Ai’s blade throwing experience went about as well as she expected it to – this is, it was completely ineffective and only served to really keep the librarian occupied for a couple of seconds more. She still really had to figure out how everyone was able to move so quickly though, it was impressive the first few times, but having it done to you repeatedly was just frustrating. Of course, Ai really had bigger issues on hand, such as the librarian with the sword poised to skewer her, but then it wasn’t as if she could evade anyone moving that fast, and it was unlikely that Momo would swing to kill, just hurt. She didn’t particularly want to get impaled on something again, but she could live with it.
When Momo actually took a stab at her, the first thing Ai felt was disappointment. Granted, she enjoyed not bleeding to death, but Momo went and got her expecting a fitting end, and all she got was a false stab at her clothing. Probably wanted to make sure that they couldn’t avoid going to the ethics classes….. or to comment on her not taking part in the last mob attack.
“No, dead would be a few inches to the right.”
The palm was close enough though. Yeah, that definitely fractured something, and Ai was not looking forward to the migraine when she woke up.
Surprisingly, waking up was far less painful than expected. At some point she was moved closer to the pavilion, and her nose was actually fixed. But then, if the shinigami had access to the means of throwing around red fireballs, it wasn’t a far stretch for them to have the means of rapid healing. Ignoring both the healer telling her to stay still, and the mild disorientation upon standing up, Ai set off in search for her sword and cape. It wasn’t a long search, although she still had the issue of having two blades instead of one – not that she particularly minded, but now she needed to find something to wrap the blade in so that she could use it without cutting open her palm.
That was something to deal with later; for now, it was time to face the committee again, apparently minus one Tensu and the fireball thrower. Ah well. Steadily moving herself over to the group, she contemplated her situation. The sword breaking was unexpected, but otherwise, she got off with only mild disorientation, that would hopefully go away soon. She noticed Keiori talking to Momo about a rematch….. that wasn’t a bad idea.
“So, would you happen to have a spare hilt lying around anywhere?”

Raijin woke up where he had been knocked unconcious with every part of his body aching in pain as he stared up at the bright sky He screamed as he shielded his eyes, then noticed no one was around to hurt him. He sat up shaking in vibrant fear; oh the horrors that they had done to him, the horrors. Panting for a moment, his throat still hoarse from the amount of screaming he had done as they wailed on him. Coughing, he went to reach for his blade, only to find it wasn't near him. "Great...I have no idea where I am or how badly injuried I am and no zanpakuto around." His hand came up to his forehead, pure unbridled agony had lodged itself there.
"Anyone get the license plate of the bus that hit me? I have an insurance claim to take out." His humor was a sign of healing, though it sounded forced and rather harsh as he laid back down wanting his sword in his hand again. It was a cold reassurance to have a blade in his hand now; something to defend himself with incase those monsters came upon him again. He coughed and a small fountain of blood gushed from his arm, which he promptly put pressue on to stop the bleeding
"Hey don't move you idiot."
One of the random students laying near him finally retorted as Raijin attempted to sit up for a second time. "Oh shut up." He scowled back at him as he got steady onto his feet and shook from a blow he received on his ears knocking his equilbrium out of wack. Aside from that, the only thing left to do was find his damn sword and a way to get his underwear out of his crack from the super wedgie he received.

Heton moved his hand over his head before slowly opening his eyes. It seemed his plan didn’t work out to well.. “Note to self… Check for glasses next time.” He said with a sigh before banging his head into his pillow. He looked to his side and smiled as he saw his Zanpakuto there to greet him.
He looked at his hands and noticed that nothing really hurt aside from a dull headache. He slowly got out of bed, waving the nurse off before grabbing his Zanpakuto and sliding it into his sash. He saw most everyone was still in bed aside from Ai, Keiori, the midget kid, and Amanohara, and maybe one or two but he didn’t know them so they didn’t pop into mind.
Heton walked over to Momo before saying. “Well a deals a deal. I lost so ill stop playing hero.. For the most part.” He said with a slight chuckle at the end before walking outside.

All the disciplinary committee members that had been in the area were now in front of the students along with the real shinigami. Surprisingly, or perhaps not given her pre-battle personality she returned any bows or affirmations of her skill from the students with grace and did no lording of any kind. However half of the students then began turning away as if they had accepted their defeat and were ready to move on. That was when Momo raised her hand with all the posture of a skilled librarian scolding a noisy intruder and said, “Wait just a moment, you aren't leaving just yet.”
Once she had everyones attention she continued, “Did you really think this was a simple case of you disagreeing with us and so us forcing you to our whims through sheer power?” she clicked her tongue in a disapproving way before including, “Hardly.”
“This was to make a point, an important one.” She then took a more official stance before continuing, “You see amongst the senior members of the disciplinary committee I am without a doubt the weakest, amongst my 5th year contemporaries I sit somewhere in the middle. This was the point we wanted to make. We didn't try and stop you because we fear you will make trouble...you will...but that isn't what we worry about because as you can see we are quite capable of dealing with that. No, we fear for your safety. You have entered a world unlike any you have ever experienced, a world where the depths of power know no bounds and if you treat this world like you have the rest of your life you will die. You have seen that just like anywhere else there are malcontents, only here the strongest of them could wipe the floor with you and be off about their business in the blink of an eye. Someday you will be strong, strong as me, maybe more so and when that time comes maybe you will be capable of dealing with your own problems. But for the foreseeable future it is our job to ensure your safety, and in return that is why I ask for your cooperation in playing by the rules that have been set forward.”
