin would prefer to watch the world burn with her - this was too good to waste by fighting each other, they could do that whenever. Killing shinigami though…… that was the main performance that she was waiting for.

The meeting room was invaded once again by another tall figure. This one, however, was covered exclusively in black robes and lacked the white distinctive cape most of the others did.
“I, Yasuo Funanori, will be representing the 5th Division today as the highest ranking officer available!” He exclaimed with a serious and far from cheerful expression. His energy while making his claim was very clearly an artificial one.
The young pirate’s usual excessive and very annoying extroverted spirit was nowhere to be found at this point. The tall man was instead standing like a professional member of the army and many would expect his hand to suddenly rise towards his forehead aggressively. Instead, his body bent at his hips and his head was lowered past his waist. Even when he sat down in his Captain’s seat, he still remained as strictly firm as he did when he entered the room.
The reason why this always expressive and eccentric individual was now as serious as he could be (in his own way), could not be attributed to only one thing. Firstly, there was the immense respect he felt towards Captains; usually the presence of one was enough to change his usual character (except for Laetita, who he had known back when she still was a Vice-Captain and who he could never accept as any kind of officer). But now he was surrounded by more than one and the effect was also greater. As other officers in the room like him, he had to prove himself to everyone, including the Commander General, but he didn’t feel ready at all.
Secondly, the seriousness of the situation required him to act more professionally at a moment like this, and even though many would assume someone like Yasuo would not respond to something like that like a real pirate would, he knew when to have some consideration.
However, the heaviest reason was the uncomfortable sensation he had when he entered the room. There were many reasons why everyone in the room would not just dislike him, but despise him. The situation they were in probably wouldn’t be so critical if it wasn’t for him and his inability to do justice to his position as a leader of the Inner Defense Division. Some of the people in the room probably suffered losses due to the attack of the Espada, now a relatively long time ago, in which his Division didn't take part to the extent it should because he took too long to notice the attack. He didn’t even take part in the attack to Hueco Mundo that came after it, of course all under the his superior's argument of him being in the Inner Defense Division and hence not in position for an attack. Now an Arrancar had been able to go into Soul Society without much difficulties, which showed he wasn’t making much progress as the leader of the 5th Division. This thought had been tormenting him for a while now and he didn’t have many people he could share this guilt with. He did wonder how he hadn’t been demoted or even punished by now. He was now facing people who could very well hold an inmense grudge against him, but he had no idea on what to do. He had always wished for his name to be known by everyone in the entire Soul Society, and the turn of events proved that fate had a sense of irony.
Without meeting eyes with anybody, though, he remained in his seat, looking with lost eyes at an empty space on the table in front of him. He had to make amendments and now was the moment, so he was determined to, for once in his life, do things right and listen to the Commander General with close attention the moment he began to assess the situation in detail for everyone.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Explosions could be heard from every single direction. The eye could not find a spot that wasn’t filled with violence and destruction; the ear could not listen anything without the sound of collapsing buildings and explosions as background noise; and the nose could catch a scent that wasn’t polluted by the smell of ash and dust. This was what Garve imagined hell would be like, although he had never really been there and most of the information he had on it was quite vague. Though it was the first time he had seen it to this scale, he hadn’t been surprised to a significant extent. Be it the massacre or be it the unified army of Arrancar and Hollow, there was nothing in that battle field that really called his attention, and hence he felt absolutely no incentive that would push him towards the fight.
He wasn’t needed yet, but even if he was, he probable wouldn’t move a finger from his spot nonetheless. He was far from the Horror Vacui and the other Espada, somewhere on the border of the battlefield, with no more company than his always present Fracción, Xifan. The two enjoyed a chess game that Garve thought was more interesting than what was going on around them and created a small bubble of contradictory calmness around him. Even Xifan, who was not on a higher level than the average Fracción, was able to concentrate on the game rather than the Apocalypse unfolding around them. Alter a long pause, Garve, who had been sitting in a rough lotus position with his elbow on his knee and his head resting heavily on his hand, raised his other hand and moved one piece from one place to another without saying a single word. His expression seemed the same as always, but Xifan noticed something, and he probably was the only one capable of doing so.
“Garve-sama, is something on your mind?” the Asian-looking Fracción, who was sitting on the other extreme of the portable board in a manner typical to his culture, murmured in curiosity. He moved one of his pieces over the one Garve had let go seconds ago.
“You can tell?” Garve responded, smiling at the fatal mistake he had just made. Xifan didn’t respond, which always meant an affirmative answer; Garve was a person of few words, but Xifan was even more quiet than he was. “I was thinking how unrealistic this game is.” He grabbed a bishop from his side of the board and raised it to the level of of their heads. “In this game you are either black or white, and your only objective is to defeat the other side’s king, whatever the cost, do you see anything wrong with that?”
“It’s just a game, Garve-sama,” Xifan answered, watching Garve leave the bishop in a cell and instantly claiming ‘check’ in his turn.
“Look at the war we are in right now, for example”, Garve continued his explanation, ignoring his partner and moving away his king to a different, safe location. “There aren’t white and black pieces, there are always more than two sides, like Shinigami and Arrancar. And you will never find a side with all the pieces of the same color either.”
“And what do you mean by that?” Xifan allowed his master to continue this trail of thought without interruption and faked interest.
“A pawn is not always on the side of the king because it is loyal, sometimes they just want to get to the other side of the board and become a different, stronger piece and accomplish their own objectives”. Garve continued, as if he wasn’t realizing his king was being cornered by Xifan. “And where do traitors go? If Taza was a piece, would he be a gray one? Sojukin would probably be the only loyal figure on this board; or maybe one of the pawns I just told you about, I don’t really care anyways”.
“Hmm, I see” Xifan dropped those empty words, though always looking at the board and moving his pieces with precision and quickness. “Then, if I may ask, what are you, Garve-sama?”
Garve smiled again at his Fracción’s question, making evident he had been expecting it. Typical of Xifan, he always asked the right questions. “I am a pawn with a target.”
“A pawn with a target?” Xifan repeated, this time interested in what Garve was saying.
“Yes, that one, to be precise”, he claimed, pointing at the white tower on Xifan’s side of the board. He then pointed at the queen. “Well, maybe now it’s that one. Another difference between chess and reality is that you don’t need to be a pawn to become a queen.”
“And may I ask what for?” Xifan continued to corner Garve’s king with proffessional skill.
“That depends on the white piece” Garve answered, finally positioning his king at a corner and completely restricting its movements. “The ultimate goal is to get out of the board.”
“I see”, Xifan responded again. “That’s an interesting position”.
“Well, you are free to have your own opinion I guess.” Garve finally manager to get rid of the bishop that had been following his king all this time along with a tower, which brought a smile to his face. “Maybe a more realistic chess would be more interesting.”
Without a moment of hesitation, Xifan moved the white queen in front of the black king, with a tower defending it from far behind. “Checkmate” he claimed without any further comments.
“Bah, I was never good at chess anyways…” Garve responded, pretending to be interested in a nearby explosion. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ((OOC: Notice reference to Torre))