She paused and let that sink in for a while before turning and pointing to another disciplinary member who was sitting beneath the nearby pavilion, “Now, for any of you that have found yourself lacking your zanpakutou it is highly likely it is on the table under the pavilion over there as we did a through scan and collect of the area afterwards.” She then turned back toward them, “As for the compulsory classes you will receive the details in full upon arriving to your class tomorrow.”
She turned to them and bowed, “Thank you for this opportunity to further my skill!”, she said it in a way that suggested it was a customary saying after a spar, at least for her class. Then after she was finished she walked off back toward the school, some members of the committee remained as well as the shinigami and some of the healers, others followed.
--------------
Meanwhile two medical techs stood over one boy.
“What did he say?” The first asked.
“He's mumbling something under his breath about inside, beds and being a hero...” The other replied.
“Poor lad must have been knocked for a loop (or been a terrible reader?)! That's just silly since we're both clearly OUTSIDE and there are NO BEDS anywhere!” He said motioning to the sky and then the Earth.
“Why are you talking like that?”
On the ground below them Heton continued to slumber in his stupid, illiterate unconsciousness.
--------------
Before Keiori or Ai could get to inspecting the table for their blades however someone unexpected appeared before Keiori. Nero was as always the very picture of calm and perhaps a touch of insanely bored, however just like the first time they saw him striking down the bullies his demeanor seemed to carry an air of importance this time. He held his hand out to suggest Keiori should stop and then clapped his hands together before motioning to Ai (whom they were directly in front of) to come over, assuming she didn't come he'd have gone to her while insuring Keiori followed. Once they were close he spoke low so nobody could hear but more than loud enough for them at the same time.
“It is as Bob told you, he has an eye for that sort of thing and he knew who would be attracting attention beforehand. You two must be careful.” He began, “When you come upon them you must also tell the short boy, the white-haired girl and that slumbering one over there.” He suggested Heton who was in plain view, “That this statement goes for them as well.”
“We, the disciplinary committee are the only official body of students selected by the lead teachers whom are also members of the Gotei 13. However do not mistake that for saying we are the only one. I am not sure how aware you are of the various philosophies amongst the different divisions but suffice it to say for every division that believes in fair play and the wholesome values of honor and camaraderie that the committee embodies there are just as many others that believe in the opposite. Some merely focus on finding students of a breed that fit that particular divisions motif, but those are not the ones you should be wary of. I speak of one in particular who only values power, you will know them when you see them, they carry no name as their intent is not singular or focused, it simply is to find the strongest individuals as pawns for their lording divisions, whom similarly are not singular.”
He looked at them without blinking or showing any emotion, “That might appeal to you. If so consider this, they don't care about you and if you join them then but fail their trials then you will die...if you succeed then power may very well await you, I won't lie. Unlike Momo or the other members I will not try to talk you down from any path, that is your choice. But know that nothing comes without a cost, and should you walk that path I will still be your enemy even if I respect your right to forge your own way. And they will have watched this battle today, they will have seen the five of you and they will doubtlessly come knocking.”
He then reached under his jacket and produced Keiori's zanpakutou which he handed to her and then going in once more a piece of paper with a seal that he handed to Ai, “This is a permission seal that I have been given to provide those whose zanpakutous broke in this battle. You may take your weapon to the smith which you will find in the eastern portion of the facility, there will be signs when you get close. You should know that this is an excellent opportunity, they will reforge the blade much stronger than it was when you received it. Very rarely do students get this chance until well into their first year, most their second.” Both the girls might note that despite what he said he nor any of the others were giving the other students these seals.
He looked at Keiori, “The little boy is in the medical plaza which is also on the eastern side of campus, if you are worried.” He said this with his same monotone so it was impossible to tell if he was being sincere, digging at her, or just being oblivious, “Same for the girl. I should warn you though that you and the boy will be of particular interest to those I spoke of, you embodying pure strength and he with the power of wit and the earliest case of kido I have ever witnessed. So it will be even worse if they can get you together...that is all I have to say, make of and do with it as you will.”
He then turned and walked off without another word.

Heton heard the echoing of voices around him. Instinctively he grabbed his zanpakuto, though careful not to draw it in front of the committee. The world went into a haze, and soon darkness. He let out a groan as he opened his eyes to see two of the doctors, or nurses, or whatever they where called standing over him with puzzling looks. ”Did I get knocked unconscious again?” He said before slowly getting up from the grass.
The doctors sighed before saying, “You never woke up..” Heton gave them a curios look before getting up and saying. “Oh, I see.. Odd dream..” He slowly got up, before noticing his zanpakuto was next to him. At least that part seemed the same. His hand slowly extended towards it before he put it into his sash as he slowly got up. “Note to self… Again. Check for glasses..” His eyes met the sun and reminded him how much of a headache he currently had. He looked down guarding his eyes before rubbing his head.
Covering his eyes he looked around before noticing Amanohara was missing. As he started to walk around he felt a something different about his hilt. He drew his blade before studding it, only to fine a hair line crack at the top. He started to move around the thread around the hilt out of the way, to discover his hilt was broken in half except closer towards the end. “Fuck!” He exclaimed like a whispered scream. He sat down and sighed before shaking his head. He didn’t want to be the bumbling idiot who lost his sword THEN broke the hilt within minutes of getting it back. But it would be pretty hard to hide, and if he got into a real match again it might shatter on him, or break in half.
He swallowed down his embarrassment before slowly and carefully undoing the thread across his hilt and walking over to one of the disciplinary committees members. “It seems the hilt broke.. IS there anything I can have done to fix it?”

The after battle pleasantries were over, and now it was time for the grand lecture from the librarian. This ought to be good. Momo wasn’t going to let them run away though, so they really had no choice in the matter. In the end, the lecture was really just to hammer in the point that had just been literally beaten into all of them; that they were all greatly outclassed by the older students. It was somewhat depressing; after all the trouble she went through to become strong enough to not have to walk on eggshells around everyone, she was right back where she started, no even worse; if she ran into any particularly troublesome people, she didn’t have as much options to get away, not with people that could move faster than she could perceive.