The entire situation seemed rather absurd in the mind of former vice-captain of Squad Two, Azuka Tsuno. Having already passed the Captain proficiency test, this additional pile of paperwork seemed awkward for a first assignment within the utmost elite rank of the Gotei 13 handed out by the Commander-General himself, but regardless the newly appointed squad captain continued to fill out the sheets and complete this assessment with the same diligence he had prepared himself for after many years serving as his division's second-on-command and spend the past weeks as de facto leader not only from his official runner-up position within the Gotei 13 but also within the Onmitsukido. The past few weeks were only a terrible mess of nightmarish bureaucratic transition like he had known plenty of times in the past that had highlighted Tsuno's rise in power from a most prestigious nobody all the way up to his current seat as the dual-captain position of the combined Squad Two and Onmitsukido. He had worked hard for his position for nearly three hundred years, and though it would be hard to tell with his sunglasses on, the occasional glance over to fellow former-vice-captain and newly-appointed-captain Laetitia reminded himself how much he despised that woman. She was savage and ruthless, uncaring and psychotic, irresponsible and a disgrace to hold the same authority as himself, his his opinion. She showed up one day from origins unknown, proved to be able to fight... correction, torture with such proficiency while enjoying every second of it that her former captain chose her as his second, and now she's here where he had to bare countless challenges and come face-to-face with death countless times, and mourn the deaths of even more beloved comrades to secure his position. If only she weren't so damn proficient at keeping the twisted brutality she exemplified so perfectly under the radar, he'd have solid evidence to keep her locked away for the well being of Soul Society as a whole. Fellow captain be damned, he hated her. Regardless, he did not let his hatred of that woman interfere with his duties, and only when Kuatura, survivor of the former First Division's Katayama vice-captain duo, barge into the room bringing urgent news, did Tsuno actually stop working at his usual pace. Luckily, he was almost finished the massive administrative nightmare when Commander-General Irashi decided to dismiss the session and call a Captain's Meeting. His very first official Captain's Meeting, Tsuno was eager and anxious and even a tiny bit afraid but above all else, proud that he was now officially accepted as one of the shining beacons of Soul Society's leadership rather than the Second Division's hidden shadow among the shadows. - The NWO has been facing a series of rather unpleasant loses as of late... No! Not loses, the NWO never loses, is only ever set back! We are invincible, I am invincible, the Boss is invincible! Everything will burn before our Boss' unstoppable vision of a pure world! Every enemy of the Boss will burn in hell! BURN! BURN! BURN EVERYONE WHO OPPOSES US! HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH! Daniel Conrad was not in the least bit pleased with the current situation his faction was facing following a father tragic series of events that had worked against them in his absence due to being deployed on that previous assignment nearly halfway around the world. Sitting in his own quarters within the NWO's main facility, reading the report of the research facility that had recently been destroyed when one of its major test subjects got loose, and learning of multiple failed attempts at crushing a ragtag band of tainted souls who were deemed too powerful to let live, he quickly underwent a temporary lapse of teeming madness that occurred the moment his logical assessment of his own faction's mortality clashed with his own insane, fanatical devotion the idea that the NWO was an unstoppable force backed by the will of the enigmatic Richard Mallory, who he only referred to as The Boss, or occasionally the militant arm of God himself. And if in Daniel's mind, The Boss was the arm of God, then in his own mind he himself would be the gun in that arm's hand. Daniel was unable to process the reality of the greater forces at work for the time being, but that was overall the result of not having enough enemies to slaughter at his fullest potential since being granted new power from his God in the form of his rebuilt body and highly advanced armor. The moment intruders were detected inside the base, the already geared up Battle Operative's overloading brain went blank with a single command in mind, kill. Slaughter every single enemy that crossed his line of fire until nothing but purity remained. - Days turned to weeks and nearly months since the last major crisis was over and even still much of Soul Society was still shaken to some extent. Since recovering in the Fourth Squad's barracks, and being assigned under Captain Sai... Saigots... being assigned to Squad Ten under Captain Yun, Takeshi was eager to prove himself and to sent a message that he would be worth the hassle everyone had went through to bring him back to safety. He felt more welcome in Squad Ten then he did back at the Academy, perhaps because even though he was new and at the bottom of the barrel here, he wasn't surrounded by the tight-assed cunts who though themselves better than him just because of his looks, or his social reclusiveness, or that they were the high-bred sons and daughters of whatever nobody-gives-a-shit noble families and he was just a street urchin from Rukongai. Here, everyone was above that self-delusional bullshit that tainted the Academy. Even if he was the newest member of the squad, the least experienced and probably not all that powerful compared to his new peers despite being one of the best from the Academy, he was able to feel at least somewhat welcome. He was pleased to know that he was actually somewhat high in power for someone his age, ranking in at an equivalent to roughly a 5th-seat officer, but his lack of experience, and communication and leadership skills were enough to ensure that he was unlikely to actually be appointed a seated position for some time still. And that was perfectly fine, he was just a rookie and needed to work his way up from the dirt to the heavens. Maybe because Yun had done so much to make Squad Ten feel so modern and advanced compared to the old-school traditional feel that most of the other squads had going that cotributed to Takeshi feeling to at home within the Crypt, despite the rather brooding name. Without getting too fancy like among Squad Twelve, which resembled something out of a science-fiction movie, Squad Ten seemed just perfect, and he had every intention to carry out his duty serving Squad Ten however his rather awesome captain deemed fit, and with the sudden announcement of a Captain's Meeting being held, maybe the change to prove himself would appear sooner than anticipated. Takeshi Sasoku grinned devilishly as he awaited further developments. - Inside the school, the enemies were sudden and fast, but even the weakened state of Galihan within his gigai was able to keep up with the vizard invaders the moment they had revealed their ambush, for now. Like a circle of oxen protecting their young, Galihan stood surrounded by his three loyal companions whose bare fists and swift kicks were capable of repelling even armed swordsmen while their master fired specially altered bala from his fingertips to resemble the spirit arrows of a Quincy to finish them off. "What the hell's going on here?" The young Alegria shouted out as the quartet broke apart and began fighting individual adversairies, pummeling her clenched fist into a vizard's chest, though a sudden shove pushed her away from the blade of a second foe's blade, who with his mask drawn would have been rather damaging to any of them in their current gigais. "Ae dunno, 'ow bout we whoop these basterds an' figure it out?" Temor replied, landing a series of spinning kicks and knifehand strikes that shattered the attackers mask and left him out cold on the ground but that wasnt enough for the teenage-looking arrancar in disguise, who continued to brutally pummel his enemy to a bloody mess until a gentle thwack from the staff of Galihan to the back of his fraccion's head snapped him out of his frenzy, and a cold glare from the face of a child sent a clear enough message. "That's enough, I thought I taught you to control that pent up rage, like so," Galihan chided as he wound up and batted away one more charging enemy that attempted to ambush him, who was knocked onto his back, into a corner, donning a mask and beginning to charge a red ball of energy that would have caused serious damage to the building if fired. "And if you must follow up with a finishing strike, make it clean and efficient." He added as he charged the downed foe, his staff's tip disintegrating to reveal a glistening blade inside that skewered the palm of the vizard's hand, and after a twist Galihan ran his hidden blade down the arm and across the enemy's chest, causing the cero to disperse harmlessly and killing the opponent in the process. Galihan wiped the blood from his zanpakuto's tip, which resealed itself inside of its staff-shaped scabbard as the child bowed his head in prayer to pardon having slain again. "Are these guys really Syndicate? Let's find Victoria-sama and figure out what the hell's happening!" - Everything was joyous and peaceful for once since the incident, despite the tense attitude of nearly everybody and smell of sulfur and death that still lingered in the air above Squad Ten's Crypt and the rubble of that Lunar Gate contraption Yun pulled out of his ass to save those children. Even if only one of them actually moved on to become a member of the Gotei 13, in Yun's Tenth Division ironically, where the other two ended up scarred and traumatized beyond repair and retired together into Rukongai in solitude or something like that. Those details were obscure and unimportant to the Twelfth Division's captain, what really mattered to him was analyzing whatever date was able to be salvaged from the whole fiasco on these Horror Vacui hooligans who decided to make a right unpleasant mess of everything. It was a shame that Minoru was only able to get a partial reading on this Silence Cradle woman who had done a splendid job at leaving his trustworthy vice-captain a bloody wreck, if only for a short while. Metal shutters were closed over the windows and the door was sealed to Captain Daichi's office which was essentially in lockdown, though he himself preferred to call it "Private Mode", in which only Hana knew the passcode to access the intercom and asides from that the room was dimly-lit green from the massive monitor that made up most of the wall and countless other screens were blinking and running millions of randomly sequencing numerals in a half-dozen different alphabets like some Wachowski-brothers movie. Suddenly, as if with eyes on the back of his head, Minoru spun around from his seated position in the middle of the floor and with the wave of his hand, all the processing data came to a halt. The middle-aged shinigami scooted over to examine one particular screen for a good twenty seconds only to sigh and yawn at the same time. "God damnit," Minoru groaned as he waved another gesture which turned on the lights as he proceeded to pour himself a drink which while resembled coffee was probably more akin to a heavily spiked Irish Cream, which he sipped on as he rubbed his watery-gray eyes rather tiredly after having gone practically the past week without any sleep due to his devotion to making some sort of progress analyzing the traces of reiatsu that were collected from the first contact with their new enemy. Results were not being very plentiful, even for Captain Daichi. "What the heck's up with these guys? It's like the aren't even really arrancar, as if they're just something... more. I've met my fair share of messed up stuff, but this just feels... wrong..." It was then that a buzzing on the sealed door signified that Hana was trying to get in touch with the captain through the intercom. "Mini-sama! Mini-sama! Old Kazoo's calling for you! Captain's meeting, or something like that... eww, you look grumpy like you haven't had a hug in forever, do you need a hug? I think you need a hug." Minoru was in no way surprised at his vice-captain when he opened the door and walked on by the boy who only he and Yun knew was actually so, rather than a cute little girl like everyone else assumed. Minoru was used to ignoring the oddness of the residential nutcase so he just kept on his way disregarding everything Hana had said asides from that the Commander-General was calling a meeting for all the captains, probably to have another discussion about their current situation. Too bad forces were unfolding in the Human World faster than Minoru was anticipating and things weren't nearly as peaceful there as they were here in Soul Society. Upon arriving at the old man's meeting room, Minoru took his seat and look about lazily, probably not representing his squad very brightly if anyone was to judge the captain on pristine presentation. While most of the captains present would understand that Minoru had been locked away in his quarters trying to uncover some hidden secret behind the Horror Vacui, lots of squads were having to be represented by lower seated officers, some as low as fourth-seat even, and probably wouldn't be expecting their first viewings of a Captains' Meeting to have Daichi show up looking disheveled and sleep-depraved. Oh well, things must have really been more dire than the Minoru anticipated for the younguns' to be here.

OOC: Will post for other characters if necessary later. But for now this will have to do.
These past few weeks had not been easy for the New World Order. After years of apparent dominance and complete superiority they had hit a brick wall, the first being the Brotherhood that had proven much more potent than they could ever have thought possible. Then just a few weeks later Y1, or Jager had somehow attained intelligence and escaped one of the NWO's most highly secured facilities built with the sole purpose of keeping IT in, and to top it off it had escaped with unknown data that had been stored in the facility at the time as well. And now to top things of their main HQ was suddenly and without warning under attack... If he didn't know better Richard would have thought the wrath of God was upon him, but that was just silly nonsense, there was no God and even if there was his mission was just!
Swiping the beeping PDA from the white metal table next to him Richard pretty much already knew what was going on as alarms had begun to blare throughout the facility and the large screen behind him had lit up with security footage of the attack... Had he not already seen things he'd considered impossible he might have been visibly shaken by this revelation but Richard had already known that Shinigami and Hollow were the same, it was merely a matter of time until they started showing their true colors. What was surprising and not just a little aggravating was that they had somehow found the location of the main HQ, someone inside the organization must have leaked the information... But who? Realizing he didn't have time to devote thought to who might have betrayed him right at this moment Richard immediately ran out of the large lab that had long served as Richard's personal workshop, and with the exception of Derrick, Reginald, Katherine and the other Commanders, only Harue had been inside of the perfectly clean white room.
With automated doors sliding open with a slight mechanical hiss as he approached and quickly closing and locking behind him Richard made his way past a dozen dull grey corridors only lit up by blue streaks on the floor, part of the system channelling reiatsu throughout the massive underground facility and one of the few places they were visible without removing secured containments, before he reached a perfectly circular room that apart from the dim light produced by the reiatsu power lines in the corridor behind it was completely black though the silhouettes of dozens of computer displays being fitted across the entire room was easy to see. The moment Richard entered this room the door behind him closed leaving the room in complete darkness for a few seconds before a soft hum began to sound from the massive super computer in front of him, as the screens all lit up and came to life showing nearly every major security feed in the facility along with detailed data on Soldier status and the positions of active Special Operatives and hundreds of other statistics. Sitting down in the tall-backed leather seat in the centre of the room Richard immediately began to type away furiously at the main console as the ten screens right in front of him changed to the areas most heavily under attack. After roughly thirty seconds a silent message was send across the NWO communications network to anyone in the vicinity of the invasion zones telling them to pull back immediately as a direct order from The President.
It soon became obvious why, because a scant thirty seconds after the message had been sent a deep rumbling could be heard all around the many corridors where the Shinigami and Hollow were making their way through as parts of the wall suddenly crashed down when massive one meter thick blast-doors closed ahead of the attackers and roughly thirty meters further back in the corridor the same happened there, the second pair of doors crushing a shinigami trying to get through before they closed. It appeared as if Richard had built in a second pair of much more powerful blast doors, covered by a thin layer of concrete or weaker metals throughout the facility which he could command at will from his command post in the HQ... Though that wasn't all, as while the Shinigami and hollow were busy trying to get out they never noticed the gas that seeped into the now completely airtight corridors, before they were suddenly ignited. Multiple explosions rocketed the west portion of the facility, the doors that had been able to hold out against the attackers had nearly been blown off their hinges by the force of the explosions and nothing remained of the attackers caught within. However these were not the only tricks Richard had in his bag, oh no, these invaders would soon learn that in the New World Orders Headquarters, he was God.