Being on the bottom of the barrel again bites. Then there is that ethics class….. I should really find out about that. Hey wait a minute, what about my sword? They’ll probably get mad if I steal someone else’s for a hilt…..
While Ai was going through her internal monologue, another committee member showed up, the really bored looking one this time. He wanted to talk to Keiori and her about something, which already sounded like bad news, but she might as well get it over with. Whatever it was, he didn’t want others to hear, which interested her enough to head over. The news itself was certainly important; according to Nero, the five of them were going to be stalked by some forceful division recruiters, who may or may not lead to them getting dragged in a group that wanted to use them as goons, and having the Disciplinary Committee as enemies. Interesting times were certainly ahead.
His next act was to hand over Keiori’s zanpakuto, and give her a piece of paper. He was quick to explain what the paper actually was, which made Ai do a quick scan of the crowd. She was sure that she couldn’t have been the only one to get her blade damaged beyond recognition, not with the condition most of the swords were in, but she was the only one with a seal to get hers fixed. Did it mean that she really was the only one to get her blade completely broken? Or was it because she was only one out of the five of them to get her sword broken. Going by that reasoning, the slip was his way of making sure that she could actually defend herself if things turned ugly with the recruiters.
Either way, she was getting an opportunity to get a proper weapon far earlier than normal, without having had to do anything for it. Someone was giving her a gift willingly. That was new, and she didn’t know how to respond for a few moments, as Nero went on to tell Keiori about where Tensu and the fireball kid were.
“Umm, thanks.”
She was finally able to give him some kind of response, right before he walked off, before carefully putting the seal within her robes. A few moments after he was gone, she turned to Keiori; she wasn’t about to go wandering alone until she got her blades fixed.
“So, since we’re both likely headed in the same direction, how about we stick together? Besides, I want to see what happened to your sister for them to need to carry her off.” Sure, they were supposed to warn Heton about the recruiters….. ah, he’ll be fine. Maybe. She didn’t particularly care either way.

Raijin moved slowly finally getting enough wind and energy in himself to move. His body felt like it was going to fall apart, like jello with too much water in it. Not the green kind though, Raijin hated the green kind, more like the orange kind. "Yeah," Raijin thought to himself. "I feel like orange jello." He coughed little bit and was glad to only find bits of mucus escaping through his teeth this time. Limping across the yard, he found his sword still in the condition that he had received it. Thanking his luck, he reattached the katana to his sash and moved around aiding the other students get up after having the hell beaten out of them.
"Where the hell were you when we needed you?" A female student asked staring at him evilly and Raijin only shuffled his feet and rubbed the back of his head.
"What do you mean I was here the entire time. I was just in the back, got beat up pretty quick."
"No you weren't you liar, you showed up lately and got your ass handed to you by Momo. I wasn't unconcious." Raijin blushed as the girl got up and slapped him. Ouch...first day and already found someone that would probably never go out with him. Averting his eye, he moved around to help the other students. A few of them commenting about the giant red mark now blooming on his cheek.
"Umm..yeah, shut up and I won't comment about the marks on you."
"Note taken." Several of them answered, but others pushed and Raijin just shook his head and walked over to Ai "I see your sister found her sword. A few others are still having a hard time getting theirs." Raijin didn't know that Keiori had just received her blade from the others and that Ai was going to be getting a new one. One that was in much better condition than everyone elses. Had he known this, he would have been a bit more irriate with the pair. Glancing around the area, he began to speak absently to the pair.
"That was a hell of a fight huh? Is that what it means to be a shinigami or is it something even more? I'm scared to think about it to be honest. I mean what will happen to us when we get that strong?"

The young boy which Heton addressed was one of the newest Committee members though of course he had no way of knowing that. It seemed Nero had disappeared and was in no hurry to come to their rescue. Regardless the boy tried his hardest to prove of service and took the Zanpakutou parts in his hands and looked them over. Though he tried to remain confident it was evident to anybody watching he was out of his field and he tried to discretely call one of his fellow members over. An unremarkable girl appeared this time, it seemed the Committee was not made purely of the schools notable parties. On the bright side she didn’t seem as lost as he had and quickly fit the pieces together though of course they were still broken before she looked to Heton. “Well, nothing we can do about it. But if it’s this broken you can’t use it so the teachers should give you a pass to make use of the forge…I think. Well, I’ll take you to the staff office and you can talk wit-” In the middle of speaking she looked to her side and paused as she found someone perched over her shoulder reaching out and probing the pieces of the zanpakutou. She gave out a squeal and jumped backward causing the other individual to jump back and mimic her in a joking manner. Then everybody realized it was Bob…and they grew accepting, because everybody was used to Bob by now, though could one ever truly be used to him? Either way he held out his hand and the girl gave him the pieces which he gave a thorough assessment. “I’ll fix it…” He finally concluded in an offhand manner. Several nearby committee members balked at him and one managed, “Bob, students can’t touch others zanpakutou for repair!” Bob turned his head slightly from the blade with an incredulous look, he then put the blade on the ground. “I can’t?