The captains of the Gotei 13 had assembled such as they were, one had to but look at the number of seats filled with vice-captains or even seated members to realize the dire straights they found themselves in. Kazuma had of course considered some of them for their captains position but for those like Sagara it would have been to much and others like Aiko simply had yet to be proven. Tsuno had been a sensible captain being a long time member and a capable follower, Laetitia had simply been the prudent one. He hoped that in the coming days some of them might prove themselves as even the Central 46 were at a loss of who to put forward. Even if they weren't completely captain material they might start putting some forward regardless as having captains, even unprepared ones, would aid morale tremendously.
With them there he began without delay, “Some of you may have heard. For those who haven't about twenty minutes ago an Arrancar penetrated our defenses. However it simply left a message with us and disappeared, here it is.”
He put the envelope which was just a plain white folded paper down on the desk between them, this would allow anyone to pick it up. Though it was hard to say if anyone would actually be uncouth enough to snatch it away in the middle of the speech with the others present. At the very least Laetitia seemed unconcerned about retrieving it and Yun seemed willing to just wait to hear was Kazuma had to say. The Commander General then began speaking again but it was in a recitation voice one would use when giving a speech, seemed he had memorized what it said.
“Dear Shinigami of the Gotei 13, We the Dominus of the Horror Vacui bid you a fine greeting! We know you are curious of our motives and in all likelihood do not wish for a battle between us. Because of this we propose a meeting as we believe we have worked out an answer to this dilemma.”
Kazumas voice grew a bit angrier as he continued, the next section being far more vaguely hostile, “Because we are aware of our power differences only one of us will be attending, though we will of course bring our retainers for logistical purposes. Please bring those with you that you believe will be of aid to better business politicking to Tokyo Tower at 1PM local time.
Have a pleasant day, The Arrancar of Las Noches.”
Kazuma moved back and forth as if aggravated the reason of course being obvious. For a month they had been unsure of how to proceed but they certainly were planning on how to eliminate this new foe. Then this message came, and while it may have expounded peace only a fool truly expected that to be the case. If anything the wording had showcased the true nature of the Arrancar. Still that had to be on purpose since if they were that good with words then they could easily have written a less provocative message as a trap. This didn't seem to be a trap since they weren't really hiding their animosity but instead seemed to be purposefully prodding the Shinigami without being outright aggressive. Also choosing to do this in the real world showed they wanted to cause harm as if for whatever reason they had truly peaceful motives they would have attempted a more neutral ground where the charges under the shinigami were not put in danger.
He was about to continue when the doors to the room came open and Kuatura appeared once again. Any of the long time captains would have recognized the data slate from twelfth division he had in his hand. He nodded to the captains but proceeded straight to Kazuma who took the slate, viewed it and sighed before putting it down on the table between them too. It showed the sudden surge of Arrancar in the Tokyo area.
“All of you prepare anyone who is in top shape, we need defensive and offensive teams. We will also need to utilize Tenth and Twelfths senkaimon on top of Thirds to get as many soldiers into the field as quickly as possible when the word is sent. I will be going to meet the Horror Vacui, Saigotschuu and Daichi will be coming with me. Set up your divisions then come back. I'll need both of you present if things go badly and especially if there are others of their group waiting to strike, of course I also want you there to observe firsthand and see if you can spot weaknesses in our foe.”
He sighed, “Make no mistake, I think we once more march to war and remember we're going to the human world, tell your subordinates to keep damage to a minimum. But in the end the immediate elimination of these opponents before they can make another move is also our duty as leaders. These are my orders, all divisions prepare for operational status.”

Richard was probably still feeling pretty cocky about his momentary victory, he shouldn't have been. Several hollows and shinigami escaped the lockdown and subsequent purge but not nearly enough to face the regrouped NWO on the other side. In seconds with the exception of one or two standouts they were wiped away allowing the defenders to group their fire onto the more dangerous foes. However just as things were looking up the large door which had capped the explosion off went bright white. A large hole was seared right into the center before a rush of steam and reiatsu came straight at the first wave of retaliating soldiers, eliminating them in the process.
Behind the hole the raging flames were still going strong from Richards attack. However five figures of various proportions came waltzing from within looking none the worse for wear, three hollows and two shinigami. One excessively large hollow immediately launched for the defenders, it just so happened Daniel happened to be the one in its way, though it did not seem to have much beyond strength it didn't seem that was something to laugh at either as it could probably have crushed the still semi-human man with its large body.
A single shinigami with long brown hair pulled into a messy ponytail and looking all to cocksure of himself took center stage. He held a long cylindrical object toward the nearest group of soldiers and it spun for a brief second as an black monocle on a motor lowered over his left eye. The same bright white light from before filled the room and the next moment the half-dozen soldiers he had aimed at simply weren't there anymore. The monocle raised and the man smiled, “Alright, ten whores to the man who brings me their leaders head!” he yelled before the group behind him charged the line of basic NWO grunts. Hopefully Richard had more defenses because anyone with spiritual sense could tell Daniel was the only one here capable of taking these individuals on, but certainly not all of them by himself.
Meanwhile outside the complex Reginald and a small fleet of helicopters landed. They had been on an away mission when the call had come in and they returned quickly, he had seen the streets populated with spirits on the flight but right now headquarters took precedence. They were unloading Tank as well as two other units of armor when a mighty roar sounded out from the outer walls. Reginald immediately ordered the Mistress Leina to the air and not a second to soon as the nearest wall collapsed and instantly the two other helicopters on the pad were sent hurtling through the air. Dozens of small dog like hollow came flooding through surrounding a giant that could only be called an even more armored rhinoceros.
The soldiers exchanged fire pounding the weak hollows but for every one they eliminated, two took its place and they were already ripping through the far more finite number of soldiers. Tank was whipping around to the side, chewing through hollow with her machine guns and trying to train her main cannon on the large one that had run clear across the opening and slammed into the main building before turning. Reginald began issuing orders over the radio before he caught up to the backside of Tank and jumped on before walking to her front, he wasn't to worried about being exposed since his foes seemed purely of the physical sort, and experience had taught him tactics weren't their deal.
Tank let off a round into the large hollow which blew a large chunk out of its right-flank. Unfortunately they soon realized this was almost entirely armor and very little if any real damage had been done. However it did draw the beasts attention as it rounded on them, it was only now that Reginald saw a shinigami standing on top of its head as something of a pilot. Of course the man was huge and buff, so it wasn't like they could just take the hollow out and that would be that. The shinigami now spotting them as well held his zanpakutou out at them and let out a roar before the hollow charged them.
“Want to hit it with your sword?” Tank asked.
“No think we should shoot this one...” Reginald returned.
Tank paused for a moment as the opponent continued to charge, “All this machismo is giving me cooties, I swear if you take your shirt off and yell back I'm setting you on fire.”

“Hello. This is the Brotherhood base of operations, we can't currently come to the phone right now because-”
A young boy gave a blood curdling scream over the phone as his leg was crushed, then the phone was hung up. A dark skinned boy with curly brown hair, a swagger, a French accent and an obscene fur coat had been the one to answer the phone. The other Vizard were moving about him and going where he pointed marking him clearly as the leader. Breaking in had been simple enough as they hadn't been prepared and the few actually on guard had been nothing. Still stronger members had retreated and were keeping them from proceeding further while it seemed at least two stronger individuals, one obviously their leader, had actually fallen in behind. The Vizard seemed to be aware of this and his expression momentarily grew grim, then he brightened a bit before kicking the human boy below him in the head sending him careening into a wall.
“OK!” The Vizard clapped his hands together, “All you ruffians go help them with the leader out front, I'll continue the work here.”
---------
While Sin might be willing to wait and see if the defending Vizard listened to him the attackers were not. As soon as his command was issued several of the lesser hollows turned on their seeming comrades, but just as quickly a dozen of them were struck down by an unseen source. For the briefest moment Sin might note a differentiation in the grounds appearance below him but it was gone in a split second and even if he attacked on instinct whatever had been there was gone.
A voice echoed out even while several Vizard continued to battle other hollows that had not been put under Sins control below, it carried a serpentine lisp. “Ahhh – Sssssin, we were sssss-told you might interfere. All posssssible reactions have been predicted and accounted for. You included...”
A bolt of lightning struck out at Sins back, if it hit it would not do terrible damage but it would hurt. The bigger problem was that even if Sin struck back at the source there was again nothing there and all the while the battle continued below. Sin wouldn't be of much use to anyone if he died or the Vizard perished before he could find the attacker.
And while Sin looked for the invisible opponent the inside of the cathedral was no less dangerous. Though much of the battle had been pushed outside due to space constraints and the power of both the defenders and attackers, some still remained. This was composed mostly of both sides utilizing individuals flashing from room to room, using tactics instead of pure power to win. There was one exception in the form of a young man sitting on top of one of the overturned couches in the central room, around him were so far the only three Vizard corpses to be found on the battlefield. Despite his young age his body was bulky with an inhumanly large upper-body. When Kaito entered the boy looked at him with bored eyes and blew a large bubble with the gum he was chewing.
He jumped off the couch and didn't utter a word as he raised his left hand and snapped, a large explosion forced before him and came hurtling toward Kaito.