…You think I can’t” Before anybody could explain it was already over as he crossed his arms and came to his feet with boom of reiatsu as he raised his voice, “JUST WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM!!!! ” An explosion went off behind him sending several committee members flying including one who asked the obvious as he flew away, “Where do you get all these thiiiiiinnnngggssss?” Bob performed a quick spin before stomping his foot into the ground, fracturing it for several feet and kicking the blade and broken hilt into the air. He reached to the knot holding his jacket on and undid it reaching inside and pulling out a large roll of duct-tape which he gripped and then with a wide expansive motion with both his arms pulled out a long piece. His hands then went to work faster than anyone watching could focus on and a second later he brought the blade down in front of them in one solid piece, the hilt firmly…taped together. But Bob wasn’t done, oh no. He pointed firmly forward and yelled, “HETON!” “I have seen what you will be!” He through the blade up enough that the hilt was balanced on his finger where it began to spin in a super fast fashion as he held it high into the air and the duct tape flew off though the hilt did not come apart. He placed his free pointer on the bridge of his glasses and it seemed almost as if a spotlight was descending on him from the sky, “YOURS IS THE DRILL WHICH WILL PIERCE THE HEAVENS!” He spun the blade and dropped it into the ground where it stuck where upon he pointed straight at Heton again. “But you won’t be anything if you can’t protect what is important! Remember, your zanpakutou isn’t just a tool, it’s an extension of yourself! It’s the first test to see if you are capable of protecting what has meaning to you, after all if you can‘t how can you be a shinigami and protect others? From this day forward Heton you must protect it at all cost or you won’t be able to prove yourself and go on to guard what you want to!” A whirlwind of reiatsu appeared around Bob, “Go Heton! GO TOWARD THE FUTURE WITH ALL YOIUR STRENGTH THAT WE MIGHT MEET AGAIN!!! LET YOUR STRENGTH OVERFLOW INTO ALL YOUR WILL!!!” He stepped back and crossed his arms speaking calmer now, “It is our desires defining our path, our path defining our goal, our goal defining WHO WE ARE. Who are you Heton? Will you be a man you can be proud of?!” Then the whirlwind released and with it Bob was gone. All around committee members were shaking their heads in disapproval and annoyance, meanwhile Hetons blade sat in the ground completely repaired, with it there also seemed to be a renewed sense of strength emanating from within its form. There were also a number of other students whose zanpakutous hadn’t been repaired giving him dirty looks. ------------------ Whether either of the girls responded to Raijin or not they eventually made their way toward the medical plaza. Unlike most of the other portions of the school it was not difficult to find as there were signs everywhere telling them which way to turn. Clearly the shinigami didn’t want any confusion to crop up during an emergency about where they needed to head, it was also telling of ones chances to be injured here that this was felt necessary. Eventually they found it, turned out it was more or less next to the cafeteria in the center of the facility, likely so it was the same distance away no matter where you were in the facility. It looked every bit the school clinic from the outside with a large sign labeling it as such above and upon walking in it maintained that look though with several ominous machines against the walls, large tubes inserted into the ceiling. It was an open room with a number of beds against the walls, there were curtains to separate them but they were currently pulled back so the entire room was laid bare. This made it easy to locate Amanohara and Jim, the latter was laid up in bed and it appeared his clothing had been completely removed though he was covered with a blanket. Though nobody was actively attending to him some sort of green energy barrier hade been erected over him, it was likely the first time the girls had seen such a thing but they might be getting used to the weirdness. Plus they had seen Jims kido so they might be able to warrant a guess as to what it was. Amanohara was closer to the front and a large woman stood before her in shinigami robes with what appeared to be a white and red robe marking her likely as the schools top nurse. Despite what at first glance appeared to be almost a maternal appearance the hardened look on her face suggested a strict personality, or at least no nonsense when in the middle of work. She was currently cleaning the girls face with a simple wash cloth, though it was fainter now it was apparent that a large amount of blood had cascaded down her left cheek shortly before as it was stained a mild pink. A puffy white gauss pad was over her left eye and it was already reddened if still bleeding beneath. Amanohara seemed to turn her head without thinking at the unexpected movement and upon seeing the two girls she waved and added a sugary, “Oh haiiii~!!!” The nurse quickly grabbed her by the chin and turned her back toward her, “Fool of a girl! Don’t you move, unless you want me poking out your other eye.” Amanohara tried to keep a straight face but failed, falling backwards and giggling to herself as if the woman had told some grand joke, seemed Amanohara was on some high-grade pain killer which naturally meant narcotics as well. The nurse sighed and walked to stand over her whereupon she finished cleaning and then put her hand over the eye again as a green light began emanating from it. Amanohara tried to squirm as if she was confused by the womans action but was quickly held in place and told to sit still, this time she complied. The nurse finally turned her attention to the two newcomers. “I’ll be with you in a moment. You two don’t appear to be hurt at all…so what’s the problem?”

Heton looked at the man skeptically as he started unwrapping his Zanpakuto.. But then the worst happened, as the last of the wrapping came off half of the hilt came off showing it was indeed fully broken. Tears started to fill Heton’s eyes, as shame, and grief as his heart sank to the abysmally large ocean that was his inner peace. Yet at the bottom of it, anger became alit. Anger at himself for allowing his sword to be broken, and the anger that shouldn’t be there, the anger that was sent towards Momo for using his hilt to bash his head open on.. Though he knew that was the way of the dark side, blaming others for ones own mistakes.
The bumbling idiot who had taken his sword with no idea how to help him soon called for backup from a rather unimpressive looking girl. It was almost shocking how ordinary she was in a place filled with backhanded awesomeness, and the scariest of people.. Refreshing was the slightly non encompassing basis of her knowledge.. But alas, COULD THIS PLACE STOP BEING FILLED WITH AWESOMENESS?! NOOOOO!!!
Bob.
Bob...
One could say his name as the beat of ones own heart. And he was here to fix what was broken. “Please do..” Heton said hardly above a whisper as Bob offered to fix it before the others criticized him for it. Heton jumped back in fear as he yelled out. Explosions boomed with his voice and sent the doubting committee members flying as Bob stood in front of Heton. The earth buckled and cracked under Bob’s foot, the foot of a ninja!