Death hadn't moved at all, it was like he was frozen in time until the appointed task came. He wasn't even talking since most of the Espada didn't seem to want anything to do with him and the other Dominus were not present. In fact that was a bit of a mystery, nobody knew where they were or in fact what was really going on. And the Horror Vacui for all their attempts at bringing the groups together seemed no more willing to clue them in. Of course only the Espada would see this being the only ones capable of getting close to them or perhaps more accurately the weaker individuals simply didn't question them. Death had made no attempt to talk Sojukin off, maybe he had a plan for him, but he wasn't exactly making friends either and when the Espada spoke to him his eyes shifted only a bit.
Death considered him with a blank stare. Sojukin did not interest him but the question did, nobody had been brave enough to ever ask him that, of course he knew some of that “bravery” was just insanity but it was still something he had never heard. “Thousands.” He answered, “Many...many thousands of years.” He seemed momentarily as if he was about to continue but then said nothing more, perhaps deciding that was enough for someone like Sojukin.
But then he changed the subject, “When they come, don't attack immediately. If I have read them right the Commander General will feel compelled to come here personally. When things go violent you would do well to stay out of our way. However it is likely he will bring several other captains with him, I can handle them, but if it pleases you then they are yours.”
Of course Death never said anything extraneous, even if he made it sound like it. This was a plan like all the others, though what the plan was, was certainly hard to define.

Aiko was still waiting frustrated as the final leaders arrived. It had only been about fifteen minutes but the intensity of the situation made it last forever. The one person amongst the shinigami Aiko respected most of all was the commander general, not only was the man strong, he was wise. Aiko had tried for years to live off the division 11 stereotype… but his drinking problem didn’t help. When the Commander General began to speak Aiko listened silently to the man he admired.
“Some of you may have heard. For those who haven't about twenty minutes ago an Arrancar penetrated our defenses. However it simply left a message with us and disappeared, here it is.”
Aiko was shocked no one had been faulted for the Arrancars easy access and escape from the Rukongai, but when he thought about it there really wasn’t much anyone could have done. The shinigami that were there ere no match for an arrancar and even if an attempt had been made to stop the hollow, all the bastard had brought was a letter. Aiko watched as the General placed the letter on the table a few feet from Aiko. He was tempted to reach out and grab it out of curiosity but surely it would have been rude. Normally Aiko wouldn’t have given a damn about offending anyone and surely would have burst in anger, but in the Generals presence, things were…different. The elder shinigami began to recite the letter to key as if he had read it countless times.
Aiko watched his general and noticed the all to familiar signs of anger brewing inside him. Aiko could feel a rage as well. The arrancar had already stepped over the line but now they were mocking the shinigami for doing it. Miyu had remained silent for most of the time but Aiko could hear her purring in his ear, trying to calm him. “Because we are aware of our power differences only one of us will be attending, though we will of course bring our retainers for logistical purposes. Please bring those with you that you believe will be of aid to better business politicking to Tokyo Tower at 1PM local time.
Have a pleasant day, The Arrancar of Las Noches.”
Fist clenching around the hilt of his zanpakutou Aiko stared at the letter on the table in front of him. The Horror Vacui had killed the former captain of division 11 with ease. “Could they do the same to someone so much weaker” Aiko thought to himself, his eyes gazing on the paper as if he expected an answer. Aiko snapped out of his trance like state well orders were given, turning his attention back to his leader.
The General sighed, “Make no mistake, I think we once more march to war and remember we're going to the human world, tell your subordinates to keep damage to a minimum. But in the end the immediate elimination of these opponents before they can make another move is also our duty as leaders. These are my orders, all divisions prepare for operational status.”
Aiko felt if he was to speak now was the time. Being the newest of all the technical captains Aiko made sure his voice not only was loud enough so everyone could hear him but he also made sure it stayed even and did not let his anger seep through. “ Sir if I may speak. I must say I think with the recent shortage of battle hardened shinigami and the lack of command that maybe we should unite multiple divisions in an effort to form these offensive and defensive teams. If I may recommend that well Saigotschuu Yun accompanies you to the meeting that the tenth division joins temporarily with the eleventh in an effort to clear the streets of Tokyo of hallow. If I may also say sir that Sagara..” Aiko and Sagara had recently came into conflict over a chess match. Though Aiko had no personal grudge against the man he was unsure if that worked both ways. “that Sagara and the few remaining shinigami in division 6 also unite with the eleventh. After all…no offense Sagara but you have not exactly had the experience to handle a large scale conflict like this.” Aiko waited patiently for the Commander General to reply. The only regret Aiko had was not listening to the other captains before putting forth his idea, but his eagerness to lead got the best of him.