“Ahh..” Heton exclaimed in a sort of whisper as Bob duct tapped his hilt back together. Was this what he meant, was this all he would do?? Bob yelled out his name, and Heton wondered what sort of punishment he would send onto him.. But it wasn’t punishment, he watched in wonder as his sword spun atop Bob’s fingers. Yet, despite his state of Awe, Bob’s words fell onto his ears like lead to the ground.
His heart swelled to the top of his chest as anger towards himself, yet pride filled him. He was sure this was where he was meant to be now. Bob assured him that every moment in his life was stepping stone to this event! And he would face every challenge ahead with courage and protect what mattered to him! He would one day become..... a Shingami.
The whirlwind that came with Bob’s exit pushed Heton’s hair back and his clothes sway in the wind. But those that shook there head at Bob had there eyes closed. They did not see the fire which had been lit in Heton’s heart, the fire that would carry him on for the rest of his life as a Shingami in training and beyond!
Heton’s hand quivered as he placed one knee up from his sitting position, and changed into that of a kneeling position. He stood up and slowly grasped the cold, fixed hilt of his sword. The ground scraped against his blade as he slowly pulled the tip out. Then with a cut, faster then any he had done in his fight against Momo, he raised his sword to the skys. “I WILL BECOME A MAN I AM PROUD OF AND PROTECT WHAT MATTERS TO ME!” He proclaimed as his riatsu wrapped his Zanpakuto’s blade. A thin black stripe that swirled around before touching the tip of it, it was like a illusion, it seemed to both emanate from Heton and from his sword at the same time. As he sheathed his blade quickly the riatsu seemed to rupture in the smallest of flashes from the inside of his hilt, causing the end of his sleeve to sway a bit.. Either that or the slight breeze caused it, BUT IN HETON’S MINDE THERE WAS NO MISTAKE! IT WAS HIS RIATSU THAT HAD DONE IT! THE PROOF OF HIS NOT YET OBTAINED GREATNESS HE WOULD SOMEDAY POSSIBLY INHERIT!!!
People looked at him as if he was crazy for getting so worked up by Bob’s speech. But he blew them off, he held himself with new confidence as he looked around. “Where should I be going next?” He asked the man the girl who seemed to have some clue as to what she was doing when handling his Zanpakuto. Other students seemed to eye him with distaste as his Zanpakuto was the one that was fixed. But alas, nothing was going to bother him right now. And no one was ever going to take his Zanpakuto again!............. or so he hopes.

Before they could leave, they were stopped by the presence of the late one – what was his name again? Ah yes, Raijin. She had a hard time understanding what he was talking about, considering what happened to him.
“Didn’t you only drop in at the very end? What fight are you talking about; you literally just fell in and got knocked out. You’re a bad liar, aren’t you?”
Ignoring him after that comment, Ai waited around for anything that Keiori had to say, before heading off. The path to the hospital was quite conveniently labeled; for once, she didn’t have any concerns about getting lost, but the fact that there were so many signs said a lot about how often people needed to be hospitalized. Maybe she would be able to get away with more than she thought. The medical building was right by the cafeteria; how did no one manage to notice that before? Especially with a sign so big.
“Really, how did we not see that?”
Shrugging off the confusion, Ai headed into the building, in no particular rush as she took in all of the machinery and tubes running all over the place. If only Tensu was around for her to question, but then that was why she was here. That and to make sure Nero’s message got passed on anyway. They found Tensu and Jim in a wide room filled with beds. The short kid was covered up under a weird glowing green light, but after the fireball stunt Jim pulled, this just confirmed her belief that they had healing versions of the stuff. Anyway, she cared more about Tensu right now, who was being worked on by a nurse with a blood-stained cloth. Did Momo put out her eye?!
When Tensu turned to them, and responded with such a sweet, happiness filled, non Tensu like greeting, Ai became a bit worried. “Did Momo stab her in the brain!?” She liked the normal Tensu, watching her was interesting! This Tensu seemed too happy and vacant, and Ai didn’t think that she could fake that well. Then she collapsed laughing, giggling like those people who went crazy back in Rukongai. This just kept getting weirder….then the nurse came to them.
“Umm, we’re here to check on those two, make sure they aren’t dead……is Tensu going to be okay? She seems kinda…..well crazy.”
The possibility of Tensu simply being high on a cocktail of drugs never crossed her mind – how was she supposed to know that enough painkillers could do that?

Keiori had barely time to turn around to look for her missing zanpakutou before Momo raised her voice and called for her and the other students that was still not passed out on the ground to hold up. Judging by the sharpness in her tone it was time for another lecture and Keiori reluctantly turned around with an annoyed expression etched to her face. Though the revelation about the true purpose of this "test" didn't really surprise her greatly she had to admit it had not occurred to her before and the way Momo explained it made her feel individually targeted as "dumb", which in a certain context of the word might have been true but that wouldn't stop Keiori from being grumpy about it later...
Though when Momo said she was probably the weakest of the committee members the reality of the situation began to sink in even for her. One committee member had beaten an entire class if not more of first year students, and she wasn't even that remarkable from the looks of it... Keiori had hoped that the "glorious" Shinigami of Seireitei would keep complete rabble such as those ass-holes oppressing the people in her district out, but it appeared as if they let anyone join as long as they had "power", as the people in her district called it and she was now beginning to understand why so few of those who had proven a challenge to her back then had not joined the academy; they were completely outclassed here and it did not fit them to be at the bottom of the social ladder. Of course, neither did Keiori enjoy the thought of being a doormat for anyone with some power, but she realized she'd at least need to try not to attract too much attention intentionally. Either case, she had to admit this new world was rather intriguing, and she anticipated learning and experiencing more of it.
Upon finishing the lecture, Momo pointed them to the table under the pavilion where a collection of different zanpakutou lay in their scabbards waiting to be picked up, though before they could move off to collect them she began to speak again “As for the compulsory classes you will receive the details in full upon arriving to your class tomorrow.” This made Keiori groan out loud, she had forgotten about that. This excursion might not have been all too worthwhile after all... After having shrugged it off however, Keiori followed the group as they moved over to the pavilion, though she was cut off by Nero who seemingly appeared out of nowhere though that may just have been because she was tired, still a bit nauseous and been focused on the pavilion itself. At first she had been about to walk around him before she noticed who it was, at which point she reared her head back slightly in apparent surprise and her senses were suddenly operating at peak efficiency from the "shock". Though the man said nothing he held an arm out signalling for Keiori to stop which she pretty much already had, and then turned to some other girl and waved her over and after both were waiting (mostly) patiently in front of the Committee member he handed Keiori her zanpakutou to which she quietly thanked him before he began to explain the reason for this little private hush-hush conversation.
It turned out that the Shinigami themselves weren't much better than the average Rukongai district, with what appeared to be entire divisions devoted to those with no morals and that the five of them, supposedly referring to Keiori, the other girl, Amanohara, Jim and... Someone else... Would now be on their list of 'targets' because of this little display, something which made Keiori shout "THEN WHY DID YOU KEEP THIS IN SUCH AN OPEN AND PUBLIC SPACE!?" in her head. Though she kept this to herself though her facial expression probably announced it to anyone who would look anyways... This added another level of 'intrigue' to this new world however and while it certainly made things more difficult she had to admit it also made things more exciting, though these thoughts were quickly forgotten when the subject of Jim and Amanohara were brought up. She had assumed they were not there because they had simply awakened or not fallen unconscious and then left before she had seen it, but if they had been taken to the academys clinic things must have been more serious than she had thought... Though Nero's monotonous tone irked her, she assumed it was simply how he was and made no fuss over it, her worry about both her... Sister... And Jim was taking priority anyhow and it even made her not really focus on the warning that came after though it was likely she'd consider it further once she had more time to herself. Unlike Amanohara, Keiori was not capable of multiple though-processes and perhaps could be said to be very simple-minded in the way she dealt with things one at a time, though that was simply how she was and there was no changing that.
With that out of the way Nero immediately turned and walked off and Keiori was about to do the same when the other girl began to speak to her.
“So, since we're both likely headed in the same direction, how about we stick together? Besides, I want to see what happened to your sister for them to need to carry her off.”
Keiori had a mixed reaction to this because while she thought the way the girl had said it seemed to suggest she wasn't really interested in Amanohara's health at all, Keiori was still 'hurt' from the callous way her long lost sister had acted toward her in their first actual meeting for decades... In a way Keiori was still in denial that it was actually her, and this was reflected in her response to Ai. "Sh- she's not... Not my sister... I'm going to go check on Jim... That's all..." Though a deaf AND blind person could probably have seen through her there, she wasn't exactly an exceptional liar. "Uhm... I'm Keiori" She then said, obviously trying to change subject though it was true she didn't know Ai's name yet as she hadn't really paid attention earlier, they didn't get further than that though before some guy who she didn't recognize at all walked up to them as if they knew each others... Though she guessed that the other girl might, she had a feeling that was not the case however and what he said really baffled her and for a short time made her completely forget about the current situation as she just stared at him with raised brows as if questioning "are you serious?" though Ai pretty much nailed her thoughts on the guy and what he said while simultaneously confirming that she did indeed not know him.
Well either way she turned her attention back to Ai and made a subtle nod toward the 'campus', at which point they began moving though as they were leaving the area she heard loud yelling from back near the pavilion and looked over her shoulder to notice... Some guy... holding his sword above his head while yelling at the top of his lungs... Weird. Luckily they made it away from the weirdo and so it didn't take long before they had reached the medical building, which coincidentally was right next to the cafeteria they had been in earlier and there was a big sign outside too... Once again Ai pretty much gave the audible version of Keiori's thoughts, to which she simply shrugged before she followed the other girl inside.
While she was content with just following shortly behind Ai (who probably could find the way better than her anyhow) she seemed to shrink further in stature upon seeing all the weird machinery and tubes sticking out of the walls and ceiling and she would probably have fallen behind due to nearly cowering while walking through the place had Ai not been taking her time to admire the surroundings. In the end though they made it to Jim's and Amanohara's room and upon entering the very first thing she took note off was the green energy-field surrounding Jim's bed. Whatever that was she guessed it was either part of some kind of device or maybe a kido, it probably helped hasten healing though that they needed something like that for him worried her... Just how hard(or repeatedly) had Momo hit the poor kid? She wasn't really able to mull this over much more though as she then took note of the nurse-like person that stood over another bed which soon turned out to be Amanohara's as the white haired girl twitched her head to look at them and waved her her arm while greeting them in what seemed to be a case of sugar overdose... The thing covering her sisters eye and the fact she seemed to be on some serious painkillers didn't escape Keiori's attention though and upon realizing what had most likely happened she half-fell, half sat down on the floor, looking lost and pretty much being in a daze, thus she didn't really pick up on what Ai asked and was caught up in her own little world. Whether true or not Keiori was the type who blamed themselves for stuff that happened to others, and she saw this as the second time she had dramatically failed her sister...