Kaito had not been inside the door less than two minutes before the first attack came. He had noticed the odd proportioned boy (The size of the kids chest unnerved Kaito) sitting on the overturned couch. However it wasn’t until after Kaito made his way further inside the room did he notice the small collection of bodies the kid had been accumulating. Before the boy was off his feet Kaito had dashed straight to his right and through a thin sheetrock wall. Through the whole in the wall Kaito lazily watched as a mass explosion had ripped down through the hall and just barely reached outside though the main doors, probably torching or killing anything directly outside the doors themselves. The boy appeared to be human but Kaito had redrawn his zanpakutou either way. He had never seen such a young human boy deliver such a powerful “punch” before.
Kaito was making his way back out towards the whole when the kid came through it and sent a strong left foot to Kaito’s jaw. Not managing to dodge Kaito flew back a few inches and slashed upwards, not sure if the boy blocked it he fallowed again with a slash before pushing off the boys chest with his feet and flipping backwards, now leaning against the stone wall behind him. The first words Kaito had really spoken that day were fallowed by a smile “Sprinkled on the bones of the beast! Sharp tower, red crystal, steel ring. Move and become the wind, stop and become the calm. The sound of warring spears fills the empty castle!” A large mass of yellow energy escaped out after the boy and weather it connected Kaito had no idea. But just in case the boy had decided to jump upward away from the blast Kaito leapt into the air waiting for his target. If the boy fallowed him upward Kaito was ready to strike with lethal deadly force.
“You know Kaito; he did kill multiple vizard already. You should be taking the fight a little more serious. Activate your Shikai and let me help you more.” Houtai’s rough voice echoed in Kaito’s ears only to be fallowed by the screeching inner hollow “Orrrrrr lemme help you this time, Kid!. Think about it… I could kill him and the hollow and the other arrancar… just lemme out kid.” Annoying as ever Dobe continued to prod driving Kaito insane. Either way he wasn’t ready to use any more energy then he had to. Someone had the balls to attack the syndicate which in turn meant that there definably was something going on; something big. From the looks of it they appeared to be members of the brotherhood, but years of experienced told him not to rush to conclusions.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This wasn’t the first time Shamus had been vacant when an attack on NWO HQ was taking place. Weeks before when the NWO was engaged in an open battle with The Brotherhood Shamus had been off on the opposite side of the globe. Shamus was checking his combat suit over and began turning on different functions. Inside the helicopter he was riding in was “the Crew” his personal unit in the ongoing war against spirits. “the Crew” consisted of Himself-leader, JT-Point man, Ophelia-CQC expert, Danny-Sniping, and Bargo- Demolitions.
Shamus was busy briefing his team on the way to HQ. He knew the place was under a full scale attack by hollow AND shinigami. Intel he had received told him that it was organized and there were at least 100 spirits attacking the building. As the helicopter slowed he knew they weren’t far. Shamus’s orders were for JT and Ophelia to move over to the facility, get inside and start assisting in there well Bargo and Shamus stayed outside and assisted the forces landing. Danny would move to higher ground (The helicopter would land him last on top of the facility itself) to provide cover fire and begin to fire off into the larger of the enemies causing damage and hopefully skimming out the ranks of spirits there are on the battle field. Though it wasn’t much for a tactic to tactic plan Shamus had only received word of what was happening minutes prior.
As the four team members minus Danny (Who stayed in the helicopter to be transported to the top of the Facility to provide covering fire for the rest of the members) exited the helicopter they realized quickly that the report of a mass amount of enemies had not been wrong. When they exited the air vehicle it became evident this was more then a battle but a skirmish. Shamus and Bargo broke off from the other two members of the elite faction and began making there way towards two other NWO operatives that had already exited there helicopter and began fighting the hallow hordes. Well they moved that way Ophelia and JT were running at top speed towards the facility. Ophelia and JT were cursing because right behind them trailed two dog like hollow that had broke apart from the pack. When the two were roughly only fifteen feet from the entrance way to the facility the hollow pounced and tackled JT to the ground. Ophelia quickly jumped over head of the two and sliced at the hollow shoving her blade deep into the hollow neck. Ophelia seemed to kill the hollow and as the second dog like beast jumped for her he was silenced by the burst of a shotgun, JT had already returned the girls favor and then the ELITES moved inside the facility and began to make there way further into the skirmish.
Just as Shamus and Bargo made there way to about fifteen yards from Reginald and the massive “Tank” they had noticed a gigantic rhino looking hollow that was mounted by an even angrier shinigami. Bargo stopped and began opening fire slaughtering the weaker hollows with his massive light machine gun well Shamus used his powers had sent a singular dog hollow flying at the face of the shinigami riding the rhino like hollow, behind the two men NWO grunts began to assemble and form a blockade at the two’s rear. “ Reginald sir, this is Shamus from the CREW, we have you covered on your right.” Shamus had spoken to the Armor commander over his head set.
Ordering Bargo to remain with the other troops and continue laying down a hailstorm of lead flavored death Shamus launched himself into the air activating his suits device that would allow him to use reitsu to practically run on air. Focusing his weight downward Shamus landed Just outside of Tank and Reginalds direct line of fire. Shamus chucked a grenade into the mix causing a couple of hollow to get flipped and tossed around yet the armored beast was still advancing towards them.

Sagara stood up after Aiko spoke and said. “Commander.. I also agree with this. Like Vice-captain Aiko has said, I do not have the experience of leading a full scale battle force, and Sixth division currently doesn’t have the man power to stand alone.. My being here is evidence of that alone.” His manner was a strong as he could muster and as respectful as he could keep it despite the boiling rage at the audacity of the arrancar. Sagara stood and waited to see if the other captains agreed with this idea as well as the Commander General.
”You know. Just this once I think I’m going to help you instead of annoy you Sagara. Lets kill these bastards who throw insults at us. We are the leader of the Sixth Division and we will show those arrogant bastards what we can do!” Sagara closed his eyes, many of the captains would most likely think him quite disrespectful but in reality he was keeping himself as calm and peaceful as he could while he talked to Kasai, his zanpakuto spirit.. Thank you Kasai, I don’t think I could do this leading sixth, fighting an enemy all the while fighting you in my head. Now anything you care to teach me before we go off and fight to our most likely death or shocking victory? Kasai smiled as he looked at sagara and said. “Nope. Good luck!” And that was the end of it. He opened his eyes again, looking at the Commander General for a response to there request.

Vance’s spirit scanner was going a bit crazy as he pointed his scope towards the glowing white spot on the door. He gulped before jumping down and grabbing the shoulder of a combat unit. “If you value the lives of your comrades and yourselves come with me. NOW!” He yelled as he headed off into the direction of the science lab. By the sound of the foot steps behind him he could tell that the group was following him.
He stopped in front of a metal door that required a pass code. One of the soldiers looked at him before saying. “Why did ya bring us here. It needs a frigin code!” “I know the code you dumbass. I work here when I’m not blowing something apart!” He yelled back as he punched in the code. The doors slid open with a mechanical hiss as he walked into the room. The temperature was below fifty degrees and two of the workers looked at him hectically as he started to have the soliders move a giant tank onto an automated dolly. “You cant take that! Its just a prototype and is no where near wide scale use!” “That’s why im taking it. For specific use. Incase you didn’t notice we’ve go a full fucking invasion going on! We need all the damn advantages we can get! Now do something useful and calibrate the power settings so it doesn’t fry after two shots!” He yelled throwing something that resembled a Ipad at him.
They walked back down towards the front line, half because the dolly couldn’t move faster with the weight of the massive tank on top of it, and half because the scientist couldn’t type and run at the same time.. “Here hows this?” The scientist said, use to having Vance give the orders. “Completely fucking useless. Your math is all wrong.” He yelled back as he edited the equation and before uploading the new code to the device.
As they approached the end the sound of a battle was evident. Screams, smell of blood, and the roars from the hollows. Vance jumped onto the dolly before pulling out a gun that had a giant tube connected to it as they prepared for battle, the tube was connected to the side of the rather scifi looking gun. “Hidy ho mother fuckers!” He yelled out as he aimed at the nearest hollow, pulling the trigger and watching as the power packed taste of death smashed into the beasts head. The power of the blast blew straight through the hollow as two others looked at the new power house on the block. “That’s right bitch. Get some!” And with that command the four solidiers that accompanied him and even the scientist who had pistol started to unload on the creatures. Vance switched the fire mode to automatic and started to let out the Gatling gun style of fire. Ripping parts of flesh off there new adversaries. This was Vance’s current pride and joy. SDCP (Spirit Defense Cannon Prototype) Mark 0.5. (Working title.)

Kensei had dealt with one more human when he felt a strong presence to his side. But before he had time to activate his Oblivion Fists, or even turn properly the body of a lion like hollow had pounced on him and pushed him through the wall of the Cathedral. Kensei grunted as he was pushed across the floor and then up on a pillar as the beast tried to bite his insides out. He activated Oblivion Fists and started to smash at the back of the Hollows head. The hollow jumped back slightly, but as Kensei hit the ground the searing pain of claws ripping his flesh with the force that would easily fell a normal human was all but to real. His body flew against his will into the nearest wall as blood spewed out of his chest. He fell to his knees, out of air and in more pain then he had felt in a long time. He raised his hand to shoot but was met with a cero that sent him through the wall instead.
The blow had seared his wounds, but had left kensei decimated. His body burned, and lashed out at his mind in hatred for what he had done to it. His heart was pounding as he started to look around with his blurred vision. His head swam as he looked at possible foes, until the one that had done this came to claim its prize. Kensei dropped out of shikai as it stood over him. The horrid breath of the creature sent his nostrils into a panic and his eyes into a furry as he watched it open its mouth and a small speck of golden energy started to swell inside it. His eyes closed, sure that death had finally found him. ”Pathetic.” that was the only word as he found himself push out of control of his own body.
The dagger smashed itself into the jaw of the hollow, forcing the hollow’s head up and the cero to blast off, hitting one of the men that was fighting another Vizard. A swift kick to the beasts stomach sent it off of Kensei as his body started to transform. Across his head formed his Hollows mask, which at the ears grew a semi orbs around them that ended in a point that went above Kensei’s head. Around his arms formed a balk armor, which at the shoulder pointed up in spikes, and at the side of his biceps formed for white sections with a red mark in the middle. Near his wrists the armor turned white and claws sprung from his finger tips. “Kazuno, you best lend me those damn fists unless you want to see this fool die!” Kazuno did so as Kensi’s Shikai fell into the hands of his Hollow. “Time to die you little bitch!” Crypt, the inner hollow of Kensei was set free, and havoc would soon be sent upon his new enemey.
Crypt smiled, one could see the black and white armor through the ruins of kensei’s shirt as it worked its way across his body. Slowly Crypt was gaining full control. Crypt’s claws where the only not covered by the gauntlets, adding to the damage they could do. The hollow arose angered by the hole in its jaw and sent out a cero towards Crypt. The hollow Shunpoed out of the way before yelling out at its side. “shitsunen genkotsu!” He yelled out as the purple energy surrounded Crypt’s hands. The force of the blow slammed the hollow into the ground, as well as slashing into its chest. He struck again at his side, but the Hollow struck out as well. He shunpoed around the Hollow before opening his mouth. A black cero slammed into the hollow’s side sending it through a wall and back into the church.
If fate had a sense of irony it was that the hollow had a pew through its chest and was lying in front of Jesus who looked down from the cross he was nailed into. A cero formed in the palm of Crypt’s hand as he walked over to the face of the beast. A grin poised on his face as two horns ripped out of the fabric of Kensei’s pants, roughly four inches long. Crypt put his foot on the Hollows head and started to laugh as he let the cero out, blast through his head and smashing violently against the ground under it, breaking apart the tile and sliding across the ground, sending a black light all across the cathedral. Night would set for the last time for Crypts foes..

"Another arrancar broke through.....!?" Makkuro's eyes had widened at the sudden shock of the news as a cold chill ran down the back of his spine causing a few beads of sweat to well up on his face. The horrors of the recent attack still fresh in his mind was driving him insane especially so close to each other. The other attack hadn't been well received either and Makkuro felt the bearing weight of his first failure on his shoulders. Taking a deep breathe, he listened to the rest of the news.
He had been worried at first that the Arrancar had staged another attack and were bringing them to the brink of war again; he wasn't however prepared for what was said. He murmured to himself repeating what had just been said to him. "They wish to have a talk with us? In the real world?" Nothing at all made any sense of this and everything seemed to be way off in his mind. He shook his head no, it couldn't have been more suspicious unless they had invited them into Hueco Mundo itself. The captain of squad three braced himself as he continued to listen, then noted the plain white envelope on the desk before turning back to the General who had just stated he would travel to the real world to meet the hollows.
"General, If I may speak...We had no idea what is waiting for us there. All of this seems...far too shady for us to allow you to go sir. Should we not send a herald first? Commander you are far too valuable to the Soul Society for us to risk losing you in such a way. Please allow me or someone else to go in your stead. The soul society has already suffered so many critical blows, to lose you as well would demoralize us to a point of almost no return."
He knew not if his words fell on deaf ears or not, but he hoped that the Commander General would listen to reason. This was far too dangerous to allow him to go. He was more than just the general of this army to the people of the Seireiti, he was an icon a symbol of hope that everyone could look on and believe that the fight could still be won. No, they couldn't afford to lose him. He felt awkward sitting there with the eyes on him, Aiko spoke before he had and had an immediate response, he wondered why he always seemed to be the awkward one though he did nod and voiced agreement with Aiko and Sagara.
He nodded at what they had said, but they needed to be making a battle strategy not sitting around twiddling their thumbs! He turned his head a little and felt a pain twinge in the back of his mind. What if they weren't a match for them? The doubt was filtering in now and with it would come depression if he couldn't dispel it quickly; he turned to Rin and Asuka for some sort of aid as he knew them both the best, his tired eyes spelling out everything clearly, he was still a bit out of it after the loss of his men. No, he couldn't be like this now, he couldn't beg for help when so many were already in danger themselves! He gripped the hilt of his sword, Meuma's essence filtering through his very existence and surging through his body like the very blood in his veins.
"You'll be fine, you already did everything you could kid. Just relax and take it all one step at a time."
Makkuro breathed in through his nose at that point and thought about the fight, there was nothing he could have done to change anything except not taken anyone with him. No smile went to his lips, he just sat still and listened to the rest of the Captain's speak as he debated over how best to deal with the current situation at hand. His depression could wait, they had bigger issues than that to worry about, with the hilt still grasped he looked around at everyone in the room. He could count only six maybe seven real captains in the room, that was troubling indeed, they weren't even at half strength. What they were about to do could be related to a slaughter! He looked about again and looked at the Commander General though he did not say a word.
Did the General have some sort of plan or was he truly planning to lead them into his blood bath? The Horror Vacui have already confirmed themselves as the most powerful beings in existence or so he had heard after the results of the war before, but now to say that one along with their 'thralls' however those might be were with them!? Makkuro had a problem with just going in with as little information as they had. He could see the surge of Arrancar, but finding definate Reitsu amounts was difficult.
Meuma meanwhile was debating once more to argue with Makkuro over his actions, though he had to suppose that the young man was right. There were too many variables that didn't add up in this little facade. _________________________________________________
Sojukin rocked back and forth on his heels as he heard Death's answer and was about to respond when Death cut him off. He was not to engage any enemies immediately, they were waiting for the Commander himself to arrive and nothing less. The narcissistic arrancar thought about that for a moment, before turning back to Death.
"I understand sir, though I do have more questions for you if you would indulge me in this little game of trivial pursuit. You have enough power in your army to crush the entire Soul Society right out with no problem; I'd imagine you could do it single handedly if you wanted to. As well with your strength, how have you remained hidden for so long? Your strength is incomparable to most of us and your reitsu is like a eclipse, it's impossible not to notice, so just how exactly did you manage to hide all of that and why if you were so powerful did you not emerge in the Seireiti and merely destroy them all with the flick of your wrist? Would you rather drag out their suffering and create an awe-inspiring fear in your wake or perhaps there is something else on your mind? Something so devious or maybe even unexpected that it requires some sort of long twisted scheme to transpire before it's completion could ever be considered. Who knows? I'm just throwing around ideas at the moment, but I'd follow you to hell itself just to see where this little plot is going, you've gotten me so wrapped around it, lost in a sea as I try to figure out what exactly your planning.
He stopped for a moment as he watched the carnage for a moment, letting the exuberance of it soak into his body and leave a warm feeling through out him. He felt as if in that moment, he was laying a warm patch of grass surrounded by the summer sun with not a care in the world. The moment faded and the high ended, with that he continued to speak to Death.
"I know you don't see us becoming friends Death, I'm probably far beneath you in that department, but I still would rather like to know whats going on inside of that head of yours. Doubt theres much of a way to do that aside from becoming your friend though.
Sojukin laughed at that, doubting Death would see the humor in it, before turning back to him.
"So tell me, do you drink Death or have any flights of fancy that you attend to when you aren't busy doing things like this?"
The question was innocent, well...innocent for Sojukin who would more along the lines sooner ask; Would you rather be disembowled or decapiatated? Turning back to the battle at hand and leaning back against the Tokyo Tower, he shut up and waited for the replies, though he doubted that he would receive much more than the vague answer that he had just received a few moments ago.