OOC: Playing an emotionally unstable character is kind of challenging... It's hard to keep them on track @_@

Raijin had more or less given up for the day when Bob had shown up; he could hardly utter a word as the event unfolded before him. He was so utterly confused by the fellow students actions that if his jaw was aching in several different ways that he didn't even know it could, it would have dropped. Ok, so either this guy is high or crazy or maybe a little combination of both? Wait is that duct tape? They have duck tape here? What the hell is this place, The boonies Japan style?
Raijin thought to himself as his eyes tensed downward and the more he watched the more exasperated he got, just how much cocaine was this guy on or better yet what was this guy on? It sure wasn't pot or meth thats for sure though Raijin could swear that whatever that guy was smoking was starting to effect everyone in the area. The crowd was watching dumbfounded as the blade spun on the shinigami called Bob's finger while Heton stared on like a fascinated child. Raijin felt sick to his stomach just witnessing the event. It was like something straight out of a manga these days, wait a minute....IT WAS! He couldn't remember the name, but he was certain that when Bob uttered out.
“YOURS IS THE DRILL WHICH WILL PIERCE THE HEAVENS!”
He could have sworn he had read that in a comic somewhere or at least seen it on television. He sighed and rubbed the back of his head ignoring it for now and when he saw that Bob had actually fixed the broken zanpakuto; he was a little more than impressed. How in the hell did that work? All he did was spin the blade rapidly on his finger and put a piece of duct tape on the hilt. Did he rearrange the sub-atomic structure of the blade to fit itself back together or what the hell? He sighed and fingered the blade around his waist wondering if he might be able to do that some day. He seriously doubted it but there was always hoping at least and they were there to get stronger anyway. That was when the feelings of inadequacy and doubt began to kick into his mind and he looked down ashamed of his own weakness and possible unequal aesthetics.
If only I hadn't ignored everything that had been going on I could have learned from this fight and maybe I could be stronger now, but I was too busy with my own crap and I moved on leaving everyone to do this. I'm still the puny kid I was back in the real world...what good am I right now? All I've done since I got here was get my ass handed to me three ways till Sunday and goof off. It's time shape up and be the man I'm supposed to be. Maybe that Bob character is absolutely insane, but at least he's got the power to do whats needed to be done and probably never has a single doubt in his mind. No...wait....please for the love of God don't tell me I'm actually inspired by that crackhead.
Raijin let a small sigh escape his lips and moved over to Heton slowly and cusped his shoulder lightly.
"He's a piece of work huh? I have never seen anyone act that way in my life and I lived in the middle of Tokyo in my previous life around millions of people. He's eccentric to say the least, but he must have some reason to say what he says if he's coming her amongst us first year students and fixing your Zanpakuto. Anyway my name is Raijin and I'm the idiot that showed up late for this little facade of a fight and got my ass handed to me...nice to meet you."
Raijin said exasperatedly and with weariness in his voice. He figured if he got shunned one more time he was going to say screw it, shove his middle finger in the air to all of them and spend the rest of the day in his room or at least until the next class. He had no real desire to be the odd man out again and he just wanted to speak to SOMEONE about what the hell just happened, because if this day wasn't confusing...he sure as hell didn't know what was.

Things calmed down significantly with Bob gone along with the rest of the senior members of the Committee. Regardless of their varying levels of eccentricity and “strangeness” it became evident that might well be why they were in charge. Confidence in ones own abilities was enough to breed personality whereas weaker individuals thrust into an environment where strength was required bottled up as to not be noticed. Thus it was not chance but natural that the ones who stood out were also the ones with power. It was also likely this lack of personality in the rest of the students that made the oddballs stand even further into the open than they might well have in the first place.
Anyhow with them out of the way the remaining students went about tending to their business. Most of the first years had retrieved their blades by now and much like Heton were looking for the next task at hand. He had asked where to go but just as it looked like the girl was about to answer Raijin walked up and interrupted, she glared him down and ignored what he had said to Heton instead re-interrupting him. With one hand on her hip and the other hand pointed toward the school she began talking in a haughty tone, it seemed she wasn't the type who dealt with others getting in her way very well.
“Todays classes are done. For your first month here first years are required to return to their dormitories as soon as the school day is over, or in rare cases such as this as soon as extracurricular activities are over. If you make it a month you'll be given more freedom, at that time your teacher should inform you of more.” She nodded to herself before continuing.
“If you don't know how to get to the male dorms from here you go through that door.” She indicated the one they had all come from in the first place, “Then turn right, go down the hall past three doors, turn left, turn right at the next door, turn left two doors down, turn left five doors down, turn righ-”
- 2 minutes later -
“Turn right at the second door, then walk across the open room there, go through the far door and you'll find yourself outside on one of the paths that leads to the male dorm, it's obvious from there as the entryway is within view.”
She smiled at them with her best “professional” smile, apparently time had healed her annoyance at Raijin. She told them that she had to get to helping other students and then turned around looking for other first years looking lost, there were no shortage of these. When they were out of ear shot the boy from the committee walked up to them and spoke.
“Don't worry, me and another guy are heading back to the dorms after this, we were just going to let all you first year guys follow us...lord knows how she remembers that, I've been here for three years and still only know it by instinct, could never repeat it out loud...”
He rubbed the back of his head with a sigh before he started walking off while calling over his shoulder, “Just stay here, we should be ready to go in ten minutes.”
-----------------
The nurse still standing over Amanohara looked to the two girls with a cynical glaze. Finally she managed a, “So basically you came to waste my time?” She groaned but finally settled for pointing to the far side of the room where there were some chairs, “Fine but sit there out of my way, their fine now but bug me to much and who knows, maybe they'll bleed out all over you.”
She went back to the task at hand while Amanohara hummed to herself. That was when Ai questioned her about the girls state, at first the nurse seemed ready to ignore her but then seemed to reconsider, perhaps noting her genuine confusion.