Yasuo wasn’t as familiar as most of the people in the room with the Horror Vacui, but he had heard many things about them, enough things to make him shake nervously at the thought of engaging in a war with them. He was barely able to control that impulse when the Commander General made that fear a fact. The Espada already made the Arrancar quite a powerful faction, but now that they had joined forces with a far greater and organized power, Yasuo was at a loss of words at the magnificent force that had resulted. He felt small in comparison for a second, but was somehow able to remind himself where he was and what he had to do, once again focusing on the discussion that had been going on.
He didn’t sympathize with the plan of mixing entire divisions in order to form single team dedicated to the sole purpose of attacking or defending, but the fear he had reminded himself of seconds ago was still present in teh back of his head and the truth was he couldn’t expect a single squad to be able to make that much of a difference. He was about to address that matter when Makkuro got ahead of him to point the certainly true shadiness of the letter bussiness. Aside from the deceased Captain of his division, Makkuro was probably the one Yasuo was more familiar with. He had never interacted with him aside from the proffesional field, but since their divisions were both in charge of defending Sereitei, he used to accompany his Captain to their meetings. While it was something small, that was probably why he felt more sympathy towards him than to the other Captains.
“I agree with Captain Makkuro. These Horror Vacui beings are something that far surpasses what Captains or Vice-Captains can accomplish and we still don’t know the limit to their power; if it turns out that they were in fact lying and more than one comes, it will prove dangerous even for someone like the Commander.” Yasuo said from his seat. He wasn’t agreeing because of sympathy, he had been taught to protect and hence positioning the head of their entire organization was something that sounded lacking in proper judgement to him, even though he didn’t word it like that.
He wondered if Commander Kazuma really required that much defending anyways, but the truth was that he was more concerned with something else. Even though nobody was voicing anything against him (and probably the way everyone ignored the fact was their way of criticising him), he still couldn’t forgive himself for all his mistakes. Even back at his home outside the Sereitei, he wasn’t welcomed by those beside his family. Even his division now considered him a disgrace for what they stood for. Images rushed through his mind and the lives lost because of him pushed him to continue talking before his turn to speak left him.
“And I don’t know how big or organized these offense and deffense groups will be, but as far as the strategy goes, the 5th Division offers itself to lead the deffense squad. We are the ones in charge of deffending Sereitei and hence have more experience in tactics of that nature". Yasuo was probably pushing his position as a Vice-Captain and, more importantly, as someone who had demonstrated to only be capable of failure, but he needed this chance to prove himself, for he knew he could live up to this one commitment and hence couldn’t let go of it that easily. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Garve stood up and stretched his arms as if he had been sleeping for hours. He hadn’t really been sleeping, but he wasn’t used to sitting down for that long either.
“Should I assume you are not interested in chess anymore, Garve-sama?” Xifan responded, imitating his master and standing up in a rigid manner.
“I like chess, but I’m tired of losing, Xifan”, Garve answered without hiding a fake resentment. “Besides, we’ve been doing nothing but playing chess for a long time when we should be doing some fighting, right?”
Xifan didn’t respond, but instead nodded and proceeded to pick up the chess pieces and closing the board, which he intended to take with himself.
“I’ll take it”, Garve interrupted his Fracción and took the portable chess board and held it with his right hand. “Maybe I’ll get to play a game with someone worse than me”.
Garve didn’t hide the board in his clothes or made any kind of attempt to take it out of the way, he simply continued to hold it in his diestrous hand. It wouldn’t be a surprise if what he was intending was to fight only with his left hand, but the sad truth was that it wouldn’t be odd either if he actually did play a game with another Arrancar or even a Vizard. Xifan wondered while staring at his master’s back what was going through his mind. He had been his closes acquaintance all these years, but even he didn’t know what he was thinking most of the time. All those years of conversations and trying to figure each other out had only been able to make him realize that he was not sincere with anybody. Nobody knew his true emotions, his true personality or his true intentions, they simply knew who he wanted them to know. But even though the Garve he knew was only a mask, he trusted him. He had thought about this more than once, and he wasn’t going to find out anything new by pondering about it one more time. When an explosion covered Xifan’s vision of Garve, he finally decided to do what he supposed to do and aid his ‘allies’.

The confirmation on the arrancar breakthrough wasn’t news to Rin, but the situation was far worse than anyone expected; the Horror Vacui were going to have this battle in the Living world, and in Tokyo of all places. The amount of people who would be at risk were in the millions, especially when the fight started – they quite obviously didn’t want peace, and from what they already knew of the Horror Vacui’s power, any fight was likely to destroy the better part of the city.
The current news was worrisome enough, and the report on the army of arrancar in the city didn’t help matters. That said, what the commander said next was even worse. It was one thing for all the captains to go, but for him to head there himself?
“Commander, I agree with Captain Makkuro. You going there will just mark you as a target; that is probably the entire point of the letter; destroy the leadership of soul society and leave us in chaos. If you must go, can you at least stay behind, and allow us to scout for the traps that are undoubtedly awaiting us?” She really doubted that he would listen; he never listened to her, since they first met. Pain in the neck he was though, she would rather him staying amongst the living.
There were other worries though, the divisions without any true captains guiding them were already suffering from a significant loss in power and guidance, letting them run wild in Tokyo could be leading them to a slaughter. She personally agreed with the idea of the captainless divisions grouping up for protection, but sheer force of numbers was not everything.
“Commander, I would also suggest that we keep all unseated officers off the attacking groups. As it is, the city is filled with arrancar, and possibly espada. We know that at least one of the Horror Vacui is down there. There would be no point in carrying anyone below the single digits; they would all be incapacitated, if not outright suffocated, by the combined reiatsu of us, and the espada. Also, any arrancar or hollow capable of standing up and fighting with our reiatsu flaring in the city would be far too powerful for any but the stronger seats to handle anyway. Everyone else can remain in Soul society with the defensive units.”
Granted, while she truly believed that having unseated shinigami present on the attacking line would be leading lambs to a slaughter, she had her own motives; mainly that she wanted a certain child off the field. Kubi would most certainly choose to go if he could, and she might not have minded under different circumstances, but as things stood, all of them could possibly be heading to their deaths; if nothing else, it would makes things easier if she didn’t have to worry about his safety.