“Hmm...how old are you? Well, doesn't matter, old or young even if you haven't seen them in this form I'm sure you've seen people utilize hallucinogenics. I'm no fool I know how prevalent drug use is in Rukongai so I'm certain your familiar with the effects they have even if you don't understand why. Think of what I gave this girl as that, only safer. The short version would be to say it helps her ignore the pain, having ones eye poked out can be painful.”
Amanohara laughed at this, it was doubtful had she been coherent that she would be laughing about anything. It did however cover up the front door opening so that the one who had entered was already by the group by the time they noticed. It seemed the nurse became aware of the presence at the same time and turned to look. There they found a young teenage girl with brilliant pink hair pulled into dual-ponytails, she had extraordinarily attractive features. These were however covered up with a darkened scowl and a pair of unfitting librarians glasses which gave her a serious and critical look the rest of her features would never have suggested.
She pointed to her leg which was bleeding slightly, “Sensei, I demand you give me first-aid.”
The nurse looked at her with a slightly disbelieving glance, “How could you-?” she stopped and shrugged, “Misha, just wait on the bed over there.”
“IMARI-DENKA!” Misha growled, apparently she didn't like being called by her first name or without her title.
The nurse just shrugged and pointed at the bed again.
Misha huffed while poking her chest out before giving in and making her way to sit on the bed not ten feet from Ai and Keiori. With her so close it was evident the wound on her leg was incredibly shallow, most people would have simply bandaged it and let it heal on its own. Still given the personality she had just displayed and the general aura she was giving off of being full of herself, demanding such special treatment didn't seem odd for her. After seeing the previous students in the cafeteria the girls might also be able to tell that her arm-band placed her as a third year.
She looked Keiori and Ai over and the moment one of them returned the glance she piped up, “What are you looking at little baby-tans?”

Heton was about to respond to Raijin when miss megamind popped in. Now he was a Manly man! A man of honor and respect! He was not about to interrupt a woman... Oh how he would regret that, hahaha.. His jaw was at the floor and drool was coming out as he looked dumbfounded at the girl. How.. HOW?! Could she possibly remember TWO FREAKING MINUTES worth of directions! Heton could explain how to get across Japan in less then that!
As she finished it took Heton a few seconds to collect himself. He cranked his jaw back to its normal position before whipping his mouth. But thank, THANK the god that ran this insane asylum he had joined that someone was actually normal.. Yes and they would lead them to there dorms! He would have to get them something nice for Christmas, yes that was for certain. He looked over to Raijin who he doubted had any better idea of where to go then himself before shaking his head. “Back to your question..” HE said with a slight chuckle. “He really is something else.. Yet you can’t help feel Awestruck by him ya know? Something about him really just screams of greatness which we can’t even comprehend yet. His speech, despite the insanity in it just stirs ones soul ya know?” He said looking at Raijin expecting him to be as amassed by Bob as Heton was.
“Well at least we can follow those guys to the dorms.. I couldn’t agree more with him.. How in the hell can she remember all that?” He said still in disbelief at the directions. “Did she just bullshit half of it? I really think she might of.” He said shaking his head.. “So your from Tokyo huh? I can’t remember my past, but in Rukonagi I lived in the 43rd district. Simple life, a mid amount of fighting, and a good bit of farming.. So I don’t know what a big city is like.” His legs carried him away from the crowds as he continued to talk to Raijin. He sat down close to where everyone else was, but out in the training grounds. “I’m not all that use to talking with all the background noise of other people. “ He said with another chuckle. “So, do any sort of training before coming here?”

Hallucino-what now?
Ai was not an idiot, but living in the spiritual slums meant that there were certain words that she would be completely unfamiliar with. Such as the technical term for drugs. It didn’t matter in the end though; from the nurse’s explanation, Ai thought back to where she had seen reactions like Tensu’s from. People at the brothel, acting insanely cheerful after inhaling some powder…. Some of them got quite violent, some started randomly crying…. That was what Tensu was being injected with?! Or a safer version according to the nurse.
Tensu’s laughter didn’t help matters, but Ai’s interest in the matter had lessened now that she knew that she would have the manipulative, serious Tensu back whenever those drugs wore off. Now onto why Keiori was lying on the ground.
“Hey Keiori, did Momo smash a few of your organs too and you’re now feeling it? Maybe she knows ninja delayed damage moves and used them when she got pissed….by the way, I’m Ai.” She poked her a few times to see if she got any reaction – at this rate, she was going to be the only one capable of moving! Maybe she should get her skull checked, in case the damage was delayed on her to and her brain suddenly stared leaking from her ear.
Before she could begin to question the nurse though, she noticed a teenage girl wearing demon librarian glasses. The odd thing was that without them, she looked like one of those high priced prostitutes at the brothel. Her personality was more along the lines of those women who had powerful gang leaders protecting them though. Was she seriously here to get a scratch bandaged? Maybe it was deeper than it looked……
Back to Keiori now, if she didn’t get up, Ai was perfectly willing to half-carry her – she didn’t want to get kicked out before passing on Nero’s message, besides, she needed company to go to the blacksmith. Whichever way Keiori chose to get to the seat, Ai hung around, watching her for any other sign of injury. “If you’re really injured, you shouldn’t hide it, it could end up getting in the way later. Besides, if she’s willing to treat….” At this point, she took a better look at Misha’s wound. Her comment was odd though.
“Just checking something for reference, Princess-san.” With that short comment, she turned back to Keiori. “Where was I? Right, if the nurse is willing to treat a small scratch, I’m sure that she can treat whatever injuries Momo did. It’s a bit odd that a third year is going to the hospital for a scratch though….”
